I had my first visit to Ahba and it definitely won't be my last! From the moment I walked in, Bri and Lanaea made the entire experience so welcoming. Food was decent but I only tired the AhbA burger a bit too greasy for me but other than that it was good. The service was good and quick and the vibes were nice. Not too long of a wait. read more

Service left much to the be desired. Arrives with a group of 3 and asked for a table, the unfriendly hostess sternly replied that we order at the hostess, pay and then they'll seat us. Ok no problem. Then she shared that they were out of any menu'd items containing chicken. Ok, still no problem. We were eyeing the brunch menu but was told that it's only available during the weekend. Ok fine, still no problem. I'm 5 months pregnant, massive in size, and needed to quickly use the bathroom before placing an order. I noticed the public restrooms to the right with a code panel. I asked her for the bathroom code when she provided and left my party to tinkle. Came back and my friends shared that they actually had a restroom for diners inside. Why did the hostess not share such information, I have no idea. Went ahead and tried placing our order. Since they were out of chicken, i opted for the cauliflower pita sandwich. To my surprise, the hostess shared that they were out of pita as well :( I felt like we were going about this the wrong way and should have asked what they had to offer us instead at this point. So I went for my third choice, the wagyu burger. Thank all that was holy THAT was available. We then asked to be seated on the roof but THAT too was unavailable. My friends were hoping for a Bloody Mary but with the way events were unfolding, it was probably safe to say they weren't serving any as the bar was closed. So we sat ourselves and the food came out quickly. The only thing that saved this Yelp review was the burger. Cheesy, creamy and delectable with the cheese and aioli, the caramelized onions all tucked neatly inside a soft brioche bun. There was a kick to the burger which i thoroughly enjoyed. Aside from everything, the burger was surprisingly great. However, our first impression of the service and menu left us wondering whether a second attempt would be worth the try. read more

I came in this past weekend and had a great experience. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was welcoming, and everything came out quickly. Lanaea help us out and did an excellent job. Delicious burgers and a must try if you are ever in the Costa Mesa area. Their fried chicken sandwiches were good, but nothing spectacular. This restaurant is in a nice area with many other shops and restaurants. There is a large lot for parking, but be aware that it's still very busy and can be hard to find parking. The staff were nice and the ambiance was lovely. read more

I am not sure if this walk up model works for this space. I love their Laguna location and go there often so when I heard of the one at the camp I was eager to check it out. We got there too early for the dinner menu so we decided to walk around. When we arrived at 4:30 we thought we would start order what we could. We ordered the Cesar salad and the whipped feta as both were on the lunch menu. As it got closer to 5 we tried ordering from the QR code on the table placard- with no luck, the entire menu is not listed through that code. When we went up to the front to order- each person in line had questions regarding menu items and each time the hostess(?), server(?) would leave the station with a line of people waiting to order and check on the items in question. After ordering and the meal proceeded- the ambiance was just way off from the environment- extremely loud electronic music made it a hard environment to be in for a prolonged period of time. Service was scarce with little interaction. We additionally ordered the steak frites, the peach burrata, and the stone fruit lemonade. I think the most disappointing was the stone fruit lemonade. It's just not, it's lemonade colored pink I'm not sure what stands out about to make it stone fruit. The peach burrata was tasty, I loved the whipped feta- wish it came with more bread or there was a menu option to purchase additional bread. The salad was meh, it was missing a salty element? The saving grace of this entire experience was the Steak Frites. So delicious, we used the fries to eat the remaining feta. read more

Food is very reasonably priced especially for the quality and quantity. They have some really unique dishes with authentic flavor except for the rigatoni if you see my photo the second one is all the left over cheese, there was way TOO much cheese than necessary in that dish so if you don't want to be overloaded on cheese, skip that pasta. Also, when we went to the Laguna location and had the worse experience, you can see my review for that one separately but because the food was so good we wanted to try this location for a better experience. Location of this one in terms of ambiance was much nicer, it's in the CAMP OC so you have little cute shops to explore before or after dinner. However, the same issue we experienced at Laguna happened again here where the main course came out before the appetizers and the appetizers came out within few minutes of the main course which to us is so weird like why would they not course it out properly or do they want our food to go cold?? And then the waitress said oh we're tapas style so everything just comes out when it does and sometimes at the same time except your menu clearly says appetizers, mains and distinguishes those so if you were tapa style your menu would just have tapas or apps written on it not a section for both apps and main courses. I was gong to give a 3 star for this experience but the manager Bri really made up for the fourth star because of her incredible customer service that I haven't experience like for a while. At the end she came and apologized that their tapa style model was not made clear to us and gave us a $30 gift card and a free carrot cake dessert. She didn't have to do that but she did so I really appreciated that apology! read more

Look. I like Ahba. Vibes are great, food is good and drinks are better. Every time I've been here during "off-times" where you order at the hostess stand or bar, it's been a challenge. Servers are rude, they act like they're bothered, & are honestly lazy. Tell me why I had to buy a $7 bottle of sparkling water when all I wanted was a single glass of club soda or whatever they have in their soda gun. Tried to order drinks for my group and mentioned that the hostess should follow me to my table to check ID's. She asked me just to go grab them and bring them to her. Responsible! read more

This place is behind Folks Pizza. You do have to order up front at the host to be able to get seated- it's all open seating. If you want to reorder then you have to go back to the host to reorder. Anytime you're there before 5pm you'll get good seating but the menu for drinks and food is limited! The Wagu Berger is tiny but it's really flavorful - I enjoyed the crunchy cucumber instead of pickle. The fries are crunchy. I would come back for the burger and the cute bungalow ambiance! read more

Had lunch at AhbA yesterday, my first time there. The food was amazing! Had the smash burger and fries, the cucumber salad, and a cardamom horchata latte. Let's start with the service: the staff was friendly and welcoming, and helpful in orienting us to their style of service. You order at the front kiosk before you sit down, but it's an actual human being who takes your order. Not a computer pad. She was able to help us customize our order with no problem. She pointed out that the water service was on a counter off to the side, which was nice because we could get water whenever we wanted it. The food was all delicious! And the latte! I would go back to this restaurant just for that! Hint: order it extra hot. Do check out other people's reviews and photos to see how yummy the food and beverages are. The ambience was so fun. It was laid-back and comfortable, but definitely a step up from a fast food place. Do read what other people have said about the location. It is a bit tricky to find. Because we came at lunchtime on a weekday, we were able to find parking. But others have mentioned difficulty with that. Fortunately, my daughter knew where the restaurant actually was. With only one wrong turn in the maze of shops, we were able to locate AhbA. As you can tell from what I've written above, it was well worth those minor challenges. I will definitely be back. read more

wow their smash burger is by far one of the best smash burgers i've had in OC. to make it even better it's a double wagyu patty smash burger cooked to perfection. the buns are are soft & also crispy. the burger comes with thin & crispy fried. i'd recommend adding the parmesan for $1.50 more. the service was extremely friendly. Ryan recommended their most popular items on the menu & was so patient when we were ordering. he recommended the whipped feta & it did not disappoint! I can see why it's one of their most popular. the ambiance is amazing on the inside and also the outside. plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. i'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a yummy smash burger. read more

Located in the camp towards the back near the pizza place and the purre boutique is an order sit down concept with fresh and cozy ambiance. Daniel was very helpful with suggestions upon ordering. The little gem Cesar salad was generous with the lettuce which was great, the rigatoni very cheesy, and the chicken Sammie petty spicy and a bit messy but everything was tasty. Food comes out quickly however we did get there early at 5 pm for dinner. There's a bar and the place is dog friendly. Plenty of parking in the lot. read more

The ambiance is nice but the workers are rude. The restaurant was completely empty and it took 10 minutes for anyone to even walk up to the host stand. Then the host just stood there and stared at us. We weren't aware that you order at the host stand so I asked for a table for two and he seemed very annoyed and told us we order there. I only ordered one drink and it took 20 minutes for them to even let the bartender know. I would opt for the Laguna beach location instead they are much nicer and food is better. read more

delicious, savory food. My favorite at dinner is the braised lamb app, but the brunch has so many delicious options you really can't go wrong! whipped feta, french toast, labneh toast- all phenomenal. Not bad but overpriced for what it is - i wasn't too hungry so I opted for the half chicken with the idea that I could save what I didn't finish. I liked the chimichurri but nothing else really stood out. I also really can't explain why this was a $30 meal read more

Went here to get one drink with a friend. From the area, and had seen this on a post on Instagram. Wasn't expecting anything crazy.... but I got crazy amazing vibes! Nick, Olive, Borna, Isaiah, Vinny, and Jordan all deserve a raise. They recommended the best food and drinks. Started with a Coconut Margarita, but also tried the other drinks that were recommended. They not only served drinks, but knew all about the history of the location of the restaurant, food, and where the alcohol was coming from. The botanical gin was delish. Had some chicken kebabs, and it was just the cherry on top. I would also reccomend the fries, and WHIPPED FETA. They play amazing music, constantly checked in on us, and went far above and beyond their duties at this restaurant. They made what was going to be a one drink with a friend feel like a little gathering with everyone. They knew answers to every type of question down to where their produce was sourced! How amazing . I would 10/10 recommend coming here with a friend, and anticipate staying to curate an immaculate night. I genuinely have never received such amazing service and these 3 people were fantastic. I am coming back, and I'm bringing more friends. AND BY THE WAY...... JORDAN WORKS WAY TOO HARD TO BE HERE. HE WAS HUSTLING! HE IS THE BEST! read more

I NEVER write reviews, unless a server asks me to and it was great service. So this is how you know I had a rough experience. Now I'm pushin 30 so I'm starting to mature and appreciate what it means to go out to a restaurant and expect a certain standard of service. Especially when you go out to celebrate something. I made a reservation here at AhbA because one of my bridesmaids raved about how good the food was. I will say the food was delicious, can't say anything bad about that. The service however was atrocious. I've never gone to a restaurant and been called "bruh" so many times. Our server was a young man who NEVER ONCE checked on us and didn't even approach us after we were seated for 30 MINUTES! That's not a hyperbole either- I think he genuinely he forgot he sat us (a party of 10 btw). To top it off he would drag his feet in his slides he was wearing and roll his eyes when we asked for anything. Now I know this restaurant isn't fine dining or anything, but I feel like servers should not be in basketball shorts and Nike slides I was a server for quite a few years and I know there is a certain level of professionalism for staff and it felt that was simply lacking at this place- at least on this day it was. I really hope that this review can act as a catalyst for some positive change for this restaurant because the food was so good. Nonetheless, the poor service and lack of professional standards for staff is going to ruin this place. read more

Delicious! Got the cucumber salad- it was delicious and crispy. Grilled chicken was awesome. Love that this place is seed oil free. Only complaint would be parking read more

The food is all great but the service is confusing. Every employee that dropped things off ran away immediately after when we wanted to request silverware for our salads or water. It's clear the employees probably don't make enough to care but I think the owners/managers should insure every table has those little napkin and silverware tins as well as just have a water station. read more

This place was so freaking good. Honestly me and my friends had dinner reservations at Ding tai whatever , and it didn't work out. So we looked for the closest place and AHBA did not disappoint at all. When I tell you that the steak melted in my mouth, it literally melted in my mouth. Like, no joke. Those french fries, so yummy. So crispy so tender. It was delicious. My friend had a burger and he thought they ate down in the kitchen. I had a Diet Coke and I love my Diet Coke with lemon, so I asked the waiter for some extra lemons, and what did he do he delivered on the extra lemons. They also have a water station where you can go Serve yourself, and these really cute. Glass little cups, so gorgeous. I mean the lighting was incredible. If you want. Good photos like FIRE LIGHTING . AND Amazing ambience. Go right now. not to mention everyone who worked there had an insane gorgeous (for the baddies) & handsome face card (for the boys) I was gagged and they are super super nice people!!! read more

Another "trendy" spot with nothing beyond ambiance to justify it staying in business. The Caesar salad was overdressed and topped with the thinnest slice of $8 chicken. Some of the worst service I've had. They brought out 1/3 entrees before water. Table was so messy and had to ask a waiter to wipe it down. Did not bring us any water for 18 minutes, had to ask someone. Rest of the entrees came out at least 20 minutes after the first. Wait staff has zero customer service and looked upset to be bringing us food every time. Food isn't worth it. read more

Came here with a girl friend for taco tuesday! It was interesting how the tacos were upstairs instead of in the main dining area. I definitely loved the vibe upstairs but we did order food and drinks when we checked in which we had to get downstairs so we didn't stay upstairs for long. I ordered all 3 tacos they had on the menu and my favorite was surprisingly the sweet potato taco which is their vegetarian option. I also loved the sauce with the barbacoa taco, perfectly spicy and flavorful. We also ordered the sweet papas and it was cooked perfectly and we were obsessed with the sauce (literally drowning our sweet potato's in the sauce lol) Definitely wanna come here again to try their other entrees! read more

The food was great and the place was absolutely adorable! The steak frites are incredible!!

Cute place but both bartenders working sat down to have their lunch, ate with their hands (one licked her finger tips after eating as she was putting her dirty dishes away), clocked in, and went straight to work. NO handwashing at all! Grabbed the straws and lime/fruit garnishes for the drinks with their finger tips that were just licked and just continued working. I wish I had a photo to display the true horror that is the burger situation here at CM's Ahba. To preface, I WAS an avid lover of the smash burger here. THEN on multiple occasions I have ordered said burger and specifically requested the cooking of the burger to be well done, NOT rare or anything adjacent to. Unfortunately, after the first bite... nothing but pink. Reminder: its a smash burger, how hard is it to get a smash burger well done? More background, I started specifying 'well done' after a friend experienced food poisoning from the burger being extremely rare. Notice how I kept coming in good faith of one of my favorite restaurants. BUT NO MORE. There has been no imporovemnt over months of attending, and after multiple complaints and what seems like dismissive comments and staff. This saddens me. Do better. P.S. Not just one, but two stars specifically because the cocktails are actually very impressive. read more

Been wanting to try Ahba for months and when I found out they're opening a location at the CAMP I couldn't wait to go. We arrived at the restaurant and were perplexed regarding the dine-in process, since there were no indications of ordering first then finding a seat, couldn't find an employee either so we kinda had to figure it out. The register to order is past the restaurant, in the corner near the pink stairs leading to their rooftop bar. We ordered the hummus and were taken aback they served us bread that looked like coal. I requested a different slice that was not black, and the young blonde food runner with an underlying attitude indicated "it's like that because it's grilled" before bringing a different slice. Grilled bread is supposed to have sporadic charring, not charred all throughout to the point where it's entirely burnt. Hummus itself was great and had a tasty dollop of date purée. Flavors were different and delightful. The crispy potatoes + cheese were okay. Tastes like how it sounds, lack luster, and under-seasoned crispy potatoes with cheese shavings that didn't taste like much. When the steak + frites came out I thought I was being pranked. The steak was grey and had a cut through the center of the steak, I'm guessing to check for doneness? It looked extremely unappetizing to say the least but redeemed itself once I tried it and was pretty tender and flavorful. I was heavily disappointed at the appearance because I've seen pictures all over their social media of how the steak should be served with all the garnishes and herbed butter. I left the restaurant feeling unsatisfied and underwhelmed. I would definitely come back but for their ambiance + drinks at their rooftop bar while we wait for a table at Folks next door. read more
