I've never thought that I would be craving Lebanese food, but Aladdin's brings to life that "food is a philosophy" and educating patrons about the unique cuisine from Lebanon! Tucked in middle of the Waterworks Strip Mall, Aladdin's has ample parking, seating, patio space, and flavor for your cravings. I was grabbing takeout on a work day and decided to give their menu a whirl. The online ordering is very simplistic with great photos, descriptions, and customizations. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Rolled with Cheddar Cheese, a Cheese Pita Pizza, a Diamond Baklava, and a Pomegranate Green Iced Tea. The food was ready right at the pickup time. The hostess quickly was able to go grab it from the kitchen. The Shawarma was phenomenal. Juicy chicken, sautéed veggies, and a lovely spice blend.. perfectly crisped up and hot to eat. The Pizza was on the kids menu lol. But such a fun option even for an adult. Feta and cheddar is a diabolical blend that needs talked about more... and pita pizza. Yeahhhh I'll be a kid again. Not going to lie, if homemade baklava is ever on a menu, I buy it!!! This was soooo flaky and sweet. The tea was light and refreshing balanced with the perfect flavoring. They hilariously bagged up the tea too. I thought it was forgotten but they built a contraption to perfectly hold it in the bigger bag. read more

Was guided toward the meat trio and each meat is one of the worst versions Ive had of it. Look, with the picture on my review, one of the meat pieces looked like "something else" and it isn't an entirely "out of the question" comparison. Also, cost was TERRIBLE. This "platter" was nearly $20. Final bill was near $30 including drink and a tip. Just awful. Other Aladdins locations in year's past, I've done the Chicken Shwarma Roll. Very basic dish, but for a craving was better. This was rough. Not coming back. Staff was friendly though. read more

Came here on another rainy Pgh day. We had the hummus to start. That could've been our entree, too, because of the amount of hummus and because it was so good we could've easily kept eating it. I had the chicken sambusek plate. My daughter had the Mediterranean lamb plate and my girlfriend had the rolled chicken. We shared the kibbie plate. We love getting takeout from Aladdin's Eatery in Fox Chapel, and the food is always tasty and satisfying. Unfortunately, this time there was a hiccup and their online ordering system didn't go through even though it charged our payment. Also, their phone line also down. My husband ended up waiting an extra 40 minutes while they remade the whole order when he arrived for pick up. We were a bit disappointed with the lamb side, which only came with four small pieces, but the rest of the meal was flavorful and fresh as always. The grape leaves are fantastic, really a must try there! Despite the snag, Aladdin's remains a reliable go-to for delicious Lebanese food. read more

I don't often walk into a restaurant without doing heavy reconnaissance. But in town with a large party, on valentines night with no reservations? Aladdin came through in the clutch in a big way! The food is beyond reproach. Middle eastern dishes are never short on spices and seasonings. Done well, it's is a symphony of flavor. Among the 7+ platters that came to our table, it a single one missed the mark. Hummus, beef kafta, shish kabob, and even the rice....all hits! But the star is definitely the chicken mishwi. I can't even say I know what mishwi was before today, but I won't soon forget it! Aladdin increased my appreciation for middle eastern cuisine 10 fold. It is very much worth a visit. read more

This place is awesome! The food is always fresh and so good. I really like that I can find options for all diet types here. I like the chicken pita rolls a lot. They're always hot and so good with the lemon tahini sauce. The hummus here is so good and they don't use onion or garlic which is great since I'm low fodmap. I've only ever gotten takeout but service is really fast and the inside of the restaurant is very spacious and bright. Need to go back sometime and try more things here! read more

Yum! A place outside of the city that I loved in the city. I like to get the falafel hummus pita wrap with garlic sauce if Im on the go through Fox chapel or trying to beat traffic. Very unassuming spot in the Waterworks outdoor strip mall. I have been going here for years! I love that the employees are always SO friendly and efficient when ordering takeout over the phone. I usually get the Aladdin's salad (their homemade dressing is so good), a V9 soup (9 veggies in there!), a small Baba Ganoush (it's big enough to share), and a side of veggies (to dip in the Baba). Don't skip on adding a side of hot sauce! This past time I tried the vegetarian appetizer which had a mix of more of my fav things! Prices are reasonable and the food is always fresh. Aladdin's Eatery has such lovely food and service, and a great, varied menu. We have eaten in---atmosphere is very casual, and the service is attentive and informed. Typically we call for takeout. Our favorite items are the Vegetarian Combo appetizer sampler and the Lamb Salad. Both are ample, tasty, and wonderfully fresh. Our orders have always been correct and ready on time. At this writing, the Waterworks location is open till 8 pm. I'm sure that's a good business decision, but I hope they can expand their hours sometime. read more

I hate leaving negative reviews. I try to give businesses the benefit of the doubt, especially in times like this. However after several incidents at Alladin's I find myself writing one. I reached out to the business first hoping for an explanation or an apology or something. After this last one it has left a bad taste in our mouth and we haven't been back. We dine in once in a while here but most often we order takeout. Whether we find ourselves in the area or just have a craving it's been a go to for a while. My SO and I typically order the exact same thing every time. A vegetarian combo with extra hot sauce plus an order of spicy cauliflower. The combo gives us a little bit of all the things we like. Baba gannoush, hummus, tabouli, grape leaves and falafel with pita on the side. One of the things I love most about Alladin's is their hot sauce, which I like to mix with the tahini. I always order extra. This particular time we had tried to order earlier in the week but no answer upon calling. They did have a sign on the door that they were closed due to short staff but a message recording would have been nice. We tried a few days later and I placed the order over the phone, which was read back to me and my boyfriend went to pick it up. He brought the food home and it's the first time we haven't finished everything. First, they forgot the extra hot sauce. It's amazing how they never once have forgotten to charge for it but the continually forget to actually put it in the order. Disappointing but we were hungry and anxious to dig in. The spicy cauliflower usually has sauce at the bottom of the container to soak up. There was none this time. It was over cooked and dry. The falafel was also over cooked and dry. I'm not sure if it was an issue with the fryer. The pita definitely was not fresh. I couldn't even eat the grape leaves. They were tough and off. I know they had been open limited hours that week so I'm not sure if maybe food sat around longer than typical due to that. I understand restaurants are struggling with staffing issues right now but I also feel if you are going to open you need to serve food that is fresh. We have had minor issues here and there over the years but this was the worst one where we really just couldn't even finish the food. Then the business doesn't even have anything to say about it. I guess I will turn elsewhere when I get the craving for some good falafel and fixings. read more

I haven't been here in quite awhile, but I feel like I can always count on a delicious meal here. I really haven't had anything I disliked and I had another delicious meal recently. I think they make a delicious hummus. It's smooth, flavored nicely, and goes great with the pita they serve. They don't always offer it, but they have a hot sauce that isn't very spicy, but adds an extra flavor dimension that I really like. I order it with the hummus, but it was just as enjoyable with the other foods I had. The Dawali are their grape leaves, and they too were awfully tasty. They're stuffed with rice, chickpeas, tomatoes, and covered with the house dressing and some feta. I feel like they're as tasty as any grape leaves I've had that aren't homemade. I ordered the shish kabob salad and i had zero complaints. The steak was cooked nicely and it appeared to be filet that was served with mixed greens, tomatoes, feta, and their joke dressing. I didn't get a dessert, but I know from the past that they offer a decent selection of sweets that they have displayed up front. If you're a fan of Mediterranean food, or just want something a bit different, I'd definitely recommend this spot. read more

There are many Aladdin's makes that are very tasty. For one, their food always tastes very fresh. I absolutely LOVE their hot sauce. It taste good on everything. I should have asked them if they sell it by the bottle. It's soooo flavorful. Their hummus and falafel are always good. The Genie's combo was very tasty. The rice is bomb, the chicken is tender, the salad a great is fresh component and the pickled turnips compliment well. For desert we tried their smoothie and flourless cake. Neither disappointed. Our waitress was amazing. She was very kind and pleasant. The restaurant in Ross Township has amazing natural light and they offer outdoor seating. read more

This is a local chain that serves up some really excellent Middle Eastern food. They don't serve my favorite, Sleek, but they do have great soups, salads, wraps and desserts. The service is excellent and I always feel welcomed and comfortable here. Got takeout from this place, which seemed to be relatively busy. It's one of the few places in the area to get Middle Eastern food, so I figured I'd give it a try. It was quite a disappointment. I ordered the chili, falafel, hummus, baba ghanoush, baklava, and pita. The only dish I actually quite enjoyed was the chili. It had an adequate amount of spice, came in a fair portion, and had lots of vegetables. When eating it, I felt healthy and cozy. The falafel was on the dry side but it was alright. Hummus and baba ghanoush were a bit disappointing. Especially the eggplant: no charred flavor, but it tastes a lot more like baby food. The pita was also very basic and you do not get any hummus for free, like in some other restaurants. Finally, the desserts are only okay. They forgot to put the desserts in my to go to bag, so it's a good thing I checked it before I left. Once we actually tried the baklava, it was fair. We had the lady's finger, bird's nest, Burma, and regular baklava. All were not soaked enough in my opinion, and there were not that many nuts. However, this lack of flavor did make the dessert taste healthy, which could be good for some folks. I went here for dinner on a Saturday night, the atmosphere was nice; but the service was slow and inattentive. It took 20 minutes for us to get our check and another 5 for them to come back and get the check / process the credit card. Our meals were very average, I ordered the Loubie plate, the rice was a little over cooked and it was very under-seasoned. When our server asked about the meal we weren't shy about saying it was just okay; however there was no followup on the restaurants end to acknowledge how things might have been better. Perhaps it's this location? The squirrel hill location has never let me down both in service and flavor. I'm not sure if I would return to this particular Aladdin's location, but I would return to the Mt. Lebanon or Squirrel Hill locations. Pros: price, cleanliness, value is fair for portions. Let me start by saying I really enjoy Aladdin's food. It is consistent and well-prepared. The menu is extensive with something for everyone. Soup / chili may not sound exciting to some, but Aladdin's is very good (and I'm a soup snob, making great homemade soups myself). The falafel is also very good; however, I am not able to order at all locations, due to gluten cross-contamination in a shared fryer. I have eaten at many locations, and at the Waterworks location multiple times and have to say it is my least favorite. The service at Waterworks never seems to match the quality at the other sites. On our last visit, Sunday evening, the restaurant wasn't particularly busy, but our server was slow to respond and needed to be asked for drink refills, etc., rather than noticing the need and offering. I ordered the beef kafta to which I had there a handful of times before. it was always cooked all the way through. This time it was raw in the middle and when I brought it to my servers Attention he tried to tell me that was normal. after asking for it to be cooked all the way through the manager came over and explained that it was cooked even though me and my partner could see it was obviously bright pink all through the center of all the meat! they talked down to us like we were fools and expected me to eat meat that was obviously under cooked. then they burnt it to a crisp and served it to me to which I refused! they shoved a $30 gift card at us and didn't charge my partner for his meal. but I will never return after being treated that way! read more

The menu is a bit extensive but in my opinion, its the same meats in different layouts. Kinda disappointed by the platters because the meat was little and the rice took up more than half the plate. But I loved the pita sandwiches because it had a nice balance of veggies and meat. For my family the experience was different depending in what you ended up ordering because we wanted all meals to have a serving of vegetables. This was my first trip to an Aladdin's & also my first time eating middle eastern food. We decided to stop by on a Saturday. I introduced my friends to Waterworks Mall (more importantly, Five Below!) & then we decided to have a late lunch here since our one friend is actually from Egypt- we figured he could help us order. We ordered the Kibbie & Dawali as appetizers. Wow, the Kibbie was great and full of amazing flavor. I truly didnt know what I was missing until I tried that! Our friend joked around that his mother can make it better, but I really don't know how. Aladdin's Kibbie was pretty tasty. The Dawali was okay.. a little too sour due to too much garlic & lemon (a little goes a looong way) but we put it on our fresh pita bread and made it work. Not too bad at all. For lunch, I ordered the Flavor Savor Special which is Chicken Mishwi, Beef Kafta, seasoned rice, salad & hummus. Now that's a true flavor savor! I enjoyed everything & became full pretty quickly from our double appetizer. I only finished half & the waitress was kind enough to box it for me & add SUPER fresh pita. Bobby enjoyed it later after missing out on our awesome trip. Overall, the food was flavorful & filling;. The service was okay & we had a nice time. Best restaurant in the water works mall! The prices were reasonable and the staff was very pleasant! Jessica the restaurant manager was extremely friendly and our waiter, Ben, was very attentive and helpful to us in explaining what different items on the menu were since we were first timers. We got the baba to start and it was phenomenal! (The hot sauce is a good addition to it as well) we both got the Aladdin favorites combo which had a bit of everything and it was a great choice for first visit, I know next that I will be getting the steak kabobs! The portions seemed really big but I ate every last bite and felt satisfied, not to full but not hungry still. I highly recommend this place for good healthy eating! read more

Popped in here while I was running some errands and was delightfully surprised. Service was quick and attentive. I got hummus and the falafel wrap. The falafel itself was good BUT it was slightly overpowered by the crunch of both the pickles and the beets.... one or the other would suffice. But the hummus. Wow. I honestly don't think I ever want to buy it from the grocery store ever again, theirs was THAT good. Creamy and fresh and delicious. Oh and that hot sauce???? Sounded good so we decided to stay and try it out. OMG are we glad we did!! The food was AMAZING! We started with the appetizer sampler (with a side of Aladdin's hot sauce), and a lentil soup, and everything was fresh and delicious (really good). My wife is a vegetarian and she ordered Jasmine's Favorite with the Salata topping and it was delicious too! I ordered the Aladdin's Combo with the honey mustard dressing on the side as well as some of their garlic sauce, and it was freakin' amazing! All the meats were perfectly cooked. I cannot recommend this place enough! The food and service was top notch. If your looking for a great place to eat, look no further. This hidden gem will leave you thoroughly satisfied. 5 stars, it's a 10 out of 10 in our book! We'll be back for sure!! Happy Aladdin's client over here! Had some friends over in early December before Christmas and picked up Aladdin's catering to go...ordered the hummus platter and the chicken mishwi platter. The hummus platter was plentiful and we did not finish all of it split between 10 or more people, It came with loads of pita bread too. The pita bread was not made in-house. They order it in bulk. The chicken mishwi is served on rice and it was devoured! It came with about 13-14 pieces of chicken and we probably should have ordered more. Ordering was so easy...i called 3 days ahead and told them what time i would pick up....the manager brought everything to my car for me. I tipped! Next time will order less hummus, perhaps I will go with a couple orders, not the platter. Needed more chicken mishwi. That stuff is so dang good! Overall, I love Aladdin's. read more
