I'm just swinging by to update my review...
If it were possible to give "Adrift" MORE than
a 5 STAR review I would- without hesitation.
My son is now almost 17 (in January) and we continue to be regular patrons, whenever possible. The "Smothered Steak" remains our favorite,(and we privately take credit for the creation!) however we have now tried several different menu options, including their gourmet artisan burgers, and of course they are all mouth watering as well!
My son still swears by the bottled root beer (although he no longer saves the bottle caps! Lol! )(The wonderful waitstaff still remember though and bring them to him every time! It's just such a sweet gesture, both showing that they remember the little boy from so many years ago and his bottle cap collection..he always smiles when they do this, and though he's now 6 feet tall, driving and shaving, he always thanks them earnestly and slips them in his pocket-and the ritual always makes us smile.)
I can't complete my updated review with out mentioning how fantastic EVERY PART of Adrift is;
It's honestly just like a big jigsaw puzzle, and EVERYTHING and EVERYONE just FITS TOGETHER PERFECTLY, to make the entire experience MEMORABLE AND MAGICAL.
From the Hostesses who greet you and seat you, The Waitstaff who remember you and what you like, The Gourmet Artisan Chefs who prepare your meal with the freshest local ingredients (Grass Fed Beef, Fresh Caught Seafood, Crisp Fresh Vegetables & Greens ,Fresh Skagit Valley Berries, Fresh Local Cream for their Delicious Coffee and Creme Brûlée (which is AMAZING!) all made to perfection just the way you prefer, (and though I personally don't drink Wine, or Beer, I know that my family has always enjoyed Bevy of Brews and selection of Wines, and crisp choice of Hard Ciders (the last of which I have found occasion to try and have to my pleasant surprise, enjoyed immensely.)
The Ambiance of the Environment, displaying an ever changing feast for the eyes, in the Works of many Local Artists, all blended beautifully with the ever present Nautical Theme, that somehow manages to be Elegant yet Intimate at the same time.
I honestly don't know exactly how it is that
ADRIFT manages to make the last piece of the puzzle fit..which of course are the other PATRONS, (and being an establishment open to the public- an element that has the potential to ruin the environment, spoil the atmosphere and in short leave you on edge and wishing you had just stayed home ! (Or better yet that THEY had! )
I am speaking of the dread of diners everywhere, the "Ladies Night" that is actually "Loud-ie's Night" or "The Really Big Table" that takes up half of the restaurant and acts as if they are the only people there. The Family who brings kids and then proceeds to let them run riot, racing between the tables ,shouting ,screaming and generally acting badly (Theirs are the only Parrents who DON'T seem to notice them!)
I only bring these scenarios up for contrast!
I have NEVER in my nearly 10 years of patronage at "ADRIFT" EVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING but DELIGHTFUL DINNING EXPERIENCES!
I think that the people who patronize ADRIFT are a special type; and my only explanation for this is that we are TREATED as SPECIAL by every single person that contributes to the experience of dining there.
We the patrons are individually remembered, and treated as a valued member of the 'ADRIFT Family', and it's catchy! (I am out of room, and want to give you a few examples of what that means. Please check out my next review for my examples! )
In closing this update; if you still have not tried ADRIFT , you are really missing out on one of (if not THE ) best places to eat in All of SKAGIT COUNTY- if not WASHINGTON STATE!
