Located right after TSA and shared with Japan Airlines. Hot Food is not self service but it is available to order at the counter with some good choices. Staff is very friendly. Restrooms located outside the lounge but not too far. Lots of seating. They close at 11pm

This is a decent lounge. Not bad, but not great either. They have a very limited number of food options and drinks, but luckily, at least two of the food options they have are actually good! There's an area where you can order heartier meals, which is where I got the chicken curry and the noodles. They don't look like much but they're actually really good. The staff were nice, friendly, and very attentive. The space itself is not impressive, but it's clean and neat enough.

It is very small. AA shares it with JAL. Mutsumi is a sweetheart. We had asked if they had any candy. At the time she didn't, but right after we left she found some. She came chasing us down to give us some. The food at the club was basically asian. It was delicious. Everyone was kind.

Amazing coffee with a side of mask.

Eh. Not really impressed honestly. We had a 3 hour standby between Oahu and Kauai. The employees were super eager to see us which was very welcoming HOWEVER...June 25 2022 and they're still requiring masks and have the plastic dividers and social distancing?...ummm. We've seen studies by the CDC that this stuff is stupid and it's still going on? We bent over long enough to make it to a table and INSTANLY take off our masks...doesn't that make sense? We ordered coffee, a beer, green tea, oj and noodles. Let me just tell you....the Coffee!! WOW! As my husband says..."worth the 12 seconds of having to wear a mask?" Left after the coffee and snacks to eat downstairs. Eh...for an admirals club...NOT impressed. We won't be back.

    No food out

Worst Admirals Club I have ever been to. It is down a dark dingy hallway that is hot with either unused or broken air conditioning. The bathrooms are located outside the club and they were locked! I showed up at 9:20 am. The staff was lounging around. They opened the door a few minutes after 9:30. I checked in. I walked to get a bite to eat before my flight. Nothing was out. There wasn't even a single magazine or newspaper. Don't bother taking the long walk to this club. Frankly, they should just close it. It is an embarrassment.

We used this lounge while waiting for a 7pm flight from Honolulu to Dallas. Check in was really quick and easy. The lounge was fairly empty upon arrival around 5pm which was great. Ample seating and very clean. The beverage area has tea, juices, sodas and water. You can choose wine or beer in the food area. I chose the chicken curry and added stir fried veggies to it. The curry was flavorful and the veggies were a nice addition. I sipped my kung Fu girl reisling, charged my devices and relaxed before my 7hr flight.

    Instant ramen and fruit plate.

We have airport lounge membership for when we travel. I like to be able to rest before flights and not wait at the gates in big crowds. The bonus is that you have refreshments that are included and the staff at the front desk know when you should walk to your gate. If you want to enjoy your time in an airport before flights you definitely need to try this.

An inside look at the lounge.

Overall, it's probably one of the best AA lounges in the network, as it's a joint lounge with Japan Airlines. I went there just as it had reopened in Aug2021 after being closed for more than a year. The decor is bright, modern, and calming, although it's clear that this lounge is meant more for leisure tourists than business. The seats are arranged in long bench tables and densely packed, ideal for large groups. The food scene was just getting started up again, so they didn't have curry and most of the japanese treats that they used to have, but I had a iced green tea and a chicken karaage that was served on a nice little tray. Overall, the lounge wasn't very packed as I think people didn't know it had re-opened. It's a good lounge, but in Honolulu airport, who needs a lounge when you can relax in the lush gardens in the courtyard?

The missing 1.5 is for a smaller selection than most premium lounges. Their miso braised pork was stand-out and their lilikoi cheesecake bar was delicious. Most of their produce/fruit offerings were local and fresh - can't say that about every lounge I've been to. Staff were continually refilling the stations. Drink selection is quite bare - 1 hard seltzer and 2 beers, a few different wines (I didn't check). No spirits, which other self-serve lounges even have. They make it a point to tell you that everything is self-service, including bussing your own plates and dishes. As such, some guests still leave their dishes and trash behind and it really doesn't seem like anyone is paying attention, so tables can stay full for a while. There are very limited big/full tables with outlets nearby, so I ended up bussing someone else's dishes myself to use the table for our party. Everything seemed clean, including bathrooms. Someone is also regularly cleaning it. Wifi wasn't strong enough for me to download anything off Netflix, which was strange, but maybe it was just me. All in all, this would be a 3.5/5 lounge experience, but still glad to have it.

The regular lounge had a semi-full bar, a full spread of buffet selection, an udon bar, as well as non-alcoholic beverages with a premium coffee maker serving illy brand coffee. This lounge is spacious, seating area is extensive, especially considering that HNL isn't a very large airport. There are mainly three different types of seating; comfy lounge chairs and sofas with coffee tables line the large floor-to-ceiling windows, providing a spectacular views of the tarmac and runway. If you are going to Tokyo Narita on the A380, you'll see the HONU aircraft just outside the window. Many passengers were airplane spotting as the first Honu was taxiing out and taking off. Long benches with communal tables are another seating that also serves as a workstation. The dining space also has AC power as well as USB outlets. There is also restaurant style with round cocktail tables, rectangular dining tables making it a very nice space to enjoy snacks, cocktails, or full meal before the flight. Food servers and ground staff agents are professional, and friendly. The entire lounge is kept sparking clean including the restrooms located just past the children's play area. Table and counters were constantly wiped down, the air conditioning temperature and ambiance is truly a Hawaiian/Japanese environment.

Seating is arranged across several sections with lounge chairs, work tables, and bar-style seating. During peak departure periods, particularly in the evening when multiple mainland flights depart, the space can become busy but still remains manageable.
