Very small restaurant - super cozy and charming. We made a reservation at 7:30, but so did several other parties. We ended up having to wait almost an hour for our table. Once we were seated, the service was great and the food was incredible. I think maybe their system allows for too many reservations at the same time. We came to this restaurant first night we arrived at Rome and we enjoyed our dinner very much. We have tried several restaurants in Rome, Venice and Pompeii, this one is the winner for sure! If I could give 0 stars I would. Didn't even get to try the food because of the poor customer service. Went there for dinner with 5 family members. The place was packed, but they told us they would have a table available in 5 to 10 minutes, so we waited. While we were waiting, another party of six, who happened to be Italian, went in and they mistakenly gave them our table. When I saw this and brought it to their attention, they acknowledged they made a mistake as the table was for our party of 6. But instead of do the right thing and give us our table, they opted to have us wait longer, stating that they didn't want to ask the other people to get up and find us "another solution." Mind you, the other people had JUST sat down and hadn't even been given menus yet. Their handling of the situation was totally unacceptable to me and my family. They have solid food here. We really enjoyed the mushroom pasta. We also tried the Amatriciana and the carbonara with truffles and I would say you should pass on the truffles bc they're not freshly shaved truffles. The caprese salad was delicious and the house red wine was quite tasty. We went for dinner 2x during our trip and found the service to be pleasant. read more

Such a disappointing experience for our last night in Italy. It started off pretty good, we ordered the house wine which was not really house wine because it was a $20 bottle instead of an $11 carafe but it was very tasty and we were happy with it! We got the eggplant parm and the waiter insisted it was soooo good because it wasn't fried which we agreed with but this would later come back to be a weird comment. For our entrees I got a truffle pasta and my husband got a bucatini in red sauce. My husbands dish was pretty good, but mine was simply not good. It had no flavor of truffle at all and although I could literally see small shreds of truffle on it, I could tell a key part of this dish was missing. I had ordered several other truffle dishes in Italy (of course), and typically found the actual shreds of truffles themselves to be more for aesthetics than actual flavor. This was the only dish in Italy I found so bland of flavor I didn't want to eat it at all. So I respectfully said I did not like it and sent it back. I ordered the cacio e Pepe instead, and from here on out the experience was painful. The owner looked like he was ready to end my life. The server made a second comment about how I must not like it because it wasn't fried.... mind you my husband and I are pretty thin and this still made me feel badly and judged. The cacio e Pepe was mediocre at best - it was all butter and oil. I like butter as much as the next person but this dish is meant to be creamy not just butter, oil, and pepper. I couldn't finish it and blamed it on me being full which was true, but we still wrapped it up and in support of the small and rather dead restaurant we ordered tiramisu for dessert and another glass of the house wine. The tiramisu was very good, and we encouraged a table nearby to order it as well. We thought that the mishap with my original dish was well and over with, and that it would surely be removed from the bill. We planned to tip accordingly despite the fact that you typically don't need to tip in Europe unless the service is exceptional which in this case it certainly was not. Upon receiving the bill we saw that my original dish which was rather expensive was still included on the bill. This with the attitude that we receive from both the owner and server really made for a more disappointing experience. We paid and left, quickly tossing the leftovers because I'm sure they were spit in.... Two stars is generous. read more

Had a long layover in Rome so decided to get out and enjoy the city. I looked through yelp for high rated local restaurants and this was one of them. I tried the penne arrabbiata and Margherita pizza, let's dissect each of these: - The penne arrabbiata was al dente, so can't complain about that. There was good amount of heat in there. The dish was actually not bad. My one grievance is the fact that it was box pasta. I literally went to Rome to try the freshly made pasta. - The Margherita pizza was everything I hoped it would be! I had tried Italian pizza a few years back when I visited Milan, so had this flavor profile in my mind that I was clinging too and this spot brought it all back! Crispy crust, flavorsome sauce, delicious cheese and the combination of it all, a dream! Before I left the restaurant I took a vegetarian pizza to go. It was one of the pizza's that came without any sauce, it was also incredibly surprisingly delicious. Overall, not a bad place to eat. If you're looking to try home made Italian pasta, though, this spot isn't the right place for that. read more

Just stopped in for a lunch on a very hot day of sightseeing. On a quiet street near Trevi. Host and waiter were very friendly and service was quick and efficient. My son had pasta (rigatoni) and I had pizza (Napoli). Both were very good...excellent choice for a fairly quick lunch with A/C, cold water, great service and very good food. read more

Amazing, and weird that there's such an authentic restaurant just next to all the tourist trap restaurants. Amazing amatriciana pasta and rosemary lamb with potatoes. I liked the lamb so much I even ate most of the organ meats (not an easy thing to do unless you're my grandma!). This was my favorite meal in Italy read more

Very quaint restaurant near the Trevi Fountain on a side street right off of main tourist areas. We received this as a recommendation from our hotel Dharma Hotel concierge. We walked right in with out reservations and had a very nice evening. I happen to not be feeling well and the kind waiter offered me hot water with lemon that made all the difference. They package my First Course (Pasta -Carbonara) and Second Course (Meat-???(Lamb)). On our walk back My appetite returned and I was able to finish my dinner when I returned to hotel. We found place following good reviews for Italian food. It was an excellent place, very traditional Italian restaurant, with bright environment and friendly owner and waiter. We felt hosted by an Italian family, food was great, spaghetti carbonara, bream fish, and eggplant Parmesan were three dishes we got, and passed our test! They were great, I wish I would get traditional lamb with potato abba chipallo scottadito with petate, if I am not mistaken in Italian spelling. We got also tiramisu for desert, very unique and home made, but more creamy, so skip it if you don't like too much cream. Overall, I give high score, and will be back there in my next trip to Rome. read more

My wife and I ate here on the advice of a local. We sat down around five in the evening after having spent all night and most of the day travelling from New York. When we entered we were the only ones there. The owner sat us down quickly and asked us if we wanted water. We naively said yes before realizing it was a €3 bottled mineral water and not from the tap. I ordered the La Papparadelle with red sauce (meat, carrot and onion). It was absolutely delicious. We also ordered a pizza to share and that was very good too. The red house wine was also very good, especially at a reasonable €5 per glass. The only disappointment was the eggplant parmagiana. It came to the table hot in a stoneware dish and smelled great. My wife felt that there was way too much mozzarella cheese and not enough eggplant in the dish, though it did taste good. Overall we had a pleasant experience and feel like it was time and money well spent (minus the eggplant). read more
