I eventually took it to Acme Locksmith, to a man named Shaun. He could not make a key to unlock it but he was determined to. I locked my keys in my car and called several locksmiths prior to calling Acme. All the people I spoke with at the previous places were very rude and made me feel like I was bothering them. None of them could provide me with an exact fee quote, stating that the price "starts at $____ and goes up from there". One place even hung up on me after I said I would call them back if nothing else worked out. I was already frustrated when I called Acme. The woman I spoke with on the phone was very nice and helpful and put me at ease. She was able to quote me a very reasonable flat fee and stated they could be out within the hour. I agreed to these terms and met with Ryan in about 45 minutes. He got into my car in just a few minutes and he was really nice and professional about the whole thing. We bought our new house and used the Rosie-on-the-House referral network to find Acme Locksmith. They were professional, fast and went above the service I expected. We hired them to re-key the locks in the house. The friendly technician came out and took the time to not only re-key the locks but he also noticed that the deadbolts were not seated as deeply as they could be for better security. He bored out the dead bolt holes and checked to be sure everything was in working order. He then took a few minutes to give us some tips on ways to increase or home's security that were very helpful. A few days later we had to go to their shop to buy a replacement lock for our USPS mailbox and the store clerk was very friendly and knew exactly what we needed. Acme was the locksmith I got when I ordered rekey service through Amazon Services. They were responsive to my questions before I had my service. I had 7 locks rekeyed, mailbox lock replaced and sliding glass door double bolt lock installed. Price was better than others based on my research. Ryan did my locks. He was nice and professional. He gave me suggestion for a garage door opener even though I wasn't getting a reprogram service from him. I got my service on a Saturday. He was on time. The only negative I can say is he got interrupted multiple times for calls from other customers inquiring for service. I think that the on-site tech gets all the calls during weekends. He did apologize for them, and still finished the job on time. Will definitely recommend! read more

The dealership who I purchased my car from gave me a new keyless entry remote, but did not have the tool to sync it to the car without an original being present. They just advised me "not to let anyone charge me too much to get it working." The official service centers were charging $120 just to sync the remote, which made me begin to realize what I had been warned against. Calling around to several of the traveling locksmith operations, they all came off on the phone as very shady telemarketers trying to rush me into the next step with as little info as possible. Apparently it would be $15 to have a technician drive out, $70 to sync the remote, and an unspecified fee depending on what type of sync the car required, which they refused to quote me (the last one I called couldn't tell me the fee but did go ahead and gave my phone number to their technician without my permission). No thanks. I finally stumbled upon Acme, who was a world apart from the others, almost seeming too good to be true. They had a physical location I could visit in my own time without being charged, and were $10 less expensive than the other places for the service I requested, and there would be no mysterious fee at the end. The work was done in under 5 minutes, and they were also able to grind me a spare key and sync it to the car for a very reasonable price in an equally short amount of time. I've always been careful where I leave my keys, unfortunately with age I've found that the thing I do best now is losing stuff. Sadly my keys are not immune to my senility or forgetfulness. I've recently gone about trying to temper this problem by making copies of my keys, but the big box stores have your most commonly used keys/locks which is fine for most of my keys but I had about four high quality locks that apparently don't move enough product to justify keeping in stock. I was referred here by an ACE hardware employee. To my surprise this store has just about every key possible (and more) the keys I needed had to practically be made by hand from some of their stock one at a time. The extra cost? none, granted the cost per key was a tad bit more than the limited ones the big box stores carry, however the cost for over a dozen keys made (all by hand and sizing) were still a fraction of the cost of one new lock. In my case, I did have to bring the locks with me so each key could be confirmed it worked, but only took 20 minutes and that was mostly the employee waiting for me to stop fooling around with all the interesting locks they have at the store for demonstration. I strongly encourage those of you to try this location out. I did not have them come to my location to do a "lock out" or unlock something for me, but I'm certain their service would be just as stellar if they did. I see there is one low rated review in regards to a programming a key for a car. I am not certain what specifically the dealer told that gentleman, but I can assure you in my case I opted to have acme do it - the dealership wanted to charge 799.99 + labor for extra keys and programming, ACME - 235 + tax for the same amount of work. I'll be having ACME take care of my lock needs from now on, I can see why they have and A+ rating with the BBB. read more

The owner Robert was very friendly and informative. He kindly set up an appointment to have our new home rekeyed and provided the price it would cost to do so. I also requested Robert to please give me a 30 minute heads up so I could have time to get home to have the work done. Bobby (the senior locksmith) came out to our home and arrived before I could get home and he was great to call me to let me know he was already here. I apologized for being behind schedule, and in spite of my tardiness in arriving, (I know that he had a busy schedule) Bobby was cool about it. While rekeying the door locks, Bobby explained a device that makes it more difficult for a lock to be picked and I opted to have them installed on the dead bolts. He only charged me for one of them which was a totally cool and unexpected. I am very impressed with ACME Locksmith here in Mesa and will be using them any time we need repairs, rekeying or new locks on our home. Thanks Bobby for being so cool and for your great job! I went to ACME for a 2nd time today. The first time I went a guy named Sean did a great job on my lexus key and assembly. Today my wife's lexus needed a key made also so I went back based on Sean's great work the first time. I knew there was also an ignition kink when turning the key but I didn't realize that it caused the damage to the key shell until Sean diagnosed it.
