I am a Traders lover and this is my favorite location. The staff feels like family and go out of their way to help. Tim has introduced to SO many of our favorites. They were out of some of our regular purchase and Tony went out of his way to make sure it was stocked by the time we hosted. They are the best! This is my go-to Trader Joe's. The staff are friendly. The shelves are stacked neatly and everything is easy to find. The prices are great and I have been lucky at finding the coveted TJ tote here on a weekday morning! My daughter loves coming here to spot the hidden stuffed animal around the store and get a free lollipop at checkout. Parking lot is huge but gets so busy at this strip mall. read more

The inventory is organized and great. The Customer Service department is not so customer-centric. I am happy for them that they like each other and are all smiles with each other, but your primary role and responsibility is to take care of the customer not be chitter chattering away, unfocused and lazy with your response. I was returning an item so they asked would I like to shop. And I said perhaps but can you tell me how much my return item is. A male in his twenties with dark brown hair shrugged and said I think it might be $X. He guessed an inaccurate price. We are not playing The Price is Right. My favourite trader Joe's in Irvine. The crew members are absolutely fantastic. The service here is tops and the crew members are overall very lovely people. Shoutout to Sheldon for getting us to always come back to this location (the other TJs is five min closer to us, but it's worth the drive). my daughter and I are very fond of him. He is a total mensch and always goes the extra mile to be very kind and helpful **my kid will call out "Sheldon!!!" As soon as we walk through the doors!** haha, it's pretty cute, as it reminds me of the character, Edith Bunker, who would call for "Archie!" From Norman Lear's TV show, "all in the family" (which was picked up by our dear family friend, Robert D. Wood, who was President of CBS at the time). Sheldon is absolutely fantastic, and management at this store should give credit where credit is due for providing first class service and for being a bona fide mensch. That being said, This store is always fully stocked with our favourite foods and snacks, and we always walk out with more than expected. There's always some new and exciting to try. I can't speak on the "ambiance" (why, Yelp?) it's a grocery store. What kind of ambiance should a grocery store have? Tip for Parents with young kids: Ask a crew member about Larry the lizard. As a long-term consumer of Trader Joes, I am very disappointed about what happened in Irvine Trader Joes on 12/17/2025. Around 1900, my parents who are visiting from out of country went to return 4 bottles of Elderberry supplements for 2 of her adult children who each have 3 children. They are grandparents to 6 children who obviously have been dealing with ongoing cough as we are in the middle of cold/flu season. My mom purchased 4 bottles (2 bottles each for household) with cash around 1615 and went back to the store around within 2 hours on the same day after my sister told her that she did not want those supplements and to return them to the store. When she went back to the store with her original receipt and 4 unopened bottles within 2 hours requesting a refund, Captain Gabby declined to refund them nor give store credit because according to their "policy," they do not accept items that are overbought. Due to their limited English, my parents called me to speak with Gabby on the phone for clarification. She said according to their "policy," when items have been "overbought," they will not take them back. I asked for the definition of "overbuying" and how many is considered overbuying. I see people "overbuying" all the time especially during holiday seasons and never once I heard the team members inform their customers that they will not be able to return them. She could not tell me the number and said it is not a written rule and is according to the discretion of the manager at the time of return. Here is the kicker, she said it is a "high ticketed item" which is frequently stolen from the store and people bring them back with copied/fake receipts requesting for refund. Ok...so are you saying my parents stole these bottles? What is the point of keeping the original receipt when you are accused of stealing and denied a refund? I asked if there was a written policy about it and she said she has been working for Trader Joes for a long time and according to her experience, people take advantage of their return policy. Here is the thing "Captain Gabby," my father is a retired commercial airline pilot (who you would really call a CAPTAIN) who has flown for over 40 years for airlines like Turkish Airlines, India Jet Airlines and Asiana airlines. My parents who are here to visit as they do annually to spend holidays and do something nice for their children and grandchildren were accused of stealing and humiliated despite presenting with original receipt requesting for her money back within 2 hours from their original purchase. What was the reason you were giving them such a hard time? Was it because their English was not proficient? Did you see them steal the bottles when they left? Did they look suspicious to you? I truly do not understand what her logic was in insulting 2 elderly people who are in their 70s and giving them a hard time when they just wanted their money back upon returning with a receipt. She is apparently the supervisor for the Irvine location, and it is truly a shame that a leader holds such a prejudiced mindset and humiliates their faithful customers. You need to formally apologize to my parents and get some training on how to provide better customer care. Shame on you Trader Joes. Let's see how you respond to your racism, ageism and your unwarranted discrimination against your customers. read more

I come here because my son can shop with me using the little kids' shopping cart. But they have gotten rid of it!!! My son was so sad last time we came...... And on 2/14/25 I came to shop in the morning at 9:15 and after school around 3:30... I saw multiple people with dogs inside the store! (They were not service dogs!) This is a health code violation! I love this TJ but sometimes you come across rude part-timers. It's like they don't care about this summer job :( sadly.. I miss the workers that have a good attitude and offer small talk. El and Lexi were my cashiers today and when I approached them with my cart they were just talking to eachother and ignoring me. Then I just stared cus I needed to check out. After a while they asked if I was ready and started checking out-- all while still taking to eachother.. no interaction with customer. These cashiers should get reorientation of customer service. Awesome having a Trader Joe's literally walking distance to me. I usually go to the big grocery stores for most of my shopping but come here for specialty items. Store seems to never be super packed as other Trader Joe's I've been to but we warned that parking and pedestrians are pretty sketchy in the plaza in general. It's conveniently located near the plaza exit/entrance and has all of the items that I frequent for like Ube ice cream and bao! Customer service is always top notch here when I come and even the checkout line has never been longer than one person ahead of me for some reason! I've always heard that Trader Joe's is a wonderful place to shop and the stories are true. The employees are so helpful and seem to genuinely care. The three times I've been to TJ's, the service was consistently great. The decor is nice and has an aloha vibe which I like. All the food and produce is laid out in a logical manner so items are easy to find. Very clean environment -- even the restrooms. The food is also great. The frozen Kung Pao Chicken and Scallion pancakes are some favs. The Field Chopped Salad is another go to choice for me. So many unique items I still need to try. I wish TJ's was a little closer to my home but if I'm anywhere near I'm definitely stopping by. read more

On top of that, they have food for every lifestyle - gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, pescatarian, and the list goes on. They even have frozen meals to touch on so many ethnicities. Their pre-made salads and tasty alcoholic beverages are my absolute favorite & their cheap flowers are the charming details I use in my apartment. Love Trader Joe's and this location is great. It is large, well-stocked (flowers galore), and always organized. Workers are super friendly and helpful. They have child carts that my son looks forward to using. And often times workers offer him stickers or a lollipop at the register. We always leave this location feeling happy with our experience. This is the only Trader Joe's I will shop at during the current Pandemic. It's the only location I feel is being safe. Carts and baskets are wiped down. All employees are wearing masks and properly. Masks are also required by shoppers and are being enforced. Two other South OC locations are not enforcing masks, and people are definitely going to those stores for that reason. I prefer safety as I am high risk and I feel safe in this store. I love Trader Joe's. Their items, their pricing, their staff... this location is about a 30 minute scenic drive for me but it's 100% worth it to support a store that cares about their employees and guests and their safety. The cashier who helped me last weekend was floored the other locations weren't enforcing masks. I'm just thankful this one is. All produce is fresh and clean. Everything non this store is nearly organized and fresh and clean as well. Two thumbs up! read more

The employees are doing a great job sanitizing all the carts and enforcing face masks during covid. The thing I love about Trader Joe's is the unique seasonal items. I'm obsessed with the ube ice cream. When I last came this location was stocked! I also love the focaccia bread, everything but bagel seasoning, Elote seasoning and garlic onion pistachios. Disneyland is not the happiest place on earth, I swear, this location of Trader Joe's actually is. I'm really uncertain of how they do their hiring process, but they somehow have cultivated the kindest employees I've ever encountered in a place , ever, working or not. I had a long conversation with Rick about his favorite foods and he was such a relaxed, easy going, friendly person that made you feel like you were just chatting up an old friend. Everyone working here seems to be enjoying their day, not rushing past the best moments. They don't seem stressed, and their energy really rubs off on you. If you're feeling shitty, come here and grab yourself a fresh plant , a snack, a drink. We left and went to return the cart , the guy gestured for us to just let go of it and push it at him and he caught it , smiled and waived. Who doesn't like TJs? They have great grocery items at great prices and it's a nice chance to try new foods. This is my favorite location in Irvine because everyone is always so nice and friendly. This location seems to be a bit smaller than the other locations that I've been to and the parking is difficult, but the service and products definitely still live up to the Trader Joe's name. It's amazing how well staffed and willing to help all the associates are at the store. Items are easy to find, labels facing outwards, and the organization is not only visually appealing but makes it easy to get ideas of what types of food you may want to stock up on. This is probably one of the few markets where the produce does not look old or deformed and it's very apparent that the store actually cares about their product and customers. The only setbacks I've encountered is that they may quickly run out of seasonal items, especially considering how many people go to this location. I always have to pick up champs elysees salad mix, oat milk and fried garlic in chili oil from Trader Joe's because no other supermarket makes those items quite like Trader's. Great service, fantastic spread of different foods, and reasonable pricing really make this an attractive location to visit for your grocery needs. read more

One of my favorite places to go to for lunch! I was obsessed with their Tarragon Chicken Salad wrap for ages until I started delving into their salads, frozen meals, soups and other ready-made entrees. Recent finds have been the mushroom fettucine, pad thai (frozen), tamales and burritos, which have been really great and filling. For groceries, my go-to items are their grains selections. I used to buy the brown rice, but have migrated toward blends of wild rice and tri-color quinoas. And don't forget the snacks and chips. Whenever I cross that aisle, something always grabs attention. From the mochi nuggets (a little salty, but so addicting!) to the Tomato Basil Crackers, I usually find myself walking out with a little more than intended to. The staff are pretty enthusiastic about the items (especially if they're new) and do not hesitate to share their thoughts. Sometimes they are curious and will ask if you've had it before. I like the interaction and engagement, which sort of makes it seem like a local neighborhood shop than a regular transaction. I've never been to Trader Joes until I moved to Irvine not so long ago but the employees and the customer service is so professional everyone is so nice and respectful but this evening I I visited the store twice and had to go a third time so I sent my sons and they are not familiar with the store as it was there first time going I needed Beets and well they did not know what they were so I decided to call the store to see what section they might be in and spoke to Conner he was able to tell me as I told him my sons were they looking for them he was so nice to ask what my sons looked like so he can track them down and helped them I'm so impressed of how fast he found them and really helped thank you Connor your Awesome for that. read more

This TJ's is just five minutes from my place, so we come here every two weeks to stock up on snacks and coffee! People line up outside (there's always a line, but it moves quickly!) and they direct people in as people come out. You can also see that they're wiping down carts and baskets. Definitely feel safe during covid times! The employees here are so nice, as to be expected. You always just feel great after walking out. 10/10 would recommend shopping here! read more

This TJ may get super busy because it's the only one near the Woodbury area but we love our TJ stuff so we don't mind the crowds. I don't care what the "studies" say about your food being processed in the same facilities as the major supermarket chains, I still love you. You have been my steady go-to grocery store for the past few years. I can always count on you to have the fresh bagged veggies (already prepped and cleaned) that I can easily toss into the pot. Love your bagged snacks, crackers and rice that is conveniently bagged individually and enough for one portion size. Your cashier's are always so up beat and nice despite the weekend chaos of shoppers with their screaming kids. I also love your paper bags and use them as recyclable containers in my house. I was never really a big fan of Trader Joe's, until recently. People have always told me that it's way overpriced, and without actually going inside and finding out for myself, I believed them. Stupid me! Recently, I've discovered their Indian frozen meals: Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikki Masala and Spicy Lamb Vindaloo. Pair these with the frozen garlic naan bread right next to them in the frozen section, and you have yourself a DELICIOUS meal! And might I say, the price for these items are actually pretty cheap when you think about them. $3 for the meal and then approx $3 for 4 garlic naans... CANT BEAT IT! I would also recommend trying the peanut sauce salad dressing. I use it as a sauce with chicken and pasta and/or chicken and rice and it's amazing! read more

Michelle the manager with Hawaiian shirt, was extremely rude and unprofessional who told me I am not allowed inside the store with my Service not! NOT MY EMOTIONAL SERVICE DOG! She didn't even asked me and when I politely started explaining and showing my dogs card and the reason, she replied: I dont care, our customer might have an Allergy to dogs and DOGS are not allowed! Well, I have a seizure and have to have my dog with me and she didn't ask she didn't care and her tone of voice was extremely rude and loud! I am sure she has done the same thing to others because rudness doesnt come out like that! I left the store and after few minutes I couldn't resolve the horrible feeling she causes to me so I went back with all my dog documents and I wanted to see the manager.
