Clopay We purchased 3 garage doors from Clopay dealer in Virginia called Affordable Garage Doors. After a few months they did a minor adjustment to one of the doors. Shortly afterwards that same day, we noticed that one of the door panels had small damage on the exterior. After contacting the dealer and trying to resolve the matter, they denied responsibility. I tried to contact Clopay company directly, and they said since we were under one year of installation the manufacturing warranty would not be activated. Long story short, Clopay did nothing to force the dealer to make the repairs. They also referred me to the regional manager, Mr David Katina, who requested me to send them pictures to prove that the damage could not have been made by us. I did everything they asked, but all emails and phone calls resulted in NOTHING. I also made multiple phone calls and emails to the Clopay office and communicated with Ms Cindy Gilbert and she never responded back to me. They have shown NO responsibility or accountability, and they never made any repairs. This has been going on for three years. My warning: The garage doors are good quality, but the warranty is nonexistent and there is no customer service or real support. We spent over $24,000 and still have a defective door that they have been unwilling to repair. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING CLOPAY. read more

Here is the email I just sent Affordable. My experience couldn't have been better with their service department and the installer! I'd like to report a very positive experience I had last Friday, January 10th from your installer Jerry. Jerry had several installs that went long on Friday but still managed to get to my house late in the evening. He was very open and communicated his situation to me and I appreciated knowing his whereabouts and when to expect him. Upon arrival he was very attentive. He helped identify the source of my initial trouble report but in doing so, he found a very dangerous condition of one of my door springs and the other soon to follow. He worked quickly and efficiently in repairing the damage caused by the first installation and took steps to ensure it wouldn't reoccur. He fixed both doors, lubricated them, ensured their operation before leaving. What is most impressive is that he could have simply fixed the initial symptoms and left. I wouldn't have known about the other trouble from the first installation until the spring(s) broke loose! He took the initiative and time to make sure my service was done right. I really appreciate his dedication and thoroughness. He should be commended. Regards, read more

I am so pleased with this company for many reasons, 1) Price, I had already checked several companies and they gave me the best price to install the new motor for my garage, 2) service, this was the second time that I used this company, I bought a foreclosure house and I knew I had problem with the door opener, first time they send me a young technician and replaced all the wheels at a very reasonable price, second time, I had issue with the old unit, right in the middle of big snow storm that we had, they found a time and they sent some one after hours to help me unlock the door, and they replaced the motor, belt, they gave me one of the latest and top of the line motor with key pad, 2 remote keys at unbelievable price, as I mentioned my house was foreclosure and I have dealt with all kinds of contractors, but I have not seen any type of service like this, I strongly recommend this company, I live in Columbia Maryland, I strongly recommend this company, I don't know anyone there and there is nothing in it for me to advocate this company, that being said, I wish everyone left feedback like this, all I know is that I want good quality work, good price and good service, thank you guys at affordable doors, read more

My springs broke on my door and I tried to replace myself as I have done before, but after a trip to Home Depot and Lowes and two different sets of springs I could not get my door to close so I gave up and decided to call a pro. Initially after looking on the web I called another company with great reviews, but looking further the reviews said they seemed to overcharge for changing springs. I canceled with the other company and called Affordable Door and I am so glad that I did. They said they would come the next day between 9:00-12:00. Roman who was my tech called me and said he would be there at 11:00 and he showed up at 11:00. Roman looked at what I had done and said that I did a good job but used the wrong weight springs. After he installed the correct ones he checked other components of the door to make sure it was safe and even lubed the tracks for me. He said it looked good, didn't try to oversell me or tell me other things were wrong and to top it off the price was very reasonable. If I have any problems with my door, I know that I will be calling Affordable Door and requesting Roman. Thanks for the great service. Rich read more

I contacted the folks at Affordable Door after I had done my research and homework. Their sales person immediately contacted me and came over my house the next day. He spent 1 hour with me and we went through many different options. I was not rushed or pushed into a purchase. We decided to go with Affordable Door. They scheduled me within 2 days. The installers were very professional and finished their work (and cleaned after themselves) within 4 hours. After the installation I called them back (a week and half later) and asked them whether they could come back and move my window row one row higher. I was contacted by their foreman within 10 minutes and he informed me that they could come over and do it for me free of charge. If that is not good customer service I do not know what is. Kudos to the folks at Affordable Door, I highly recommend this company!! read more

Despite the terrible reviews, I decided to take a chance with this company because they were the only ones (out of three companies I called) that could fit me into the schedule the same day, and I was desperate. The senior service manager, Robert, contacted me and assured me that I need not be concerned about the negative yelp reviews. He came to the house promptly, diagnosed the problem(s), performed a temporary fix, and gave me a reasonable quote for two door replacement, which, later compared to another company's quote, was significantly cheaper. I am not quite ready to replace the doors, and I plan to eke out every last day from them, but when I do replace them in the coming year, I will definitely go with affordable door. Thanks, Robert! read more

Unexpectedly my garage door would not open. Aa the door itself is the only entrance to the garage I was truly "stuck". I logged on to Home Advisor - site recommend d to me by my daughter - and was called by Affordable Doors. An appointment was made for the next day. Prior to coming, a gentleman named Robert called to inquire about the specific problem. He listened, and then suggested some trouble shooting action I could take. Through his help and patience I was able to get the door open. Of all the repairmen I've delt with during 25 years in Northern Virginia, he was by far the best. He was incredibly kind, honest, patient, and knowledgable. Robert is quite an asset to his company. read more

Our garage door opener suddenly stopped working. We called Affordable Door and they answered immediately, got a technician appointment within a few days, who diagnosed that the issue right away (the opener had died and needed replacement) and quickly scheduled a next day replacement service appointment to bring the appropriate opener to install. The technician showed up on time, worked quickly and efficiently, was super friendly and polite, and took the time to set up and clearly explain how to work the new openers, including the app with the newer technology installed. Highly recommend and would gladly call again! read more

Had a spring snap on one of my Liftmaster garage doors. Affordable Doors sent a tech out the next day...within 30 minutes, the door was fixed, and they replaced ALL required hardware (both sides, both springs, pulleys, etc) at no extra charge. Also offered additional services at significant discount. One of the best service experiences I've ever had. Best of all, the work was top grade and the tech rep was friendly, helpful, informative and personable. What more could you ask for?! If you EVER have a garage door problem give these guys a call...you will be GLAD YOU DID!! read more

Used Affordable Door for both a Lift Master garage door opener and a new garage door replacement. I found their pricing competitive and less than peers and their communication/follow up was terrific! I dealt with Ben and a few others on the garage door options/features and they were all very helpful in assisting me with a final choice. They kept me informed of when the merchandise would arrive and were very good on a pre notification call./text as to their arrival for installation. Finished both their installations in the timeframe they told me it would take. read more

I had a problem with garage door not opening. I went to Angie's List and found a great deal with Affordable Door. I phoned and received an appointment within the next two days. Robert showed up, diagnosed the issues, informed me of the necessary repairs and performed them in a timely manner. When complete the garage door was working better than first install. I was happy with the timely and professional service and I have confidence in Roberts knowledge of repairs and the warranty on parts and labor that my issues are resolved. Thank you. read more

Affordable Doors installed my garage doors a couple of years ago and did a super job. I love my new doors so I thought I should have them maintained each year. The company sent a technician out to perform the first service. He arrived at the appointed time, inspected the doors, applied lubricant, and insured all the bolts were tight. He also suggested I may want to consider new lifters in the future as mine are getting old and quite noisy. I appreciated his work and will recommend this company for all their quality and professional services. read more

We recently purchased new garage doors from Affordable Door and are so pleased with the entire process. Mauricio Villatoro came to do the estimate and listened very carefully to what we wanted. It was reassuring that he came back and did the installation because we knew he was detailed oriented. We got exactly what we asked for. The installation was fast and efficient and there wasn't even dust left when the clean up was finished. Mr. Villatoro and Affordable Door get our highest recommendation. read more

Had one of their technicians (Robert V) call me to get a better idea of the problem that I was having with my garage door. I was told that the technician would call within an hour and he called in under 15 minutes. The technician guided me through two simple steps over the phone and the issue was resolved. That process took exactly four minutes. The technician was pleasant, polite and informative as to the workings of the particular brand of garage door. Very professional read more

First of all I would like to say thank you Affordable Door for sending a technician Devontae on the same day I called for repair. Your technician Devontae called previous to arriving, was on time. He had to removed and replaced two torsion springs for my garage foor to work. I want to comment on his efficiency and quality of workmanship. He is also very personable which is great for customer service. Thank you Devontae and your company for a job well done." read more

Our door needed replacing, and I got three quotes from different companies. Affordable door offered a great product at a good price. More important, they clearly knew the ins and outs of installation, options, and operation. Jerry did the installation, which was first-rate. The door looks great, operates smoothly, and keeps our garage nicely insulated against the weather. I'm very pleased with the product, the service, and the price. read more

I wrecked my garage door on a Friday night. it needed to be replaced. I contacted Affordable Door that evening, and had an appointment scheduled for the following Monday. David came as promised on Monday, gave me a quote, and scheduled replacement for the next day. Renaldo and his team arrived on time, finished quickly, and did a phenomenal job. Requested yearly service. Came when said he would be here. Work done quickly, but accurately. Told me what he was going to do and then did the work. After done, told me a couple of potential issues that we needed to watch for, not immediate concerns, but possible items to 'fix' when the weather is warmer (it had snowed and was 25 outside with a 10 MPH wind -- COLD. read more

Robert saved me from having to get out of my car to open my garage door. A carpenter, unknowingly, had locked the LiftMaster garage door opener and I had misplaced the User's Manual to undo what he had done. Robert told me quickly and easily, over the phone, at no charge, how to unlock the garage door opener and enable the car remote to open and close the door. read more
