I have been coming to Ahwatukee Nail Spa for a good year and a half or two to get my brows waxed. Amy is absolutely amazing. Every time I come in, the woman up front (I assume the owner?) asks me why I don't get pedicures or fills there. I tell her I have somewhere else I go for those services. I haven't ever told her why. Hopefully she reads her Yelp reviews! Today my car is a Fletcher's getting some work done. Since Ahwatukee Nail Spa is in walking distance to both my house and Fletcher's and since I needed a fill, pedicure and waxing I thought I'd give Ahwatukee Nail Spa another chance. What a disappointment! The pedicure is lackluster. The gentleman completing this service had a decent enough disposition but it didn't seem like he cared a whole lot about what I was asking. This is the primary reason I stopped coming here for these services almost two years ago. I told him I have extra skin buildup on my big toes from wearing heels every day. Ask him if he'll take care of it. He says yes however, he doesn't. The massage was hilarious. There was no massage to it. It was literally copious amounts of lotion into my calves and feet. He painted my toenails and off to the fill in we went. At the start of the fill, I asked him to please plan to put acrylic all the way to the tip to reinforce it because the acrylics are starting to break. He then informs me that they only fill the area at the top where the nail has grown out...I'm aware of what a fill is. Much to my chagrin I've had acrylics since 1996!! At this point I said, "You know, the woman up front asks me every time I get my eyebrows waxed why I don't get fills or pedicures here and this is a perfect example of why not. You don't tell a customer no on a request like this. You also don't school them on what a back fill is. You simply do what the customer asks and if you want to charge me extra, then fine." He laughed. No kidding, full on laughed. So, at the end of the fill he asked to see my feet. Turns out he hadn't put the top coat on. So, he does this but does it in a way where you can see he's all over the place and there is top coat on my toes. I will stick to AZ Tip -n- Toes where my business is appreciated, I'm respected as a customer and my pedicures and fills result in satisfaction! Never again Ahwatukee Nail Spa. Awesome Work, RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED manicures and HORRIBLE customer service by the manager. I made an appointment with the front desk to see Angie my preferred nail tech at 11:30 am. I get there on time to be told by management that they booked me with another nail tech with almost the same name and Angie was occupied for another 30 minutes. I obliged to being taken care of by another nail tech who I assumed would be aware of the pricing for a manicure with gel, but I was sooo wrong! I validated 4 times with the nail tech that I would be paying $18 which was my norm when seeing Angie and the nail tech repeatedly told me "YES". After my nails were done I get to the front desk to pay and the manager at the front desk tells me $30 , I proceed to tell the manager the situation and she starts arguing with me versus trying to honor and own up to the fact that her nail tech was in the wrong and in fact WAS NOT aware of the correct pricing. Well, I wanted to update my old review, but guess I have to do a new one; two years later. I hate to say that the service has dropped. There is always a wait, and my very favorite nail technician has been super rushed and seemingly stressed or something. The atmosphere is changed. A mani/pedi in 50 min? For $60? She used to spend 60 min on pedicure alone. I don't know if t's new owners, or what. It's still visually lovely, just the service and attention has dropped. I'm so sad. I really like her, but....Will be searching for a new salon where they don't rush so much- I feel wanted! read more

The absolute worst manicure I ever received. I always get the dip powder so when I first sat down she decided to go straight to use the drill file to remove instead of soaking my nails in acetone first. This was extremely painful and she insisted on continuing even though she knew it was uncomfortable for me. When she started to apply the powder she said she would use the drill to smooth them out and would just use a buffer. This resulted in bad edges and an overall horrible nail quality. I tried to say something at check out but didn't receive much help. Take your money somewhere else. read more

First time visit, and nowhere at all pleased. The nail tech went too short on the cuticles and made me bleed. I asked if she could put on some kind of solution that makes it stop bleeding, she wiped up the blood with her finger and said I wasn't bleeding to begin with. She grabbed her manager and I got yelled at by the manager for accusing her of cutting too short. Worse experience ever, don't recommend it. Prices are too expensive to begin with and I believe your better off going elsewhere. Adding on to this horrible experience, I got nail fungus from this disgusting place. On my first visit, my technician kept taking personal calls during my mani/ pedi which caused it to go really long. Second visit tech asked too many personal questions ad kept asking if I spoke Spanish and looked offended when I told her I didn't . I'm not even Latina. Think she assumed I was. Made for awkward time. Have gotten lots of mani/ pedis but this was only place I got a nail infection after (2nd visit). Not sure what went wrong but tried to call and inform them about it and never got it addressed. Maybe techs are too distracted to focus on cleanliness. read more

I really like Ahwatukee Nail Spa! Regardless of who I see, they always do good job and I leave happy! They really understand how to properly clean and shape nails. I never have to explain multiple times what I'm looking for. I also love how quick they are! They do a phenomenal job while not taking forever. I want to be in and out! The other day it was only 30-40 minutes for my gel manicure! This same service sometimes takes 1.5 hours at other salons. The only downside is they are pricy. It's $30 for a gel manicure and if you need your previous gel removed, that's an additional $5. Another salon I got to in Scottsdale is only $25 for gel, and they do not charge to remove your old gel as long as you are getting gel again. read more

Had a Mani / pedi done. The manicurist must have been tired because she was in a bad mood. I don't mind having both ni/pedi done at one time but to lean sideways and hold my arm up so they are comfortable or can get the job done quickly, isn't my idea of a relaxing service. You want me to cure the gel but can't be bothered to turn the lamp so my hand can be in the at a comfortable angle, no thank you! And don't make a face at me when I turn it. By the way, the lamps need replacing the one I had kept coming apart. I felt like it was going to fall into the foot bath too. And now I have multiple hang nails because of the way my cuticles are trimmed. I did enjoy the pedicure and even got enough attention to get some art work added. Terrible first experience my nails are ruined not what i wanted at all tried to tell her what i wanted but she wouldn't listen and continued to do as she pleased and got offensive when i told her this isn't what i desired she cut me with the drill as well. Great job at doing nails but the younger girl (early 20s?? maybe barely even 18) is very rude. Asked her how her day was going and she looked at me as if I had just asked her if she was sexually active. Also, said straight to my face how weird my hands were (not a big deal) but the part that really got to me is that I have an issue with shaking and tremors, and instead of asking if I was okay or even just asking if I could try a bit harder to control it, the young lady acted as if I was doing it on purpose/drugged out. Worse experience ever! Ver rude technician cut my skin while she was doing my manicure because she was too busy looking to see what other technicians are doing! The pedicure design that I paid extra $10 for just one toe is looking like a child did it. I could of done a better job myself!!! You know I went here for a couple of years then my favorite girl left. Then I went to Sam and I loved how thorough she was. But I had to take about 6 months or so off because I lost a toenail from workouts. Anyways went back this mid September and now.... just wait til the end to find out why I'm not going back. Went to this salon to try and relax with my grandma after a hard day of work and went in and from the minute we stepped in the salon we were treated poorly. People were being turned away an hour before they closed and the nail styalist made it her duty to tell me what i wanted and fighting me on my decisions. I had to have another stylist end up doing my nails. My grandma was being yelled at the whole time for not "relaxing" enough after having her hands manhandled. There is always a wait, and no point in making a reservation because they don't schedule appointments effectively. Came in at 12 and was told they were available at 2, so made an appointment for 2. then when I got there I waited an hour and 30 min. I ended up just leaving with my nails not done. Great experience here! I was a walk in and they were able to take me right away with just a short wait for a technician. The owner Susan introduced herself and made sure I was taken care of and comfortable. Place is very clean and good selection of colors in regular polish. I love purple and they had choices in bright and soft shades. Nicely decorated and pleasant atmosphere. Nice massage chairs! Had a manicure pedicure and was done in a hour. Worst manicure I've ever gotten. Went in for a mani/pedi. The salon is clean and nicely decorated. The pedicure was fine, the tech was pleasant. My manicure on the other hand was severely lacking. My nails are uneven lengths, she only trimmed some cuticles, didn'tpush back thr cuticle al ok ng the nail bed at all, didn't smooth out the nail bed. When I pointed out these issue she said it will look good when polished. When she started painting my nails I thought something was wrong with the polish. It was streaky and lumpy. She kept putting more layers on to try to cover the nail. 6 layers later I asked her to redo it with a different color which was disappointing because I liked the original color I picked and they didn't have anything else close. This time I watched her paint my nails. It wasnt the polish, it was just horrible technique. Short jabbing with the brush instead of strokes. It looked awful again. I tried to point out the issues again and she told me it looks better with the top coat... it didn't. While I waited for it to dry I started to notice all the issues. She hadn't gotten all the old color off in some places so I have turquoise spots at the edge of pink nails. She didn't paint to the side edges of many nails, she got polish on my skin around the nail and didn't clean it up. There are rough patches due to her painting "technique" and the cuticle not being pushed back. I got annoyed that I wasted $65 and just left. Took the polish off when I got home, I would rather have bare nails than how awful they looked. Needless to say, very disappointing. read more
