We finally tried this AL TOQUE Peruvian Kitchen , a Peruvian Cuisine. They used to only operate in a Food Truck and now they have their restaurants. We came early and there were only a few of us inside sitting in the main dining area. There are plenty of customers on their Bar and a lot of in-and-out people ordering to go. We only ordered the Soltado and Fried seafood (Jalea Mixta) to try, but it took so long for our food to come out. They seemed to be focusing on the orders to go. But after trying their food, all that waiting is Worth it, the food was delicious, I really like how the Fried Seafood was cooked, Crispy and flavorful, also their Lomo Saltado was very Tender. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very clean inside, spacious, and with friendly staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking was easy, plenty around.

First time trying this place. I picked the I forgot, Yet I know it was the very top one, something something with the rib eye steak, even though I am vegan at times I am flexitarian, wjere at tomes I would eat some meat, after I broke it when I ate a goat dish; I think my brother is friends with the guy worker, and most likely he chose this place for us to eat here.

Parking was easy and the staff was very friendly. The ceviche was absolutely perfect. The potato dish was also perfect, but a few of the fries were spoiled, as you can see in the photo. The beef plate had good seasoning with the onions and rice, but the meat itself had a slightly odd taste. The chicken and rice plate was unfortunately dry. Overall it was a decent experience. I wouldn't go out of my way to return, but if I'm already in the area and hungry I'd stop by again....

As daughter of a Peruvian I can tell you this place is very good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We got there at 12pm on a Saturday and there were only two tables occupied.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were seated, but it did take a while to get service since there was only one person for all the tables taking order, bringing food,etc. That for me is a downside since being a Saturday in December the restaurant should have more personnel. We ordered Maracuya Sour and Chicha Morada for drinks, which was really good. For food we ordered Fish Ceviche, Yuca Frita and Chaufa de Mariscos (Peruvian Fried Rice). Taste was truly Peruvian style. So the quality of the food made for the service, that is why I didn't put it 5 stars. First time trying this spot out. In a strip mall with some parking, but there are lots of businesses there, so it is a little crowded. Inside the restaurant, plenty of seating, giant mural, nice ambiance, TV with sports playing, friendly staff. We found this place while looking for Peruvian food in the area. Prepared to be wowed by the full wall mural as you walk in to the right. It's just so vibrant and full of energy. It gives the place such an upbeat feeling. I ordered the Tallarin Saltados Especial, with shrimp, chicken and beef. Such a dance of flavors! Loved the sauce so much, I could drink it. Service was friendly and speedy. I look forward to trying out more dishes here.

Here's a second review from me. I had the Tallarines a la Huancaina-Pollo for the first time and it was amazing the Parmesan creamy pasta was packed with a home style comfort food experience. The chicken breast was cooked to perfection with balanced spices to compliment the pasta Honestly I wasn't very hungry when I arrived but I wanted to finish my meal due to how good it tasted. I ended up ordering one to go for my lunch tomorrow since I live 70 miles away. 5/5 stars The Chicha is also a must to order. It reminds of Christmas fall holiday flavors. I got one of those to go as well. 5/5 starts The owners were gracious enough to put a specific football game on so we can see it while we eat. Tried Al Toque while in Oceanside and it was a great find! We started with the calamari appetizer -- simple, crispy, and good. The Talla'nin Verdes-pollo was the star of the night, so flavorful and cooked perfectly. I also tried the Leche de Tigre which had awesome, bright flavors, but it's a little tough to share family style, so probably wouldn't order that one again. The Mariscos Chaufas was super tasty and full of flavor. For dessert, we couldn't resist the Alfajores -- you get a dozen in a little to-go box. They were soft, buttery, melt-in-your-mouth delicious and such a fun way to end the meal. Service was prompt and friendly. All in all, solid 4 stars -- tasty food, casual vibe, and we'd definitely come back next time we're in the area!

Absolutely delicious. The paella was packed with fresh, perfectly cooked seafood, tender shrimp, and flavorful rice that soaked up every bit of seasoning. Rich, fresh, and easily one of the best paellas I've had. Highly recommend!

Came in on Saturday evening and it wasn't too busy. Few different families so not loud at all. Food was absolutely amazing. My steak was made differently this time and I personally loved it so much more. Service has been consistent and the men always make us feel welcomed. I know I need to try something new on the menu but this has been so good. Steak with a creamy pasta, like what else could you ask for. My son had the pesto pasta and really enjoyed that. Even took home his leftovers and finished them later on that night. I mention that only because he hates left overs and that means he really enjoyed it. Will definitely be back to try something new.

I come here often and we get treated amazingly, this guys are great! Usually we order their amazing ceviche and arroz con mariscos. Their Lomo Saltado and Leche de Tigre are equally great. But today we ordered chicken rotisserie with fries and it took me back to Peru! The best chicken I've had in a long time, no more having to drive to Los Angeles for it. You need to come try it!!!

If you like Peruvian food, this place is a must try. The ceviche is here is better than my grandmas. Sorry Grandma. If you come, the Lomo Saltado ( marinated steak, with fries and rice) is extremely well prepared and generous in size. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. WOW!!! This place is fantastic. From the service to the atmosphere to the food, everything is 10/10. Randy was so kind and although the place was slammed he took the time to make sure we were taken care of, we never felt forgotten about. Also, I need to note, this place is SO family friendly- it seemed like the staff knew everyone and people were happy and hugging and having a great time. Definitely so nice to see! On to food: We got the ceviche and the lomo saltado (ribeye) both were extremely flavorful and were addicting to eat. The rice was fluffy and delicious! My partner and I were both SO full but we couldn't stop eating because it was so good! I am so happy this place is in town and has a brick and mortar, we needed great Peruvian food!!! Complete rip off Yucca fries, pollo soltado, papa huancaina, 42 freaking dollars. Basically no food. Pollo soltado has 4 tiny pieces of chicken, 8 yucca fries, this is a complete rip off. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. Also flavors are all wrong. Not sure how you open a Peruvian restaurant and not know the flavors. I have a cookbook I picked up in Cusco if you would like to refine your flavors to be actually good. read more

I love Peruvian food! love it even more when it's done well. The team here knocked it out of the park. A fairly large space with a good amount of seating. A menu that's straight to the point. The lomo saltado is a must. The green sauce is ultra addicting with a kick. I loved the seasoning on the chaufa. They've got red and golden cola here's as well. I've had their food a number of times and always left satisfied. They've got their new home location now and happy for them! Great job fellas! read more

Visited this location for lunch. Everything was really fresh and tasty. The food has large portions and the ambience was lively but also relaxing. The calamari was tender and not chewy. I ordered the rice and shrimp. It was delicious. The staff is also friendly and attentive. The Oceanside mural inside of the the restaurant gives the location a homegrown/homemade feel. read more

Hands-down, the most authentic Peruvian food anywhere in San Diego county that I have found. I had the ceviche mixto, yucca frita, chicha morada, and I also had some of my wife's tallarin con huancaina (spicy cheese sauce) and steak. The tallarin surprised me, the sauce was perfectly tailored for the noodles, and it wasn't too thick or heavy. The steak was a thin steak and worked well with the dish, solid flavor on the steak. My ceviche mixto and yucca frita were super delicious. I will say for sure that their restaurant location has superior quality to the food truck that they used to have; and even the food truck I would've given four stars out of five. Very glad to see that they were able to secure this restaurant. Space. Will be coming back for sure. read more

I'm so excited this restaurant opened up in Oceanside. My husband and I have gone to Al Toque for years when they were a food truck serving out of Five Suits Brewing in Vista. Al Toque serves Peruvian dishes like stir fries, rice dishes, etc. So excited they opened up a storefront because everything is so incredibly delicious! We ordered the platanos fritos, papa a la huancaina, ribeye saltado (stirfry), and chicken chaufa (fried rice). The entrees were incredible, as were the platanos. The hibiscus drink was yummy too. The staff was so welcoming and friendly, and so excited we were there-- they said they wanted us to feel like family. There was a muralist painting while we were there and it looks like it'll be really cool- can't wait to go back and see the finished product. We're going to go back soon! It's a very welcome addition to Oceanside-- yay!!! read more

Went for lunch today. Had the Saltado Especial ordered it Al lo pobre. Which has 2 eggs and fried plantains. Man this was really good, so fresh and so delicious. Definitely a place we will be visiting more often. Authentic Peruvian food close to home. read more

First time here and I was really impressed. The staff were super warm and welcoming. It truly felt like they genuinely cared, not just going through the motions. Ambiance was great and so was the food. I got the Lomo Saltado with beef to-go, and even after the drive home, it was still amazing. Tender beef, full of flavor, and just really satisfying all around. You can tell they take pride in making their customers feel welcome and in the good they're cooking. Honestly, it left me with such a great first impression. I'll definitely be coming back to try more next time I'm in Oceanside. Looking forward to the next visit! read more

Born and raised in Peru, and after living in California for 10 years (LA, Newport, Carlsbad, and now Oceanside), I can confidently say that Altoque is by far the best Peruvian food I've had since moving here. I've already been three times, and every visit has been a 10/10: food, service, ambiance, and overall experience. Super cool vibes as well! The yucas and chaufa are my personal favorites, but everything I've tried has been delicious. The flavors are so good and bring me right back home. From the moment I step in, I can't stop smiling, it's the closest I've felt to Peru here in California. I was there a couple of weeks ago, and I already can't wait to go back! read more

I wanted to try Peruvian food and was impressed! I can't remember the name of the dish, but it was amazing quality, fresh and fast. The service was perfect, everyone had real character. None of that fake customer service crap. They were happy to be there, which makes a huge difference. Lovely! read more

Came here for the first time Saturday night with my husband and some food loving friends. We were seated right away and there were multiple tv's playing a soccer game and the Netflix live boxing event. Our waiter was very friendly. They have a good selection of drinks: Peruvian drinks like Inka cola and I had Maracuya, a delicious juice. Would have also made a delicious alcoholic drink if they had vodka. We enjoyed the crunchy corn they placed in the table for everyone to snack on. To share we ordered the Calamar Frito (crunchy and delicious), Papa a la Huancaina (cheesy potatoes how can you go wrong?) and the Ceviche Mixto (will probably always order a ceviche on future visits). 2 friends had the Ribeye Saltado, my husband the Saltado de pollo, one had a mixed plate of fried shrimp and calamari and I had the Tallarínes Verdes with bistec. The pasta was delicious but Inwoukd try it with either the chicken or shrimp in the future. They left a bottle of Aji on the table which was spicy and delicious and I put it on everything. Definitely heading back soon. read more

We ordered takeout from this restaurant for the first time, and tried several different things. The food was amazing, i'm so glad we tried it! Everything was flavorful and balanced and just so good. Highlights: friendly, family vibe restaurant with delicious food and refreshing drinks. They have a seating area for dine-in or a bar top if you want to sit and watch the games. The staff was genuine and welcoming, I wish we had time to sit and stay. We did take out, but we didn't even get out of the parking lot before digging in! Yuca fríes are so good!!!! Lomo saltado would be if made with lomo, filet migon or even sirloin, but ribeye... why ribeye, I've never found a place make it with that in Peru. Sauces are good, especially the golden sauce. Chica is great. The bottled is the best I've had in the US. Their ceviche is so good we've gotten it multiple times and huge party platters of it a few times. But once we ordered mix and only got fish. They forgot the shrimp. Bummer. Inca always good. Bottled is best but super hard to find in the US so plastic bottle or can will have to do. If they'd make their lomo with lomo and not rib-eye this would be the place I'd recommend a lot but I'll still keep recommending others here for the Yuca and ceviche. So good! read more

This place is a must visit in North County. Both dishes were so flavorful and they give you a ton of food. The food didn't take long to come out either. The inside is still developing but they played great music and had an amazing mural. read more

Our parties were finally arrived so we were seated out on the patio. Can't complain much since we had live summer concert from the beach and the sun kissing your skin. We were offered a refreshment drink which tasted refreshing. Champagne and caviar service came after. The condiments that came with the caviar service were spot on but the vessels they were in were too big, the spoons were too chunky for the tiny diced egg whites, yokes, shallots and chives. The summer menu was much better compared to the fall menu. We enjoyed the foods thoroughly. Final bill were 2,400 for a party of five with no wine pairing. Unfortunately, this would be our last time dining here. Since the experience from reception turned us off which dampened a more superior service from the patio and the main dining room.

The lomo saltado was tender and full of flavor, while the arroz de mariscos was a seafood lover's dream. Don't miss the refreshing maracuya drink to round out the meal - it's divine. We stopped by between soccer games during my son's tournament, and the staff's warm and attentive service made our visit even more special. Disappointed Takeout Experience I was really looking forward to trying this Peruvian spot, but unfortunately, my takeout order was a huge letdown. I ordered the pollo saltado and was shocked to find only five tiny nugget-sized pieces of chicken in an $18 dish. That's absolutely unacceptable for the price. The portion was not only small, but it felt like they just tossed in whatever scraps were left. For a dish that should be hearty and flavorful, this was more like an overpriced appetizer.
