I'm probably a little bit biased because this is the closest Albertsons to me, but even with that being said, I do think it's a pretty solid location. It's located right next to university of Irvine so as expected, you'll always see a bunch of student students shopping inside. I've never had issues with them being out of stock on any staples and their meat and deli counters are both well managed with some super friendly staff members. I also frequent their deli for their fried chicken and I can confirm they do a solid job (because let's be real not all locations are created equal when it comes to their fried chicken) They have both standard checkout lanes and self service checkout lanes with a staff member who's always readily available to help. The ambience is clean well maintained with friendly staff, and the store layout in my opinion is also a plus because it's large with wide aisles and plenty of inventory! read more

This has to be one of the worst Albertsons locations for DoorDash pickups. Every time I come here, they seem completely overwhelmed and unorganized when it comes to online orders. Today I spoke with Tommy and gave him the customer's name for the order I was picking up. After waiting about 10 minutes, he came back out and asked me for the same name again. It was confusing and didn't inspire much confidence that anyone knew where the order was or what was going on. I understand stores get busy, but this feels more like a General Management issue than a staffing issue. When operations are consistently backed up and disorganized, that responsibility falls on leadership. A good manager steps in, rolls up their sleeves, and helps get things back on track. If you're ordering delivery or planning a pickup, I'd strongly recommend choosing another Albertsons or a nearby Ralphs instead. This location seems to struggle with basic order management, and unfortunately it shows. read more

It's the staff. I recall one time I was looking for Grillo's pickles and ask someone in the deli where I could find them and they pointed me to the corner of the deli. They weren't there so I asked someone else and they told me to go on the back aisle and look there -couldn't find them. I asked someone else they pointed me over to the deli again, so I rechecked to make sure I didn't overlook something and I couldn't find them so I went back and asked someone else and they said they didn't know. This is just one example and no, I never found the pickles. I asked the manager one time for a specific item. I think it was dates and he told me the wrong aisle. I mean it's not that big of a thing but if the manager doesn't know, I think that's a problem . Please walk your customers to the product. The checkout clerks are dismal. Every single time that I have checked out with someone at the store, they look as though they are pissed off all the time. They barely say hello, they don't try to make conversation, they just barely mumble something under their breath, quickly scan your items and blurt out the total. Some things may be on the pricier side since it's near the university. Albertsons is my favorite grocery store, so I was pretty bummed when the closest one to me was this one, which is about 15 minutes away. This location is probably my favorite one, and I'm definitely making the drive to shop here. The store itself is clean, and decently stocked. They offer a variety of items, and almost feels like a mix between an American grocery store and an Asian grocery store. You'll be able to find a lot of Asian ingredients here, which was a total surprise to me! The produce here is well stocked and fresh, and offers a wide selection. The workers here are always friendly, and shoutout to the baggers here who are really great at fitting our $100 of groceries in two bags. Albertons is also one of my favorites because they have great coupons on their mobile app, so I usually save about 30% on each shopping trip. read more

Roberto in the Deli was visibly annoyed at 2pm. No customers at the counter...I wanted to order wings. Roberto slamming the deli counters clear door. The wings were dried out looking and old. Very rude retorts and muttering to himself. I always try to be polite but his attitude was someone who hates their job & feels it's ok to take his bad mood out on customers. I was just in here for a couple of items real quick while visiting my daughter and her family. The store is nice and clean inside and out. I like coming through here when I just grab a couple things because it's fast in out out with self check out service. I only needed taco seasoning, tortillas, and a case of water. I previously stopped by another store nearby which I will not name and they only had 1 of the 3 items. So I was able to leave there, arrive here, and still feel like I was only here! Nice grocery store by UCI campus. Convenient breakstop for me right after that my carb-heavy, protein-lacking lunch at the neighboring tteokbokki place. I appreciate that I can take my respite here without having to buy something or talk to anyone. Unfortunately, they only have one stall here for that. I believe every grocery store should have at least two. I have also conveniently stopped by here for some quick grocery shopping on my way to college potluck parties. I know I am a nuisance because I am that coupon dude! But they always seem to treat me nicely! Not the cheapest grocery store but it's a big store and it should have everything you need, which means you won't have to go to multiple stores to get what you want. Don't recommend the produce here though. It really doesn't last long. Honestly the worst Albertsons. Only thing nice is the sushi. I have bought a flank steak that was so smelly and so rotten, that I can't believe they had that in the meat case.... I brought it back and they gave me a new piece, however, I spoke to a previous employee who said there are a lot of sketchy things going on at this Albertsons. Also- any time I come to get a breakfast burrito, they try their hardest to not make one. This Albertsons was a quick stop for water and snacks. We had just gotten done visiting friends in Irvine, and we were headed back to LA. It was pretty late at night, but this place was open. The store was clean and well organized. The staff was pretty friendly, and got the lines going fast. I found what I was looking for: a quick healthy snack and something with which to was it down. I like this Albertsons location. They maintain well-stocked grocery selections, plus some less common products (e.g., TimTam biscuits that are popular in Australia). This grocery store is conveniently located in a large strip mall near UC Irvine, and parking is easy - especially during the non-lunch hours. If I need to buy a certain cut of meat, I can call this Albertsons ahead of time, and the friendly meat department will try very hard to accommodate my special requests. All of my experiences with the meat department have been positive. The friendly produce department stocks plenty of fruits and vegetables, and everything looks fresh and appetizing. If I have any questions about the produce, my questions are always answered with a smile. The friendly bakery department works hard to keep its shelves stocked with bread and other baked goods. I have purchased French bread, a few slices of cake for special occasions, and sourdough rolls, and they have always been delicious. read more

Going here is hit or miss :S I would probably buy my groceries online if not other stores and self-checkout here wasn't a thing, that is how creeped the shoppers are sometimes. Like in lieu of a bar, hello groceries. I typically find weekends here are the weirdest, people seem to not put their carts back weekends primarily too, which says a lot about who is shopping. Weekdays are more ok, just be choosy with what time. I think this place due to proximity with the university gets really bizarre expectations about people, things of that nature. read more

Great store, the produce area was stocked well, clean the bakery was nice with lots of delicious treats and there was a clearance bin full of 50% off items from toiletries and misc items. There was not a lot to complain about but the only thing that was odd was there was only 1 cashier and you had to wait at a the end of the aisle to wait to go to the register due to COVID...I don't mind waiting but having only one register open was annoying. They did have ample self-check which was fine and eventually just checked out on my own. The location of the store is great, and ample parking. The Albertson's by my home is closing down so it's nice to have other Albertsons options even if it's a bit farther. read more
