It looks good in concept, but wow- the burnt broccolini was served cold but also spicey af, hummus has weird and extra sweet date paste on it plus some other overly lemony stuff on top and drinks were small pours and everything was counter service (including pour your own water service) and for 2 apps, a beer and a glass of wine we paid $65. This restaurant is located in the CAMP. You have to order up front before being seated, which is kind of annoying because if you want to add more stuff , you have to use the QR code or ask one of the servers. However, the servers come around often so the service was great! We ordered the Caesar salad, the burger with spicy fries and the chicken sammie with garlic fries! The Caesar salad was a 5/5! Exceptional dressing and flavors! The burger was so good and had a little kick to it because of the peppers in it! We preferred the garlic fries over the spicy ones. The fried chicken Sammie was a 3.5/5 - nothing special about it! But the food was really good and will definitely be back to try more stuff. It was just a tad bit loud in the restaurant and outside. We came to The Camp on a busy Friday night and most places had a long wait. We decided to order food to go from AhbA and eat upstairs at the rooftop bar. The drinks were good and the vibe upstairs was relaxed. There was some fantastic live music (can't remember the band's name) too! The girl at the kiosk did notttt know what she was doing :( I asked her about their happy hour prices and she said someone had just taken all of the menus so she was listing options off the top of her head. She mentioned a purple lemonade, but couldn't remember what was in the lemonade. Then when she showed me the bill I asked her if it was happy hour pricing and she said we had one more minute and asked if I still wanted to wait a minute to get the pricing. I think the whole interaction was kinda silly bc girl whattt hahahaha we were talking about happy hour the whole time of course I was expecting that pricing if I'm ordering off that menu, right ?? You order at the front and there's seating inside the restaurant or in the patio. You take a number and they bring the food out to you. Self-service water. The staff is not friendly the man at the door taking my order was rude and talked down to me when I didn't order correctly and asked for a table instead of placing an order. The burger was good, but it was a bit too salty for my taste and needed some lettuce/tomato. The Cesar salad was great and is definitely my favorite item from here! For appetizer, we got the chicken wings. My boyfriend enjoyed them a lot, however I thought they were a bit dry. Service around here is great!! We wanted to try this place out after hearing about it! We came on a Wednesday night around 7PM. There was a long line of people and there wasn't anyone to ask questions about how the process works but I could see you could just walk into the bar. I walked up to the bar inside on the left and asked the bartender how it works. She said you wait in the line outside, give them your order, they give you a number and then you can choose any table to sit at. The vibes are very fun, hipster & kitschy. We ordered the charred cauliflower, Caesar salad & the burger. For drinks we got the spritz & a mezcal pineapple drink. The spritz was light, refreshing, a little sweet, a little bitter. The charred cauliflower had all the makings to be really good but for some reason the flavor was lacking and the cauliflower was kind of soggy. I didn't get the charred part as much. The sauce on the bottom was pretty good but something else needed to be added to pack a punch of flavor. The Caesar salad wasn't as crispy as I'd like and the dressing was decent once you got enough of it. Overall like the cauliflower, it had all the makings but was lacking. I think there's ways to punch it up for sure because I love a good Caesar salad. Now for what I loved - the burgerrrr! The flavor profile was just there. The meat was tasty & tender. The sauce on it was tangy. I loved that it had pickles. It was simple and that's what made it great. The service was great & the bartenders were there to answer any and all questions we had. AhbA seriously delivers every single time. I'm such a big fan of their Laguna Beach location so I was pretty excited to check out their spot at The Camp! Clearly I loved it just as much considering I've brought my girlfriends twice in the last week. Parking at The Camp/The Lab on a Friday / Sat evening can be a doozy but sometimes you luck out! It's located towards the very back of The Camp tucked in its own cutesy corner - hard to miss considering it is literally so beautiful. AhbA has absolutely everything I look for in a fun restaurant - moody lighting, tasteful eclectic decor, and a simple menu full of yummy food. Service is always above and beyond and the vibes are just perfection. Whether it's a girls' brunch, family outing, or romantic date night, I highly recommend. Never loved a place as much as I love AhbA. Be sure to stop by their rooftop bar Buzz's (take the stairwell on the right side). Such a fun way to end your meal and talk with friends and fam. My husband and I attended the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride in Orange County this past Saturday. The event itself was absolutely amazing and supports an incredibly important cause, raising awareness for men's health alongside riders in over 100 countries around the world. Unfortunately, our experience with the food vendor was extremely disappointing. A female employee working the booth was unnecessarily rude to us while we were trying to order. Her attitude was so noticeably poor that the people we were with, as well as others standing in line, could not believe how she was speaking to customers. At an event with such a positive purpose and such a great community atmosphere, her behavior really stood out in the wrong way. We understand food service can be busy and stressful, especially at large events, but there is no excuse for treating customers with disrespect. This review is not a reflection of the DGR event itself, which was fantastic. However, I do hope the vendor takes this feedback seriously and addresses the customer service issue with their staff. A little kindness and professionalism go a long way, especially when representing your business at a public event. read more
