I saw Avengers Infinity War here. I'm familiar with the Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas having lived in Austin, TX. I enjoyed my experience. Parking is sparse if you're driving here just FYI. Thanks guy a the ticket desk was pleasant enough I had purchased my tickets in my app so I didn't need much interaction besides where to go for my theater. The lobby was well decorated. There's a backdrop of the city where you can take pics. The theater was very clean and the seats was comfortable. The menu could have a bit more option imo, however the appetizer menu is good if you just want to snack instead of eat. Of course if you like beers the Drafthouse aspect will compliment your taste for that. The food service was quick and non disruptive. I'm looking forward to coming back bere. P.S. the movie was awesome that help too! That's my spoiler free review. P.P.S there's the DeKalb Market Hall. It's pretty much a food mall. If you want to do dinner and a movie the economical way with way better options. I recommend to watch the movie and then head to the basement after to choose from at least 20 eateries! read more

Such a cool movie theater experience! What makes this place cool: They have so many menu options, including a wide variety of draft beers, cocktails, and spiked milkshakes. Comfortable seating and ample leg room. There is a waiter for each section. Things to note: Early arrival is highly suggested. This will allow you to get your food right at the start of the movie. There's no entry after that movie has started. Additionally, this theater follows a strict no talking/ no phone policy while the movie is playing. Overall, Alamo Drafthouse is definitely a nice way to switch up your movie going experience. While I may not become a regular, as this can become a pricey movie going experience, I look forward to coming here again. read more

No parking anywhere which no matter how much time you leave yourself you end up being late. Late at Alamo?? Yeah then after all the aggravation you went through to get to a movie theater in Downtown LA, they lock you out. Literally they will not let you in. This from the same theater that has servers walking in front of you back and forth during the entire movie. Never again will I go out if my way for that treatment. I've never been to a Drafthouse Cinema so this was cool for me. As we walked in I kept asking "but where is the popcorn?" Note well: DON'T BE LATE! I was late by about six minutes my first trip here and the sign on the door almost had me in tears. "Late policy: NO THEATER ENTRY ONCE A FEATURE HAS BEGUN." I was well and truly early the day after I can tell you that. Staff was nice when honouring seats for the next day. I guess they understand all too well the trouble getting street parking downstairs. The experience was nice. I went to see BP and coupled with very tasty wings, popcorn and beer, I had a wonderful time! The servers were on point too. Almost cute as they darted through and fro during the show with backs bent as they proceeded to tables to retrieve orders from us without interrupting the movie. Oh, no talking or texting. Yes! Also, try not to get too close to the screen (especially if you wear glasses or suffer the occasional vertigo. It can be tricky. I'll definitely be back. The End. read more

Got inside the theater at the front desk by the cut off tpo see a one night only showing of a film that I had been really looking forward to. Wasn't allowed in the theater because they had just shut the door. For a chain that is so hyper rule based they could follow their own This might read like a petty grip but as someone who works 7 days a week with almost no personal time a night at the movies, specifically one that can't be seen conceivably again on a big screen, is crushing. Love Alamo drafthouse!!!! Ticket prices are very affordable for the comfort you receive! I've been here a handful of times most recently to watch "Top Gun Maverick!" Ticket price was 15.50 which is cheaper than AMC. I sat in the front and the view was great! Recliner chair! I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with fries. The soft drink menu wasn't more than orange or cranberry juice so I had lemon water! Food was only 17 dollars before tip! Service was fast and easy. Did not interrupt the movie experience at all! Allowed to seat exactly 30 minutes before show time to give time to order food and drinks... will be back of course read more

I love Alamo Drafthouse. I've gone to the ones in Texas, specifically the ones in Austin (the 6th street one - Ritz is my favorite), so it was awesome to check out the one in Brooklyn. The first movie that I saw there was Baby Driver last year. My husband and I got tickets to see it the night before the official theatre run, when guest Kid Koala opened up the movie with a little presentation about audio recording equipment. The event was part of special programming for Alamo Drafthouse's 20th anniversary celebration. Sure, it could just be styling/marketing thing, but I like that the place really pushes the love of films and the history of film. Alamo Drafthouse puts on special programming like midnight movies or David Lynch retrospectives, etc. You don't get that everywhere. Also, the food is pretty good. The hubs was partial to the Wild Mushroom Flatbread. I was a fan of the shakes (you have an option to add alcohol to them if you want for a few dollars more). BTW - You order using slips of paper during the movie, like if you want refills or whatever, the wait staff pick up the slips and then bring you your food during the movie. You get the bill towards the end of the film. This Alamo is located inside the City Point building. You go up a bunch of escalators. Also, you go up escalators again to the get to the theaters where the movies are screened. Inside this Alamo, there's House of Wax, where people over 21 can get a drink before their movie starts (or after... or whenever). In short, I recommend the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Brooklyn hands down. read more

My only gripe, well, 2 gripes are that the seats are rather close- elbow to elbow within rows and chairs don't recline, nor lift. Otherwise the theater is a joy playing classics & current hits. I love Alamo Drafthouse! I was formerly an AMC Stubs member (unlimited monthly pass) pre-pandemic but, of course, put that on pause for about 2 years. When it came time to finally start seeing some movies again, I realized that the majority of AMCs are in Manhattan (I was someone who often popped into the movies after work- but no more with a totally remote job) and that I just wasn't getting the experience I was hoping for - now, more than ever, moviegoing is a big deal! I ultimately decided to cancel my AMC Stubs, in hopes of finding a "movie theater home" that was better suited for me. I went to see Dune late last year and Batman earlier this year to test the waters at Alamo. For Dune, I opted to sit in the front row to try the reclining chairs. Personally, I am not so bothered about the lack of recline and prefer to stick with more central seats when I can, but know that reclining seats are currently only available in row 1. Beyond the chair situation, I fell in love with the pre-show clips (entertainment all its own!) and the fun menu. By the third movie, I decided to invest in a two person Season Pass (Alamo's version of a monthly unlimited ticket) because I just loved this place so much. Fast forward about two months later and I now find myself at Alamo almost weekly. My favorite thing about it is that they play both the new blockbusters, while also including some classics (and not-so-classics) into the schedule. I even saw Last Temptation of Christ on Easter! As far as showings options go, Alamo is top notch. For food, I have tried my fair share of things that were meh (especially not a fan of the Philly Cheese Steak), but I think I've found my groove otherwise. We usually go a little overboard and grab at least one pizza (always the best item from our feast - I personally love the Supreme-esque one, but they also often have fun limited time ones like Buffalo Chicken), one appetizer (the loaded fries are my top pick), and the truffle popcorn. Two items is almost certainly enough for two people, but if you are like me and just enjoy having something to mindlessly eat while you watch a movie, the popcorn is definitely the move, since it comes in a massive bowl and is refillable. They have a great beer/spirits/cocktail selection, too, though I most often will grab a soda or stick with water. They even allow you to bring your drink from House of Wax downstairs to the theater with you, if you decided to have some pre-show drinks. At Alamo, movie night is just more fun and they continue to impress me each and every time. My only wish is for more NYC locations soon! read more

I used to come here at least once a month with my wife, but the service has gotten so terrible over the past year or so that we're done coming here. It's also gotten a lot dirtier. Here are just a few examples from my last couple times here: -My wife and I ordered salads for our meals. When the food runner dropped off our food he didn't bring utensils. We asked him if he could grab us some and he said "raise an order card and your waiter will get you some". It took our waiter 20 minutes to see our order card and bring us utensils. I don't know WHY the food runner couldn't just bring us some...we're obviously not going to eat salad with our hands. I also don't know why it took 20 minutes for the waiter to see our card -Another recent time I ordered a soda and burger. My burger arrived relatively quickly but my soda didn't. I asked the food runner and he said he was about to get it. 10 minutes later it still hadn't arrived. I raised an order card to ask where my drink was, which took my waiter 10 minutes to notice. It then took another 10 minutes to get my drink! So in total my drink didn't arrive until 30 minutes after my food did -I always wash my hand before the movie, because I'm about to eat food. When I was washing my hands in the bathroom I saw an employee walk out of a bathroom stall, leave the bathroom without washing his hands, and then walk into the kitchen area down the hall. Gross. -I actually saw a cockroach on the seat next to me when I was leaving the theater last time I was there. This sadly makes sense because I don't think they clean the theaters very well, because my table was also VERY sticky, as if someone spilled soda all over it and it was never cleaned up read more

The date was March 4th 2020. This would be the my last visit to the Alamo Brooklyn location for 477 days. My first movie back after I was vaccinated was A Quiet Place 2. You better believe when they played the little video after the trailers showing clips of people from various movies watching movies and then cut to pictures of people at various Alamo events in the past that I started ugly crying. First off I would like to give kudos to the Brooklyn location they rolled with the changing requirements (staggered seating, vaccine/mask requirements etc.) the staff had a lot to deal with and for the most part handled everything with aplomb. The only incidents that were not great were the time the projector decided to break before the first screenings opening day of Daniel Craig's final outing as James Bond; when the brunch items were not available at a brunch screening of The Batman. The prices have crept up both on food (how they really make $$) and ticket prices (in line with prices in NYC but often out of their control due to the movie studios) This location FINALLY got the buttons to assist staff with ordering. I believe they have replaced some of the front row recliners and some but not all of the other seats. PLEASE bring back the special menu pizza you had during Valentine's Day season the one with the artichoke it was SO good. My biggest advice: GET ALAMO SEASON PASS it is totally worth it. (remember movie pass was supposed to return-did that happen?) I kind wish you could get a ticket at the box office without the conveinance fee but it is still very worth it. I have seen nearly 100 movies since it returned after the pandemic. (if you want to see a Marvel movie Opening weekend fri/sat 7 pm you may have to pay full price but often there are seats 7 days before just keep checking even on sold out events. My biggest criticism-the bathrooms need HELP. I can only comment on the designated women's room but the stalls are falling apart-there are a few toilets that seem to chronically clog AND I am not sure they are cleaning them as often as they should which global pandemic or no a lot of people are moving through there. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE have rowdy screenings of the upcoming final installment of the Magic Mike series I am BEGGING you. read more

Service is always good on off hours but anytime I go to a full showtime something goes wrong or take forever. Highly suggest the monthly Alamo pass. Just came here to take my baby to see Barbie and was refused entrance because of their policy that "prohibits children under 3 from PG-13 movies." When I asked what happens for kids under 13, she said they have to be accompanied by an adult. I asked how she knows my daughter's age and was refused entry by the manager. I have come here before without any issue and am LIVID about this nonsensical, conflicting rule that the manager plays fast and loose. read more

The warm pretzel is amazing by the way. Staff is friendly and helpful and the service process is easy and unobtrusive. Screens are large and the sound is excellent. Terrible theater. Their late policy is so stupid I could laugh. We showed up 10 minutes after the start time and weren't allowed in even though it was likely previews were still going on. What is the logic of not allowing late comers in when their servers are literally moving around the theater the entire movie? It's just a waste and literally takes less than 2 minutes to get to and settle in your seat. Our friend was already inside and they were asking us if we wanted to see another showing (mind you this is a 3 hour film). We were also denied a refund and instead offered a "raincheck". Love this theatre. Used to live on the block of this and I got the unlimited pass for approx $30 per person. It is cheaper if you buy for 2, saves $1. With the unlimited pass you can see one movie a day and can purchase the tickets 7 days in advance. It was a great way to relax when I worked til late and can just go watch a movie and get food at the same time. Food is pretty decent and service is great. read more

Today was my first time at this establishment Let me start off by saying my waitress JR was excellent and made my experience pleasurable. Now on to the food the oxtail and shrimp wonton were delicious.. My niece had the lemon pepper wings and fries. The seasoning on the fries was tasty, but the fries tasted frozen and the wings were not fully cooked. The drinks were over priced and not the good. In fact we had to send a drink back because of the taste. After we paid our bill we asked to speak with the manager to give our wonderful waitress a recommendation. The manager said she had a nose bleed and sat at the bar with a tissue on her nose and her head back. Again she said she had a nose bleed and sat at the bar. read more

Cool theater, actual bar downstairs and then take the escalator up to the cinema. Fairly easy to get seated and situated. Our server finally came to us to explain that the menus are under the table and shows us the lights to use and how to place our order. Order placed...20 mins later my cousins frozen margarita comes out, mind you she ordered from the same menu and I ordered a gin & tonic. The people next to us ordered after we did and they got water and pizza before us. Another 10 mins later I get my drink. Just before we finished both of our drinks our pizza comes. About another 20 mins or so the chicken sandwich she ordered when we ordered the pizza, comes. I am not how the service normally is but at the 6:20 pm showing on a Sunday they we're moving kind of slow. The server tells us something about being swamped, allegedly, which is why it took so long for our order yet they had about 4 people working, literally running with orders. If we had of received our order in a timely manner I would have given 5 stars. Bathrooms are clean, whole place is clean to be honest. Seats are very comfortable, can curl up if you are a small person. Maybe next show will be better. read more

I came here to watch a movie on a Sunday morning. The theater is actually on the 4th floor in the City Point Shopping Center. You have to write on the ordering card what you want and then stand the card up in the railing. The tables on the seats were large but you can't move them. I ordered the breakfast flatbread pizza ($14). The portion was larger than I expected. The pizza was delicious and crispy. The food was pretty good. The food was better than other eat-in movie theaters like CMX Cinebistro, iPic, AMC Dine-In, etc. The service was pretty good too, there was always a server who saw the card up. The only thing I didn't like was that the theater wasn't dark enough. I guess it's for safety reasons since the servers have to look for the ordering cards and deliver food. I did appreciate the lights under the tables though. FYI - if you're a Victory rewards member, you get a free movie ticket on your birthday. read more

How is my sitting down late in a reserved and empty seat disruptive in a MOVIE theater where servers are scurrying back and forth the entire run time? (It was also a 3-hour movie; people are going to be getting up and down constantly for bathroom breaks.) I also felt more than a hint of personal discrimination from a staffer, which I won't get into here other than to say it left me feeling disrespected and, yes, unsafe. I have loved this place for a long time! Vibe is great, staff is friendly, bar downstairs is awesome, seats and theaters are great. Its the only theater I'll agree to go to. I was excited to come back since reopening, and I have been a lot, but it's not the same. Unfortunately I think I'm done going to Alamo for a while. Patrons are talking much more often. This may as well be a regular degular theater now. Thats the number one reason I came to Alamo, but staff walk by people talking and don't do anything. So I have to put a card up. A manager does come by, but that leads to the next issue. By the time I get fed up enough to raise a card, then someone comes to pick it up, then a manager comes, 1/4 to 1/3 of the movie is over. And then if the people don't stop, which they haven't been, I have to repeat this process. And now the movie is almost over, I've been out of the film the entire time anyway and last call has happened and the people are still talking and I'm so fed up that it's not worth raising another card. Sub point, every time I have been since reopening, something gets left out of my order. I'm not charged for it so it's not a huge deal, but I'm worried the entire time that I may be. And also I wanted the thing! It sounded awesome can I please have it? I will give you the money you want for it! If you're reading this I think you should bring back the annoying voicemail and much more aggressive no talking warning at the beginning. The new warning is more welcoming and I can appreciate that but I'm not sure it's getting the message across. I dont know if it's something you changed nation wide because a lot of the country found it grating or something, but if that's the case I would say that we have a great city with its own culture and people and we can handle (and quite honestly deserve, as patrons) a little grit to get people to listen. Their website says that there will be two seats between you and another person, but that is not the case. I walked in and there was a couple sitting in the two seats directly next to the ones I booked. I talked to an attendant and she said that they ended the policy without updating the website. But you had to update the ticket system to allow those seats to be purchased - why not update the two sentences on the website to let people know? They are also not yet requiring proof of vaccination. So people can sit right next to each other no problem, but we're going to take our time about requiring vaccination? At least they offered a full refund, including service fees, without any issues. read more

I've come here a few times and was disappointed every time. Saw the recent Spider-Man and the theater had an issue where the last 10 minutes and end credits didn't show - just a black screen and audio. Most recently I saw the Batman at a late screening but when the movie ended, no clean bathrooms and no bathroom tissue in half the "available" stalls. A full line of stalls and only 2 probably had tissue or no traveling piss puddles. The staff then had the nerve to bark at people looking for a bathroom on a different floor. This place could be so much better and I like the concept. However, they fail so much with basic things like a bathroom checklist and functioning theater equipment. I've also only come at night so maybe they have a more efficient operation during the daytime... read more

If you like movies, specifically cult favorites and you like having a cold beer with truffle popcorn then The Alamo Drafthouse is the place for you!! My friend and I recently snagged some tickets for the "Multiple Maniacs" updated version for the big screen!! Also with a Q&A with the Prince of Puke himself, John Waters!!! And his autographed new book "Make Trouble"!! I know ..dreams do come true. I, in typical fashion was double booked and I was down to the wire arriving. Thank goodness for reserved seats. My friend and I ran in and quickly wrote down two waters and two Flower Power IPAs on a little order sheet and stuck it upwards. It was just as quickly picked up and just like that we got our drinks. We also couldn't resist the giant bowl of truffle popcorn. It was the perfect choice for us. The evening was perfection from the service to the film to the Q&A! I applaud the Alamo for keeping the standard and experience as wonderful as my introduction to the Alamo in Austin TX many years ago. After the movie one can not resist a selfie on the Shining patterned rug!! And then there's the extremely interesting and morbidly beautiful cocktail bar and restaurant at the House of Wax. This place could not be a more perfect date night spot! Hint hint, nudge nudge! I can not wait to return and try some more of the food and have an after movie cocktail!! Love this place! read more

The screens and seats are excellent at this location. The bathrooms were not really clean, unlike the Manhattan location. Compared to the location in lower Manhattan, this is not as beautiful a layout or space. It feels less high-end than the Manhattan location, but the building is still relatively modern. The Manhattan location has a video rental store with over 50,000 VHS and DVD's that I believe you can rent for free. This location has a kind of wax museum by the entrance but it seemed to be pretty much closed off to people and was behind a curtain. For a date, i would recommend the Manhattan location as it all feels more upscale and clean. I still recommend it highly as the seats were very comfortable, the screen was excellent (although not a Dolby screen) and you have unique options for re-releases for classic movies. read more

This was a fun spot for a date night this summer, especially to see the premiere of the little mermaid live action! First impressions: I was a bit disappointed to find out that the seats weren't reclining in the theatre, only the first row, which sucked because I specially looked up reclining theaters to find this spot. However, since it is sort of a "full service movie theatre," the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable to newcomers, and the food service was prompt and easy to follow. I will say the food was pretty average, but what else can you expect from a movie theatre. Overall would recommend... unless you want reclining chairs. read more

Went for easter with my hubby and kids to see sonic2. Let's start with the good. Friendly staff as we walked in. Big spacious seats but they do not recline . Get there a few minutes early to be able to order . We ordered burgers they were delicious. Fries a bit salty. Ordered a pizza for my youngest had to ask what happened to it twice. Finally i asked for a manager he put pizza on the house .Even with putting the light on service was terrible. Waited forever for refills. Our main waitress Grace I didn't see her again until i had to flag her down about pizza which she clearly never put in order. Then at last i saw her when she gave us bill.
