We used to have bug issues in our 60's style small ranch house in Tucker, GA. Tried 1-2 other services in years past & were not impressed with the results for the money spent.| We decided to try Orkin/Rollins for issues in home, carport etc. at least 1 yr ago I believe we are serviced out of Branch152 managed by Mike Brewer. Our Technician's name is Derrick. Since using these guys, we have had zero issues in the home! This was after trying all manner of do-it-yourself chemistry with spotty results. We have 2 dogs, Cav. Spaniels... they use pet friendly chemicals in perimeter areas of rooms the dogs hang out in. Dogs do not even notice it was done. They notify ahead of planned visits and on day of visit I am emailed when they are enroute. Just excellent communication and results. Price is quite reasonable - well worth it to us and we're considering adding mosquito spraying in springtime. I see some negative reviews... all branches may not be created equal--big company. We had our Orkin tech come out because there was a smell in our garage that we believed was caused by a dead rodent. The initial technician inspected part of our crawl space and told us he didn't find anything. He said their inspection specialist would need to come out. The next day, the inspection representative spent very little time in the crawl space but quickly concluded that the smell was coming from rodent droppings and recommended a crawl space cleaning and sanitizing service for $1,000. A week later, the crew completed the service. They never came to explain what they found or review the work before leaving. I had to go ask whether they had found anything, and I was told they had found a dead rat but they did not show me the rat or even a photo of it. The smell disappeared for a few days but returned even stronger just 4 days later. When we called Orkin back, the same inspection rep finally performed a more thorough inspection of the crawl space. Within minutes, he discovered a leaking cast iron drain pipe from our kitchen sink that had been dumping sewage into the crawl space. He also pointed out an inch of standing water throughout the crawl space and told us we needed to call a plumber. My question: if there was standing sewage water throughout the crawl space, how did the crew that supposedly cleaned and sanitized it never mention it? How was that completely missed during a $1,000 service? We paid for a crawl space cleaning based on what Orkin diagnosed as a rodent odor, only to learn the actual source of the smell was a sewage leak that should have been identified from the beginning. Unfortunately, customer service has been just as disappointing. I spoke with the branch manager, Ron, on Thursday. He told me he would investigate what happened and call me back on Monday because another manager was out of the office. Monday came and went with no call. On Tuesday, I called back and was told Ron was at lunch and would return my call. He never did. On Wednesday, I called again and spoke with the CS representative, who tried unsuccessfully to reach Ron. She then informed me there were no notes in my account indicating that I had ever called the day prior. She escalated the issue, and I specifically asked that they call my phone number rather than the number on the account, which belongs to my husband. Later that afternoon, my husband received a voicemail from another manager, Travis, stating that Ron was actually out of the office all week. When I returned Travis's call, I was told he was unavailable because he was on service calls and that he would call me back. He never did. I called again the following morning and was once again told he was unavailable. At this point, I'm more frustrated by the lack of accountability than anything else. I spent $1,000 on a service that failed to address the actual problem, and now I can't get anyone to return my calls or provide a meaningful resolution. The lack of communication, documentation, and follow-through is completely unacceptable. Based on my experience, I would never recommend Orkin and can't wait to cancel our service. read more

We maintained a moisture barrier contract with Orkin for 26 yrs, of which we have copies of receipts, and Orkin told us every year that our crawlspace was dry, and the moisture barrier in good condition. In January of 2020 we inadvertently discovered that our crawlspace was contaminated with toxic category 3 black water,including sewer worms and flies and a foul odor. Orkin had supposedly inspected the space just several weeks prior in October 2019 and gave us a written receipt saying the crawlspace was dry, intact and in good condition. We were forced to move out of our home for health reasons with our pet for 34 days while the space was remediated and made safe. Prior to moving out , a foul odor and masses of sewer flies were present in our home. An Orkin account manager came to the house and actually said he did not think the technician had actually gone into the crawlspace in 2019 and that the technician is no longer with the company. However, Orkin refuses to reimburse us fairly for this nightmare even after admitting their technician did not do his job and wrongfully provided us with a false receipt that all was in good condition. Public beware of an immoral , greedy and wealthy Orkin who refuses to do the honorable thing. It is big business taking advantage of the little man. We have filed a formal complaint with the BBB of Atlanta. read more

I have had a termite contract with Orkin for years, and when a major construction project caused a rodent problem I called them. The inspector said I needed a trench exclusion around the perimeter of my home. She explained that the metal would prevent the rodents from tunneling under my home. The cost was $3000. I trused them. The service did not stop the rodents. I was in shock when I saw gaps that were left around my home. I called Orkin, and they sent the inspector back out to my home. She was rude and unprofessional. She did not want to take pictures of the gaps, and refused to take the ones I asked her to. I have lost all faith in this company. I believe them to be dishonest. I would never trust them. read more

My tech was always fussing about his health problems and never did get rid of the bugs. He always left the glue traps and didn't replace them unless I mentioned them specifically and showed him where he left them the last time he was there. I worked for the company but never let my technician know because I wanted to see how good they really are. Not very. I got rid of Orkin, went to Home Depot, bought a $10 bottle of bug spray. I spray around the outside of my house once a month and I have managed to do on my own with a $10 product what Orkin, a global company, couldn't do for $55 per month. I never have written a negative review for a company before, but my service with this local Orkin branch was so bad I felt it necessary. We decided to cancel with Orkin after several months of lazy and ineffective service (only spraying half the house, total time at residence less than 5 minutes, no concern that we were still having problems, etc). It was a ridiculous process to get our service cancelled. We had to speak with somebody in the office three times, over the course of three months, to cancel our service. Every time they failed to cancel our service, even though they assured us they canceled it. They refused every time to send out a confirmation email to show cancellation, stating they "were too large of a company to do that". Like, really? Too large of a company to send a confirmation email? They also promised refunds for the services they kept charging us after we cancelled, and we have yet to receive the refunds. The reps on the phone always said they would "leave a note for their manager". Code for nothing was going to get resolved because they just didn't care. We are now using a service much more expensive but worth it so we don't have to deal with Orkin anymore. read more

I have had a great experience with Orkin. I usually get the same service tech at my house, who I really like. He is very friendly and always here in the block of time I am expecting and he calls once he is on his way. I do wish the scheduling was done a little differently - they will usually call me a day or two before they send someone out with the time frame and I'm sometimes unavailable. However, they are great with rescheduling if it is an issue, I just have to call. read more

I am rarely one to write a negative review but in this case I feel obligated to warn other potential customers. My Orkin tech put a note on my door saying I wasn't home when I was literally sitting in my living room. I was charged $99 for this. When I called to complain and have the tech sent out I was charged another $99. When I called to complain about THIS I was told on four separate occasions that a supervisor would call me back. Never once did. Now they are trying to send me to collections. An absolute scam! And their prices are 20-30% higher than any other pest control. Choose someone else. Simply not worth it.
