This will be a mixed review but I'm giving it a 5 because of ALEX!! I ran in today to pick up some stamps. To begin with I noted a grumbly employee who was moving about with a cart, and a very sour disposition. Alex had to close his line due to a computer problem so the man in front of me with a good amount of groceries, gathered and moved. He saw that I had nothing in my hands and let me go first. Thank you kind sir! All the while this woman, Michelle, is still muttering beneath her breath and complaining and clearly put out just being there, and now has to get my stamps. Alex was making the best of it and being so professional and kind, while I was laughing at her in utter disbelief. Turns out she is some sort of a manager. If this is the kind of person you promote into management Ralphs, you really need to clean house, and look at what is right in front of you, ALEX! He is the kind of person any place would be happy to have represent their standards of excellence and be the face of their brand. Thank you Alex!! read more

Ralphs is always one of our favorite grocery stores to shop at. Mostly because of the wonderful service, they hire a great staff, friendly and helpful all around. Who's the rude employee with glasses and backwards red baseball cap in the alcohol section who didn't want to help me on 12/1, 11:20pm? I asked him about locating a specific product and he merely pointed and said "over there" while walking away from me and into the backstage area. I then tried to be even more specific and his response was again to point while still walking away and repeating "over there." The whole time, he never stopped walking nor made eye contact and kept his eyes down on his phone. Management, please check your cameras as they may have caught this incident at the upper end of the alcohol aisle. read more

The blonde woman in the deli is a sweetheart and she is trying to do everything on her own as they have a older gentlemen back there who is super rude, clueless and blatantly ignores customers. It is really hard to watch. I used to order party platters for 100-300 person events from the deli and bakery but after my order becoming "lost"multiple times and the addition of the rude man behind the counter, I've decided to take my business to other Ralph's locations despite the convenience of the location at Harvard. The blonde lady deserves a raise! She is kind, keeps calm under pressure and real as can be! We had a moment today and I gave her a hug today as I saw her overwhelmed, understaffed and trying her absolute best while still being so courteous and sweet. Get her some proper help back there please!! She shouldn't have to do it all on her own even though she is clearly very capable! read more

If I have the chance, I always go to this store. Sarah (cashier) is by far the friendliest, wittiest cashier I've ever interacted with. She always has something nice to say, and talks to you like an old friend without interrupting her efficient scanning. I find that her line moves the fastest too, which is wonderful for when I'm trying to run a quick grocery errand on the way home from work. Thank you Sarah! read more

Cashier Sarah mistakenly charged me $4.79 for one $0.69 donut at first, I told her and she corrected. She then charged me $3.69 for the cereal which showed two for $5, I asked her to correct it but she said I have to purchase two of them to get the promotion price. I've been shopping at Ralph's more than 1000 times, it's only when the promotion says you MUST buy 5 or so to get the price, without MUST I can get the promotion price even though I bought only one. She was cheating on me twice today and she's been extremely rude the entire time. She made me really uncomfortable. She made Ralph's looks really BAD! Please check your receipt very carefully, you may be overcharged at this location! read more

Been coming here for years, had a problem regarding a a purchase. Ended up talking with the manager (3:30 pm on Saturday July 29th). He was an asshole, was rude throughout the entire conversation. It was obvious he didn't care, but I still needed help regardless. I won't name and shame, but you know who you are. Hope you learn to treat others more nicely because your attitude will definitely keep people away from you. read more

Best customer service you ever get! Been coming here off & on since 2000. Today bought a cold press watermelon drink (WTRMLNWTR) 3.99 & took a sip before getting to cashier; although had tried this brand before and they're surprisingly good pure watermelon juice, this one tasted sour. Lady cashier saw my reaction & de-scanned the bottle out of my receipt & told me: " if it doesn't taste good, then u shouldn't pay for it!" Well I say GodBless U & America. Nowhere else in the world I get the "consumer is Right" respect. Thank u Lady, Thank u Ralph's for keepin' it Real! read more

Ralph's cashiers in this particular store just make up their own policies I guess because today I walk into this store to do a return with a digital receipt, straight from the Ralph's app, and the cashier, older Asian women, tells me that they will not do the return because they can't accept the receipt in digital form, I need the paper receipt. But their policy CLEARLY states " we accept paper and digital receipts. I hate those employees that have pre set minds and put everyone, let's say without a paper receipt, in the same category and think they all MUST have stolen these items. Like do you keep every single one of your receipts? Do u go into a store to buy something knowing that your going to return it later? Because I sure don't. When I buy something I'm buying it for keeps. For you guys to refuse to apply your employers policies and do whatever you feel like is not only rude and annoying but if you don't agree with your employers rules and policies don't work there. Simple as that. You guys are in the customer service business so just do that, serve customers, and leave your opinions out of it. Ain't no body got time for your lies and bullshit. Thanks for reading. read more

Ralphs - Proof. Write it down. Take a picture. IDGAF! - Grocery Near Me - Irvine, California

I'd like to give a special shout-out to Colin, who has helped me tonight. Colin was very kind and professional when helping me checkout my box of drinks. He was sort of struggling to fit my box into a bag, and a man who seemed to be Colin's manager told him it wouldn't fit. Then Colin proceeded to prove him wrong and handed me a fully intact box-shaped bag while maintaining perfect professionalism. This was the nicest and funniest customer service encounter I've ever had read more

This review is not for the grocery store in general. I'm writing this review because a current employee there. I called the manager on duty but will also be calling the store manager tomorrow morning. The employee name is Ian. I politely approached him about an item I was running around the store looking for. I asked him if he can help me locate green chili in a can (Hatch brand) and I had a picture to show him. He didn't even turn to look at me nor the picture I had provided. He simply said " no I don't know where that is". I took a step back and thought to myself did he just really say that? I've worked grocery store in the past and I know for a fact that's no way to speak to a customer. I hope he was just having a bad shift and is not treating other customers the same way! read more

I bought this coconut from this store. After cracking it open, this is what I saw. It was so rotted inside that the cashier didn't even want to look at it. I took it back to this Ralphs the next day. After talking to the "person in charge" I was told that this wasn't the first time it happened!! And they still didn't do anything about it! They told me the store manager, "Robert" will contact me the next day. I never heard anything back from them and they did not even refund my money yet! It's been more than a week!! This review is for the floral section at Ralphs. My husband and I walked into Ralphs today appearing lost in the floral section and was happily greeted by Debra, R. She was very helpful and informative at the get go. We learned a great deal about our options and which flowers would compliment our Fall bouquets. Debra's keen eye made our flower selections easy. Our experience was extremely memorable. We are thankful to have been helped by her. Debra made our day as well as were the flower recipients. What you need to know: -- You may pick an assortment of flowers and ask for them to be bundled together -- Florist can help make the arrangement for you -- You may ask for recommendations, they will be more than happy to advise read more

Alright it takes a few times for me to actually write one of these but this specific Ralph's deserves it: STOP SELLING EXPIRED OR MISHANDLED FOOD!!! Yes, it's my fault for not checking the date on every perishable, but I recently moved here a few months ago and am just not used to it. However, I strongly suspect that food is being mishandled by either Ralph's or a vendor because I've had deli meat, for example, which is not expired and is immediately refrigerated (I live close) and still grows mold/something on it. Disgusting. This has happened more than once. Get it together. Look at the Rossmoor Ralph's for an example of what we should have in Irvine. read more

unfortunately this Ralphs has the meanest people working here! Whoever they have working the self checkouts are always so rude! As I was checking out the employee kept looking over my shoulder, I can tell he was watching me scan every item, he insisted on scanning them for me and even went in front of me and started scanning away! If I wanted someone to checkout for me I wouldn't be at the SELF CHECKOUT! I told him I can do it myself, so he continued to watch me, clearly he was discriminating and thought I was trying to steal. When it was time to pay he accused me of not paying for the bags which I had to prove to him that I did! I'm sure he felt dumb. Managers please train your employees good costumer service, they need it. read more

Worst customer service every single time. Avoid Jen, the cashier. The short middle aged woman who seems to hate her job, and people even more. I was in the self checkout and mistakenly had an alcohol purchase. No where on the signage for this lane did it say "no alcohol". She comes over to me super agitated and tells me, "come with me and stop wasting our time.". I was shocked that she would treat a customer like that, but I shouldn't have been, because most of the employees here are just as rude. A nice gentleman came into her checkout lane and explained to her that he left his wallet in his car, and could he leave his cart to run get it. Her response was, "I don't care what you do." No wonder the turnover in employees seems to be rapid here. read more

Never thought I'd write a review for a Grocery Store...but last night's experience was just too outstanding not to give out some props. Was on my way to a friend's house who was making me and another friend dinner (Yummy pizzas on the grill, BBQ Chicken, Mozzarella...plus outstanding homemade creme brulee). We came in to get some flowers and a gift bag for the bottle of champagne we were giving. First, a great deal on purple irises...we got 5 bunches for $7.50. Next, the gentleman manning the floral area said he could spiff them up for a nicer presentation. Cool...his name was Prizuo (I think). Well, he wasn't kidding about what he could do...fixing them up was an understatement. He arranged them just right...wrapped them absolutely perfectly...cut the bottoms...made an absolutely exquisite bow. Each step he took great care, and great time...and great detail to get it just right. He turned a $7.50 bouquet into a serious work of art. My friend was so delighted, she paired them with a green vase and it almost looked like a classic floral painting. I can't stress enough the great care Prizuo did with the flowers. We were speechless...do we tip him? Give him a hug? A High Five? He took about ten minutes and, again, it was a work of art that I would have paid $50.00 for. Mesmerizing... I hope his supervisor reads this...and should we have tipped him? It never occured to us to tip a Ralphs employee but his professionalism probably warranted it. read more

Horrible customer service. The key pad for one of the self checkouts has tape holding the buttons down. Unfortunately, one of those buttons happens to be part of my personal pin. The system was not reading my pin because I was unable to properly input the pin because of the condition of the pad. I asked for help and although the , what seem to be the manager , help me. I lived across this Ralphs back in college when I went to UCI. This Ralphs is the only one in Irvine that's open 24 hours! What a perk, especially for us crazy college kids! Now I live in Irvine again two years after I graduate, and this Ralphs has been completely remodeled and transformed. Before, this Ralphs was kind of on the older, ghetto side, but now it's very nice... The fruit and veggie side looks like you could be walking thru an indoor farmer's market. They also have a coffee bean in this Ralphs now, though I'm not sure why since there's a real Coffee Bean literally 20 steps outside the market! Oh well watever floats their boat I guess~ read more

This Ralphs is pretty much the standard. Always clean, stocked with reasonable prices and the staff has always been pleasant. Pretty much has everything you'll need for the kitchen. The only down-side would be that you can find a good bit of your list at Target and Trader Joe's for a cheaper price. But a big plus is knowing that I could walk in here any giving time and get the things I need (even at 3am or at least you used to). read more

One of the nicer, cleanest Ralphs I've ever been in. Sure, things can be extremely overpriced (ie toilet paper), but they can have some good deals. Oddly enough, after enough bad experiences at neighboring grocery chain stores, I have much more appreciation for this "hometown feeling" Ralphs. I have been a regular for a few years now, and some of my regular cashiers, actually make my day a little bit. Selection is pretty good, prices are even better, and despite being a little crowded, that's a good sign of a good business right? I went to Ralph's recently to purchase some candles and balloons for my son's birthday. I spoke with the employee's in the bakery department. They were no help at all. I walked up to here them asking each other if they received their stimulus check yet, all the while I'm looking for some friendly service, but the never looked my way. It was two small females working. I walked to the other side of the store where I found a young lady who directed me back to the bakery department, which is where I was the first time, to find candles.
