Our waitress was lovely, I believe her name was Tina. Supper attentive and incredibly friendly. My pasta was also delicious, it had a large amount of vegetables in it which I thoroughly enjoy. Also had the passion fruit sangria and would highly recommend that

The first time I came here was with my husband for a business meeting with a colleague. We decided to order a few plates of appetizers and share them, which turned out to be a great choice. The service was excellent and attentive. I loved the ambiance, which was classy and sophisticated with an older crowd. The prices were reasonable for the quality and presentation of the food. I will definitely be coming back to try out some other dishes.

Ordered from here twice during COVID, and it's a great Italian place for when you're looking for a more upscale meal (ironically, takeout kind of kills the vibe). The first time, we got a BUNCH of food. Started off with the antipasto misto and grilled calamari, then shared the lobster ravioli, linguine pescatore, cioppino, and the prosciutto, arugula e parmigiano pizza. The second time, I got the cioppino (I loved it the first time) while he ordered the osso buco. Antipasto misto This cheese and charcuterie board was salty!! I loved the olives and prosciutto - the other meats were okay. My family wasn't a fan, but we don't often have these boards. Overall, a good snacking appetizer - but we simply had too much food! Grilled calamari This was delicious! The calamari had a great crisp on the edges, and came perfectly, simply seasoned. I had... five pieces? Definitely hogged this dish! Would order again. It came on presented on a few leaves of greens, some tomatoes, etc. The baby greens soaked up the olive oil, which imparted flavour too. Lobster ravioli This was a super creamy dish, very rich and indulgent. There were bits of lobster both within the ravioli and in the sauce. While good, it wasn't my favourite... though my sister seemed to really enjoy it! Linguine pescatore I was pleasantly surprised at how much seafood (and the variety) came with this plate of linguine. This made the $28 price tag somewhat worth it. There were big, meaty scallops, decent-sized shrimp, lots of mussels, and baby clams. The spaghetti was very lightly seasoned, allowing you to truly taste the seafood. Cioppino This was my favourite dish! Came with a massive lobster (though both times the lobster was dry - can't blame them), chunks of fish, mussels, scallops, and shrimp. I loved the flavour of the fennel in the buttery tomato soup. It also came with two pieces of grilled focaccia (which honestly resembled more like garlic bread) to sop up the soup. I could get this again and again, particularly as the weather turns colder. Osso buco To be honest, out of all the menu items, I found this the most disappointing. The veal shank was indeed fall-off-the-bone tender, but I found it underseasoned and not really flavourful. The mashed potatoes were creamy, but again, the daily vegetables (ours were pea bits and some slightly bitter squash) were lacking. Meh. Would not get again Prosciutto, arugula e parmigiano pizza This pizza was BOMB. It had a lot of cheese, but the few leaves of arugula on the top added some pizzaz and seemed to make the dish healthier. I'm a sucker for salty food (... also sweet, maybe just a sucker for all food) and this pizza hit the spot. It was also one of the better pizzas I've had ever! Trattoria Timone is a fantastic spot for Italian food. Can't wait to try this place and sit to enjoy the ambiance once COVID is over!

Easy 5 star. I was craving seafood and this place HIT. I think every animal in the ocean was in front of me and it was fresh, abundant, and cooked to perfection. Good service and ambiance, not too stuffy, it was lively and vibrant!

Good place next to a cineplex which allows one to combine an evening out well. Very busy place however the service was excellent and efficient. The dessert menu has enough options and great quality.

We wanted a quick dinner before our 6:30 movie. We arrived at 5:30 and they ensured they would get us out on time. No bread was offered to as...assuming because we were in a rush and I am gf?? Regardless, they should have offered. Hubby had bruschetta followed by spaghetti bolognese. He asked for spicy oil which they had readily available. He LOVED his meal. It was simple but delicious and comforting. I asked for a gf veg pasta. Their only gf pasta is a penne so I got pasta primavera with lots of veggies, a tomato sauce and no cheese. I also sprinkled some chili oil on top and it was very tasty. They renovated the interior since our last visit about 3 years ago. It is very open and quite pretty on the inside.

Great atmosphere, service and food. They had a nice starry ceiling which looked so magical. I got the lobster ravioli which was amazing. The bruschetta was great and everyone else enjoyed their meal as well. My only complaint about ravioli anywhere I go, is, you never get enough. I don't live in Oakville but if I did, I wouldn't hesitate to come back here.

This seafood paparedelle was off the chain. Usually I don't like cream sauces but it wasn't too rich. Just the right amount of rich. Lots of great seafood and the zucchini and butternut squash are a great touch. Highly suggest two spoons of the parm though. Mmmm the fat that is needed that is the only reason it loses a point. Service was great. That buffalo mozzarella was mind blowing and the calamari was well cooked. I'd go back for sure. Some cute cocktails on the menu too but I didn't try any

One side is for takeout but patrons are sitting there to dine in and the other side is for dine in, but the employees also do take out. Confusing YES. So I arrived in blindly following a line. I eventually tapped the person behind me, is this the line to get a table. He says no it's the line to order... okay. About 20min in the line I finally get the deal what everyone is doing, they order their seafood order at the front where the precious alive seafood is stored- it's like a pick what you eat counter. So I order their sangarita with a salad and yellow rice and a calamari with no sides (you save like $4 for just skipping that). After ordering she asked if I had a table?? I said no, then she comes out with seven yellow sticky notes and says there are 6 parties waiting for a table. I asked how long? Maybe 40min. She also advises me that i can put myself on the list for a table and she can hold my order up to 45min- they won't start cooking until you have a table. So I asked how long for takeout, she says 20min. Well I did my math, I waited 20min in line, and 20min for food that is not partially cooked so 40min, I can live with that. Watched the server rip the slip, and just fyi the fish was charged at $35/kg costing $60 and the calamari at 1lb was $22. She asked me to wait on the side, saw her put the slip with the raw fish and placed it ON THE FLOOR behind the counter. As I waited on the side I can see quite a number of orders piled in Rubbermaid containers on the floor. Behind the counter I can see the coats of the employees piled up next to what looks like to be the washed cutlery for table service and the employees use the same yellow rag to wipe every cutlery. I also saw employees clear the tables and return to prepare more cutlery- did they wash their hand in the kitchen??? I was then prompt to pay on their pay unit. It prompted me tip. SKIP tip for takeout. Then she tells me it's 2% charge if I pay credit card no charge for debit. So I pay debit. I waited patiently, I stood near the washroom and overheard how a male customer found a $100 bill in the washroom and handed it to the restaurant- they didn't even ask around if anyone dropped it. Then when I had waited 30min (10min past the estimated time, I asked for an update ). They assured me 10 more minutes. Then after 10min I asked again, they said 1min. And then they came out with my take out. The gave me a complimentary hummus for the slow service, but I don't think it made up for the undersized sides they served me. Just look at my pic and look at the website photo. Overall , if you have 2-3hours this is your place. THIS PLACE WAS ABSOLUTELY CHAOS! I'm questioning food stored on the floor even though it's in a Rubbermaid and then that bin placed back on the scale, touched by the gloved hands and potentially cross contaminating food. During the whole time I didn't see anyone clean or mop the floor- what if people are trekking sidewalk salt in the winter. I am really concerned. Eat dangerously here if you want. I do say the food was seasoned well but won't be returning.

It was decorated beautifully, with chic artwork and beautiful music playing on the speaker. We had made reservations in advance however, we then realized that reservations weren't necessary, as the restaurant only had guests at 2-3 tables at that time. We were greeted by a server, whom then brought us to the table that was reserved for us. Upon first being seated, we noticed that this particular server wasn't too friendly; she would complete her duties as required however, she seemed bothered, and didn't seem to be enthused to be serving us. Nonetheless, after placing our orders, we then waited patiently for the food to arrive. We had first settled on the calamari fritti, which were, too overcooked. They were much more crunchier than they should have been, tasting only somewhat more appetizing when dipped in the accompanying sauce. For our main dishes, I had settled on the veal masala with a mushroom sauce, with a side of vegetables and one potato (which I found a bit odd). The veal was tender, however, there was hardly any of it, along with the potatoes, which consisted of, only one potato. The vegetables were plentiful though, which was what filled me up. My mother had settled on the chicken, which one again, had one potato, and too much cream sauce. The pasta that my daughter ordered had a lot of meat in the sauce however, the meat was salty, and the pasta didn't have enough salt on it. Considering the price that we had paid, we were expecting a better array of food alas, we were disappointed. We even asked if complimentary bread was given, with the waitress looking confused. Overall, this restaurant had a great vibe to it however, we didn't find the server to be inviting, along with the food, which wasn't too appetizing. We wouldn't come back to this restaurant, and would reconsider our options for the next time.

In…read morefact, I was only here as we did a search for Italian when I was in the area and saw that it had fairly strong reviews. It's not really a trendy place, with the decor and the menu that could easy fit into 2005 seamlessly - but that's not a bad thing. When we came, they had an anniversary special for $39 which came with an appetizer, a main and a dessert. Both my wife and I opted for it. For appetizers, we chose: a beet salad and a crab cake. For entrees, my wife went with arctic char with roasted potato and veggies. I went with butternut squash ravioli. And for dessert we both got creme brulee. The quality of the ingredients and the food preparation really stood out. My wife absolutely loved her fish and said it was the best she's had in awhile. The sauce from my ravioli was so good that I took the remainder home. We were very happy with the service throughout. It all comes down to execution. If you were to read the menu, it looks pleasant enough, but it might not jump out you either. But I can say that if they're consistent, you will really enjoy your meal and probably have your expectations exceeded.

They were quite busy with takeout orders which I took as a good sign. We ordered the Beef Sirloin Noodles level spicy and numb(4/5), Breaded Shrimp (5/5) Seafood Fried Rice (4/5) and Lamb Skewers (4/5). Beef Sirloin Noodles were delicious. The broth itself was not overly salty compared to other places we've been to. I enjoyed the addition of peanuts to this dish for that extra crunchy texture and nutty taste. The noodles were cooked perfectly. They were bouncy and chewy. The beef itself was good. Some were a tad bit chewy. I wish there was more bok choy. We'd also opt for extra spicy and extra numb next time. Breaded Shrimp was enjoyable. You can't go wrong with this dish. It was crispy, and the batter to shrimp ratio was decent. Seafood Fried Rice was good as well. Again, we liked how it wasn't overly salty. We were able to sense the taste of the seafood. I wish they added more scallops since we only got two pieces in the whole dish. Lamb Skewers were satisfying flavour-wise. We really liked the seasoning on them. It was on the chewier side but it was manageable. We'd like to try their other skewer options next time. Overall, such a good spot for affordable and delicious food. I'm glad my family recommended this place. I'd like to point out that a customer was being problematically entitled and rude yet the female server stayed professional. I thought she handled the situation quite calmly which I wanna commend her for. P.S. The restaurant has a sign on their door saying not to bring pets inside. Service & Atmosphere: Five Stars The service here was truly exceptional... super quick, genuinely friendly, and so very kind. The interior is decorated well with a fun, slightly nautical vibe, but my absolute favorite feature was the artistic touch on the way to the restroom. It's those little details that really elevate the atmosphere! The Captain's Boil: Good, but Different Now, to the food. Full disclosure: I lived in Georgia for 12 years, and nothing is ever going to beat a seasoned, authentic Florida crab boil in my mind. However, this boil is pretty darn good in its own right. I went with the Non-Spicy Captain Boil (which is a mixed seafood option) and loaded it up with lobster, potatoes, and an egg. The seasoning was flavorful and well-balanced, though it leaned a little less toward the heavy Cajun spice blend I'm used to. It delivered a scrumptiously satisfying seafood experience. Everything was cooked perfectly the 1.5lb lobster was tender, and the potatoes soaked up the sauce so very nicely. I would definitely go back the next time I'm craving a seafood boil.

Luckily our booth was against a wall with space to put the dishes that didn't fit on the table. Dinner service was very busy as it was difficult to flag down a server to order. Once we ordered, the meats came out very fast. I think the cuts offered at Shinta are high quality for an AYCE restaurant. Currently Shinta offers an order of free A5 wagyu with your dinner. Everyone really enjoyed the Wagyu, even my toddler! The sushi that they offer was also good. I opted to eat less sushi to fill up on the meat. Penne a la vodka references the noodle and sauce type, if you're going to embellish it with pork it's a very good idea to indicate this in the menu. Very not cool. Aside from being extraordinarily upset about this, it actually wasn't any good. The pasta was overcooked, way too soft. The chicken parm was tough. The pizza had no sauce and was made with a garbage store bought crust. Cherry tomatoes just dropped on top, didn't even seem cooked, never mind blistered. Could've made this in an Easy Bake Oven, was so cold. Have no idea how this place stays un business. Food was worse than something from a frozen food aisle, same pizza crust.
