The food is excellent and probably one of the best priced better restaurants to dine at in Burlington ($$) Parking is easy - street parking right outside their front door on Pine Street it's also free after 6:00p.m. - metered parking in effect for lunch. If it' happens to be full, there is a very large municipal parking lot less than a block away on Elizabeth Street. Paradiso is located in Village Square but faces the street the only place to the west of it that separates it from the Municipal Parking is the nice little boutique style LCBO on the corner of Elizabeth and Pine Streets. We have been going here for many years I'm going to say it's been 20 years or very close maybe more for the ever changing menu. The Chef changes it by the seasons so you are always in for a delicious surprise and selections. The only minus I'd say is their wine list by the bottle it is seriously overpriced. The least expensive bottle of Cab-is $55 ( $14.95 @ The LCBO). Although it hasn't kept us away. My husband ordered it regardless he enjoys a bottle of wine with his dinner. I don't drink so I'm a Perrier or similar gal. Our dinners were outstanding and well priced. They start you off with the most delicious yellow bread it reminded me of cornbread but no corn it's thick like cake cut in wide 1" strips and just as high. It's served with a balsamic vinaigrette for dipping. I could keep eating that . I must ask what type it is on our next visit My husband had the Seafood Pasta which Spaghettini Pescatore consisting of Spaghettini with a white wine cream sauce, shrimp (3 large) , calamari and Atlantic salmon. Not a lot of seafood however only $32 so I'm not complaining. I had the Pickled Beet Salad- basil whipped feta, mixed greens, pickled beets, spice toasted almond crumble with a balsamic vinaigrette $16 and I added a marinated chicken skewer $9 extra. Other choices were garlic shrimp, oven baked salmon ,, grilled sirloin and seared ahi tuna - all $9 to $16 (salmon). All very well priced . For dessert I had the Aftgiuto $9 - also delicious - a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream with a side of espresso to pour over it so yummy! My husband's was huge- Salted Pecan Caramel Tart $14 ( more like a pie than a tart,I had to take pictures. Topped with French Vanilla Ice Cream, warm caramel sauce. I tried it, absolutely amazing . We had a great table for two at the very back of the restaurant it was quiet and quaint. Also extremely close to the restrooms which is always handy. We highly recommend Paradiso for lunch or dinner but remember reservations are a must. Keep in mind that the kitchen closes at 9:00p.m.. They won't kick you out but reserve accordingly. We were there two weeks ago Saturday and were shocked that it was completely full right after Christmas in early January and in this economy but as I mentioned earlier it is really affordable. I was also shocked that we had 6:30 reservations and it was 9:00 when we were leaving after our lovely leisurely dinner. We will be back very soon. Below is my husband with his amazing salted caramel pecan tart topped with French vanilla ice cream and warm caramel sauce. The picture I took of it looking down on it you can see what I mean how it is more of a pie than a tart, it's huge. I had a bite of it and even just one bite is so satisfying and beyond delicious it convinces you it's worth every penny . I'd love to order it however it is far too large for me. We are really into salted caramel desserts but believe me when I say "this the very best salted caramel anything that we ever had, it dances on your tastebuds and I truly mean that". We've been to the location in Oakville often, therefore decided to try out Burlington instead Much larger location, both indoor and the patio but without compromising the intimacy that I've come to associate with Paradiso The Phyllo Wrapped Baked Brie was outstanding... oozing with Brie and topped with a delectable spiced onion and carrot jam Followed this with the Blackened Salad Noçoise with sirloin steak and the Roasted Trout Picata Both were incredibly flavourful and a decent enough portion size If there is one suggestion i have, it is this ...grill the trout just a little bit longer so that the skin is crispy rather than soft and slimy. The crunch will hugely complement the natural flavour of the trout I've got to come clean and let you know that my claim to is that I'm a Crème Brûlée connoisseur... and I'm forever grateful to this exquisite dessert (spot the clear bias surfacing here?) for helping me finally find my niche specially given the fact that there are way too many wine, beer and cheese snobs... Having said this, the Paradiso Crème Brûlée Trio was awesome in terms of visual appeal, flavour and texture... We visited during the heat wave but still opted to eat outside. This was a perfect excuse for me to order a white peach sangria and I have no regrets. My parents and I ordered the grilled calamari, the beet salad, duck confit, daily special salmon, and Moroccan chicken. Everything was delicious and plated smartly. The only complaints we had were that the table was very sticky (probably from the heat) and the duck was too salty, given the feta on top plus the sauce and nothing to eat it with. Had a special supper tonight for Father's Day. Ordered the crab cakes, appetizer plate, garlic shrimp, moroccan chicken and salmon. The appetizers were small and very simple. The crab cakes were decent but came with a very good mixed greens salad with a nice dressing. The shrimps were very good and had some yellow rice. The chicken breast was small and very minimal in food but good. The salmon was good with a very unusual sauce and veggies with it. The cheesecake and the flourless chocolate torte were decent but not too special. The atmosphere made it very difficult to talk because the music was kinda loud. The interior looked nice though. Went with the family here for a Easter/94th birthday and I was thrilled to hear my father in law had used yelp to find Paradiso. Great reviews for an under reviewed area boasting a near perfect rating over 60 reviews. Impressive for any area of the 905, let alone Burlington! We got a nice spot toward the back for our group of 7 right next to their gorgeous private dining room (seriously amazing... if you have a special event check it out). I started with a dirty martini and it was prepared perfectly and served extra cold. Went down way too easy. My wife and I shared the arancini appetizer which was less of a rice ball and more of a smushed rice pattie. Flavours were good but I did find there to be a bit too much sauce on the plate. For my main I went with the braised beef rib served with mashed potatoes and season veg. Incredible. The beef was so tender the bones came out squeaky clean. The au jus at the bottom of the plate was so flavourful I was spooning it over my potatoes and veg like I was trying to put out a fire. The even went the extra mile for my daughter and made a special tomato sauce penne pasta which she cleared with no issues. Overall a great meat, a classy venue and great service. Would return. I was excited for patio weather and to try out new places since I've been pretty cooped up since the last lockdown. The service we received was terrible. The waiter although attentive (came by to check on us) was very disengaging and dismissive. It was a very awkward experience from beginning to end. Took a day trip to Burlington to do a little shopping and walking along the lake. My wife had been to Paradiso before, but it was my first visit. Went for lunch. Got seated right away (with reservations). Lunch was fantastic. They serve very good bread with herb olive oil. We had the grilled calamari salad with arugula that was fantastic. I had the sausage rigatoni and my wife had the margherita pizza. Both were excellent. The nicest part of the visit was Sasha. She's an outstanding server - she actually had been the server for my wife on her previous visit and was most of the reason my wife wanted to go back. What a gem! We had a Father's Day dinner here and randomly found the place via yelp but what an amazing find! I ordered the crab cake appetizer and it was one the BEST crab cakes I've ever had and the sauce was magnificent! My husband ordered the cod and he said it was done very well. The dessert (trio of creme brûlée) was sooooo yummy (esp chocolate!!!) Drinks were good and Nadine and other wait staff provided great service. The restaurant is also really cute and it was fun watching the chefs practice their craft. Lastly the complimentary focaccia with oil is so yummy! A couple of suggestions: hubby didn't love the white beans that accompanied the cod (they were just OK) and he also said the horseradish was very subtle. While we appreciated a kids menu (thank you - so many places don't do this) not sure how many options were truly kid (toddler) friendly... for example, the meatballs had chorizo in them (two complaints here - that automatically makes them spicy and that means those who don't eat pork can't ever enjoy meatballs which seem like a staple). I had a very average experience at Paradiso. The actual restaurant itself has a quirky layout (which I like), and we settled on sitting in the small bar area. The beer and wine list is quite limited, often only having a few choice options among a litany of underwhelming offerings. However, it was the food that really stuck out as "mezza mezza" at best. We ordered 3 apps and 3 entrees, all of which were really lackadaisically prepared and executed. The best of the bunch was the burger, which did have a nice blend, including tasty chorizo. I ordered 2 soups. 1 white bean and escarole and 1 minestrone. The minestrone was ok just a bit peppery and I do like spicy but it was a bit much. The white bean and escarole was kind of thick and merky probably from the beans and it really had not much of a taste and the soup was look warm. The pizza is good. I usually get the thin crust squash and the marinara slice but the soups quite frankly, I was kind of disappointed. Also the person who answered the phone was a bit abrupt. Probably one of the owners. Cmon guys the voices answering the phones says a lot to the customers calling in. I had a wonderful experience at Paradiso. I have to make note that it was for a private party, a baby shower. On a Sunday early afternoon we were greeted at the door by a very friendly staff member. She showed up to the private room that was beautiful. Lots of windows that let the sun shine in. The decor was understated and perfect. There was a menu at each place setting outlining the menu choices. I started with a Caesar salad. The dressing was delicious, probably one of my most favourite restaurant Caesar dressings. For the main course I had the crab ravioli. Oh my goodness, it was to die for. The sauce is rich and creamy and they certainly did not skimp on the portion of crab. I would get this dish again and again. My only complaint is I felt the portion was a little small, but nevertheless, delicious. Tea and coffee was served after the meal. The hosts of the baby shower provided dessert. I have to say, the staff were amazing. People were switching chairs and working the room making it very difficult for the servers to take orders and remember who was sitting where. They took it all in stride though and didn't let it stress them out. They were attentive, quick to clear the tables after everyone was done and attentive to people's needs. First of all, I didn't even know this restaurant existed until I ran past it and thought to myself "I wonder if this is owned by the same people who own Paradiso in Oakville?" Apparently, yes! It is tucked away on a side street and sort of in the Village Square. Of course, I have only lived in Burlington for 3-months so what do I really know anyway. Anyway, I needed a good "date night" restaurant and this one seemed to fit the bill based upon the reviews. I can honestly say I was not disappointed - hence the 5-stars. For those of you with a short attention span, go ahead and make the reservation now. It's absolutely worth it. For those of you who enjoy details before making a final decision - go ahead and keep reading... The atmosphere is lovely and cozy, and I would definitely recommend a booth if you are having a romantic dinner. Luckily, we arrived on "wine Wednesday" (woohoo!) so $50 and below bottles were $5 off and $51 and up - $10 off. It goes without saying that we ordered a delicious bottle of wine - it was red and Italian (that's as much as I remember - Oh, it was $70 before the discount). Apps were the most delicious grilled calamari (yep, grilled not fried and SO good) along with mussels in a tomato broth. We fought over the last piece of calamari, and had to hold ourselves back from picking up the now void-of-mussels pot and pouring the remaining broth down our necks. Instead we "accidentally" dropped the remaining chargrilled bread into the broth and spooned out the soggy tomatoey goodness. The main course consisted of slow-cooked beef gnocchi and crab ravioli. HEAVEN! The beef was perfectly tender, delicious and there was tons of it. The crab had a delicious and spicy tomato / cream sauce which didn't overpower the crab flavour. Clearly, our eyes were bigger than our bellies, so the majority of the main courses ended up in take-away boxes (and they were just as delicious the next day!) The portion sizes are definitely generous. Our server was extremely attentive - perhaps somewhat overly attentive (as in, you can see we are having a quiet conversation and still enjoying our food so don't come over and ask if everything is ok for the second time during our main course). However, he had a young trainee shadowing his every move, so I will let him off for his over zealousness. He clearly wanted to impress the young trainee. Yes, the restaurant is a little pricier, but I believe that you get what you pay for and we got exceptional value for money because everything was delicious. Our out of town relatives chose this place because of great reviews online and I have to say those reviews are pretty accurate. The server was a champ and deserves an award for dealing with our large party. She was SO accommodating of my husband's aunt who has a garlic allergy. She went back and forth to the kitchen to make sure everything our aunt ordered was fine to eat for her. I'm so sorry I forgot your name, I wanted to give you a personal shout out. The food was delicious and interesting. I definitely enjoyed my Crab Ravioli and got a taste of the to-die-for Braised Beef Gnocchi. While the desserts were enjoyable, I wish they had more Italian and Mediterranean options. My pecan pie was still unbelievable delicious and huge. Pleasant surprise. Close to the Burlington waterfront. Copper topped tables, warm candle lit environment. We ate here for dinner. Ordered a couple of pasta dishes. 12 Hour Braised Wild Boar Gnocchi and Hickory Smoked Chicken Agnolotti. The gnocchi was fantastic, a creamy sauce and melt in your mouth taste the toasted pecorino crust on top adds a nice texture. 9/10 The agnolotti dish on the other hand, we felt had too many vegetables flavours crowding (asparagus, squash, red pepper, grape tomatoes, spinach, lemon parsley cream). I didn't know what to make of it, kind of a mish mash of sorts. The pasta didn't taste too fresh either, kind of like a frozen variety. 6/10 Service was good and our waitress was knowledgeable on the offerings. Always a good sign. We'll be sure to stop in at Paradiso for the gnocchi. read more

Went here with a group of friends for Taste of Burlington recently. We all started with the spiced butternut squash salad with baby arugula and goat cheese because it sounded so good, but I was disappointed by it. The butternut squash didn't seem fully cooked, so it wasn't sweet like it gets when it's roasted. I had the roasted vegetable spanikopita for my main and it was fantastic. The ricotta and feta mixture inside was great, and the balsamic and chili aioli on the plate were nice flavour compliments. The chocolate torte for dessert was good, but I felt like it was missing the wow factor. For a large group our waitress was phenomenal, the service was very efficient and no one ever felt like they were waiting on attention from the server. Each individual got a different main course, which was very neat, a diverse selection of meals and everyone was satisfied...Which is a rarity. We ordered appetizers, to mains, to desserts. From start to finish the meals were delicious and beautifully prepared. They even gave us dessert on the house which was lovely and thoughtful. The atmosphere was ambient, and surprisingly very loud but it was a full house and a Saturday to be fair. Went for Valentine's Day and had an awesome experience. We had a reservation but did have to wait a minute for our table still, on Valentine's Day I totally expected worse. They took our coats which was nice not to have the bulk at the table. Food-It is an absolute requirement that you get the baked Brie. It was so good we contemplated ordering a second. Order one per person you won't want to share it! Our entrees were lovely too I got the steak and it was cooked perfectly and the mash under was fantastic! Over all excellent experience! This was a great experience! Myself and my significant other can about 15 minutes early for our reserved table with no problem or wait what so ever. There was a surprise menu selection (we looked at the menu online prior to booking :) ) of philo baked brie that we couldn't resist and it was the highlight of the meal, at least in my opinion ;). For the entree I received the angus steak with the gorganzola and chirizo mash with green bean. Absolutely fabulous and not over portioned.
