    When you walk in - it's not super impressive. But because it's called sourdough - we were drawn in by that and the idea of having a warm soup on a cold and rainy afternoon. We were delightfully surprised on how good it was. We had the clam chowder bread bowl and I consider us as clam chowder and sourdough bread connoisseurs based on how much we have eaten of both. Both were super good. The bread was soft and tasted really good. The chowder had small cubes of potato and big portions of clams - not very creamy which we like. We didn't even have to add pepper, which we normally would. This was very very good. It's just a walk up to the counter and order. But service was nice. The ambiance is ok - that could've better but they did have holiday decor already up on Nov 14. They are a short walk to Pikes along the water.

    Stopped in quickly for a snack, got a cheese Danish that was incredible. The staff was very quick and attentive even with the line at the bakery counter. There was some seating indoors for meals and the smell of fresh baked bread was delightful. I would definitely be back to try other offerings.

    We had just arrived at the Waterfront area via the ferry and wanted to pick up a quick bite before we headed to the airport. Since we didn't want to eat at a sit down restaurant we stopped at the Sourdough Bakery and ordered a full pesto chicken panini. Sandwich was okay and a little messy. It would have been nice if they used a full piece of lettuce and a full tomato on the sandwich. They were both cut into smaller pieces so they kept falling out of the sandwich which is what made it somewhat messy to eat. On the plus side their sourdough bread was very good.

    Stopped in for a snack while walking the pier. Grabbed a roll, danish and a couple of coffees for about $14. Holy cow the pastries were incredible. The Danish was sweet, flaky and gooey where it needed to be. The sourdough was outstanding, butter will be provided on request. 10/10 baked goods, we will be swinging by before we leave the city to take some loaves home. The dining area is fairly small but offers a comfy spot out of the wind and the staff was super friendly!

    It has three starts because my husband was starving and managed to get something to eat. We got there and there was a long line which was promising. I perused the offerings and realized that I couldn't eat anything. I loved the old pictures on the wall and got a kick out of them. But there was nothing for me to eat. The people working there were very nice. I'm surprised that there weren't more people eating inside. They had plenty of tables available but only three or so had people eating at them. My husband hates eating in front of me when I'm hungry so he walked around a bit with his food. We sat down and I insisted that he eat something and he did. He liked his meal and thought it was good. So, the OK is for the fact that they do vegan, and do it well, but gluten-free is something else and I missed not having that option. Honestly, I wouldn't trust them if they were gluten-free, so I took that out of the occasion. They do have some alt-milk options for coffee drinks and that's fine. But I wasn't moved enough to order one.

    Lots of sourdough for the vegan and they did carry soy milk for the mocha. My SO is not vegan and says the food was excellent. He had a breakfast sandwich. The place had a fun old-timey, western feel and the service was quick and friendly. We grabbed a couple rolls to snack on while we walked around and they were delicious

    My family and I came on a Saturday around 11am. It's a small little bakery located in a "strip mall" looking location. Cute old fashion decor. It's not a large place so seating may be an issue if it gets busy. Their blueberry muffin was amazing! We also ordered the breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese, and bacon and it was delicious! There were two young gentlemen at the counter. Service was ok, not great. But it wasn't bad either. I would come back again.

    This place IS Seattle! Eat what the 49ers ate up in Alaska while a diggin' in them thar hills! Soup 'n Sourdough! I made sourdough but NOT LIKE THIS STUFF! YAHOO!!! You're transferred to 1849. The old Tyme music waifting through the air.

    This place looks feels and smells like it's been open for ages and I love that old school vibe. Staff was friendly and quick with service. I ordered a panini and I wish I didn't because I opened it an hour later and the dressing they use made it a watery soggy sandwich. Prices were decent but was hoping for a tasty sandwich.

    RUDE and very unfriendly customer service!!! They wanted to charge $6 for a tiny piece of ham on a croissant. Never coming back here again.

It wasn't quite incredibly tender, but the marinade added an absolute ton of flavor. more importantly, it was present plentifully throughout the sandwich, so practically every bite came filled with pork I also have to mention how packed together the ingredients are between the buns. when you start eating, it's inevitable that a quarter of the ingredients will fall onto the wrap below, leaving a nice secondary meal to finish off after the sandwich is done. the sandwich is packed incredibly tight during the wrapping process, but it unravels a bit while eating. for me, the major highlights of this meal was the onions and the aioli Starting with the onions, these may be the best I've ever had on a sandwich. They're caramelized amazingly, placed onto the sandwich in astoundingly large pieces, are crunchy, and there's just a lot of them. They're just wonderful both texturally and taste-wise. This sandwich is absolutely lathered with aioli - practically dripping with it. This boosted the overall flavor so much, especially because this aioli was addictingly good. In my experience, the amount of sauce has been directly proportional to how much I enjoyed a sandwich, and when the sauce is this good - it's even on the top of the bun! - i absolutely loved it Somehow the lettuce stayed crunchy despite all the otherwise wetness going on in the sandwich. Props for that The jalapenos were great as well for that extra bit of spicy - I would've loved to have more of them while the bread was toasted well, the one downside was i thought it was pretty hard and tough, which made chewing kind of difficult. I found my jaw to be pretty tired at the end after eating this. I would've much preferred a softer roll that's easier to bite into I've had similar sandwiches from Paseo and Bongos, and in my opinion this does edge out both of those Comparing to Paseo, the sandwich there has way more oil, making it more sloppy and I do like the bread there a lot better, but the pork feels richer and better marinated here (although less fatty), and the onions are definitely caramelized better here as well. Bongos has a pretty similar level of pork with more, but onions are definitely a step down What moves this place above those two for me is the amount of aioli used here far exceeds those other places, which just makes the overall eating experience better For the price (about 14 dollars) this is a really filling meal

Obviously, they cook everything fresh to order because the inside of the fries was like lava. The fries were thick-cut and seasoned to perfection. The sandwich was good. I thought some pieces of the steak were a bit tough, and the roll seemed a bit over-steamed or possibly stale. A good sandwich and decent portion, nonetheless. I'm still going 5 stars here. I think Big Mike's is a great choice if you want a hearty, meat-filled sandwich and you happen to be in the area. However, I think you could be happy with another dining option in the Armory, too. My kids loved the MOD Pizza nearby. While there isn't anything wildly unique going on at Big Mike's, they are still pushing out great sandwiches at reasonable prices with a no-frills ordering process.
