I wish there were more stars to give on this one! I started out looking on Yelp for the reviews for local movers, I sent out for a few estimates and Kedric from Acme Moving was one of the first to respond. I was hoping he and his company weren't too good to be true by the Yelp reviews I've already read, but I emailed with him a bit and got my quote, which was better than most as his company does not charge you from the time they leave their place til the time they get back to their place, so with that part done we just waited for moving day to come still praying he's THIS good! Well the day before we were booked to move, we found out we couldn't move yet! I was freaking out and pretty unhappy with some people to say the least. So I called Kedric with this horrible news and asked if he would be willing and able to do a last minute move and he said something like "absolutely! That's what we specialize in!" Oh I was so relieved! He told me just keep him updated and let him know ASAP when the move would take place. So I did just that and I believe we had 3-4 days notice. This was an extremely stressful time for me. I've moved many many times and have come to actually dislike it more than going to the dentist! So I was so relieved and a huge weight was lifted when Kedric said it'll be alright! We had to move in the afternoon which was fine with us and he and his assistant showed up right when they said they would. They quickly moved everything out of our 2nd story apartment in downtown Kent, loaded up the truck (thankfully the sprinkles didn't progress into rain and stopped!) they got us into the new place (thankfully no stairs here). They were professional, friendly, extremely helpful and actually care. Kedric said this is what I can do and he did exactly that! It was within the time he quoted me and not one thing was broken or anything. I highly recommend Acme Moving! If you're planning a move, give Kedric a call or email! I promise you won't be sorry! Acme Moving Labor packed our goods, including breakable high value goods and extremely valuable art. They loaded three storage PODS and subsequently a moving van. Our goods were transported over 1300 miles and everything arrived in the same condition as it was months earlier when we moved it from our home into temporary storage. Kedric Jackson and his team are professionals. They arrive on time, are courteous, perform the work requested and do it at an exceptional level. They communicate clearly and continually, maintaining the client's best interest as their primary focus. When our goods arrived at the distant location we hired a local moving company to unload the van. These people repeatedly praised the job Acme Labor did in packing the van. In their words, "who ever packed this van deserves all 5's (implying that 5's were the highest rating you could receive)." We moved over 35 pieces of original fine art. Some pieces are museum quality. Acme Labor managed the packing of each piece. All pieces made the move and arrived in perfect condition. Over the years we have moved 8 times although this is the first time we moved what has become a very valuable art collection. Our previous moves used national moving companies with long established reputations. Our experience with Kedric Jackson/Acme Moving far exceeded any prior moving experience. I worked for Kedric just short of a year, when I was hired I was already a proficient worker but when I left I ended up being "the best hire I've ever had" from my current employer. This is because Kedric expects only the best from his employees and accepts nothing less than top notch professionalism. The workers at Acme Moving Labor our are hand picked to take only the best of the best. It takes more than just being a mover working here because it takes something extra to perform moves at a impressively fast pace and organized manner where nothing gets damaged.. we were trained how to properly handle furniture around doorways, handrails, and tight corners on or off stairs efficiently so nothing gets damaged or dinged. There are countless procedures to follow for a move to go smooth and Kedric makes sure they are all followed. Kedric knows how to take care of business, I watched as he continued working as his hip progressively got worse and then as he bounced right back to performing moves as soon as he recovered.. maybe even a little before he recovered. Nothing can slow down a team of movers at Acme. I can't say there are many people I know who I respect as much as I do Kedric, working here was a pleasure, very hard work, and I came out of this intense job for the better. Coworkers who have worked at other moving companies know that this company expects more of them than any other moving company by a long shot. My fiance and I take care of his elderly parents and really needed help with this move. Moving 3 households into one was just so overwhelming. Kedric and his crew were amazing! They were professional and kind. They worked so hard. We could not have been happier or more relieved that we had hire Acme Moving Labor to help with the heavy lifting. Not only did they help us with the lifting of heavy furniture...they lifted the spirit of the entire move. I had a huge basement filled with a combination of boxes of medical files, file cabinets, furniture, tools, household and kitchen items, breakables (stereo equipment, vases) artwork, a freezer and much more--all too much for me to consider moving and fitting into a storage unit outside on the property-- all too much to even look at it. Acme Moving Labor took care of it all without a hitch. It was obvious from the start that they have had years of experience in how to organize and pack the items to be able to fit them in the Unit and in a way that the breakables were protected and also so that I could have access to the items I will need to get into. they showed up promptly and wasted not time. They are efficient, professional, friendly, trustworthy, and extraordinarily competent. They even covered up with tarps a pile of giveaways we are not storing. Probably the best movers out there!!! Absolutely great!! Mr. Kedric Jackson is the business owner, and for my job he brought a crew of 3 including himself. They arrived right on time and worked tirelessly and meticulously on all of the project. I had moved into a small condo but brought most of what was in a 1200 SF house. The job was loading everything from the condo ( which looked like an episode of "Hoarders"!) back into a POD - the larger one. I had a lot of books, some furniture and some delicate artwork and paintings. Can't say enough about how caring and focused each person was, with Kedric in particular being very much on top of every detail. It was impressive and a pleasure to have them rescue me. I have back trouble and a recently fractured wrist. They brought boxes, packing blankets and materials. Look no further -- Acme Moving & Labor, and Kedric are the real deal. read more

We were referred to AMCE Moving by Dan at UNITS Portable Moving & Storage. The crew was gracious and attentive to our needs. They were led by Kedric Jackson who directed his crew the way a conductor directs his orchestra. They were fast and efficient, they didn't take breaks, they managed some extremely heavy furniture down three flights of stairs and packed it into a container utilizing every square inch of the container's interior space, floor to ceiling and wall to wall. I kept them longer than projected but they stayed without qualm until the last item was packed and the container was locked. They were on time, on task and absolutely as warm and cordial and gracious as they could be. We were stuck last minute and Acme was able to help us out. All I can say are good things. They were fast and like I read in another in another review he only charged is for the time worked, only three hours! I bought the large moving boxes and packed them heavy and it was no problem they just grabbed their dollies and had the stuff down the stairs in no time. Both him and I believe it was his son were very polite even making sure to do the little things. Of course we wanted to give them a tip for doing such a great job and all they really wanted was for a review and that's the least I could do. If you read this thanks again. Great experience. Team was on time, fast, professional, friendly, they hustled but were also conscious of fragile items... Having worked in a military logistics unit, I appreciated the skill they brought. Had them help unload a large U-Haul truck into a storage unit after a cross-country move. They didn't JUST move heavy stuff, thoughtful planning of what should go where for the best access to the items & utilization of the storage space and efficiency of effort. Took a few moments to think thru the best way(s) to move everything, and then they were off to the races; still came in right on the estimated time/hourly rate. After several long-distance moves, military & civilian, I'd use them again in a heartbeat. read more

Kedric and team were awesome - extremely efficient, polite and accommodating. I had over 9 tons of furniture to move - 3 tons of which had to be moved up 2 flights of stairs. They were careful with the walls - still wet from paint - and made sure each item was stacked in orderly fashion without particular instruction from me. I expected the move to take at least 4 hours but they finished in 3, meaning lower cost to me. Kedric came in ready to work - not a minute went by without each team member moving an item. I had an unnamed moving company back out on me less than week before I was supposed to move. I suspect because it was a small move and only 1 block away and it wasn't worth their time, although they initially committed to me. I tracked down ACME Moving Labor and spoke with Kedric. He provided an accurate quote and accommodated the short notice on the Friday before Memorial Day. He and his staff were on-time, efficient, friendly, worked hard, and had me done in 3 hours. Found this company on Yelp and all the positive comments are correct! The guys were punctual and extremely helpful. They are pros who know their job and work efficiently and very carefully. In my move they packed my 30-foot U-Haul truck (including my piano) and then unloaded it all at the new place. In both houses they were super cautious about bumping or scratching (both the furniture and the walls) and even rolled out the red carpet to avoid any soil on the floor. Doing all this they moved quickly and with fun positive attitudes. I would definitely hire them again and recommend them for your move! read more

I couldn't be happier with Acme! Kedric showed up early with Dwan and Antonio and they quickly and professionally got my UNIT unloaded and carefully placed my furniture where it needed to go. Kedrick and his crew are awesome. We knew we wouldn't be able to move our entire 3-bedroom house by ourselves, so we hired 4 movers and a 26' truck for 6 hours. I underestimated the amount of stuff we had and Kedrick was really helpful finding a second truck/trailer to get everything moved in one trip. The move ended up taking 9.5 hours and his crew did an amazing job, protecting the floors and walls of both houses, wrapping our furniture to prevent damage, moving heavy pieces of furniture up and down stairs. Kedric and his crew were amazing! Our move started off as a bit of a fiasco with our moving containers being delivered 2 hours late (Door to Door). Kedric and his crew were right on time, and they WAITED patiently for the containers to be delivered. As soon as the containers 'hit the deck', his crew went straight to work, fast and efficiently. They carefully unloaded all 4 containers in 1 hour and made sure that we were satisfied with the placement of everything throughout our house. Kedric and his team were fantastic! With only a couple hours notice, they unloaded a full UPack trailer for us into a two story home including a piano in two hours. Not only are they fast, but they are very careful, taking extra precautions not to damage the items or the home into which they are being moved. This company did a great job of carefully unloading my two PODS after a 1250 mile move trip. Two men unloaded the PODS in 2hrs as each POD came on different days because only one 16' would fit at my new home at a time.
