Hands down the best moving experience I've ever had. Nobody likes to move, it's a ton of work and can be an emotional experience but it's still something everyone has to do multiple times in their life. I've moved all across California and every single time it was a nightmare, if I did it myself it was backbreaking or friendship destroying and when I've used movers they have broken, scuffed or straight up stole my stuff. Thankfully when I did my last move I found Ace Movers!!! Friendly staff both in the phone and in person, the guys work fast and treat everything extremely well. We even had some "problem" items like a fridge that was too big to get in the house, but they figured it out and got it in there! On Time! Very fast! And very accommodating. My Daughters new house is three floors and brand new. The washer and dryer are on the 3rd floor and they stack in a closet. These guys didn't even flinch! With COVID 19 moving was gonna be a challenge, we normally have help from friends and family. My friend recommended Ace movers and said she loved them. I called and they were amazing over the phone Stephanie was so helpful and understanding that it was hard to confirm anything with all going on in the world. She gave me tips on moving during this COVID situation. We finally scheduled our move, anytime I had questions she was so nice to help. We moved at the end of June from the East Bay to the Peninsula and the long story short is that Ace Moving (and Roberto and crew in particular) did a great job. I was scheduled to use Jay's Small Moves, but then they cancelled on us last minute without any notice (see my complaint of Jay's Small Moves on their Yelp page). I called Ace Moving only 2 days before the move and they were able to schedule us! We moved a two-bedroom and it was very efficient. Roberto and his team were especially helpful in moving delicate objects (paintings and a mirror), coming well-prepared with industrial blankets, etc. Our new place is a townhouse with 3 floors and even though there was a lot of moving up stairs, everything was very fast and careful. Amazing experience with Ace Moving, would highly recommend. The office staff was extremely helpful and communicative in the booking process and lead up to the move. The movers were also great with communication, they called to let us know they were on their way (we were given an 8am-10am window for arrival and they got there around 8:45am). We moved at the end of last summer and were definitely going to need the help of movers. I like to use local, family owned businesses whenever possible. We chose Ace Moving because of all the excellent reviews on Yelp and they did not disappoint. We prepared them that we had quite a bit of stuff for a large 1 bedroom moving into a 2 bedroom but I still think we had surprised them with the amount of stuff as we had a storage room off our apartment. It was just 2 guys that were so kind and full of HUSTLE (I really do not know how they physically pulled it off). We didn't always have everything perfectly packed but they never had any complaints and really worked with us to make sure things were packed in the truck so that things arrived safely (approximately 12 miles away). I was a bit concerned because moving companies can be very picky about how things are packed. Next move we make Ace Moving will be getting our business no doubt! True Aces at Moving! read more

Where to begin, from my first contact when I phoned I received professional and knowledgeable guidance, and assistance. The movers (Ken and Jared) showed up on time with a smile and ready to work. Their care and handling of my items was impressive they treated my furniture like million dollar items even though it was older and not in the best shape. It's our first time hiring movers so we are a bit nervous about what to expect and the cost. We are moving from Hayward to San Carlos. We moved everything on our own except for the furnitures (9 big/medium and 6 small pieces) to keep the cost down. I yelped all the movers who service Hayward and called them up for a quote. I was getting quotes for over $550, Ace moving gave me an hourly rate that is second to the lowest ($88 cash/hr). I didn't go with the mover who gave me the lowest quote because I couldn't understand him at all (even through emails) and he was not answering any of my questions. I talked to Kenny on the phone, he seems very sensible and honest. He answered all my questions thoroughly. Given my situation, Kenny agreed to make an exception and squeezed us in on Saturday afternoon with 3 hour minimum instead of the regular 4 hour minimum. It turns out their morning move got cancelled and they were able to come at 9am instead! Kenney and JD came on time at 8:50am, they loaded everything up in an hour. The drive took them 45 mins (standard practice that drive time is doubled) and only 45 mins to unload at San Carlos. They are incredibly experienced and strong. They are down to business and they didn't milk the clock. The bill comes out to be $286 before tips! I definitely recommend Ace Moving for big and small jobs. If you want to keep the cost down, try to be as prepared as possible. For instance, we emptied out all the drawers, took out all the shelves and taped all loose pieces/cables. I'm writing this review because I used a company called "US Movers", located in Santa Clara (address: 3250 Victor Street, Suite A Santa Clara, CA 95054), claimed they were Ace Moving when they booked me. The agent sent me to Ace Moving's BBB review site and claimed they were one of the highest rated companies in the Bay Area. I checked them out on Yelp too and thought this was the company that I was gonna use to help me with my move. Another thing is US Movers even prints their contracts as "Ace Moving and Storage" and their email address says ace moving too (example: kevin@acemovingservices.com). SO PLEASE DON'T GET FOOLED! MAKE SURE YOU ASK THEM ABOUT THEIR LOCATION. IF THEY SAID THEY ARE LOCATED IN SANTA CLARA, THEN THAT'S US MOVERS, NOT ACE MOVING. I'm giving Ace Moving a 5 star-rating not because I used their service, it's because I figured if I'm writing a review on their page about other companies trying to pretend to be them, the least I could do was to give them a good rating...and hell, if they are not good, why would other people pretend to be them, right? read more

After reading the Yelp reviews, I contacted Ace Moving in December 2013 for a January 2014 move (short; just from Oakland to San Leandro). Now, in February 2015, I've contacted them again for a move back to Oakland. I wouldn't even consider any other moving company. And you shouldn't either. Ace is truly the best. Just like they recommend, I checked with the Better Business Bureau and the California Public Utilities Commission when I was searching for a moving company. Then I searched Yelp from the list of local companies that are licensed and insured. Ace Moving ended up at the top of my list, and I have nothing but good things to say about them. They did all the paperwork by the book, were very flexible (even when my apartment building changed our elevator reservation time 3 days before the move), and showed up ready to move on-time (really important when you have a narrow time slot for elevator use). We've used Ace Moving now two times and another family member used them once a few years back. Ace Moving was recommended to us by a realtor and we'd use them again and again! To note, years ago we used one of those cheap moving companies, but after nickeling and diming us (not to mention mandatory tips), we had enough. Now, don't let that giant van scare you. We recently moved and used Ace Moving. Everything about this move was Aces. Scheduling was a breeze, even though we needed it on a Saturday, they made it happen. Ken the owner came out to our house one evening about two weeks before the move to assess the needs and time it would take to move, and to prepare us for what would happen. He was detailed and clear in his explanations of what they do, and very accommodating when we said we prefer to move some things like our computers and artwork ourselves to save time. On moving day they did little things that just goes so far beyond the norm that I feel I have to mention two of the many. When they removed our washer/dryer, the tap leaked, so they found the main water, turned it off and placed a cap on the tap. We had a bunch of dirty dishes in the sink, and said not to move them, we'll first wash them. When I got there the next day, they left us a dishwasher pod (moved the whole box to the new house, but left that one so we could use the dishwasher one last time) At the new house they set everything up, re-assembled the bed, the couches and office desks and chairs. All boxes were clearly labeled, that we knew exactly what was in them, and they even made suggestions of what would make the most comfortable placement of our furniture. We have changed very little from their placement in the past few weeks .... they know their stuff, they see hundreds of houses per year, they know which furniture will "work" in which locations. Most of all, they did this hard work always with a smile and great attitude. So Stephanie, Ken and JD, the three of you ensured us one of the least stressful moves of our lives, and we've moved a lot in recent years! We hope to never move again, but if we do, we sure hope you'll still be running Ace moving. read more

Wow, I am thoroughly impressed with the moving service I received yesterday from Kenny and JD. First off, I had to reschedule at the last minute and they fit me in yesterday afternoon, no questions asked, and they gave me a call when they were done with their first move, to let me know they were on their way! I wanted to find a local company that could move us from our 2nd floor 2 bdr apartment to our new house just 2 miles away. Ace Moving was EXCELLENT. On time and careful with our belongings. Moving is incredibly stressful, even when it's for the better. So having movers that can take care of that big task is such a relief. They were friendly and very fast. When they had moved everything into my house, I was asked to inspect the inside of the truck to ensure all my items were removed. Everything from my first call into the office, to the final signing of the agreement at the end was easy. Saturdays book QUICKLY, so book as far in advance if you can. I ended up moving on a Friday and taking the day off work because of that. It worked better that way. Great company!! read more
