truly some of the worst service i've experienced in a very long time. maybe the bartenders were having a bad day, but i was ignored, caught an attitude when i didn't know which table number i was at outside (just give out little flags like every other place on earth), made fun of when i was trying to remember the beer my friend asked me to get (because i had been waiting at the bar for ten minutes) and then asked "is there a reason you didn't give me a tip? did you not like the service?" when i *dared* to tip only 15% (the minimum tip preset is 18% so i had to do it manually; maybe she mistakenly thought i gave no tip or maybe she thinks 15 == 0). i first came to greenwood park in 2012, and i've never been a regular but i've been a handful of times over the years. over the past couple of years i've seen all these "support greenwood park!" posts on r/parkslope and like: maybe you don't get enough people at your bar with the best outdoor space in the neighborhood because your service completely sucks? just a thought. read more

Such a cool and spacious brewery that is great for parties, watching a game, or just hanging out. They are also super dog-friendly, so that's always a plus in my book. The outdoor space is huge with plenty of seating. The patio is also retractable, so has coverage for those super sunny or rainy days. There are plenty of TV inside and outside if you're here for the game too. Every table has a QR code, but you'll still have to go inside to order your food and drinks. I had the Cool as a Cucumber cocktail ($15.50), which was light and refreshing. For food, we got the 10pcs Chicken Wings ($16.50) and Pepperoni Pizza ($15.50). The food came out fairly quick and piping hot, especially that pizza. It was tasty and good although the cheese was falling apart a bit, which made it messy. Plus, lots of oil in these pepperoni cups. As for the wings, we got two flavors: honey sriracha and spicy buffalo. They separated them and also gave celery with ranch to pair. I enjoyed the flavors on these, which were nicely coated with sauce. Overall, nice spot to hang out. I'd come more often if it was easier for me to get here, but it's a bit in the middle of nowhere. Plus, they've got some good weekday specials too! read more

First time here, and wow it's a huge space, great for gatherings. We happen to go on the day of the Kentucky Derby so we got to see people all dressed up with fun hats. We were here for a kid's birthday and if you have kids, they are welcoming. The staff were incredibly patient and calm despite the amount of kids running around, playing with bubbles, scooters, and cornhole takeover. Food is okay, it is bar food. I assume they had a great selection of alc drinks, even though I didn't take part in the beer. I had an orange soda and it was great! Would definitely come for groups, less so for an intimate time out. read more

Stopped in after going to an event nearby and it was well worth it. We didnt realize it was a restaurant at first because of the big wooden walls but once we were inside we were pleasantly surprised. This place is the perfect casual outdoor spot. There's no table service so you order food and drinks at the bar and then take your number to your table. We got the wings and tots. Both were amazing!! We brought our dog and saw lots of other pups there as well. Really cool place and worth checking out if you're in the area. read more

We were looking for place to eat near Green-wood Cemetery and found Greenwood Park Beer Garden. This is a solid place to hang out with friends and watch sports. I ate a brisket grilled cheese sandwich which was fabulous and I highly recommend. We had some pretty great beers on tap too but many of the Sandwiches my party ordered were not available. Nonetheless, I would definitely go back without hesitation. read more

Came to meet some friends on a saturday afternoon. Big space we decided to sit inside one it was a bit chilly and there was music inside. We were a little confused at first we didn't know if someone took our order and the QR codes were kind of peeling off . there was a young lady by a register so we asked her. So you can order food with her but have to go to bar to order drinks. that's a bit annoying. Anyway we were with two kids 8&12. Still family friendly and we loved the 90s music. My daughter loved the grill cheese the guacamole was ok seems like it needed a little salt lol The chips were crispy and fresh. I absolutely loved the chili the best chili i've ever had. Nice and hearty it was given with chips at first i doubt it odd but then i dipped the chip in the chili and omg. Nice atmosphere would come again One thing I must say, they're were a few what i want to say is high school students sometimes they came by and cleared table but mostly the were just playing around like they were at a party not at work. Like playing with the hands etc. I know they're teens but work is work. Anyway we will come again read more

Nice day today watching Spain vs Saudi Arabia. Short ribs were great. Burger was great. Meatball Gavoon was supposed to have chicken in it but Louis the cashier order taker said they had no chicken . Loved all of the decorations here! Definitely a nice ambiance although being outside it did get a little windy which was annoying because our waters spilled and the last bit of my fries flew away onto the floor. We had nachos as an appetizer. My husband had the buttermilk sandwich and I had the cheesesteak. The food was good. I liked my pretzel bun. The food is definitely pricey but it was a nice experience to see all of the pumpkins and decorations here. read more

Came here for a doggy meetup and sat out at the covered patio. This place is very spacious and dog friendly (always leashed). You can order your food and drinks inside and just give them your table number. We got the breakfast wrap, chicken alla manny, and tater tots along with a Bloody Mary and grapefruit shandy which all were tasty. There's also a couple of TVs out in the patio so great to watch games while hanging out. Would love to come back but it is a bit of a trek for us but otherwise, pup def had a blast playing with other dogs. read more

Nice people, but we ordered our two burgers 50 minutes ago and no sign of them yet. I asked now and they said everything is taking an hour today, and ours should be up soon... That really should have been offered up front, and we could have made an informed decision. It also took twenty minutes standing in the bar line to get a beer. It's just not that crowded today. read more

Greenwood Park - The place is half full... - Beer Gardens Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Used to LOVE this place but you can no longer order from the table, and you have to order food and drinks separately. Makes it hard if you're eating by yourself and may lose your table. Almost like waging a war while ordering lol. Wish they would bring table service back. Or at least virtual ordering. Update, had to shout to keep my food on the table when I had to get up for another drink. Almost lost my meal to the busboy read more

Greenwood is a neighborhood gem. On a beautiful day, this is a great spot to go to and on a bad weather day, it offers a more intimate experience. Greenwood feels like a great community hang out that happens to have great drinks and food. When it's hot, the fosé that's in season is perfection. It is not too dry but has some tanginess similar to a lemonade. Get the frozen margarita with passion fruit if you're more of a tequila person. I haven't tried every item on the food menu but a few great staples are the: - BLT, ALL of their wood-fire pizzas, the mushroom risotto balls , and they have a special on wings on select days. The bartenders here are genuinely great and looking out for you. Nothing is better than a few hours here with folks you love. *Update: Recommend you try their frozen Sangria (White or red) for the warmer days read more

Greenwood Park is an awesome destination if you're looking for a spot to enjoy some beers and sit with friends. They have a fantastic outdoor covered patio and a lovely inside seating set up + seating at the bar. They have a trivia night on Wednesday's - it's very competitive and a great way to spend your night. Also on Wednesday you get a free pizza with a purchase of a pitcher of beer. Don't miss this deal! Came here to meet some friends about a week ago as the first time really meeting anyone during the pandemic. The staff was wearing masks and had separate entrances and exits to lessen any crowding. I haven't been here in a long time because I'm not a huge beer drinker, but was able to enjoy a red sangria which was pretty good. I had actually never tried a Beyond burger before and to be honest, almost didn't when I saw that it was the same price as a regular burger, but my friend who is pescatarian (but used to eat meat), said this burger was really good. I decided to go for it and switched up my fries for totes because you always switch to totes if you have the chance. My husband got the buttermilk chicken salad, and my friends ordered the Faros salad and a margherita pizza with extra ricotta. Everyone enjoyed their food - the salad was seemingly endless. I really enjoyed the Beyond burger. It looked like a real burger - I don't know that I would say it tasted just like a real burger, but it was definitely a good replacement for someone who no longer eats meat. It was juicy and flavorful. The tots thought were so so good. I really should have ordered a whole other order because they were delicious and in like tetris shapes lol. I would definitely order that burger again, though I will say I was hungry some time after (not while I was still there) and would most definitely get those tots again! read more

My experience was that the bar was fine and the outdoor area spacious and also filled with DOZENS of RATS.

RATS EVERYWHERE!!! Management and staff aware and are not phased by it. There seemed to be a designated rat stomper, who tried to keep them at bay. read more

If you like rats charging at you while you sit outside, then this is the place for you! We notified multiple employees regarding the rats and no one was surprised, they were even nonchalant about it when we told them. One of the job requirements is to stomp their feet along the perimeter of the establishment to scare the rats away, so this is an obviously ongoing issue. Absolutely disgusting! read more

The drinks are strong, and the food menu is dense. There is something for everyone from personal pizzas to sandwiches to nachos. The short rib nachos were a big hit with my table. The pretzel and fries were also very good. Service was fast, your table has number and you order your drinks at the bar and food with the host by the bar. The ambience is great. It's literally the first place in months I got to enjoy a full meal with friends and my toddler. He loved the fun loud lively vibes. Multiple televisions, big groups and many other kids. Good place to hangout with a group of friends. We went early evening on a Friday and it was pretty packed, but luckily we got a table for 3 outside. The chairs were not very comfortable which made me not want to stay for more than 1-2 drinks. We got a pitcher of red sangria which was delicious as well as some food for the table. The hummus platter was good for a group. Everything was good, but nothing really stood out. Greenwood Park - Mix of Appetizers - Beer Gardens Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

This is a tricky one. I'm not quite sure what happened although, there was a slight feeling of possible aliens or the staff all meeting for the very first time. It was a beautiful Friday afternoon - the place was packed with teachers who had been patiently waiting for the bell to ring so they could swarm over in droves. Greenwood is a cool spot - it's primarily outdoor seating - maybe a 75/25 split of outdoor to indoor seating. So yes, this was the place to be. 3 stars because I've been here before any the staff was on their game... also 3 stars because today... there was no game. It was a free-for-all. Tables with reserve signs on them, no list to put your name on & barely any table service although there seemed to be plenty of staff. There was no routine - you had to grab a staff member when they walked by because you could be sure they weren't stopping at your table. We were two people who wound up being at Greenwood Park for nearly 3 hours... and only had 2 rounds of drinks. Why only 2 rounds of drinks? Well that's because the crew was pure chaos. Most tables were experiencing the same. We would have easily had a 3rd round and possibly a 4th. It was truly an odd experience. Typically I'd recommend this place but I do have to say, go with the above in the back of your mind. Hopefully they're organized now & this was a one-off. The place has a lot of potential with an awesome outdoor space. read more

A solid spot for outdoor dining. They have a huge tent setup with heat lamps! They definitely stepped up their food game because a few years ago it was mostly bar food. Now their menu has wings, burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, salads and sides. Honestly for a place known as a beer garden, their food is also pretty tasty. My husband had the fried chicken sandwich which was really good. I had the butternut squash soup (it was cold that day!) and it was also very good. My daughter had the chicken fingers which she liked but I think it's a tad over fried. The fries were ok because it wasn't as crispy but the onion rings were really good. I've had their wings before (pre-Covid) and thought it was well made but since we ended up coming here on a cold night, I didn't want to get down and dirty with wings. Plus, I didn't want to eat with my hands. (again, Covid) They have a huge beer list (duh...beer garden) and some cocktails, wine and sangria. I've heard great things about their tater tots so can't wait to go back and try them! read more

Sitting here right now actually. Been waiting for food for 2 hours. I got a hot dog and fries. Not that busy. That's ok I guess but they have 2 lines for the bar for some reason. Makes no sense at all. Bartenders look annoyed they have to have to be here. No face of a manager to ease the tension of every table being throughly annoyed. Not looking for a free drink but ya know, make me feel not like a complete sucker. Gonna ask for a refund in about 5 minutes. Actually prolonging this review in hopes the food comes. read more

I had a good time here today, came here after our volleyball game to grab some food and watch some of the main Olympic sports today. They have a lot of TVs, indoor outdoor seating and corn hole. It was a good time, it was a little slow when we came in today and I didn't expect that, but turned out to be exactly what I needed. It picked up as the afternoon went on. The service was great and the bartenders were friendly. I got the nachos and my friend got the breakfast burrito, both pretty good. I'm a nacho fan and it was pretty good, I'd prob try the smash burger next time though! The vibe is very casual and just typical beer garden vibes, overall good time! read more

Don't come here if you expect women's sports to be shown - even if the team is the NY Liberty and it's the playoffs. My girlfriend and I came to Greenwood Park expecting to see at least one of the dozen tvs showing the Liberty vs Aces in the playoffs...but no, it was football on every tv set. We had to make a request to get them to change the channel and they put the game on the smallest tv of all, behind the bar. There were 4 of us asking for the game, it didn't happen immediately, and the request wasn't met with enthusiasm, but something like ridicule. I would encourage anyone looking to watch women's sports to go elsewhere. read more

I really wasn't expecting to be as impressed as I was with Greenwood Park. I peeped the menu beforehand and saw generic beer garden food. I don't really love beer and being around small, possibly screaming humans is not my idea of a good time. Alas, here we are. I came with a friend and her small, sometimes screaming human on an early Saturday afternoon. The beer garden, while expansive, wasn't crowded - it was still a little chilly out and they had opened maybe an hour or two earlier. We were lucky to be seated under the big tent. It got warmer and sunnier later in the day. 90s music [Blink-182, Lifehouse] was playing on the sound system [but not too loud!] and baseball was on the TV outside [no sound]. This is my kind of vibe. The staff were all masked and tables were separated fairly far apart. I had the Caesar Salad [$13.5] which was surprisingly REALLY good. I can't remember the last time I had a legitimate Caesar salad. Don't get this if you're not a fan of anchovies - they're lined up on the plate like, "how you doin'?" I added chicken so it was $4 extra. This was a big delicious salad. My friend and I also shared the Blue Fries [$9]. They were really good too. The fries were especially crispy and loaded up with blue cheese. The portion size was ample, so definitely good for sharing. I could probably do without the truffle oil - it's pretty played out and can be overwhelming. Lastly, I had a pretty excellent sour-y-ish beer (x2) that was fruity. I don't remember what it was called, but the waitress recommended it after the one I had originally wanted was sold out. Service was decent but sluggish at times. The small, sometimes screaming human started to scream toward the end of our outing. The staff was really understanding, so I appreciated that. We each paid $56 after tax and tip. I would actually love to come back. read more

This place is good for groups and has good service. However, they have a strange dog policy. They accept dogs during the week (M-Th) but on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday they DO NOT accept dogs. Overall, it was underwhelming. I get that it's a Biergarten and my expectations were set accordingly. Hand sanitizer at the entrance was empty. Staff were wearing masks. After taking our order, our waiter basically disappeared for most of the time. Nobody caring to see if our order and good were good. I had the burger and it it was pretty much as I expected- just OK. The fries were pretty good. The entertainment was watching actual rats chase each other. These were nice big, juicy rats, too- not the kind you mistake for mice. The insult came when presented with the check and was charged extra for cheese on the burger when the menu clearly states it's included. I didn't bother arguing. I figure if they don't bother keeping rats out of the place there wasn't going to be much caring for something that is deliberately entered in their system. read more

Greenwood Park - Overcharging (on purpose?) - Beer Gardens Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

This was my first time here, party of 4, arrived at 7pm on a Tuesday and we were seated right away. NYC is currently on phase 3 and this place always had an outside seating arrangement. You are provided with paper menu, plastic cups, utensils in a plastic bag, and small cardboard serving plates. This place offers typical bar food, nothing mind blowing, and they do have one salad option on the menu (Greek salad). There's an outside bar which people were line up to place their order. Seating arrangement are definitely distance and you must wear a mask if you're not seated. The food arrived in less than 10 minutes and the service was not up to par. We had to ask for extra utensils as were only provided one packet, asked twice for a drink and three times for extra blue cheese. the waiter was actually annoyed and said "didn't I bring you extra blue cheese?" - yes you did but it was not even a full serving. He replied giggling "I don't pack them"' Overall this place is a 2.5 but I give it a 3 due to its potential, outdoor seating and I'm giving the service the benefit of a doubt that the waiter was just having an off day. read more
