Came here for lunch and the food was delicious. I got the osso bucco with risotto and it was just like I had it in Milan - the meat wastender and flavourful and paired well with the creamy risotto. I also tried the lobster ravioli and it was packed with lobster flavour, so I would only recommend that it you really enjoy lobster. I also got to try some of the desserts which were a perfect way to end the meal. The favourites were definitely the cheesecake, tiramisu, and pistachio ice cream. The first time I came here was with my husband for a business meeting with a colleague. We decided to order a few plates of appetizers and share them, which turned out to be a great choice. The service was excellent and attentive. I loved the ambiance, which was classy and sophisticated with an older crowd. The prices were reasonable for the quality and presentation of the food. Consistent amazing food and service. First off, it's so easy to get a reservation online. The check in during the pandemic was quick. Beautiful interiors with blue and brown theme depicting the sea and land. Nautical decor all around with a starlight sky ceiling. Beautiful decor. Food is great and consistent. Flavours meld together seamlessly. Service is superb with several attendants, you never have to wait and they will come fill your water glass automatically. One thing I would improve though is to have more spacious seating area as the seating areas are very squished together. read more

My friends and I had a horrible experience at this restaurant. If I can give 0 starts I would. We made a reservation and were not told there was a time limit. After 2.5 hours we were very aggressively kicked out not having finished our dinner or wine that we ordered by the general manager Kasia. We were not even given a chance to order dessert or coffee and were told to pay the bill and wait by the door for the rest of the party who had gone to the washroom. I also had a hair in my $30 pasta that was very average taste. It consisted of 4 shrimp and some spaghetti seasoned with olive oil. Very tasteless. We had to wait for a new plate which also kept us there longer but we also were not planning to eat and rush out. Two out of the three bottles of wine that were on the menu were not available. This restaurant does not meet the fine dining criteria. The service was ok however the general manager has very poor managerial skills and is very aggressive and rude to guests. She told my friend with a cane to wait outside by the door for the rest of us while holding our belongings so she can seat the next guests. It felt like we were at a food court setting eat and go. I then tried to contact the manager and the best they could offer is to refund me for the pasta with hair in it which I should have not even been charged for. Ordered from here twice during COVID, and it's a great Italian place for when you're looking for a more upscale meal (ironically, takeout kind of kills the vibe). The first time, we got a BUNCH of food. Started off with the antipasto misto and grilled calamari, then shared the lobster ravioli, linguine pescatore, cioppino, and the prosciutto, arugula e parmigiano pizza. The second time, I got the cioppino (I loved it the first time) while he ordered the osso buco. Antipasto misto This cheese and charcuterie board was salty!! I loved the olives and prosciutto - the other meats were okay. My family wasn't a fan, but we don't often have these boards. Overall, a good snacking appetizer - but we simply had too much food! Grilled calamari This was delicious! The calamari had a great crisp on the edges, and came perfectly, simply seasoned. I had... five pieces? Definitely hogged this dish! Would order again. It came on presented on a few leaves of greens, some tomatoes, etc. The baby greens soaked up the olive oil, which imparted flavour too. Lobster ravioli This was a super creamy dish, very rich and indulgent. There were bits of lobster both within the ravioli and in the sauce. While good, it wasn't my favourite... though my sister seemed to really enjoy it! Linguine pescatore I was pleasantly surprised at how much seafood (and the variety) came with this plate of linguine. This made the $28 price tag somewhat worth it. There were big, meaty scallops, decent-sized shrimp, lots of mussels, and baby clams. The spaghetti was very lightly seasoned, allowing you to truly taste the seafood. Cioppino This was my favourite dish! Came with a massive lobster (though both times the lobster was dry - can't blame them), chunks of fish, mussels, scallops, and shrimp. I loved the flavour of the fennel in the buttery tomato soup. It also came with two pieces of grilled focaccia (which honestly resembled more like garlic bread) to sop up the soup. I could get this again and again, particularly as the weather turns colder. Osso buco To be honest, out of all the menu items, I found this the most disappointing. The veal shank was indeed fall-off-the-bone tender, but I found it underseasoned and not really flavourful. The mashed potatoes were creamy, but again, the daily vegetables (ours were pea bits and some slightly bitter squash) were lacking. Meh. Would not get again Prosciutto, arugula e parmigiano pizza This pizza was BOMB. It had a lot of cheese, but the few leaves of arugula on the top added some pizzaz and seemed to make the dish healthier. I'm a sucker for salty food (... also sweet, maybe just a sucker for all food) and this pizza hit the spot. It was also one of the better pizzas I've had ever! Trattoria Timone is a fantastic spot for Italian food. Can't wait to try this place and sit to enjoy the ambiance once COVID is over! read more

We came to Trattoria to celebrate a milestone birthday with a large group. We had an incredible experience. The food was delicious and fresh. The service was impeccable. I do want to start with the con, which is the service I received nearing the end of my meal. Food was overall delightful which was a shame when service is not up to standard and unfortunately make me hesitate to go back. Here's the breakdown: Appetizers - 3.5/5 Pasta - 4/5 Dessert - 2/5 Venue - 3.5/5, lit well, chic spacious, chairs can be better Service - 2.5-3/5 SERVICE: Inconsistent. Our server was nice but average at most. No particular comment on him. But it was the end of service when we had our dessert. I mentioned to the waitress that there was mold but she replied with "i dont think that would be possible". I then showed her the raspberries and she was still unsure of what to do, and said "what do you want? did you want me to just give you another one or would you want me to take it off the bill?" in a tone that was bitter and quite abrupt. She did not sound apologetic and it was quite inappropriate in my opinion. It made me stutter as a customer I would not expect to be charged for a moldy dish (or at least provide a new one), but I dont think I should be telling the server that. Furthermore, she also mentioned that 'the kitchen is closed anyway so...' which made me feel quite insignificant as a customer. I dont think this form of communication and service was appropriate, especially when I was questioned about my finding of the mold and was asked what i wanted her to do rather than to offer assistance and be apologetic. For the price I am paying, i definitely do not anticipate mold in my food. It's a health and safety hazard and should not be taken lightly. After taking the dish away, she comes back to let us know that we were right and that there was mold, in which she apologized; however, i dont think that apology mitigate the fact that we werent treated appropriately. I know we all have bad days, but i do think this should be addressed. FOOD: Fresh Oysters 3/5 - fresh, subtle flavour and light to taste - smaller in size, nothing out of the ordinary to be honest - decent pricing Beef Carpaccio 3.5/5 - light and delicate slices of raw beef, mild in flavour - nice pairing of arugula to give a peppery taste - notes are quite subtle, capers provide saltiness - very nice for them to split 2 dishes for us (party of two) when they know we were sharing, bonus points on that - overall good, again nothing too out of the ordinary and i did find the beef lost in some aspects but a good dish Lobster Ravioli 4/5 - cream sauce tasted quite rich in flavour and well seasoned, providing a sweet tone - initially ravioli was well cooked, but does get hard as time sits and gets cold - good amount of filling ratio, lobster notes were slightly lost from the heaviness of the cream sauce but present, very delicate - overall a good dish, can get heavy but would continue eating Linguine Pescatore 4/5 - good amount of seafood and variety, whole shrimp were my favourite and not rubbery - al dente linguine, well seasoned - hint of garlic notes, a bit oily from the olive oil but not overpowering Tiramisu 2/5 - quite dry ladyfingers which made the dessert average - would also prefer more espresso and amaretto notes to highlight the dish - quite underwhelming, my slice also didnt have much ladyfingers - could not finish because raspberry on top was mouldy Creme Brulee 3/5 - well torched - decent portion - nothing special but good texture overall - again, raspberry was mouldy and could not finish dish read more

We wanted a quick dinner before our 6:30 movie. We arrived at 5:30 and they ensured they would get us out on time. No bread was offered to as...assuming because we were in a rush and I am gf?? Regardless, they should have offered. Hubby had bruschetta followed by spaghetti bolognese. He asked for spicy oil which they had readily available. He LOVED his meal. It was simple but delicious and comforting. I asked for a gf veg pasta. Their only gf pasta is a penne so I got pasta primavera with lots of veggies, a tomato sauce and no cheese. I also sprinkled some chili oil on top and it was very tasty. They renovated the interior since our last visit about 3 years ago. It is very open and quite pretty on the inside. read more

This seafood paparedelle was off the chain. Usually I don't like cream sauces but it wasn't too rich. Just the right amount of rich. Lots of great seafood and the zucchini and butternut squash are a great touch. Highly suggest two spoons of the parm though. Mmmm the fat that is needed that is the only reason it loses a point. I love love love pizza and ordered a Salsiccia E Funghi pizza without the mushrooms. It was good. I liked the crust and the pizza was cheesy. I was expecting the sausage to have a bit more kick. Beautiful decor and fancy atmosphere. The food was not as great. Raspberry margarita was excellent. Paella risotto was so so. It has good portion of sea food which was great but it was a so so dish. Escargot had too much cheese that I could hardly taste any escargot underneath it. Tiramisu was very average. Maybe my expectations were a bit high but again if you charge that much for food it better be good. :) Service was average. It was a busy Father's day but hey we are paying a lot and don't want to wait for a desert menu for 10 minutes and then ask another waiter to get it for us. read more

This is our go to place for a great meal, however, Valentine's Day night was not a good time to go. We made reservations at the beginning of February knowing it was going to be busy. We asked to sit at the bar, which we always do and they always have a reserved sign for us. We got there with few seats available, as a party of 5 men, and it looked like they were all married had taken up the corner. We ordered our food and my husband got his appetizer very quickly. From there it took a downturn. More than an hour later we got our food, after the bartender went 3 times asking where our dinners were. Nothing special, a nice steak for my hubby and a pasta that obviously had been under the lamp or on a heated surface, only to have the middle lukewarm. A very disappointing night. Understandably it was Valentine's, but for repeat customers, and they know who we are, the service was unacceptable. read more

Best Italian food! From the moment we walked in to the end, the service was impeccable. I made reservations last minute and they only had a table for 11 at 5pm. We were running late from touring Hamilton waterfalls with my relatives who were visiting us. I was going to cancel the reservations but when I called, they were very accommodating and said it was fine to move it to 5:30pm but we would have to leave by 6:50pm restaurant because there was a party of 50 people coming at 7pm. As we were driving over, we review the menu online and decided our order. We were pretty efficient, arriving around 5:40pm and getting our order in by around 5:50pm. We just ordered the main course since I knew we would have less than a hour to eat. I'm sure the kitchen also worked fast to get our food prepared quickly. Despite the rush, the food was all displayed perfectly and we all praised the food being delicious. I got the Cioppino (lobster & other seafood in herbed tomato broth) which had really fresh seafood and broth was delicious. My husband got Osso Buco (braised veal) and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Everyone really enjoyed their dishes. Love the atmosphere, food and service. They definitely get a perfect score. We will definitely be back. read more

An upscale, trendy Italian restaurant which stands out in the sea of run-of-the-mill, fast food chains in the mega-plex of Winston Churchill and Dundas. My second time here and the menu still offers many grand Italian entrees, along with specials and appetizers. I ordered the seafood risotto, which is laced with saffron and mild spices and has a mild tangy taste with a definite seafood flavour. It's got eveything from scallops to lobster bits. If you are more into four-legged creatures, then you can order veal, chicken and beef. The portions are pretty generous, this isn't a cheap place it's worth it for a special occasion. Came here for a very special and intimate event and this place has met beyond my expectations. First of all I would like to point out that they made a personalized menu with the title of the event! I chose one of their set menus and it was great! I initially booked for 10 people but stupid of me I forgot adjust the number of seats before the event. They were able to accommodate the number of people I requested even if it was really tight. I was very pleased with the food! From start to finish they have perfected everything! They even cut the cake for us and served a little slice with our chosen dessert. The service was super friendly, the steaks were cooked to perfection! The coconut cream pie was so GOOD! And lastly the bread were hot and buttery! I've always enjoyed celebrating events here. They never disappoint! read more

We went on a Thursday and it was pretty loud and busy. The prices and treatment were upscale, but unfortunately the food was not. We ordered the Osso Buco and the Jumbo Seafood Ravioli. It came out very quickly and the server told us it was because it was already cooked and they just heated it up. The shrimp and lobster meat in the ravioli were overcooked, probably because of that. We ordered wine, but they never gave us a wine menu so we never knew the prices, despite asking the server the price difference between a bottle and two 9-oz pours. The food was very much like a chain restaurant, which was not what we were expecting. Overall, if you're going with a group who wants to go here then it's bearable, but if you want to go somewhere as a couple this is not the place for you. read more

Had the pleasure of revisiting this resto last night and felt It warranted a review - charming as it might seem I realize it's truly a spot that's a function of convenience from where it's located with the ambiance and noise buzz akin to that of a university cafeteria- though it's not without its heralds (personally I do enjoy the comfortable seating in the bar area) I do realize I was there during primetime I always enjoy an open concept kitchen - but sadly there is no artistry taking place here - it's a factory assembly line where drones perform and you can watch what a pre-franchise product run by aspiring post secondary students would look like seeking a ISO-9000 certification. They boast a standard curated wine menu by the glass and bottle - standard fare here - though no sommelier available for consult The Carpaccio is one of my favs on the menu and truly is one of the better ones I've had in the city - simple and true where less is more and is a great classic piece. The Crab cakes were actually the high point ; having had crabby patties across the continent - for what they've presented is quite an enjoyable feat - though I did have them split it into two individual cakes as opposed to the single huge patty as it was more manageable that way as a tapas piece - and I owe kudos to them recognizing that input and making the request of the kitchen - the additional chunked avocado and mayo complimented it very nicely - it's not Maryland but they'll pass :) The cheese board was "meh"'such that It offered no real value beyond the delightful jams I truly could take it or leave it but I'd rather revisit the charcuterie board I'd had on previous visits... The smoked Salmon salad was actually drier than Preferred but the addition of figs and pine nuts to the soft cheese to the greens was a notable difference that added a sweetness I found delightful I was actually disappointed with the Lobster pasta ravioli - as a seasonal item I found the rose sauce uninspiring and without merit and the stuffing was bland, light and had me searching for traces of crustaceans - all I could taste was fresh pasta cooked to perfection - I'd personally seek this dish elsewhere Though I will say they make a wicked Americano coffee - and it is fantastic and when paired with a shot of baileys was worthy of a repeat (and - it's served with a generic almond biscotti ) Notably a very nice light tiramisu and flavourful coconut cream pie that both were bang-on terrific as a post meal delight - I'd suggest exploring the dessert menu :) read more

I feel like the people who gave this place more than the 3 stars it deserves don't get out very much Lets start with the positive stuff. Our hostess was super welcoming and our waiter was great too. The decor felt homey and bar was nicely lit... 2 stars In terms of the over priced food I can only review what we tried. Maybe I missed one of their greatest hits but quite frankly, I doubt it. Ravioli tasted store bought, then cooked in butter and old sage. Calamari was cold and chewy, like overcooked rubber chewy. Carpaccio was so bland not even the capers woke that beef up. And if you want pizza just save yourself and walk next door to Boston Pizza because the Margherita was worse than NoName brand frozen pizza. Like day old Delissio is better than the pizza I had here. Isn't this place Italian? What a tragedy. And the final star goes to, the crab cakes... surprisingly big chunks of sweet crab, lightly seasoned to accommodate the aioli. That's 1/5 - so maybe it was a one hit wonder? who knows, but what I do know for sure, is that I won't be back to find out. read more
