    Rigatoni Bolognese and Venetian Pizza
    Gary L.

Came here for dinner with a friend after running errands for the day. Upon arriving I noticed it was packed but luckily right when we entered a table just finished eating so we didn't have to wait for a seat. Decided to get a pizza and a pasta dish to share which was a good decision as I was pretty full by the time I was done. It was nice that they split the pasta into two bowls for each of us prior to serving as well. We got the Rigatoni Bolognese and Venetian Pizza, both were super delicious and the garlic bread on the side was super yum. Overall a great staple in the Westdale area that I love going to! Although didn't have room for dessert, I've had it before and it was also super delicious! Will definitely return and would recommend this place to anyone who love Italian pasta or pizza!

    La Diavola pizza - spicy!
    Chris J.

We tried La Diavola and Venetian pizzas. These are thin crust pizzas baked in a wood fired oven. They were alright. La Diavola pizza was quite spicy from some spicy oil. I liked Venetian pizza more. I found a short black hair that looked like someone's mustache. That was gross. The service was friendly.

Attended this restaurant with 6 people in our party. Seating was a bit of an issue due to the quaint size of this bistro. It's really ideal for couples. Wait staff were friendly and helpful when suggesting entrees. It was really busy with every table seated so there was a bit of a long wait for our meal to be prepared but this was expected under the circumstances. Also, this was a good thing as it showed care and freshness in their preparation. Their pizza's were excellent with thin, crisp, then pleasantly chewy crust and creative combinations of fresh toppings. The wood burning oven gave the entire establishment a wonderful aroma without being too smokey. The member of our party who had the "gluten free" penne raved about it. Overall a great experience, fresh, delicious food, friendly staff and good atmosphere. Having been a long time fan of the original Express in Stoney Creek, I believe that this is the better location for a nice "casual or romantic"couples lunch/dinner. Any groups larger than 4 should make the drive to Stoney Creek to enjoy the same quality meal in a physically larger location.

    Excellent calamari appetizer!

We eat at a lot of Italian restaurants, but this one stands out. It feels like everything is homemade and prepared with genuine love. All four of us ordered the chicken parmigiana, each with a different pasta pairing. My wife chose gnocchi with red sauce, while I went for penne with the lemon vodka sauce. That lemon vodka sauce was unbelievably rich and creamy. I'm still talking about it! I almost ordered some to go, but honestly, I doubt it would have made it home without me picking at it on the way home. This place is truly a hidden gem, a cozy hole-in-the-wall worth discovering. The waitstaff was warm, friendly, and attentive, and there's plenty of parking right outside. We can't wait to come back and explore more of the menu. A definite 10/10 !

Last night I got my usual - leek, prosciutto, pistachios with grilled chicken and cheese tortellini yum! The bruschetta is my favorite also - the small size is very big. It results in a beautiful textured crunch all around with a soft inside in the homefries. Very nicely seasoned as well. The brunch cocktails were light and yummy - I myself like more spirit forward complex cocktails and I was not disappointed. Had brunch with a small group of girlfriends here Caro was well accommodated for the group. We had reservations at 10:30 am but it didn't seem like we needed them. It did start getting busy closer to lunch. The atmosphere/attire is very casual and laid back while having a top quality brunch. There's a small paid parking lot a street over from the restaurant.

It was definitely catering to girls night out. We started with the crispy polenta fries - these were the clear winner of the night. It came with a marinara and aioli sauce, and was perfectly crispy, salty, and flavorful. I wish there was a bigger version of this because it could have easily been a meal substitute. The Arugula salad was also well-balanced and bright - a food combination of sweet, salty, peppery, and crunchy. We got the potato Bianco pizza - would not recommend this. It was very bland and burnt on the bottom. I wish we had tried a different pizza because they looked good! We also had the Short Rib Rigatoni. The flavors of this pasta were stellar! I would highly recommend getting this - the pasta was cooked perfectly, the sauce was very flavorful, and there was a generous serving of short rib. We lastly finished off with the Tiramisu, which was tasty, but not a traditional "tiramisu" flavor. I'd come back again to try some of their other pizzas and pastas. Drinks were pretty good, too!

It is not a big restaurant but the decor is very nice. There was 5 of us there and 4 of us ordered the osso bucco which is braised veal shank on a bed of risotto. The risotto was very soft, maybe a little overcooked but I still enjoyed it. The veal was fell off the bone nicely and was very tender and the marrow was yummy. The portion was generous and I was full after but of course I had to get the tiramisu! The tiramisu was not as light and fluffy as I expected but the flavour was well balanced. The amount of espresso and mescarpone was perfect. The service was not great. The server offered parmesan and pepper on my dish and neglected to offer it to anyone else in my party, disappeared and was nowhere to be found. I would come back here but not in a large group.
