Lemon Capers Red Snapper & Pita Bread
Grant B.

Both romantic & casual, Acropolis appeals to the eyes just as much as to the tastes. Presentation & service were immaculate (our waitress Zima was superb), leaving diners feeling at home or in the Mediterranean. Music was subtle & peaceful, not overbearing. Pita bread has an edge of garlic and is classily soft & fresh. They will even wrap it to-go in foil if you have any left over. Our starting soups were simply divine -- my lentil was so nice & warm & my partner's avgolemono shone as if it were the light. Let me hone in on the Lemon Caper Red Snapper. Thick & perfectly done, dressed with delectable sauce rightly dotted with sizable capers, this was probably the best fish dish I've had in a decade. Absolutely a premier entree of this establishment & the Harker Heights area. My party enjoyed the decent sized Kofta meat serving with a nice cinnamon-y red sauce & the roasted cauliflower was hearty as they come. There are some really nice GF (gluten-free) options on the elegant menu & the chef will even work with you if you have specific needs or requests. Speaking of chef, it's cool to be able to look into the kitchen window from the dining room to see the hard work going on for accountability & cleanliness. I'm a big fan of transparency & the love between chefs/cooks & diners because the energy is palpable in a positive way here that makes you appreciate the experience so much more. It's too bad I've neglected this gem in the area since I particularly love Greek food. I won't anymore. It's worth mentioning again how the waitresses/servers in the room were all professional & kind! Consider me sold & you will be too.

Beef Stew

Came here for dinner and left wanting more! We live in temple so rarely travel to harker heights, but our friends have been talking about a Greek restaurant here for months so decided to check it out! Externally it was unassuming restaurant, but inside it was nicely decorated and clean. Our waitress was attentive! I accidently dropped my fork and she replaced it immediately without being asked The four dip appetizer was amazing! The feta cheese really left an impression on us! It was cold so I got the beef stew, and it was a little watery for my taste, but overall amazing! We also got a traditional gyro wrap and absolutely loved it. We cannot wait to come back!

Consistently great food, probably the best restaurant in Harker Heights/ Kileen area. Keep up the amazing cooking.

Traditional Wrap

Pleasantly surprised by this place! The interior is well-designed with mood lighting and live music at a good volume in the background so you can still enjoy your conversation. We were seated promptly and didn't have to wait. They don't have an updated drink menu which was a little bit of a disappointment, but the waitress helped me pick out a nice glass of wine. The four dips appetizer was tasty. For my entree, I had the traditional wrap with gyro meat and a side of rice. It was delicious! The serving was large and I couldn't finish it. Overall, a great experience and I hope to be back soon.

Jhume, our wait staff, was very patient and helpful in making us decide on which ones we needed to try. I explained that we had not been to a Greek restaurant before and she was very understanding. Food was great!

Meat looks and taste disgusting like it's old

We tried again several months later and it's been great. I'm happy to have a Greek restaurant near by again.

Small Greek restaurant, very clean, friendly staff. My husband really liked the lamb, I got the lemon soup and it was just ok for me.

Well, I really wanted to like this place. I love the atmosphere. I am a huge fan of reusing and…read morecelebrating old buildings. The choices that seem to have gone into the reuse of materials and the decorating style get 5 stars from me. The two staff members we interacted with couldn't have been any nicer or more attentive. From the first greeting to saying goodbye, they were great. The plate presentation was unusual, but very attractive. All of that said, this is still a restaurant. I had a Brisket Burger. The burger itself on the pretzel roll was ok, but the Brisket..... I have lived in Texas all of my life. I have had Brisket from some truly talented pit masters, and I always judge it by the tenderness, smoke ring, and bark. This was mushy and wet (not moist, more like it was boiled?) and very pale with little taste. If this did start as Brisket, then what was done to it is borderline criminal. Overheard another customer talking to the owner (I believe), commenting on the unusual choice of cornbread waffles with the Chicken Fried Chicken, and her response was that she was from "up North", and didn't understand "Texas Toast" served down here. Maybe that is the issue. When you hear a name like "Let's Eat Texas" you are expecting food cooked a certain way, with a certain taste. Maybe they should rename it "Let's Eat New Jersey", at least then you would know what you were getting into.
