This has become my go-to place for a clean post-gym feed, no matter what phase I'm in. They've got tons of healthy, super-clean options at reasonable prices. Perfect for when you want real good food without all the sauces and hidden salt & sugar. On low-carb, high-fat days when I'm relying on good fats for energy, the Salmon Sashimi Salad hits the spot. You get twelve thick (about 1/8") slices of salmon sashimi on a bed of crisp greens. The fish is fresh, buttery, and satisfying. They also have hamachi and ahi sashimi options if you like variety. On glycogen refuel days, the Chirashi Bowl is my go-to. Cubes of ahi, salmon, and hamachi with ocean salad on a bed of sushi rice, or brown rice when available. It's clean, flavorful, with a nice balance of clean protein and carbs. If you're really hardcore, they even offer tofu on greens. Though honestly, water and cardboard might taste better. It's a hard pass for me. Hahaha Their Hamachi Kama Bento with a side of Teriyaki Chicken and Rice is another solid choice. The kama portions are generous and grilled just right. They also sell sides like kimchi, natto, and ocean salad, which are great for adding some variety to your meal. Pro Tip: All meals come with miso soup but you have to ask for it. Happy clean eating!!

Hamachi bowl - Ala Moana special

The food is good, with fresh ingredients and great flavor. The poke-style bowls are made to order, and take a little while for prep. You can get them with either regular white rice, sushi rice or brown rice. They offer a special Hamachi bowl at Ala Moana, so of course, I had to try it. The fish is fresh and expertly cut and layered over warm rice, along with sliced ginger and ocean salad. They also offer a variety of both hot and cold items, with many prepackaged for a quick grab and go lunch or dinner. This is a great place for a delicious meal anytime.

Ahi and vegetable is located at Ala Moana shopping center in the food court by Macy's. I stopped by to pick up some fresh sushi on a Friday during Lent. I was pleasantly surprised how fresh the fish was, and how reasonable the prices were. You're able to order from the menu or you can grab some of the premade ready to go sushi. The service was fast. Since they're located in the food court, they have tables there to eat in, or you can take your food to go.

Once again 5 stars, for this $12 SUMO poke bowl! Guaranteed to hit a spot and it even comes with a cup of miso soup! Definitely be back for more of this!

    Salmon and Ahi. So good!

I used to visit their Kalihi location in the past, but this one in Ala Moana is way more convenient. Their fish is always so fresh and service is quick. My go-to is the salmon/hamachi salad with a side of sushi rice. It is my absolute fave!! The lettuce (romaine) is also always consistently fresh and crunchy. Top it off with the slices of salmon and hamachi and it is a winner. I usually get it with the vinaigrette dressing and it's perfect. I haven't tried many other things, but every now and then, I'll get the salmon and ahi nigiri that they have in their refrigerated section. That one is good too, but the rice can get a little hard since it's kept cold for a long period of time.

Located inside the food court Level 2. Seating area is shared with rest of the food court. Washroom located at the back. Fresh poke bowls. Good quality for the price. You can build your own or take one of the pre- prepared ones. Fast service , quick

Fish quality is so fresh! The hamachi was very delicate and light. Price was great as well.

Tempura bento $8.99! Great deal and tasty! Very filling!

Great deals for their pre packaged/bento items. To me they have the best deals of all the restaurants at that food court. Way better deals than musubi cafe. Check the menu out and let me know your thoughts.

Food A Go Go Chirashi Bowl $15.00

The business is located at Lanai Food Court which is across Macys. Food court has lots of tables and chairs inside and outside for all eateries. There is chiller with prepared poke bowls and other food.Menu with variety of bentos that they make. My order was poke bowl which rang up right away.

    Daily "Mushy" sumo bowl
    Truthful R.

I stopped by Ahi & Vegetable and was originally looking at the fresh sushi, but the staff pushed the daily special spicy ahi sumo bowl on me. The service seemed friendly at first, but in hindsight it felt dishonest -- like I was being steered toward something they knew wasn't fresh. The bowl itself was a complete disappointment. The poke was chopped into mush, the taste was inconsistent, and it had a mix of ocean funk and spoiled smell. Right after eating it, I ended up with a stomachache and what felt like food poisoning. At first, I thought maybe that's just how they prepare it, but after getting sick, I'm convinced something wasn't right. The "daily special" honestly feels like leftover poke that gets chopped up and sold cheap to move old product. The portion is big, but that doesn't matter when the quality is questionable and the food makes you sick. I would never recommend eating or buying from here. Save your money and your stomach.

Storefront... one of the vendors at The Lanai (food court on the Mall Level of Ala Moana Center)
    Nadine C.

Dinner at Ala Moana Center in Honolulu, Hawaii... The largest outdoor shopping mall in the world is right here on the Island of Oahu! ...and there's FREE parking! One of our high school classmates was visiting from Iowa, and we decided to go to The Lanai (food court) on the Mall Level. It's located at the Macy's wing on the Mauka (mountain side) of the mall. Everyone chose what they wanted to eat: burgers, dimsum, Garlic French Fries, musubi, etc. There are so many vendors here at this clean venue. I think it's less crowded than the Makai Market Food Court, and the convenient restroom is probably cleaner because there are maybe fewer users? Haha! I chose Ahi & Vegetable because I have been to their original location in Kalihi. I know that they have fresh fish and veggies! This time, I didn't want to eat rice, so I got the Imitation Crab Salad... not bad with cucumber and tobiko! The dressing was alright! Service was efficient and friendly! I will return soon!

Delicious fresh sashimi bowl! Loved how savory and flavorful it was. Kind service. As others have mentioned, it was a bit hard to find, but you can ask around and it is in the food court prices are quite reasonable!

    Nigiri Deluxe 8 piece
    Jackie K.

Picked up the eight piece nigiri sushi for lunch. No line today. The nigiri is kept in a refrigerated section and there are many choices. You can also have sushi, nigiri rice bowls, and bentos made to order. Area is nice and clean. Nice lady emphasized that the fish is fresh and never frozen!

Even with a decent amount of seating, there is minimal space so they ask that you leave your strollers outside. When we called the first time saying our daughter was asleep they arranged everything in order to fit the stroller inside. The second visit, I had an even bigger stroller because it was a double stroller for my daughter and son. When I said my son was asleep they again, quickly tried to arrange space for the stroller until we realized he woke up. I truly appreciate them being so welcoming because I've come across many establishments that are not especially towards kids. As for the food, the first time the tonkatsu was a miss for me. I was comparing it to a popular spot on the island that books out months in advance that I tried just before my first visit here and it just seemed a lot more oily and not as tender. We were actually going to eat at the other business again but with two kids and walking non stop on our trip already, I was so happy we had an option closer to us. Both times, we were coming from Hilton Hawaiian Village. They have the cutest car bento boxes for the kids, and they let you choose the car color. My daughter loved the mini umbrella that came with her plate. My son was days before turning 1 year old so a lot of things ended up on the floor and even then, they were so kind about it. The best thing though for my husband and I AND my son, was the loco moco which we were told was limited and a new item for dinner since it was primarily only served as a lunch option? The flavor of the gravy alone was sooo good and rich. My son ended up eating my whole portion of rice and gravy with no crumbs left behind or on the floor lol. The other katsu items we ordered were nice and lightly coated and were not heavily oily at all. The only thing that I felt lacked was their curry especially in comparison to their gravy. I would definitely recommend coming here and I can't wait to come back. That was one of our favorite new dishes this trip and we come every year!

I got the pork loin with shrimp combo (the mixed portion instead of the large), and everything was perfectly crispy, flavorful, and satisfying without feeling too heavy. One of my favorite parts was grinding the sesame seeds myself in the little ceramic bowl with the wooden grinder, then mixing in the tonkatsu sauce. It made the whole meal feel interactive and intentional, and the sauce was SO good on the pork loin. I also ended up getting a refill of the cabbage because the sesame dressing they served with it was honestly addictive. I went around 8 PM to avoid the dinner rush and was pleasantly surprised I got a table pretty easily. Taking my time with the smaller mixed portion made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable instead of rushed. Overall, really delicious food, great atmosphere, and one of my favorite meals I've had in Waikiki so far. Pictured are the before and after of my dish. Probably a better "go with friends place" than a date.

Very random one morning after stopping by kona purveyors in Waikiki, I went to the restroom and while my husband was waiting for me he decided to randomly check if they had any reservations available and we were able to get one for the next day! Getting a reservation is definitely the way to go, I've seen people wait in standby however seating is not guaranteed since they prioritize those who have a reservation. The service was amazing! They are constantly checking up on you to see if you need anything else. I like how they offer different kinds of miso soup. I personally had limitations due to my shellfish allergy, but it was amazing! The katsu we ordered was one of the biggest one that they offer. It's crazy how big the katsu was and surprisingly it was super crispy, light, and even juicy in the inside! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to try katsu in hawaii!

Izakaya Mitch's specializes more in cooked dishes while the other side is more about the fresh / raw fish. But that didn't stop us from ordering the assorted sashimi. All the fish were from Japan and yes you can taste the difference. The fatty tuna was obviously my favorite but even the regular tuna and the hamachi was so buttery, it just melts in your mouth. Plus, it comes with real wasabi. Not horseradish, real wasabi. For the cooked dishes we got the hokkaido crab tempura with a side of matcha salt. One of the best tempuras I've ever had. The kamameshi, a rice dish with their fish of the day. We got the half order and it's kinda like a bibimbap where they mix the rice for you at your table.
