I used On Target Pest Control for over 8 years and highly recommend this company. The owner, Vinny is efficient, reliable, professional and a very outgoing, kind man. The other technicians are equally incredible and some of them are related to Vinny. A true family owned and operated business. I am petrified of bugs but especially cockroaches. Vinny would come do services in between my usual bi monthly service just to ease my mind and give me a sense of safety. He has great pride in his work and successfully runs his business with honesty and humility. We moved to Savannah so unfortunately had to stop using On Target Pest Control. If I could convince them to come to Savannah I would be thrilled! However I do think others should know of what an eco friendly pest service On Target is. I can attest to safe products because my dogs and infant remained in the home and had zero problems after a service visit. Punctual, professional and I haven't seen any bugs. This is a family owned business ya'll. Support them! They are awesome! I was seeing "waterbugs", spiders & centipedes. You know? Those BIG roaches. They were in the garage heavy and then I started seeing them in my sons' room and that was a little disrespectful to me. I called On Target after looking on Yelp. I just wanted a 1 time treatment, which none of the larger companies offered. They all want you to sign a contract. Since I am renting and didn't feel like there was any type of infestation I didn't want to commit to quarterly or a 1 yr contract. I submitted a request on Yelp. A lady ( I can't remember her name) called me back and asked a few questions. She knew her information, was professional and informative. She told me my options and set the next available appt. The technician arrived with his son in tow. Showing him the business!! We talked, they sprayed and left. Pretty simple. All of my questions were answered. On Target told me if I saw anymore bugs to call them and they would make it right. I liked that. After the treatment, I have seen 3 bugs. The 1st was a few days after treatment. He was on his back! The 2nd was a spider and I smashed him. The last 1 I saw was over a month ago and it was a little small thing so I squashed him. Let me not forget to mention that I have children. 1 has asthma so I was concerned with what grade chemicals were being used and the smell associated. On Target has "GREEN" or "natural" formulas. I truly believe their paying a marketing company to fluff their reputation with 5 star reviews posing like their trustworthy and effective. There is no way they're this good. They didn't have any advanced tools, didn't use an effective process to remediate problem. The "technician" placed all the rat traps right at the attic door/ladder vs. spreading traps in different areas of the attic. Don't trust these folks. It's all fake marketing. read more

If I could rate Vinny and team a 10, hell if I could rate them 100, I would!! I recently moved from NYC to ATL to a renovated barn loft for a few months. Three nights in, I saw the biggest cockroach I have ever laid eyes on crawl across my couch. Mind you, I have had my fair share of experiences with these critters while living in arguably the dirtiest city in America. Let me tell you, this thing was the size of my palm, looked like what can only be described as a descendant of a dinosaur, and had wings. After what I thought was an isolated incident, I soon realized this first unwelcome houseguest had also invited all of his friends. JOY!! I called Vinny at exactly 8:00AM on the dot and he came to save the day as quickly as he could. He assured me, that no they would not fight back, would not purposely crawl on my face and would not retaliate if I killed one of their brethren. He did, however, let me know that I had a legitimate issue and would probably need to see him in another 30 days. Listen... I am HERE for that honesty. I had this company come to my rental in Decatur in May. They sent a young kid out and he arrived at the same time I had a contractor there. I wasn't able to monitor him the whole time. He was there about 30 minutes. I have had pest control out for other properties and they remove outlet covers and go into the attic and crawl space. I never saw him do any of this. He kept telling me I might still see roaches for a couple of weeks. Well it has been almost 2 months and they are still there. I have called 6 times and I get voice mail every time. They have never returned my calls. This company is a sham. It is a waste of money to have them treat your home. I am doing a negative review on BBB also. Avoid these crooks. read more

We have been using On Target for almost two years now for a very nasty, disgusting and persistent cockroach problem. I love that the solution they use is naturally based. We had On Target Pest Control out to our house today. I am so happy we called them. They were quick, thorough, and inexpensive. I was also able to use a yelp coupon for 25 dollars off of my service, no questions asked. I just bought the yelp coupon, handed it to him when he came, and the transaction was done. Also, the specialist that came out (I think his name was Vinny based on some of these other posts) was super helpful. He walked me through the basics of spraying and baiting (i had never used the service before). He also answered all of my questions knowledgeably. After coming home from an overnight at an Airbnb cabin in North Georgia over Memorial Day weekend in 2019, my partner and I were each covered in 40+ bites that turned out to be from a major bedbug infestation. From a one night stay. At any rate, we'd already been home for a day when our family members who were still at the cabin and continued to get bitten finally pieced it together. Given the portability of bedbugs and what felt like new bites, we reached out to On Target. I was six months pregnant at the time and didn't want any issues to get out of hand, especially with a baby in the house three months down the road. Scheduling with the office was a breeze, and Vinny was able to come out and see us within a day or two if I recall, which is super fast. He had us walk through step by step the sequence of events, e.g., where we had placed our luggage at the cabin (by our beds unfortunately), the characteristics of the bites, where we had placed our luggage after returning home (once again, unfortunately by our beds), any other locations we had gone to or persons who had visited us, etc. He did a thorough inspection of the house and could not yet find any live bugs, but since I had been through bedbugs before in another housing situation (hippie roommate, used mattress) and had accumulated bites for a week or two before a live bug was eventually found, I wasn't about to take any chances (again, it's just not worth it, esp while pregnant). Vinny provided an overview of the products to be used which would not present risks during pregnancy, and we were able to get our house treated. A year later, we are bedbug free. I used On Target from March 2018 until August 2019. I originally called for general maintenance and German cockroaches. I was extremely disappointed that 1 1/2 years later after treatments, the cockroaches remained. After each treatment, the number did diminish. However, then it would slowly build back up. I purchased my own products online and heavily treated ONE time and POOF! They are gone! Since my last treatment, I've not received any follow-up as I was told I would. I had the worst experience with Vinnie Ferguson and On Target Pest Control. It was truly horrible and caused oodles of stress. Mr. Ferguson did not keep scheduled appointments, did not initiate the completion of work that he had been paid for, mislead us on the services that he was to render and did a horrendous job when he finally completed the work. Does it really take two months and a half months to complete a job for which you have been paid? For this company, it does. And, when there are options available shouldn't they be presented to the home owner for their decision? For this company, Mr. Ferguson thinks he knows best, so he doesn't need to ask what the home owner wants. We tried to be nice, patient and understanding, but we were totally ignored and abused. We've had Vinny coming to our house about 3 years now and NOT once have we had a problem. He's always been courteous, relatively on time and takes in account that we have 3 small dogs so he knows we don't want chemicals sprayed. We've had less insect problems using On Target than we had using Terminex. We've never had the problems that H.S. has mentioned in his review. I like that Vinny is a small business owner and I'm a strong supporter of local business owners versus the big companies like Terminex that just really make you a number. read more

Karen rocks on the phone and setting up schedules, especially mine since I work in Sandy Springs and live in Summerhill and rely on MARTA to get me around the traffic. They are always on time, super speedy, amazing, knowledgeable, and fun to talk with. Vinnie is great, too. We always have a good time chatting and just loved Sade (my kitty that just passed away). Their prices are incredibly reasonable and I'm perfectly happy to spend $300 a year on quarterly inspections. If I have any issues between each inspection, it's no cost for them to come and get rid of what is inevitably the dreaded ants. He came today for our initial visit and made sure I understood everything about the products that would be used-- plant based and not toxic to humans or pets, which is a huge plus for me since I don't like using chemicals. I hate to say it but I have to agree with the review HS left. Our experience with Vinnie began in December 2010. We noticed some droppings in our crawl space. A friend in another nearby intown neighborhood was in the process of using Vinnie for some mice/rat problems and gave us his contact information. We met with him and paid him $1000 for entrapment and exclusion which really involved him setting out traps and returning to get the buggers in the traps (twice) and putting cement in crevices around the space where it was likely the guys were getting in. We questioned the price in hindsight but wanted to get the problem resolved quickly so went with him. While what he did took care of our problem the issues we experienced with him were not the "what's" but the "hows": poor follow-up. We had to track him down it seemd (vs. him proactively reaching out to us) to ensure the process and the project stayed on track and was completed per the timeframe we discussed. Also, as part of our contract/payment he agreed to spray for cockroaches for us (what he referred to as Smoky Browns) and that never, ever happened. I was not wanting to spin my wheels anymore so did not pursue the matter. I thought a better businessman would have followed up and been more responsive. Turns out my friend had a very similar experience with him and was very apologetic about referring him to us. Nice guy when you first meet him. He needs to work on follow-up and his customer service skills after he gets paid. read more

I am really shocked by H.S.'s negative review as we (like Michael) have had truly wonderful experiences with Vinny and could not say enough positive things about him and his services. We pay a very reasonable amount for Vinny to come to our home 4 times / year and that includes any additional times in between when we see bugs. He came out today with 30 minutes notice when we had a few ants! Vinny is very friendly and active in the Decatur community, and he is EXTREMELY knowledgeable regarding what types of bugs, flies, etc are entering our house and how to best treat them. I highly recommend Vinnie Ferguson and On Target Pest Control -- a local small business that gets a difficult job done. My wife and I found out we had roofrats in our attic shortly after buying our home in 2011. This turns out to have been a longstanding infestation, and we could hear animal noises coming from above every night, making it very hard to get any sleep. Called On Target and left a message, got a prompt callback from Vinnie Ferguson and he came by the next day to check the house. Vinnie struck me as an extremely personable and sincere person. Turns out we also had Norway rats infesting the crawlspace. These were aggressive infestations. Vinnie told us it could take weeks and even months to deal with this problem. He came regularly after that, laying traps and plugging the entry points in the attic and crawlspace. It was a running battle to deplete the population. Vinnie came every other day to check traps, plug tunnels, and cart off the rat casualties. And, maybe a month and a half later, we finally had silence in the house, with no sign of rats. And that has continued to the present. I can't thank Vinnie enough for his hard work and tenacity. He even fixed our attic ladder trapdoor when it collapsed and took care of an ant problem in the kitchen. He was always available, reachable by phone or text, and offered to come in the middle of the night if we were hearing persistent noises. Vinny with On Target tPest Control got rid of my cockroaches when nobody else could. After replacing a kitchen wall and all the kitchen cabinets, I was killing 30+ cockroaches every single day. They weren't scared of me, wouldn't run, and it made,me feel like I was the guest in the cockroaches' home. Vinnie has a good product and stands by his work. After his first visit I saw a massive improvement, same with the second, and after the third I saw no more cockroaches at all....and this was treating a severe infestation.
