I really wanted to love this place but for me first impressions are very important . When I go to a restaurant I want it to feel like an escape. Where I'm having a good time and keep the good vibes going moment. But here as soon as you get there you're hit with you have to order your food at the hostess station. That through me off guard. No time to think and being starred by the hostess. It's so awkward and you feel rushed. Like who came up with that? I don't see the benefit of it because as a customer I'm bound to choose more items off the menu when I'm seating down comfortably and at my own pace. This was huge for me and unfortunately won't be coming back. read more

Food 5 stars Service 1 star They came and took our order, we waited a good 20 mins + for hummus and feta appetizers, food came out about 10 minutes after that. It's an hour and a half later now and no one has come to check on us or refill our water or ask if we wanted another cocktail. Although someone did take our plates away but lacked attentiveness. We had made a reservation for 3pm and the place was practically empty when we got here for a birthday reservations we had made and we even noted that on the reservation form online. We planned to go upstairs to the rooftop area and get some more drinks, but now we feel like we're being held hostage for our check. I'll probably go to the Laguna location before I come back here. Service was very disappointing. The food and drinks were impeccable, compliments to the chef and bartender. read more

I have always wanted to try Ahba but never made it down to the Laguna Beach location so when I heard they opened at The Camp, I was so excited! I went there for dinner on a Tuesday night around 6pm with a friend. We were able to order quickly and find a seat easily. I deducted half a star because the ordering and seating situation was fairly confusing. You go through the restaurant to the outside by the stairs and that's where you order your food. Then you have to separately go to the bar to order your drinks. Then you can find a place for open seating. We ordered the famous Ahba burger with garlic fries and the braised lamb that was recommended by the cashier. The food came out fairly quickly and it was so good! The braised lamb was by far the favorite. It was so well balanced with the tzatziki sauce and the bread that came with it! The burger was a decent burger, nothing crazy. We liked the pickles and the peppers on it but the cheese was literally kraft singles... the fries were good, not too garlicky but a good punch with parm cheese. What wasn't good were the drinks. I deducted another half a point for drinks. Both my gin based drink and her tequila based drink lacked any flavor and tasted like watered down cocktails, but like bad cocktails. We also checked out the upstairs "speakeasy" called Buzz's and it literally looked like my grandparents garage. Definitely an odd vibe and veryyyyy hipster. Seating was open seating and we had to share a space with several other groups, but when in Rome I guess! We did get a margarita upstairs and those were much better. They ask you not to bring any food upstairs except for their taco Tuesday menu on Tuesdays. Service was quick, the vibes were quirky. Overall, good experience and would definitely go back for a fun night out! read more

Kellyn and Tanya made me feel SO welcomed! It was my first time here, and I really loved the atmosphere and ambiance. More than that, I truly appreciated the outstanding service from the bartenders. I had no idea the restaurant closed at 9, and I ordered food last minute. Once I realized they were about to close, I told Kellyn we could cancel if needed, but she immediately reassured me: "Absolutely not, I've got you. No rush. We'll take care of you." 10/10 experience. Will definitely be back :) read more

First timer here! Plenty of seating inside and even a rooftop bar upstairs (no food allowed though). I ordered the Ahba burger and it was delicious! The pickled fresno, aioli pickles, and onions blend so well together. For the burger, you can choose between one or two patties. I'm usually a big fan of cauliflower but the Charred Cauliflower tasted bitter for me. I might have eaten a piece that was too charred, but when I tried a different piece, it also was not to my personal liking. read more

So so good. Cheesy rigatoni, smashburger, feta dip are a must. Drinks are good, especially mezcal one. Order before you sit is actually genius. Fast service even on a Saturday night. Went with our 1.5 year old and she loved it haha. A great addition to the camp! read more

Everything here is so good but the burger and cauliflower pita are superior. Drinks are great and it's just an overall cool vibe.

It's been on my list for a few months and I'm so glad we got to try it! Stood outside to place the order for about 15 mins (staff were super friendly). Vibe is cool- a bit loud for me. We ordered-kids cheeseburger (great), lamb pita sandwich (excellent but a little heavy), and the chicken Sammie (eh, tasted old and the flavors were not distributed well). Persimmon lemonade was good,'too! Love that they have a nonalcoholic menu as well! read more

I want to love this place, but I just simply like it. It's a simple, casual restaurant located in Costa Mesa & it's great for a quick bite with a nice ambience. There's indoor & outdoor seating with a cozy vibe. The only reason why I don't particularly love this spot is because of the service. You order your food first upfront then find your own table -- on a less busy day, it would generally be fine, but having come here on a busier day with no tables available, my party & I were circling & standing around for 15 minutes with no help from workers because you have to find your own table. At one point when a seat became available, we raced for it but someone got it to it first, so we had to wait around again & ended up being stuck in a corner at a small 2-person table & asked for an extra chair. While there were no tables left at all, they were still taking in more orders for diners, which seems messy. They also don't serve water or water pitchers, so you have to go up to the bar & grab your own glasses to fill. It's just an interesting process for a restaurant set up that I'm not too fond of. read more

Trendy little place on PCH in South Laguna with good drinks. Menu is good but limited. Lot of young people and has a nice laidback vibe. Popular place doing well read more

Definitely would recommend. I love the burger & fries. Good ranch too. Definitely a cool vibe. I liked the Laguna location, but this one is a bit bigger and easier to get to. The camp doesn't have amazing parking, but better than Laguna for sure. Service is good -- you order before & they bring it to you. Not really like you have a server, but they come around every now and then I think. Good spot for a fun night out! read more

Chicken Caesar salad with a side of dead fly inside my salad. Felt so grossed out once I found it. The set up of this restaurant is also extremely weird, you have to enter from the side then order there and pick anywhere to sit. Waiters don't come until you wave them over. Nice to have gotten a refund but this is a food hazard and health hazard. Wash the veggies!!!!! read more

Love this chain! Cheeseburger is really good. Atmosphere is cool. Great overall spot for lunch or dinner

Went this Saturday for Lunch. Location and aesthetics, AMAZING. However, the service left us wishing we would've gone to a different place. Bartender literally told us, " I don't wanna do extra work for your lack of communication " I get it, I'm new to the place and I don't know the menu, but damn. That was harsh. read more

I really wanted to love this place as I saw all the rave on social media. Ambiance and vibe were cute, great and I highly commend them for using better and healthier cooking oils such as avocado oil and beef tallow which is huge thing for me, but I don't know.. the flavors of their food felt lacking for reason. It's wasn't bad but it needed more zest as it felt bland to me, otherwise I would of given this place more stars. read more

it's such a shame that i'm writing this review, because this was my fav restaurant at the camp. so much so that i brought my friend for her birthday. we ordered the tri-tip sammie and the little mac, which were tasty. however, i found TWO strands of hair in our food. picking out a stranger's hair made us loose our appetite. i understand that mistakes happen, but the way the employees handled the situation was very disappointing. i took the plate to an employee (because no one is walking around to check on the guests) and all we got was a dry "sorry about that." nothing was done to make up for the situation. a genuine apology is the bare minimum, yet the employees are incapable of that. read more

Burger is very full of flavor. Service is great and so is the ambiance. Casual yet indulging! We'll be back again!

Came on a late Tuesday evening for taco Tuesday! We were informed tacos we at the upstairs bar/speakeasy which was a vibe with the trendy decor and lounge style seating. We had to go up to the bar too to order. They had a taco guy up there grilling and making handmade tortillas. We got the last of the shredded chicken tacos and they were quite good as well as some tasty margaritas. I will come back earlier next time as it was towards the end of their service hours and it was quieting down. Seems like a fun crowd and would be a good place to mingle with others. I've been to the laguna location and know they have a good burger there so I'll have to come back to sit in their downstairs dining area. read more

Wow. Huge disappointment. From start to finish. First we wanted to eat at the bar. The cashier said you order your food and drinks here. So we did. Then we went in to sit at the bar. We were promptly greeted by the rudest bartender I've seen in a very long time. She let us know in no uncertain terms that the bar was not open setting it was full service. We explained what the cashier told us and that we've already ordered and she refused to let us sit there. It was kinda close to closing so the bar was empty. It was simply ridiculous for no reason. Next we find a small crappy table and sit. The whipped feta wasn't bad. But the Caesar salad tasted like it still had dirt in it and wasn't properly washed. The dressing tasted like water. Then my son's burger came out. The meat was raw and the cheese was cold. I'd rather have it prepared properly and wait a little bit longer for the food to get to the table. So we told the cashier who was walking around and he said sorry. No manager came to the table. Then someone cleared the table and both our dishes were full barely touched the food. They said nothing. Then we were approached by another employee who said how was everything? We started to tell her how we felt. Seriously she walked away as we were talking. This whole experience was horrible and now we won't be back. We frequent the Laguna Beach location and boy is it miles above this Costa Mesa location. Hope you get it together. Restaurants are closing left and right. You must exceed the guest expectations if you want them to return to dine with you. read more

We have been longtime fans of Ahba and have consistently enjoyed both the food and service in the past, which made this experience at the Costa Mesa location especially disappointing. I visited on Sunday evening (12/21) with my two daughters (21 and 18) for a holiday dinner. Upon arrival, we were directed by the host to sit at the bar for full service, despite my mentioning that one of my daughters was under 21. After waiting quite a while to be acknowledged, we placed our drink and food orders, only to then be told by the bartender that we could not sit at the bar because my daughter was underage -- exactly the concern I had raised initially. We moved to a table without issue. Unfortunately, the service continued to decline. Our food arrived well before our drinks, which sat on the bar for over 20 minutes. When we asked about them, the interaction felt dismissive. We were also served an item we did not order, and when we pointed this out, the response again felt irritated rather than apologetic. When we paid at the bar, the check was incorrect, which explained the food mix-up. While the Ahba burger is usually excellent, this one felt rushed and below the standard we've come to expect. Throughout the evening, we genuinely felt unwelcome -- not because of one mistake, but because of the overall attitude and lack of care. I later emailed management and received a brief apology with a promise to follow up after speaking with the team, but no follow-up ever came. I understand busy nights and staffing challenges, having worked in the service industry myself. Mistakes happen. However, making guests feel unwelcome should never happen. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as this experience has made us question returning, which is disappointing given how much we've enjoyed Ahba in the past. read more

Best burger but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu! Love the rooftop space, perfect place to hang and soak up the good vibes.

Food was good, the ambiance was good too. We came around 430pm, the QR code was NOT working. We attempted to make an order 3x each time we were greeted with an attitude. We walked up to the bar & the female bartender looked at us & we patiently waited.. still wasn't attended to. We had to flag down a bus boy? Or someone who works here, finally. I would love to come here again for the food & ambiance alone but the service was very upsetting to where we continuously had to get up off our seats & to find someone & order. It wasn't even that busy.. there was plenty of open seating.. so I was just confused on what was going on. read more
