This place is so beautifully done and laid out. I miss the other restaurant that they replaced but I love how elegantly the dining area and joining patio are designed and laid out. I don't gamble but the hostess gave me a tour of the card room/gaming rooms. Nice place to lose or win some money :D! You also have plenty of flat screen tv's to catch up on your favorite sports balling event. Everytime we came to visit when I say visit I mean have a cocktail and snack, the servers were so nice to us. Asked us if there was a channel we wanted to watch, share some suggestions on the menu. I am vegan so not a lot of choices but we were able to find something on the menu. Great beer and wine choices and just a spectacular area to sit on the patio to watch the Napa River go by! I wouldn't call this a family place as it's very pricey food price wise but it's a nice place to maybe grab some snacks and sit outside. I am going up to Napa again here in a few months to look at potential for relocation from San Diego, this place will be on my list for chilling and sipping for sure! read more

So I need to do better when I'm revisiting a place. ‍ this is not my first time here, I actually came for Mother's Day and a drag brunch which were both great. However let's get into this visit! It was a spur of the minute visit after a day of wine tasting and literally starving. I have yet to play at the tables! I plan on it next time. Anywho, we were greeted and seated immediately. We opted to sit outside next to the fireplace. My margarita was good, not great but good. My food and the service however were top notch. Now listen I wanted the ribeye with mashed potatoes. One thing they can do is expand their side options. My steak was perfectly cooked, I didn't want the gravy on my potatoes I found that odd to bring out with a steak but the manager rectified it quickly. They were tasty tho. My friend had the fried rice which was Ahmazing, I totally plan on getting that next time. Our server was extremely attentive. I really enjoy this place and you will too! Am hesitant to post this review as I don't want to "share" this hidden gem. But, I do have to give credit when credit is due. We visited the restaurant on a Sunday with our close friends to partake in their Sunday brunch. Both family's had a little toddler with us and they were welcomed and treated very well. While the price might have you second guessing, I personally think it's worth it. Not only is the food great but, the atmosphere and service matched. We were seated outside on the deck by the river. They let us pick where we wanted to sit and graciously extended the awnings for us to shade us from the sun. (Mind you this is still during the onset of COVID so the number of guests maybe skewed.) Our server, Edna, and her team was fantastic. She explained everything to us, was patient with us, and made great conversation with us. Not once did we have an empty table. The variety of food allowed all of us to find something that we liked. Young or old. The kids enjoyed the pancakes, French toast, tempura, waygu beef, and the chocolate mousse. (The pancakes were actually enjoyed by the adults as well despite how "simple" pancakes may seem.). The adults enjoyed the various yakitori, pork belly, char siu, sashimi, lobster, iceberg salad, croque madame. We tried to sample everything but our stomaches did not align with the size of our minds. To add to the ambiance, there is a really cool koi pond that the kids enjoyed looking into. The place is really layer out well and the decor is nice. The small details were thought through making the place feel modern and timeless. While I wouldn't do this frequently, in fear of having to buy larger belts, I would definitely go back and recommend to give it at least a try. Again, the price maybe alarming as it's comparable to the high end Vegas buffets but, it is very comparable with the bonus of the great ambiance and personal service. read more

It pains me to to change my review to a lower rating... it went from 4 stars to 1 star. I usually don't do this. But after last nights service; It would be wrong if I didn't say anything. The service was lacking. They were so busy and seemed like the were not equipped for proper staff to accommodate the people. We made reservations a few days in advance and still they stuck me & my group of 4 out in the back deck corner where it was freezing. The food was ok. The ramen was too salty. And as we are dining, they were seating everyone else indoors. I kept complaining to our waitress that it was so cold; we wanted to dine inside...she said they couldn't accompany us. That they were at 25% capacity...I told her we made reservations...still, she said the best they could do was bring a heater closer to our table. It was still freezing. We ended up wrapping up our dinner early. I spoke with Monty, the manager, & expressed how embarrassed I was because the service & setting was lackluster. How I sang their praises prior to bringing my friends, and yet everything was disappointing. He offered to seat us inside but we were done with dinner & already paid. He asked me to come back & ask for him...but it's all just very disappointing & discouraging. I wish my 2nd experience was like the first. read more

Ace & Vine makes some delicious food and the portions were more than sufficient. The drinks were tasty. And the environment was very good to us. We had space around us both times we went, so as to not feel cramped. The view inside is cozy and warm, while the outside was relaxing and comfortable. We enjoyed glancing at the gentle river now and then while making the best of our company. I noted in some other reviews a few management complaints. For us it was the opposite. Everyone from greeters to the ones bussing the tables were pleasant and responsive. And Jesse was something not really seen much anymore. Jesse regularly went around checking with each table or group, making sure they were content and that their needs were met. He wouldn't stay long, but Jesse would also engage in a little get-ta-know-ya and fun banter too. So give Ace & Vine your appetite and money, you should enjoy yourself. read more

Was taken here for a 1st date. It was so much fun the jumbo size games were so much fun after we red wine and the incredible food. We definitely recommend the salmon pops and tacos. The staff new how to treat their customers. Giving us space for ourselves outside on the patio with comfortable booth in front of the fire place. No mosquitoes! I would have been chewed up if they had mosquitoes. They also have a casino so it's like you can eat and then win your money back. First time I ever played blackjack. I really didn't joy myself shout out to the staff for making sure that I got my phone back and making sure that I put in my password to confirm that my phone belong to me. Memorable night. read more

I thought this was a nice addition to Napa because many restaurants are not open past 9 p.m., and this place had a bar that was available until 2 a.m. Personally, the main appeal of this place is the atmosphere and seating they offer. There are abundant lounge tables inside, as well as nice outdoor seats with sofas and fireplaces. We chose the outdoor seating around a fire, and I thought the experience was wonderful for a late night hangout with friends. We had no issues with service (the place wasn't that packed on Wednesday night) at all. The cocktails were average/solid quality. If you like sweet, berry-tasting cocktails I would try the Queen of Hearts. The black Manhattan was also decent and another drink I would recommend if you enjoy the classics more. The food dishes here are limited and overpriced for their taste and how well they were prepared. The wagyu beef burger was disappointing in that the beef was slightly overcooked and unseasoned. I understand that you don't want a heavy sauce to overwhelm the quality of the beef, but I could barely taste any salt in the burger. The wagyu pho was interesting, and tasted more like a Thai boat noodle soup rather than a pho. I don't mind fusion twists on dishes, and the meat was indeed fattier and softer than most pho beef cuts. Overall, I would recommend coming here if you're looking for a place to chat with friends and get drinks. So in those in between months where you want to be outside but it's too cold, this is great! I hate being in badly lit places during the day, it makes me feel tired. Now for the food and drinks, it was all decent. Nothing too interesting. The dessert and salad looked cutely plated though. I had an espresso martini and it was okay. The beer selection was okay. I was desperately trying to find a non fast food place to eat after 9pm. This came up on Yelp and I wasn't going to try, due to the 3.5 stars. Im glad that I came back to look at the reviews and decided to dismiss them based on the content. I our party was pleasantly greeted upon entering what ended up being a card casino and restaurant. Our server was very excited and knowledgeable about the food. She recommended several items including the burger which a few people wrote poor reviews on. After hearing a glowing description of the burger from the last working there, I decided to order that as part of the meal. It was delicious and perfectly cooked. I had to laugh because one of the 1 star reviewers commented that it didn't have lettuce or tomato on it. It was a smokehouse style burger with poblano which really shouldn't have tomato or lettuce on it so I must thank the staff here for not dumbing down a great burger to please a man with a horrible palate. I felt that after the enjoyable food (burger and the cauliflower appetizer) and fantastic wait staff, I needed to write a real review of this establishment and their food. read more

This place should teach a course on hospitality!!! For my husband's birthday on October 23rd we went for a hot air balloon ride which ended around 9:30 am....we were starving and I remembered Ace and Vine/The Deck offered brunch. I called the restaurant and was told that they opened at 10:00 am. We were in Napa and arrived exactly 10:00 am. The place was empty, we figured we were just the first ones to arrive which we were pretty happy about. There was no one at the hostess station so I checked in with the bartender who said that they opened at 11:00, but to hold on so he could double check since I told him that I called earlier and someone told me 10. A gentleman came up to us with a wonderful smile and preceded to seat us allowing us to pic our seat. We were the only people there and the buffet was just being setup. We enjoyed ourselves and never felt rushed. Turns out that they actually did open at 11! The person who sat us (I am assuming it was the manager/supervisor) never mentioned it. The only way we knew was because we chatted up our server- who was also wonderful. We were shocked that even though we were there actually one whole hour before they opened they still accommodated us since someone told us the wrong opening time. Even when my son mistakenly slices his own prime rib ( teaching moment) the staff never made him feel like he was doing anything 'wrong'. I highly recommend this spot and applaud their staff! read more

My wife Jan and I had a wonderful experience at the Ace and Vine Restaurant and Casino or better known as a California card room. We had a couple of fabulous cocktails to start. We met their Chef, Chef Henry and told him we probably weren't gonna be eating but then when we sat down we decided to have one of their beautiful sushi rolls known as the "hot blonde" and they're highroller burger! Both fabulous! While we were enjoying our cocktails the chef sent out a fabulous extremely tender breaded chicken with a couple of dipping sauces that was amazing! They have a wonderful outdoor seating area with fire tables and a fabulous Koi pond and if you would like to play some of the cardrooms games they're available as well. Came here to check them out with my co-workers for lunch. They have a beautiful outdoor patio. Their linch special was great, pick 3 for $19. The tuna poke bowl was great and paired well with wasabi mix. the shrimp tempura was great also. I picked the miso soup to go along with my entree and it was tasty! The service is good! They have an incredible chef!! The food always so good I was only able to get a photo of the first dish... the table dug in as soon as the plate hit the table!! We are staying in Downtown Napa and wanted to venture out for a nice dinner and we're recommended Ace & Vine. They did not disappoint! They have a beautiful modern restaurant with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating next to the river (heaters at every table for chilly nights). The wait staff was attentive and informed on all the wines, drinks and food. But the stand out was their food... it was delicious, every dish!! We had 4 appetizers (pigs in a blanket, honey cauliflower, burrata, the deck salad). We followed these dishes with the bangers and mash and angus burger with cheese. Came here on a Thursday night and other nights while going out to drink. This is also connected to a casino right next door that only does table games. This place is always open and is usually the place where people end at the end of the night. They have both an indoor and outdoor area to chill and get drinks. I haven't taken a look at their food menu but based upon the other Yelp reviews, their food looks pretty good! The outside area has some fire pits and there are some seats indoor near the fire place, tables, as well as bar service. They have tvs there if you want to catch the game as well. I think every time I've been here it's been at the end of the night and seems pretty safe. There's a parking lot so there's plenty of parking and they have a full bar. I've gotten margaritas and I have friends order wine and beer too. Would recommend if you're looking for a chill place for a night cap. read more

I've heard a lot of good reviews about the new casino so I decided to check them out yesterday. I came in for their AYCE brunch for $69. When we walked in, we were greeted by the host and when we told her we were in for bunch she asked us if we knew it was $69. (That was upsetting because we felt as if she asked us thinking we couldn't afford it. Why would anyone come in to eat at a casino in Napa not able to afford the food?) We were then seated and we ordered pretty much everything on their menu. The menu is Japanese inspired food. - Prime rib: Good small cut of prime rib thats was very tender but probably pre-made and warmed up with a little sprinkle of sea salt on top. Good but we only ate the middle tender portion because the meat at around it was dry and a bit tough. * Maki * - Yellowtail & Tuna: Both were mediocre. The fish did not seem fresh and was frozen. * Sashimi * - Yellowtail & Tuna: Just like I said for the maki, the fish didn't seem fresh to me. * Raw Bar * - Oysters: We mainly came for the oyster raw. We ordered 2 dozen which was I believe 6 orders (LOL) When it came out, it was a pretty massive box. It looked pretty mesmerizing. Oysters were so fresh but the lack of sauce made it hard to put down. They only came with a red wine vinaigrette sauce and limes and thats was just not enough for us. It was so plain and the sauce wasn't helping at all. Tobiko would and maybe green onions would have been a nice touch. We asked for tobacco to help it but I guess because they are an Asian restaurant, they didn't have it. I definitely will come back with my own sauce LOL - Lobster Tail: Omg! It was cooked perfectly! So good. It was just regular poached lobster tail but it was delicious. * Tempura * - Shrimp Tempura: 3 pcs of perfectly cooked crunchy shrimp. I loved it but we ordered a lot of food. Lol * Yakitori * - [3 Skewers] ( we didn't know we had the option to choose the sauce or rub but we were given all teriyaki) - Chicken: I really enjoyed the chicken. It was fresh, juicy and cooked perfectly. It was a good portion as well. - Pork Belly: Probably one of my favorites. Just like the chicken, it was cooked perfectly and the portion was good. I do want to try it with the rub instead of teriyaki sauce next time tho - Wagyu: Wagyu was good but I thought it was a bit over cooked and I think they squirt siracha on top? But whatever it was, it was too spicy and killed the wagyu for me. - Shitake: I love mushrooms and these shitakes were so good. It was tender but still had a lil bite to it. Of course it was drenched in the teriyaki sauce so I do wonder if it would be different is we did salt and pepper instead. * Salad * - Crab Glass: This was the first dish to come out and even though it didn't look like anything special, it was another one of my favorites. When you look at it, it looks kind of sad because I has no color. Only a 3 sliver of celery and red bell pepper but that was all. But when we tried it. If was surprisingly very delicious. I wanted moved but I didn't want to fill up on noodles. I forgot to mention they also offer bottomless mimosas for $20/person We definitely over ordered but we were told we were doing it right. We came and we conquered! Now that we've tried a good amount of their dishes, we know what to order next time and will definitely be back to try others. Our service was great as well. They were super attentive and they tried to accommodate to all our requests. I am only giving them 3 stars because 1) I felt for $69 there could have had better dishes and options. Skewers, stir fries and frozen sashimi isn't worth it to me. The oyster bar alone would be totally worth it but the fact that they were just plain. It wasn't worth it to me. 2) I felt pretty disrespected that the host asked us if we knew the cost of the brunch as if we looked like people that couldn't afford it. read more

Some girlfriends and I came here this last weekend and I was very impressed with how they remodeled the space from the previous compadres. I have always loved this restaurant space as it has plenty of parking, it's tucked back next to the river and has a great outdoor deck and plenty of seating. I was happy to see that they really turned up the elegance with the over all aesthetic. We sat at a large booth outside and had brought a bottle of rose' from our previous spot, our server let us know that it was a $30 dollar corkage fee (not bad!) and we ordered some lunch. Service was great! Asian fusion inspired menu and I've heard they also have a great brunch. Although a bit steep $65 a person, not sure what is included. The casino/ gambling area was off to the side as you leave in what used to be their private event space so it's very tucked away. They also have a full bar. We had a great time! read more
