We had their cheese board (not on the menu) and deep fired calamari to start. Every dishes were good especially the Branzino (Seabass), Vongole Alla Chitarra (handmade noodles). Adding truffles to your dishes would also be good! We had a very interesting Italian white wine (see my photo). It is so fruity and refreshing but it does have what wine supposed to be! Will definitely come back!

Went here for a birthday party yesterday and it was pretty busy (Saturday night). It's a big place…read morewith lots of tables and booths. Modern decor and very clean. A good amount of TVs showing sports too. Our waitress greeted us with a smile and immediately took our drink order--they have lots of beer on tap. The menu has a little bit of everything with prices ranging from $15 to $25 for entrees. I ordered the Memphis chicken sandwich with the hot sauce on the side, along with garden salad, and thankfully they carry Thousand Island dressing. The entree came up within 40 minutes. The Memphis chicken sandwich was prepared well with a good amount of bacon and cheddar cheese, but they used a very small piece of chicken breast. It's a good thing I got the hot sauce on the side as it was really spicy. The garden salad was a disappointment as it was a super small portion. I still felt hungry after eating the small portioned plate--Not good. Another partygoer ordered the chicken Parmesan entree but it also came with a small piece of chicken and very little vegetables, although they said it was tasty. In summary, the portions here are small for the price you pay. Not good value at all.

I wanted to take my wife to a nice restaurant for her birthday and after some looking I decided to…read moretake her to Lord Nelson in Burlington. It's located in a small unassuming strip mall. When we entered we weren't greeted and the young coat check/hostess seemed a bit timid and confused. Eventually an older lady greeted us and I told her we had a reservation, which in the notes online I had requested "a quiet table for 2". The lady explained that they were having an "event" today and we could have a table in a private room that is quieter but the table in the main room is much nicer. Not wanting to make a fuss I told her the regular table would be fine. It wasn't too long afterwards I regretted this decision as the main room was very loud, and after another group was seated next to us it got even rowdier. It felt more like a pub during a game night rather than a fine dining restaurant. (This was on a Thursday evening) The hostess did check our coats which was nice. Anyways, I read in the reviews that the Caesar salad is made table side and is really good so we started with that. My wife ordered the Lord Nelson special and I got the Chicken Supreme. Shortly after we ordered we were brought a small platter with pickles, olives, Pate and a bowl of garlic bread. I have been to restaurants before where they bring you complimentary bread but this was 2 tiny pieces of garlic bread. I tried it with the pate but it was better on its own as the pate didn't have much of a taste to it. Eventually the waiter set up the salad table and began to make it infront of us. He appeared to be making the dressing and everything from scratch but I can't be sure as he didn't really explain what he was doing. He just started mixing and mashing and I couldn't tell what some of the ingredients were. It would have been great if he explained what he was doing or even asked if we cared. Especially considering this salad costs almost $50. About 1/3 of the way through he stopped to help another table light something. He took the lighter they were using to try and start up some sort of fondue or something. Then he came back and continued making our salad without washing his hands. Yeah, he's using utensils to make the salad but he's squeezing the lemon with his bare hands and...well it's not hygienic, ya know? Anyways the salad and the experience of having a nice Caesar made traditionally from scratch infront of you is great and it tasted good but not $50 good. It was a bit heavy on the dressing. Our mains came shortly after we finished the salad. My wifes Lord Nelson special featured Beef Tenderloin Tournedos which were cooked to perfection. Very delicious. My Chicken Supreme was also very tasty. Both came with the exact same sides though my cubed potatoes were slightly undercooked. We were too full to finish our meals so we got the leftovers put away for us. They were placed in cheap flimsy containers more suited to Chinese food restaurants, and we didn't get a bag or anything to put them in. Not very fancy at all. We skipped dessert and got the bill. In my opinion it was quite expensive for what we got. I have been to expensive, fine dining restaurants and steakhouses before and this place just isn't worth the cost. As we were leaving we had to wait awkwardly at the front because we needed our coats and no one was there to get them for us. Eventually the young hostess came over and handed our coats back to us in a big bundle. The poor thing seemed very spaced out and out of her element. Anyways, the wife was pleased so Mission Accomplished but I won't be back, especially at that price, and I don't recommend anyone else go unless they have money to burn. TL;DR, Expensive steaks with meh service.

The staff were very friendly and we shared some laughs. The food was very good. If I was to nit pick the service was a tad slow, but I think that is part of the charm as all the meals were cooked fresh in house (the sauces didn't taste pre-prepared) and everything came out hot. Another minor issue was there was no bread for the tables which we would have enjoyed to sop up our sauces! As a plain dessert guy I would have liked a tartufo but no such luck! Our server was great, but unfortunately, my pasta was undercooked (not al dente). When I pointed it out, the server was apologetic and offered to remake it, I declined as l didn't want to eat alone, so l shared my husband pizza. (which was very good). The real issue began with the bill. We were charged for the uneaten meal, and when we questioned it, the server said he would have to speak to the manager. The owner stormed over to our table. He was defensive, insisting he'd served 8 other portions that night without issues. When we mentioned we were regulars and l told him the pizza was good, he said l know. Then he actually crumpled up the bill in front of us and walked away. He came back with a new bill and told us to "try other restaurants in Hamilton that would suit us if we just wanted to sample food" I was shocked by this response and asked him about customer service. His response was " I'm the owner of the restaurant, I can do what I want". We were upset by the lack of basic customer service. We paid our bill and tipped our server (who did as fine job), but we won't be returning to a place where the owner treats loyal guests with such hostility.
