We had a hail storm go through and I called AE as we had had them inspect our roof before. This time, we needed a roof. They handled everything, contact with the insurance company, permit, great clean up and were quick to get it all done. One of their staff even came out, put up a ladder, secured it all for the city inspector to check that the job was done right. They are great to work with! read more

The roof they installed leaked once complete. Our ceiling is damaged as a result. They have yet to fix the ceiling. Our yard was full of nails and cigarette butts. their truck chipped our driveway. They sent workers to repair the roof who were wearing Jasper roofing shirts. hey arrived unannounced and chould not speak enough English to effectively communicate the situation. I had a new roof, gutters, siding and garage door (done by A1 garage door) They are excellent as well. Kent was outstanding through the whole process. He was very professional and this was due to a hail storm in 2018 in Colorado Springs. No matter how busy he was I felt like I was the only customer he was working with at the time. The roof withstood this years 2019 blizzard with 70 MPH winds. The gutters don't leak. I checked after snow melt and rain. The siding crew fixed a few gaps and they stood behind their work. They came back 2 times and even fixed my screw up of melting the back siding after grilling. Siding guy even gave me his cell number. I even got a 200.00 check for referring a friend. I can't say enough how professional and quality work all the crews did on my home. I love driving home every day and seeing my blue and white house with my gray hail resistant roof. I bought the roofers Mc Donald's maybe that helped. Just kidding. I am very happy and most of my neighbor's used AE for their hail damage in the Springs. They handled the insurance claim every step of the way. Kent is extremely knowledgeable and always took and returned my calls. They didn't ask for a penny until I was completely satisfied with the work. As a matter of fact I had to remind Kent I owed him over 20K. He was like a friend and treated me like family. From start to finish it took 3 months to get Advanced Exteriors to complete the job they started. They would commit to a day to show up to continue to work and would not show up. I believe this happened on 24 separate occasions. Since their work on the house, I have had to fix three of the gutters that they put up, because they have fallen off the house. They also did some work on replacing the cover on the deck and they put up warped wood. They originally stated that they would be using a material that would closely match the color of the house, which of course they did not. On top of the warped wood, they never painted the wood to match the house. However, the shingles that they put on the roof of the house seem to be holding up and we have not had any leaks. The other item to note is that when I called the company or project manager they were not very responsive. When I did get a response there seemed to be quite a bit of confusion on why people were not showing up to complete the job. The standard answer seemed to be that their employees were confused and went to work on the wrong house. read more

As background I lived in AZ for 30 years and had no experience with hail damage to a home. I was absolutely ignorant of the fact that my insurance company would cover the repairs to my roof, let alone anything else. When I learned that was true I had to choose a contractor in a new city, so I knew nothing of reputation. As I have extensive building & remodeling experience I knew it was of utmost importance, so that's when I turn to Google reviews! Advanced Exteriors seemed to have the broadest coverage of contractors, and out of all those from several companies I contacted they responded quickly, and made an appointment for an estimate right away. I must have had 15 contractors come to my home, but Eli Guthrie was the only one who sat down with an absolutely detailed account of all damages and proceeded to hand me an estimate that I could sign immediately. I cannot emphasize enough how impressed I was. Even though there were horrible experiences with my insurance adjustor, Mr. Guthrie met with him three times at my home; during those inspections pointed out much more hail damage to sidewalks and stucco siding on my home. Because of him my insurance covered far more than the first visit with my adjustor who will be receiving a review of an entirely different tone. Long story short, I have a beautifully finished roof with new fascia and gutters to match, and repairs to cement sidewalks and all around my stucco are in the works. To have had such a great experience with my first home owner's claim is remarkable and I am more than grateful for it since I have reached an age where I don't WANT to work that hard any more, nor do I now have the tools. I also spoke with several of Advanced Exterior employees, and this company treats them right. I was very impressed with the family atmosphere of the company as well as the wonderful benefits of working there. Those office workers will be receiving equally glowing reviews. My sympathies for having to endure my insurance adjustor. read more

No Stars! If you could do negative stars I would!! AE is the worst company ever!!! Our roofing project seemed promising with the project manager who came to our house and really sold us on his company. The start date was delayed without notification. We were told the actual roofers were trained and employed by their company. Turns out that was one of many lies. A crew of 4 sub contractors showed up with AE logos on their trucks to mid lead the customer into thinking they were legit AE employees. Their was no supervisor leading the work crew. We had in our contract that the decking was to be replaced. I watched the workers from the start and they never touched the decking when they started to reroof after the tear off. I questioned the men if they had changed the decking ( I knew the roof had rot where they had shingled over) the workers told me " no hablo engles " so I asked them again in Spanish! For that they had no answer. I climbed on the roof and inspected myself. Sure enough they shingled over rotted decking. I called AE and they told me no one was free to come out! We were paying out of pocket for this roof 13.5k and you can not send a supervisor!!! Like Hell you are going to treat us like this!! I fired them on the spot! Kicked the guys off the roof ! Later that day the Project Manager comes to the House looks over the work feeds us lies about how the warranty would cover the mistakes. I had done my research before he got to the house. 1- GAF will not back shingles improperly installed ( shingles over rotted decking) 2- your home owners insurance will not cover improperly installed roofing The PM tried to intimidate us by saying his company would sue us if we didn't let them finish. House bill 12-038 article 22 protects the consumer from poor workmanship by roofing companies. It states we have the right to fire the company for poor workmanship. Then he said he'd have to call the police if we didn't let the guys finish. Because it is an unsafe environment for our kids! I said let me do you a favor and I called the police for him. The police sent them packing! Good riddance to bad trash!! We wound up doing our own roof. We found that no only did they not change the decking they were putting the water drip on improperly and threw the ice and water shield off the roof instead of installing as per the contract!! Later that week their lawyer sent us a statement to sign that said we give up any right to claim liability for AE's workmanship but they didn't give up any right to claim foul against us! For real did they think we were stupid!! When we finished the roof we came to understand that they ordered 20 bundles of roofing extra. We ordered our new supplies off their materials list. That is $600 extra in materials!! If you don't count the ice and water shield they didn't plan on using! Just an FYI the customer does not get to return the extra shingles. It is common for the roofing company to take the extra materials with them. They claim those materials as their own! read more

During the 2013 floods, our roof leaked into our house. I spent weeks calling roofers and trying to get estimates. Advanced Exteriors was the only company that returned my phone calls, came in a timely manner to do an estimate, and then gave me information and told me what would happen next. I was shocked that other roofers wouldn't even tell me they were too busy, instead they would say they were coming out, or tell me they would send me an estimate and I would never hear back. Andrew at Advanced Exteriors kept me up to date on the schedule, the roof was done quickly and beautifully! I'm very happy with the final product and everything was delivered as promised. I thought it was too good to be true the entire time that all I had to do was pay my deductible and Advanced Exteriors only charged what my insurance company paid out. This magazine had this listed as a great company - Advanced Exteriors-. Well I have to say it is the worst company. Here is what have taken place... They listed everything that needs to get fixed. They have a project manager come out and give you a quote, they make it look like they will work for you which is a lie. The project manager does not return your phone calls and respond to your issues after they get the signed paper to complete the job. Roof gets done but vents are not replaced, painting is partially done and Windows and screens are not replaced. Sent text messages and no response. Messages sent October, November of 2015 and still no response. Wrote a letter with $10000 check received phone call from the office with them claiming that they will have his manager call me back. What a joke.... I am still waiting on that phone call. Now it is August 2016 and the project manager so happens to find our paper work and decided to call in an effort to be paid. Are you kidding me, we have no paperwork on the warranty work for the roof too, no contact for over 8 months and work still not completed but you want money. Really!!!. I do not think so. Customer service is atrocious. Follow up is atrocious they are horrible and this is listed in Dave Logn's ad as a company to hire. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? HOMEOWNERS BEWARE OF THIS OMPANY..... Highly recommend working with the folks over at Advanced Exteriors. The staff have all been incredibly helpful and knowledgable throughout the entire process and they have been very patient with me. They have taken care of all negotiations with my insurance company and I was therefore able to get more work done to my house for the same deductible payment (really happy about this). I know that there was a huge demand for roofers this past year, but that doesn't excuse the poor work and awful customer support from Advanced Exteriors. After a four month delay to start, they sent out a huge crew of 10 guys. They didn't provide a port-o-potty, and the roofers urinated in a corner by the house and in water bottles that they left there over night. Once complete, we had to fight for months for them to fix shoddy work (nails sticking out, mismatched flashing colors, broken boards). They'd send someone out to "inspect" it, and he'd say they'd take care of it, but we'd have to keep on calling to get any response. Eventually, we hired someone else to correct the issues. Our neighbors had the same problems. The contractor was great at first, but then disappeared throughout the rest of the process. It was an all around awful experience! read more

This is the 2nd time in a year I've replaced my shingle roof due to hail damage. Advanced did a great job on both occasions and were in and done in one day(tearoff and reroof). Bill Davis, the company rep, actually called me the day after the May 2017 storm to see if I needed emergency repairs. He worked closely with the insurance adjuster on both occasions and was present when the inspection was done to make sure all damage was noted. On the prior replacement there were some communication problems with the scheduler but these were addressed and corrected. No problems with schedules this time. Great company to work with. read more

We worked with Robert at Advanced Exteriors for 3 weeks before we decided to go with someone else. At first, Robert was very knowledgeable about the roof and met with our insurance inspector promptly. After that, however, for 3 weeks, Robert contended that he was haggling with the insurance company over the cost of replacing the roof. When we contacted the insurance company, they told us they had not heard from Robert, who had apparently never even sent them an estimate. We contacted Robert and gave him a few days to contact the insurance company. He assured us he would call us back on a Wednesday. By the following Saturday, we had still not heard from him, so we have decided to go in a different direction. I would not advise anyone to go with this company. read more

Then scheduled painters to come paint with no paint codes or gutters up... Not to mention they said they aren't painting the gutters when they should be the color of the trim... Poor repair work on the roof. Poor repair work on screens so the repair had to be redone. Poor response by the PM and the QC coordinator to repair the work done by the AE team. Hail damage two years ago. Hired Advanced Exteriors to repair/replace windows, gutters and a door. Had someone else do roof, painting and awning. I try to go with local companies when I can and had read good reviews for AE. Summary, they have been a complete nightmare to work with and I would not recommend them to anyone. In hindsight most of the good reviews you read about them are about prompt sales effort and roofing. Not many reviews actually discuss the quality of the work they performed. Our experience: Very hard sell and they kept trying to get the other work. They continually showed up with very short or no notice. I complained to them several times about this, but they just kept doing it. Calling with one day or less notice to have workers show up. They used sub-contractors and not their own crews for our work. They fired their door and window sub-contractor after a month or more of nothing happening. When materials showed up that this person had ordered most of the windows were the wrong size. Went round and round with AE multiple times about this and had to order new windows which added several months to the project. Last time the windows showed up their own installer said they were the wrong size and needed to be sent back. A couple days later the AE supervisor, Brendan, told them to go ahead and install the windows anyway. Their own sub-contractor told me the gaps around the windows were so large it would void the manufacturer's life-time warranty. After multiple attempts, three of the windows were so bad and poorly installed I fired AE and had another contractor finish the work. The other contractor did such a better job it was amazing to see the difference. AE did quick shoddy work. New contractor said if Douglas County had to inspect the window replacement AE had done they would pull their license. If anyone wants to see pictures of their work I'm happy to provide. I read another review where AE installed painted gutters that didn't match the house trim and wanted to be paid for painted gutters. We had the same experience with them and finally got this cleared up at final billing. My opinion is the sales person was trying to make more commission regardless of what it would look like. On the positive side, they are very nice people, but in the end they caused me so many headaches and burned so much of my vacation time babysitting them it was ridiculous. Look elsewhere. read more

I hired this company and Dave Newell to complete $30,000 in hail damage to my home. I couldn't regret that decision more. I stupidly agreed to pay my invoice last December with the written agreement that work that had been done poorly or not at all would be fixed/completed in April or May. When spring came, I had to contact Dave in regards to having the work completed. The foreman then lied and said that he had left me messages to call him which he never did. Then began the numerous days we scheduled for the work to be completed and people either didn't show up at all or they showed up and argued with me about what needed done (although it had been already agreed to in writing) and left without doing anything. Dave then blamed the foreman, fired him from the project and assigned a new one to finish the work. It took constant nagging and reminding to finally get the work completed in mid October which should have been done no later than May. They even took it upon themselves to use a different type of deck stain to try to cover up the bad job they did in the first place and tried to make it out that I was imagining that the color looked nothing liked what I had picked out. In the end, they agreed to take $750 off my final bill, which yes is something but if you do the math comes out to a 2.5% discount. In no way did that come close to making up for what they put me through for a year and a half! If you use this company be prepared for nonstop headaches!!! read more

My experience with AE is very different than some of these other reviews. I worked with project manager Chris Sheridan and he was great. After the roof ad was replaced I had a few issues I wanted fixed and or changed and Chris had people out fixing it the next day. Everything looks great, I would highly recommend them. read more

In October 2015, I had Advanced Exteriors replace my gutters to fix a leakage problem. The bigger problem is that it still leaks I found out later that the workman who installed the gutters had told Don Graham that there was a problem with the flashing but he did nothing with this information. I highly recommend Advanced Exteriors for any and all home damage you might have! With all the recent hail storms (2018), we were bombarded with calls, door knockers, and solicitations. I knew to avoid most of those, so I asked my insurance agent to recommend someone. They gave me a few, and I started calling. Andrew from A.E. answered my call and was the only one who would come that day to do an initial assessment. They fixed a few things and discussed the damage with me. They have been by my side though the entire process, just a quick text message or phone call away. They came the day the insurance adjuster came to do an estimate and sat with me at the table to discuss damages. Seeing as how AE had MY best interests in mind, they worked with the adjuster to make sure I was getting everything repaired. They expertly handled all the "behind the scenes" that I didn't know about (like when I got a letter from the city saying a permit had been issued). Getting repairs done to your roof, home, and property takes time. I was impatient until all the extra stuff was explained to me. They have worked with adjusters to get my deck done the way it's meant to be, not what insurance thinks it should be (which was way less than what's actually needed). Andrew worked with the glass company to do replacements on a Saturday so that I didn't need to take more time off work to be home during the week. I honestly think you will be very pleased with their work. I would recommend them without hesitation. read more
