I had been a customer of the local pest control company since 2021, and had a great experience with them. However, Active Pest Control acquired them several years ago, and the service has since been HORRIBLE. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY! Nobody responds or calls back. I've also requested multiple times for techs to come back because of ongoing pests, bees, spider webs...all in which should have been addressed previously. Nobody takes accountability for their actions. All these people do is say that they are sorry and someone will call me. That NEVER happens. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else, save your money and your frustrations. I've continuoulsy asked for them to cancel my service and remove my bills and these are STILL showing up in my account. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Under their "pest services" - we've experienced a carpet beetle infestation, drain fly infestation, baby roaches, etc. The technician told me to treat the drains at my house with drain - O because that's why we apparently have roaches and drain flies - as he couldn't come in unless I called to schedule a one off appointment. You're at my house and I'm paying for your services ? Then the carpet beetle infestation has been nothing short of a nightmare to do deal with. I call asking for a plan on how to resolve and no one calls me back. The mosquito "solution" they use is ineffective. Our termite stations needed replacing for a year and the technician that services our house monthly never told us. I had to call to get access to our online portal to realize this. I never had a bug issue until I started using active - if I could give them zero stars I would. I had been a customer of a local pest control company since 2015, and had been a great experience with them. However, Active Pest Control acquired them several years ago, and the service has since been either adequate or disappointing. The quality of service largely depends on the technician assigned to your area. Hiring and training technicians for this job must be challenging, and I've encountered some who are highly efficient and those with poor attention to detail. It seems to be a matter of luck, or perhaps bad luck. Regardless, you're paying for their services, and their prices have continued to increase. They have a local phone number, but when you call, it doesn't reach a local office. Instead, it often rings at their home office or wherever someone is available to pick it up. This leads to miscommunication between their home office and the local office. Miscommunication or just no communication. The previous company would give us adequate notice before a technician was assigned to treat our home, but now you'll receive an automated phone call telling you they'll be there for the next day (!) so you should drop what you're doing and make sure you're at your home if you want to see them treat the interior as well as exterior. (They love to tell you that treating the exterior is enough... can't say that I buy that notion.) I've been hesitant to switch to another company because they often charge upfront fees, and I've been paying these dorks several years now and paid them an upfront fee at the beginning. read more

Company came out and provided an estimate. Workers came out to seal up the one visible entry but could not locate how the squirrels were able to access the roof. Once in the attic, the workers could tell that the animals were able to access the attic so they placed a trap. The workers made a third trip to look for the entry point, nailed a couple of shingles which caused roof leaks that I identified to them on their follow-up trip. Months went by and the squirrels continued to move in. I didn't have additional days to take 3-4 hour blocks off work until the holidays rolled around. I reached back out to the company to come back for help. They informed me that my warranty had expired by one week. Even though they were never able to resolve my squirrel problem, their paid contact with me was over. For service, I would be required to start over again with a new service agreement. The only thing gained from their service is an existing trap, still protruding from my roof, the local birds have enjoyed living in. read more

AWFUL Customer Service. Active pest control is extremely unreliable and unresponsive since they bought out BugOut. Please look elsewhere when considering a pest control company. I've been paying for pest control service for quite sometime and when the tech comes they hardly spray anything, leave without contacting me, and when I've reached out to request addl service I get told 4-6 weeks with an 8hr arrival window lol. I'm a real estate agent and deal with home service companies all the time. This one is terrible. The customer service is very nice but inept. I have never called them for anything where it didn't take 15 minutes because EVERY SINGLE TIME "their computers are down". Second, they apparently keep no ongoing records of interactions with clients as when you call them to follow up with anything they never have record of previous phone calls. I had the Sentricon system installed by Allgood, which was a good company to work with, but since being bought by Active Pest Control (which is now owned by Rentokil), service has been terrible. One of the stations had been damaged because it wasn't installed level with the ground, so I called to have it replaced. I also wanted to relocate one of the stations, and another one is now hidden by deck stairs, so I wanted to set an appointment when I could be home to meet the technician. I was told it was time for the annual inspection anyway, so I thought it would be a good chance to review all the station locations so I know where they are. It took 3 calls to accomplish a simple appointment schedule! The first time, the rep told me she couldn't schedule termite visits and would "have to send the request up to the termite team" and they would call me back. A day later there no return call, so I called again. I was told "it takes 24 hours to get a call back. Don't worry, they'll call by the end of the day." (It had been over 24 hours at that point, but I didn't argue.) Day 3, still no callback, so I called again. This time the phone rep was able to schedule. Did the schedule matter? No, the field tech showed up four days early while I was gone. I got an email receipt that said "cleaned and inspected all 18 Sentricon Station around home" but that was wrong - there are only 12 stations around the home, the other 6 are around my shed, including the broken one that was NOT replaced! It was right in front of the shed in an open are that could not have been overlooked if the technician actually did his job. And it was obvious that the others around the shed had not been inspected either. And one of the ones by the house was hidden by the new deck stairs and had not been checked. (I know this because a 2nd tech had to search for it, uncover it, and when opening it could see that it had not been inspected.) So, never again will I use Active or Rentokil. The call center is terrible, the field techs don't show up when they're scheduled, and they sign off on a statement they've inspected bait stations that they did not inspect, leaving the house subject to potential termite damage because it will be a full year before the next inspection. The only good thing I have to say is that when I called to say that the first field tech didn't finish the job, they scheduled someone else for the next afternoon. He, too, showed up early, outside the appointment window. Luckily I was home because I was delayed in leaving the house on an errand, but that tech was very professional and responsive. read more

I do not recommend Active Pest Control. Our technician did not provide service on our scheduled date in June. I called to acknowledge this the day I received my invoice for that date of service. I double checked our Blink and Ring cameras and no one came to our door that afternoon. After considerable back and forth, the customer service person recommended that I pay for that visit anyway, and the fall visit would be at no additional cost. Well you guessed it, they charged me for that visit anyway and then began collection activity calling me daily, despite our previous agreement and my encouragement for them to pull the audio recordings they'd taken for 'quality assurance purposes.' No quality. No assurance. I found this reneging to be both unprofessional and disingenuous. I paid the invoice because I felt as though my options were negligible. I used Active Pest Control for years and because of this situation, I will not use their services again and I will share this experience with everyone I can. read more

They'll have technicians show up without confirming a time with the customer. They make appointments by just having a robocall letting you know that an appointment has been scheduled (without actually checking your availability first). When you call to try to change an appointment, they'll say they either have no appointments available or will have to submit the request to another department and that you'll get a callback when something becomes available. Of course that callback is on a Friday afternoon letting you know that they've scheduled you for Monday at 7:30am. Do they care if you're actually available Monday at 7:30am? No. No, they do not. When we had mosquito service, I'm fairly certain they were billing us for services that were never performed. Their scheduling department is the worst of any company I've used, and the sad part is that the technicians are just as frustrated with this goat rodeo as the customers are. The technicians are always super nice, but they can't overcome the disaster of a scheduling department. read more

Steer clear of this company. We "defaulted" to them when they bought BugOut and it's been a disaster. Multiple times we had technicians showing up for an appointment that we actually hadn't made -- apparently the company thinks it's appropriate to just set a time without consulting their customers and show up. I'd called to complain and the last time this happened they did send us an email Friday 5pm letting us know--surprise--that they'd be coming Monday morning for our wildlife exclusion inspection. I rearranged my work schedule to be there, and no one ever arrived. No contact from the company, no apology, no attempt to reschedule, no nothing. Even paying them was a nightmare, as emailed invoices come from Rentokil and look so much like a phishing attempt that they would go to my junk folder. Save yourself a headache by going with a reputable local company that's not a part of the far-flung Rentokil pest empire of disorganization. A few months ago, a quarterly pest control was a no show, followed by a bill with an image of another house. I let that go. Everyone is entitled to one stupid mistake. Today, they did the same thing. Different house, not my signature, but I'm sure I will get an Amex notice tomorrow morning. It really is sad, because I loved our pest control company (Allgood) before Active took them over. Now it is just a hairball where one end has no idea of what the other end is doing. Even though I will have to get re-bonded for termites, I will at least not have to deal with this incompetent, disconnected, multi-national, 'service' company ever again. He is through, and goesthe extra mile to remove any yucky spider webs in my court yard with an elongated brush. also I habe closet moths and he is coming back to do the treatment at NO EXTRA COST!! He even gave me suggestions on how to clean my closet t keep moths away..he knows his stuff!! I hope no one gets closet moths, but love to make hole in your favorite sweater and also like to lay moth eggs in the closet too.. so the little babies can enjoy a nice chew on other closet favorites! Very disappointed in this company or what it has become. We were a long time customer of Trademark Pest Solutions which sold to Bugout. Trademark was wonderful. Steadily the quality of reliability and customer service decreased. Regardless, lack of communication and organization leads me to the single star rating. We still have the presence of all pests that GA has to offer and Bugout hasn't called or checked in for months. When I call, it's like they have to fumble around to validate that I'm even a customer. The final straw was a squirrel issue that took place last year. I paid $2,000 for a small cage to go on the side of my house. Once the squirrels were gone, repairs were supposedly made to the side of the house. They did those without any knowledge, approval, quality check, nor when we were home...just showed up and got it done. Well, the repair lasted about 3 days and our furry friends were back in numbers. It took 2 months to get Bugout back out (took 2 weeks to connect via phone). They put the same cage on the side of the house. The cage remained for 10 months!! I called each month to check on the status. No updates...just the secretary saying "I'll get someone out there to remove it." However, they were on the ball about trying to charge me for the Wildlife Warranty of $200 per quarter. When I asked the billing department what the charge consisted of, she said she doesn't deal with the service provider and would be happy to transfer the call after I paid. There are many others better in this industry. Look elsewhere to take your business. read more

I fired them today as the ants continue to be a problem and they cannot seem to find a solution after YEARS. Just the beginning & I'm already left with a sour taste... The 'inspector' should have been a used car salesman... He may not have been pushy like one but he sure knew how to manipulate the situation to get a contract signed. Started off on time, professional & attentive. Then went in for the kill. Preyed on my urgency to address my carpenter ant issue, "If we can get the paperwork in, I can have a technician call you today to schedule a time for either tomorrow or Sat." Then as I'm signing the contract, & inquiring as to why it's a 100 more than he quoted & attempting to clarify the payments, his innocent 'naïveté comes into play, "Huh. I guess maybe there's an extra quarterly payment, I'm not sure. Nobody has asked me that question before." At that point, having somebody come so quickly was worth my confused extra 100, so I signed & cancelled my future estimates with other companies because the wait was over (or so I thought). No scheduling call... That eve, the 'inspector' called to say he was mistaken & no one was available in the next couple of days after all & instead, a technician would call the next day to schedule for the following Tues. No scheduling call... That eve, an automated msg saying I was scheduled for Wed AM. No discussion, no arrangement, no attempt to flex around my work schedule, just boom, take it or leave it. Now that I have been taken as a sucker, I'm on edge of the actual service I'll receive & can do nothing about it - contract signed. Summation for future clients: *Do not let urgency guide your decisions. *Do not sign if cost is more than quoted. *Always remember the initial person is a SALESMAN. We made an appointment for them to come out recently and they were a no-call, no-show. Annoying because we had taken off work to be here for the appointment, but we gave them the benefit of the doubt and made another appointment. Looking back, I find it very strange that the person we spoke to on the phone about nobody showing up didn't seem at all concerned nor did they apologize for our inconvenience. This morning was our rescheduled appointment, they gave us a 2 hour window and my husband once again, took off work and patiently waited for someone to call and arrive. Guess what? No call, no show. Since my account was transferred from Allgood, service has been terrible and shady! They sent me a receipt saying they checked my property for termites and found no evidence of them. The problem is they never even showed up! I checked my ring camera and nobody was there at the time they stated. The back gate was locked all day so there was no way to check for termites. I will not tolerate a company LYING to me. I've also had to call at least 20 times trying to dispute a bill they sent me for a beetle treatment that shouldn't have been charged because the contract is under a 10 year warranty. I rarely leave reviews online, but am extremely frustrated with Active right now. We use them for 3 properties in the Decatur area, and have been trying to reschedule a basic follow-up visit for weeks now. Every time we've called (3x), the customer service rep is not able to confirm an appt time, they have to check with the actual Active Pest office. We are told they will get back to us within 48 hours. We don't hear from them for days, then when we call to follow-up, they have gone ahead and scheduled us for a different time, which they never confirmed with us. The last rep we just spoke with says this happens frequently with them. They have been fine to deal with previously, but there is nothing special about them. It is very easy to switch pest control companies, so we will likely look into that if we can't get this simple appt scheduled in the next few days. read more

I used Active Pest Control in the past and had good experience. I recently called to establish service at a new home and address an immediate flea problem. The initial service required access to the inside of home (fumigation for fleas). I stayed home to provide access and the technician no showed and never called to tell me they couldn't make it during the 4 hour window. I called to reschedule and didn't get a call back. I called again a week later and they told me the next available appointment was two weeks from now (after acknowledging the flea problem). This company seems to be struggling with customer service. I hope they can fix their issues, but I'll be calling someone else to take care of our pest control needs. read more

My Mother has hired Bug Out to do 2 jobs & was cheated twice. 1) replaced a basement pump that could be found @ Lowe's for less than $300 but was charged over $1,000!! She argued with him for weeks before he finally agreed to refund $250. 2) Replace a vapor barrier in a half basement split level home. But she was charged ate the rate for the Full foundation footprint which DOUBLED the Price! After more weeks of arguing with the manager Jason again, he agreed to refund less than half to price but that was 4 months ago & my mother has yet to receive that Promised Refund. I have been a customer of Allgood for years prior to its absorption by Active. Somehow Allgood managed to provide timely quality service throughout COVID. Since the transition to Active in February 2022 I have experienced a no show for quarterly service which I was told was on the schedule when I called to find out what happened -- no explanation, had to reschedule. For unexplained reasons the quarterly service charge has increased but now the tech does exterior treatment only, no interior. This is frankly not effective based on my personal experience. Customer service is hard to reach and quality is inconsistent. I have now been waiting several days for a return phone call to reschedule a termite bond inspection WHICH HAS ALREADY BEEN PAID FOR IN FULL. For some mysterious reason the customer service agent I called to arrange a rescheduling of my existing appt. could not do the rescheduling and told me the 'scheduling dept. would have to call me back. And their web portal is a mess. I have had to re-register multiple times and finally had to call in to talk to their tech dept to regain access. After I manage to get the termite bond service which has been paid for, looking for a new service. This company merger has been a hot mess. read more

We had to keep paying extra..."we don't cover that" was something we were hearing a lot. People's Pest is an easy company to work with. When the company was All Good, it was fabulous! Now active is the last thing the spraying does, in fact, it is sooooo much worse. I think that they are skimping on the spraying (in my 7500 sq ft home for 5 min vs 20 min) and suspect the active ingredients are not active. read more

I've seen the vehicles all around town (my wife has arachnophobia so she's quick to point them out) but I had never interacted or used their services until this morning. My landlord has the house under contract with them and is covering the service so the appointment was taken care of. I've interacted with a good amount of pest, termite, rodent and home care professionals but Cash is truly above all of the others! He was certainly a subject matter expert and he did a great job of informing and not selling. It was a dialogue where we discussed options, what he saw and what he recommended! We are dealing with a bee infestation. Active Pest Control quoted a lesser price than our existing pest control company and I now know why. They treated the bees, which came back a week later. Getting a follow up appointment has been difficult. The phone system prompts are lengthy and the hold time is long. We finally made our appointment but the appointment was entered incorrectly so no one came out. We made appointment number two and despite the past failures, they made no attempt to quickly resolve the problem. When a technician finally came out (now 3 weeks later) he had no idea why he was here, what he was treating or what was previously treated. When I tried to tell him about the previous treatment he got very sarcastic and rude. I told him I was calling his office to inquire so he stormed off and left. Now I have to wait for yet another person to come out which may or may not solve the problem. If we hadn't already paid them I would just call a more reliable company but now I'm stuck waiting for them to fix the problem for the third time. read more

Awful. I had them at my old house for remotes and quarterly roach service. The techs for the quarterly service have been fine. they schedule you without you making an appointment and just tell you when they're going to be out, which I don't like. We have a back gate that's locked and there have been times where they've said they've come out to the house, perform the service, and I have gotten an invoice. I know that can't be right because they can't get into the backyard or inside the house if no one is home. A little shady. Then for termite service, gentleman came out to my house completely unscheduled and expected to put down traps. I told him that I was on my way out and that was not convenient for me and that I would call back and schedule that. I did just that, and when my installation date came, no one showed up. So I reschedule and someone showed up this time. You have a bond with them on an annual basis for $300. Mine was waived because of the unprofessional nature of me trying to get them installed in the first place. however, my boyfriend and I moved out of our home in June, and our termite bond was not up until October. Being that we were moving, I called and had the termite bond and a termite free and clear letter emailed to me so that I could forward them to the new owners. Clearly, the house was being sold. In June, I called to cancel our quarterly pest spray and tell them that we have moved. About a month ago I got an invoice for $300 for a termite bond which is not due up until this month, mind you. I called and told her that the termite bond has been transferred to the new owners and that I will not be paying it as I have not lived there since June. She said no problem and she would take care of it. I got another invoice just today saying that I owe $300. I left them a scathing email and will be calling them tomorrow for sure. This company lacks communication with one another, certainly does not put anything in their computer system, and has switched names more than once, so no one really knows which end is up here. I would look elsewhere for all of your pest control needs. read more

I highly recommend this company. I called because the mosquitoes were terrible at my house, they were swarming us and coming into our home and biting my son while he slept . I was contacted minutes after inquiring about mosquito treatment and set up an appointment and set up easy automatic online payments. The customer service was impeccable and the mosquitos are gone! Ive used other companies before and never had tesults like these. My son is no longer being eaten alive. I higy recommend this company! read more

To add insult to injury ... after I finally got my termite bond inspection scheduled and done, I was waiting on a 're-treatment' as I was spotting insect activity within 6 weeks of my quarterly pest control treatment beyond what would be considered 'normal' for being in GA and being someone who regularly cleans ... everything. I was unable to schedule an appointment until Sept. 9 -- then got an automated call stating they would be showing up Sept. 2 (received a couple days before Sept. 2). When I once more waited an interminable amount of time to actually speak to a human being to let Active know that I was NOT available Sept. 2, I had a Sept. 9 appointment, I was told that since they had a 'slot open' they rescheduled me and could no longer accommodate the Sept. 9 appointment as it had to go through 'the district' or whatever. At that point I said fine, I'm done. You are fired. I got a call back the next morning from a representative who wanted to offer me my September 9 appointment back 'free at no charge' as otherwise it would have been a charge (when I was previously told a retreatment would be no charge -- the only reason it was getting close to my 'normal' quarterly appointment was I had to wait so FRIGGIN LONG for the reschedule). I told the customer service agent she had just confirmed my decision to look elsewhere for my regular pest control service. Once again, for the sake of some good people who did a good job and are now trying to cope with merger dysfunction (from my old Allgood days) I really hope you get your act together. read more

I've been with Skyline a couple/few years now. I think ya'll do a pretty good job. Always attentive and punctual. Your prices are very competitive. A couple of things I noticed - not a big deal but you asked for feedback - mosquito service could be improved by moving to a schedule a little more frequent than monthly. I notice the effectiveness of treatment reduces greatly by the 24th or 25th day. If it gets too buggy outside, I usually call and you are gracious and prompt about performing a re-treat to resolve.
