    Margherita Pizza
    Safo S.

Had a long layover in Rome so decided to get out and enjoy the city. I looked through yelp for high rated local restaurants and this was one of them. I tried the penne arrabbiata and Margherita pizza, let's dissect each of these: - The penne arrabbiata was al dente, so can't complain about that. There was good amount of heat in there. The dish was actually not bad. My one grievance is the fact that it was box pasta. I literally went to Rome to try the freshly made pasta. - The Margherita pizza was everything I hoped it would be! I had tried Italian pizza a few years back when I visited Milan, so had this flavor profile in my mind that I was clinging too and this spot brought it all back! Crispy crust, flavorsome sauce, delicious cheese and the combination of it all, a dream! Before I left the restaurant I took a vegetarian pizza to go. It was one of the pizza's that came without any sauce, it was also incredibly surprisingly delicious. Overall, not a bad place to eat. If you're looking to try home made Italian pasta, though, this spot isn't the right place for that.

Wow! Anything less than 5 stars would be a shame. If there were 6 stars, I'd vote for 6! Take your waiters suggestions and roll with it! The best meal we've had in Rome! A must visit! Food, service, location, atmosphere... it has it all.

Amazing, and weird that there's such an authentic restaurant just next to all the tourist trap restaurants. Amazing amatriciana pasta and rosemary lamb with potatoes. I liked the lamb so much I even ate most of the organ meats (not an easy thing to do unless you're my grandma!). This was my favorite meal in Italy

Great little place for dinner just outside of the tourist area of the Trevi Fountain. We have the Mussels, Clams, Shrimp and Squid appetizer. Then shared the Carbonara with Pancetta and Black Truffle. Then finished with the Carpaccio. Amazing.

Excellent pasta here. It's a little off the main road so it's not a busy place. Some of the best pasta I've had in Italy.

When we arrived on a late afternoon, we waited about 10 minutes before getting seated. To start off, we got the Limoncello Spritz (€10) and Aperol Spritz (€10), which were refreshing. For our pasta, we ordered the Fettuccine with Oxtail (€18) and Carbonara (€17). We also wanted to order two more Secondi dishes, but the waiter warned us that the pasta is filling. After we finished the pasta, we did still order the Rabbit (€19) because it wasn't something we usually see on the menu. For the carbonara, the flavor was delicious but not really my favorite pasta shape. It was also quite al dente with a chewy texture. I have to say that the oxtail was spectacular though with its juicy and tender meat sauce. While the rabbit was nice to try once, it was a bit dry with minimal meat. Overall, good spot but nothing worth waiting too long for. Also, I'd stick to the pasta here as it's all handmade. You even see them handrolling them inside. Note that they also charge €2 per person for service fee already.

The pasta was perfectly cooked, coated in the creamiest, silkiest sauce, and the Parmesan cheese was absolutely heavenly. Simple ingredients, flawless execution. I also had the berry cheesecake, and it was just as amazing. Light, creamy, not too sweet, and the berry topping tied everything together perfectly. Pure heaven from start to finish. From the food to the experience, this place is a must when you're in Rome. I'd come back again and again without hesitation.

Our hotel manager had suggested another restaurant, but I was apprehensive to try, but did later, more on that restaurant review in it's own post. I rather did what I should have done throughout the trip to, which is to search google for local reviews. This tactic I found to be much better than to trust American reviews for restaurants to visit from Youtube or even here, just because the American touristy taste tends to favor bland or Olive Garden style pseudo Italian. The real Italian taste is much different and something one needs to develop. I was familiar with European Italian food, as I had said before in other reviews that Mexico has better Italian food outside of Italy. Additionally, the good restaurants here in Italy do not open before 7 PM. If it does or if someone that looks foreign to Italy is outside trying to lure you in, it's a tourist restaurant with iffy flavor. At this restaurant my husband had the Lobster pasta and I had the spinach/ricotta ravioli, and we both were beyond satisfied. We also had the artichoke as an appetizer, and trusted the waiter with his suggestion for a bottle of wine. He must have been some genius because the wine went well with our meal. The ambience was cozy and very family oriented, however, the rain outside made it romantic for us. Another key point for this restaurant and it traditional flare was that they brought out the olive oil and red vinegar for our salad and of course olive oil for our wonderful home-made bread. I'm so glad we chose this place for those of us Americans who understand culinary cuisine.

Seafood risotto was fresh. Grilled radicchio was like stir fried. Dinner for 3 for 77 euros, impressively busy for a Tuesday night. Friendly staff, easy for English speakers. :)
