Highly recommend a side of the garlic sauce for dipping. Plenty of seating inside, public parking lot across from it and extremely clean washrooms. The first thing you'll notice walking inside is actually how small this place is - the pizza ovens and prep area take up most of the space. But there's something incredibly charming about that because you have high hopes that if they dedicate that much space to food prep, it's gotta be good. Happy to report that their pizza lives up to the hype! Pizza is baked in a sheet-pan with a semi-thick crust that's soft yet crispy at the edges. Crust is on the thicker side relative to some Italian restaurants and pizza chains, but the composition of the dough makes it work because it has a bite but not too tough/thick where it gives your mouth a workout. I also loved their fresh tomato sauce. It balanced so well with the cheese and toppings, giving the pizza a nice freshness so that it didn't feel as heavy. I pre-ordered the Chicago Special over the phone at 4:30 pm with a pickup time of 6:30 pm. That should give them more than enough time to cook the pizza. They told me that a deep dish pizza needs 30 minutes to cook. When I went to pick up the pizza, a staff member told me it's almost ready and asked me to pay. A few minutes later, I heard my name being called. She told me that they made a mistake and served my pizza to a table. I could see she was upset about the error. She was so kind and said they would remake another one for me on the house and that I could also keep the pizza that was for the other table. That, to me, was ultimate customer service along with the repeated apologies. The 2 deep dish pizzas were definitely deep, like the ones i tried in Chicago. They were filled with tomato sauce, so if you love your tomatoes, you would be in heaven. I look forward to my next order.
