    a family tradition since 1946

I came here with my husband after a long day of hiking Hamilton waterfalls. We were SO hungry and this place truly did not disappoint!!! Of course, we wanted to try their most famous dish (the Chicago style deep dish pizza). We were told it takes 40min to prepare, so we decided to order their Ravioli, and were pleasantly surprised! I really wasn't expecting such a amazing pasta dish from a pizza place! We ordered the spiced meat filled ravioli in their famous homemade meat sauce. Must try! 5/5 For the deep dish pizza, we ordered a small stuffed pizza (deep dish) with bacon and pepperoni. At first, we thought that it would not be enough food, but boy were we wrong... The "small" pizza was actually HUGE! It came with 6 giant slices, each with a thickness of 3-4 regular slices stacked! I was stuffed just by eating a single slice! You can easily share this amongst 4-6 people. The pizza was cooked to perfection with gooey, stringy pull apart cheese, and filled with meat. Absolutely delicious, but in moderation. I personally thought it was a bit too filling to eat more than a single slice (since it felt like eating an entire brick of cheese). Great for sharing though. 4/5.

This is a cute shop. A lot smaller inside then I expected. I got there early right when they opened to avoid the lineup. Staff was super friendly. And seats were comfortable. We ordered the fried ravioli. That was good. I didn't get a picture because we were so hungry I ate it before the camera ate first. And we ordered the combo bread. This was very tasty not to salt just right. We also ordered the fettuccine alfredo, this was probably my favourite..Super creamy and just the right consistency. I added 2 sides of meatballs. Very good. Meatballs had a lot of flavour and add the right amount of salt for the pasta. And last but least we ordered the deep dish small No self respect which was stuffed with LOTS of cheese and lots of meat! It was super cheese and good but a little on the salty side for myself. Overall I rate this place a 5 because I think it was really good and worth the trip.

Mediterranean salad (Greek for most of is), large size great for sharing among 4 people.

When several "best of Hamilton restaurants" all pointed to this modest location, I was a little dubious, but the garlic-heavy sauce on both pizza and pasta is top notch. Stuffed pizza is the real draw, but locals seem to like the traditional and thick crust ones for dine in and take out. Popular place with no reservations can mean a frustrating wait, but ordering your pizza while you wait for your seat is a recommended work-around. Wish the tiny soft drinks at least had refills (and no plastic straw and half ice), but the pizza is so good that I'd overlook these faults. For a hungry group of 4, a small stuffed pizza, large salad and large linguini with the meat sauce was the perfect meal.

OMG! First time having deep dish pizza and I was definitely not disappointed. My party and I arrived at 5pm on a Saturday evening and the line was almost out the door! We were seated at 6pm but was very glad that we were able to order the deep dish pizza in advance, as it normally takes around 30-45 minutes to make anyway. When we sat down at 6pm, the pizza came out shortly afterwards and we were able to order other items on the menu. We opted for a large caesar salad and a large chicken alfredo penne pasta; for dessert, we had the tiramisu. The deep dish pizza was out of this world !! We only opted for pepperoni as a topping but felt that it was enough, as the pizza was so incredibly dense. The amount of cheese in the pizza was no joke... if you're lactose sensitive like I am, be sure to take some digestive enzymes! The caesar salad was fresh, and the tiramisu was delicious as well. The only let down of the evening was the pasta, as we felt that it was way too saucy and salty. Service was surprisingly pleasant, considering the number of diners and people waiting for their tables.

My husband and I tried this place the other night and really enjoyed our food. We were very hungry and ordered the appetizer platter, but should have saved our appetite for the pizza. Our custom stuffed pizza's hot peppers kicked up the spice! Great flavors, nice service. I could do without TVs in my dining experience but for some people it might help pass the wait time. We left with 2 big slices. The toaster oven reheat the next day didn't do it justice - try to eat it while it's fresh! Looking forward to ordering a different pizza next time - yum!

How could I not try a place called Chicago Pizza??! I am very happy I chose this to be one of the few places I went during my trip in Ontario!! The pizza was definitely some of the best I've had, and I have had some good pizza from NYC. The pizza crust was THICK with 3 C's!! The cheese pull was never ending. I enjoyed every bite of that pizza!! On top of that it was only $22 USD. The only thing is that the pizza took 30 mins to cook, which is on the menu(my fault). I wish it was a little bigger, only came with 4 slices. If im back in Ontario, definitely going back there!!!

This place is a glutton's dream. I think that if you were a huge deep dish pizza fan you would love it but for me I found the pizza just okay. The dough is quite nice and I really like the toppings however I found the pizza a bit too heavy handed. Its a super hot Hamilton spot though so be prepared to wait up to an hour or more at peak times to get in. Hot tip: while you wait, order your pizza so you can eat it right away when you get a table. They keep them fresh for you and they take a really long time to make so this will prevent you from getting hangry as you wait at a table for your food.

This place makes a mean deep dish pizza. 1 slice is equal to 3-4 regular slices. They do both take out and eat in.

Nestled on a side-street off busy James St N as you travel up the mountain, you'll find Flora on the ground floor of a older residential-looking building. The first thing you'll notice walking inside is actually how small this place is - the pizza ovens and prep area take up most of the space. But there's something incredibly charming about that because you have high hopes that if they dedicate that much space to food prep, it's gotta be good. Happy to report that their pizza lives up to the hype! Pizza is baked in a sheet-pan with a semi-thick crust that's soft yet crispy at the edges. Crust is on the thicker side relative to some Italian restaurants and pizza chains, but the composition of the dough makes it work because it has a bite but not too tough/thick where it gives your mouth a workout. I also loved their fresh tomato sauce. It balanced so well with the cheese and toppings, giving the pizza a nice freshness so that it didn't feel as heavy. My only critique was that I wanted more basil on my pizza (I love me some basil!)

We ordered the 18" spicy sausage pizza which is their larger size, and it was enough for 4 of us to have 2 slices each. We all collectively agreed that it fed us contently but because of how good it tasted- we could go for another slice or two each! Theyve also got a handful of dipping sauces available, and we got two garlic dill dips, not too much dill, and paired perfectly with the spicy sausage! Walking up to the pizza shop itself, you could smell the wafts of pizza from around the corner. The restaurant inside has a decent amount of tables if you want to dine-in, though most do takeout. Because we were taking it back to campus to eat it, it wasn't as fresh as we'd hoped for but you could still taste how GOOD IT WAS! Will still be one of my top reco's for hammy food! I was honestly reluctant to dine here, since pizza normally is my least-desired cuisine, and, with former awful experiences at the restaurant that occupied this space before - I was so meh. Thank goodness I let them convince me otherwise! We were so lucky to snag the last few slices of what we wanted, since there were several big events nearby bringing thousands of people into the area. Literally, five guests after us were dinied slices! I was surprised how perfect the dough was cooked, and I really loved the spicy honey that coated the slices I purchased. Since Cowabunga was known for their "best slice in the world of 2024" I also had to purchase one of those T-shirts to honour the experience. There is a decent amount of indoor seating, but, in summer one should definitely sit outside. Tables move through rotation quickly since slices are most of the appeal, so you should be able to sit somewhere at any time.

The place itself has a take out and dine in area. It was quite busy during lunch hour. So best to avoid the rush if you can. The pizza itself was made from a sourdough, it didn't taste starchy to me. It was really thin and crispy, almost too well done, as it got really dry and cardboard like. We had the margarita pizza and the cowabunga pizza. They were both okay. The cowabunga pizza was too heavy on the gochujang, it was too over powering. The margarita pizza was good, it had spicy pesto on it. Quite cheesy. We couldn't leave without trying out the pizza slice. The crust was better than whole pizzas we got. But it was not overwhelming. The service was good. Our server was pretty attentive when he could. He even gave us a complimented slice.

For the 4 of us, we got the 2x three topping pizzas with the 20 wings and garlic bread special (includes one dipping sauce), which came to $30. I don't remember if they were 2 mediums or larges. The pizza was so fresh, and there's something different (good different) about the sauce base compared to other pizza joints, and it went so well with the garlic dip. We got BBQ wings which were amazing. Honestly all 4 of us agreed that it was probably the best wings we've ever had. The sauce they toss the wings in tastes so good and the chicken is done nicely, not over cooked, dry or super tiny like other pizza places. One of our friends was so impressed that non spicy wings could be soo good! The staff were also really nice and they had coin operated toy vending machines which kept us busy while we waited for our food. We're from Toronto, but we'd definitely take the trip just to come back. Would also like to note that there are no washroom facilities here.
