The staff is friendly and so many items are ready as grab and go items from their refrigerated area otherwise you can order from the menu and they move quickly to fill your order. Great options that span from salads to poke bowls to sushi bentos that will satisfy your craving for various types of fresh fish. They predominantly work with Salmon, Ahi, and Hamachi, although they sometimes will have other offerings such as tako (octopus) on their menu. If you get there early they often will make breakfast bentos that have staples like spam or sausage with eggs and rice at an extremely reasonable price but don't wait too long or they'll be gone quickly. My absolute favorite has to be the sumo bowl which is a very generous sized poke bowl topped with spicy ahi. You can even choose the type of rice that you want and that also includes sushi rice (my fave!). At a price of less than $12 you absolutely cannot go wrong with that option. For those less hungry but still wanting poke, you can opt for a smaller poke and rice combos that are sometimes in the grab and go area for around $5/6. My go-to is the salmon/hamachi salad with a side of sushi rice. It is my absolute fave!! The lettuce (romaine) is also always consistently fresh and crunchy. Just ordered 2 Ahi Katsu bentos today and both ahi bentos had overcooked fish. It was dry and I had a hard time putting down 2 pieces. The outside batter was dark brown so I could tell it was left in the fryer a little too long. Other than that, the shrimp tempuras the mandoos were good. Hmmm both fish are fresh but brown rice a bit tough to eat because it's cold. But for $14 no complaints. My husband bought the Spicy Salmon and Maguro Bowl with white rice. Ahi and vegetable is one of my go-tos for poke bowls. I go to the kalihi location more often and it's a restaurant, unlike this location which is a take out counter in the lanai food court. The lanai food court in Ala Moana is definitely the more chic of the two food courts, but it is sometimes hard to find a table and there are a lot of good options. My friend and I decided on ahi and vegetable though and we both like their spicy ahi/ikura combo. I like the consistency and flavor of the spicy ahi and the choy sum banchan side is a nice complement. My one gripe is that the prices posted are not current. I think it was like 75 cents more expensive, which I guess isn't a big deal, but it's irritating when something costs more than what you were expecting it to cost. This is now like a $17 poke bowl. The service was decent and quick. I got a drink next door. I think I like trying other things when I am at alas, so idk if I'll be back soon. In fact, I'd probably go to the kalihi location again before I come back here. Also, I'm pretty sure Kirsten Titus from tiktok gets her sushi from here. Lol. read more

I don't actually love their "vegetable" option though (raw fish over a very boring salad made exclusively of romaine and nothing else). I would recommend sticking with their rice bowls or nigiri. Their chirashi bowl was pretty tasty and fresh. The sushi rice was cooked well but could have used more seasoning as it tasted rather plain. All the fish is fresh, never frozen, which is great. Near closing time, their nigiri and bowls are $2 off, which is a nice way to save money at dinner. Compared to other poke/sashimi places I've had on the island, I'd give this 3.5 stars. read more

This location is convenient if u want poke but don't feel like walking to Foodland farms down the other end of Ala Moana. The bowl is comparable in price to foodland but has a side of yummy greens. Tofu salad will make u feel a little healthier. Its really just slices of firm tofu on greens. Sea asparagus and dressing make it yummy. I think with tax and everything, the plate with salmon, hamachi, and ahi came out to under $25 per person. If you pay with cash, you also get a small discount. Quality is good, the portions are pretty large for what you pay for, and the fish is super fresh.
