    NY cheese
    Reh L.

The pizza here was excellent! We tried the NY cheese, and even though you could tell from the look and taste that it had been sitting out for a while, it was still a heck of a slice. The cheese blend was a little saltier but in a good way, and they had a nice herb blend on top which made for a good punch of flavor. Cook on the pizza was nice, and the crust had good crunch. Definitely would come back!

Been visiting Shorty's whenever I'm in the Hamilton area. Great pizza with a cracker-like crust and sesame seeds on top. They have the pepperoni which cups up which is always a plus in my book. Lots of patio seating for the summer in the back. Nice spot to grab a quick bite if you're in the area

Perfect about of heat on these pizzas.

Do 10 Things and Do Them Well. Unexpected 'Bistro Style' Pizza Parlor. Modest menu. Modest setting. 10 creative Pizza types to choose from. Working my way through the menu. Tonight Bacon and Mushroom. Done crispy with Onions. Flavor was sweet, a tiny bit of heat with a very thin well made crust. Service was immediate and neighborly. #Recommend

    Review Highlights - Shorty's Pizza

Theyve also got a handful of dipping sauces available, and we got two garlic dill dips, not too much dill, and paired perfectly with the spicy sausage!

Incredible flavours and a unique style offered at this little pizzeria…read more "Roman" style pizza is served here, which is similar to a my grandma pie or a thinner, crispier Sicilian. You can taste the quality of the ingredients here, and everything prepared has a real home-made feel to it, as if your Italian friend's Nona just took some pies out of the oven for you guys. It's incredibly delicious, and you won't be able to stop eating it. The biggest standout for me here is their sauce, which has such a strong tomato flavour while still being delicate and balanced. It's honestly one of the best sauces I've ever had. I highly recommend trying their margherita, as it's the best way to try their sauce and dough. With so many great pizza shops in Hamilton, Flora definitely stands out, not only by offering a different style of pizza than the rest but also by focusing on fresh, quality ingredients with a real homemade touch. Highly, highly recommend!

Nestled on a side-street off busy James St N as you travel up the mountain, you'll find Flora on the ground floor of a older residential-looking building. The first thing you'll notice walking inside is actually how small this place is - the pizza ovens and prep area take up most of the space. But there's something incredibly charming about that because you have high hopes that if they dedicate that much space to food prep, it's gotta be good. Happy to report that their pizza lives up to the hype! Pizza is baked in a sheet-pan with a semi-thick crust that's soft yet crispy at the edges. Crust is on the thicker side relative to some Italian restaurants and pizza chains, but the composition of the dough makes it work because it has a bite but not too tough/thick where it gives your mouth a workout. I also loved their fresh tomato sauce. It balanced so well with the cheese and toppings, giving the pizza a nice freshness so that it didn't feel as heavy. My only critique was that I wanted more basil on my pizza (I love me some basil!)

I pre-ordered the Chicago Special over the phone at 4:30 pm with a pickup time of 6:30 pm. That should give them more than enough time to cook the pizza. They told me that a deep dish pizza needs 30 minutes to cook. When I went to pick up the pizza, a staff member told me it's almost ready and asked me to pay. A few minutes later, I heard my name being called. She told me that they made a mistake and served my pizza to a table. I could see she was upset about the error. She was so kind and said they would remake another one for me on the house and that I could also keep the pizza that was for the other table. That, to me, was ultimate customer service along with the repeated apologies. The 2 deep dish pizzas were definitely deep, like the ones i tried in Chicago. They were filled with tomato sauce, so if you love your tomatoes, you would be in heaven. I look forward to my next order.

The 1up is their most popular pizza that sells out as soon as a fresh pie comes out. It's an elevated white pizza featuring flavors of truffle, fior de latte, and honey, and it all works SO well without overpowering each other. The crust is genuinely next level, it's so flaky on the outside and perfectly airy on the inside-- not bland or dense & has a bit of a fermented taste (kind of like sourdough/poolish) Reminded me exactly of how I remember Brooklyn NY pizza tasting when I visited. I also tried their pepperoni which was generously topped and not too greasy. The atmosphere of this restaurant is really artsy and unpretentious, they have some old school arcade games at the back and plenty of market-style seating available for small and large groups. Honestly words can't describe how delicious these pizzas are, it's an experience you definitely need to try yourself. I've never written a review so fast during the 3 years I've been on Yelp and I hope that says a lot. 10/10 spot highly recommend.

This place is more for carry out or delivery, but there are 2 tables, enough for 4 people to sit and eat and plenty of chairs for when you're waiting for your fresh pizza. For the 4 of us, we got the 2x three topping pizzas with the 20 wings and garlic bread special (includes one dipping sauce), which came to $30. I don't remember if they were 2 mediums or larges. The pizza was so fresh, and there's something different (good different) about the sauce base compared to other pizza joints, and it went so well with the garlic dip. We got BBQ wings which were amazing. Honestly all 4 of us agreed that it was probably the best wings we've ever had. The sauce they toss the wings in tastes so good and the chicken is done nicely, not over cooked, dry or super tiny like other pizza places. One of our friends was so impressed that non spicy wings could be soo good! The staff were also really nice and they had coin operated toy vending machines which kept us busy while we waited for our food. We're from Toronto, but we'd definitely take the trip just to come back. Would also like to note that there are no washroom facilities here.
