When you enter the restaurant, the kiosk is front and center, and you place your order on the touch screens. There are typically 4 types of pasta to choose from, and about 4 sauces. There are salads and sides that you can add to the pasta. I love burrata, and so that was my add-on. The kitchen is always in full swing, with lots of activity, and is open to the public for viewing as they prepare meals. When your meal/order is ready, your name appears on the screen, and one of the employees calls your name. Seating is available after you place your order, and water is self-service as well. I love the cost-reducing atmosphere of the place. The place is well lit, and the staff is pleasant and helpful. I had pesto sauce with spaghetti and a salad. The pasta was supposed to be al dente, but came to the table cold, with a bit of a crunch and a sticky-to-the-tooth texture. This really did take away from the meal. The burrata was okay, but it seemed to be better prepared when they first opened. Again, this is a place I have come to look forward to, and I enjoyed the previous menu. Also, the website menu does not match the in-store menu at all. Because I love the neighborhood vibe of the place and the no-nonsense model they use, I have to go back to see if they can recapture what got my attention when they first opened. My only advice is to prepare the pasta as advertised.

Best Fresh Pasta…read more This review is based on the products-- we've been going to the farmer's market and always find ourselves visiting the La Pasta stand every time. The ladies at the stand are always very friendly and helpful in their suggestions (such as which type of sauce to pair with the pasta, or the flavor of the pasta or ravioli filling). Thus far, we've gotten the egg bucatini, the red pepper bucatini, the seasonal gnocchi, and the dreamy garlic spread. Generally, I'm not a big fan of fresh pasta, because many times, I feel it gets too mushy (or perhaps it is the quality of the pasta). La Pasta fresh pasta has never been mushy; it has that imperative al dente bite-- a clear sign of good quality pasta. The gnocchi is flavorful and pairs well with the dreamy garlic spread. Looking forward to trying the pumpkin ravioli later in the week. The price is comparable to the fresh pasta you would find at a specialty store, like Whole Foods, Metropolitan Market, or PCC Markets-- however, La Pasta's quality is far superior. La Pasta products are worth the price. We look forward to trying any new products, as well as upcoming seasonals. We also hope that they may have a brick and mortar store in the future on the Eastside for the farmer's market offseason.

Each year, I would wait patiently to stock up on my favourtie spices from this company. It was also a chance to see the lovely couple who is so friendly and generous that sells their spices! The wife would be at one bazaar and her husband would be at another location... so cute! Their spices are dried and packed with punch! My favourites are: garlic sesame; creamy galic; wasabi - packed with lots of garlic is how I like it! It is great for making easy party dips and lovely to put on meats or sauces for baking. A very nice gift idea too for those friends who love to cook =D Interestly, while visiting Puyallup Farmers Market this past weekend, I came upon their booth! It wasn't sold by the lovely couple I know, so I am not sure if its a family business or not. The man was vague in sharing details... but their packaging is local and I know I'll see them again at the local winter bazaars. Give them a try! Currently, you can purchase their spices through ordering via facebook or email... or do like I do, and wait for the winter bazaars! www.facebook.com/pages/For-the-Love-of-Pasta

We got the spinach and ricotta ravioli with the mushroom sauce, spaghetti with marinara and an artichoke/mushroom/ olives pizza. It was terrific. I was eyeing the cannoli and a friendly lady in the line told me it was a must try. So I did. It was crunchy, not too sweet, nutty from the pistachio and sweet from the chocolate. Unfortunately we were very hungry so we demolished the food within minutes-- so no pictures. The storefront was very cute. What an absolute hidden treasure…read more Discovered Via Rosa 11 while exploring Bainbridge Island on the advice of a friend. NOW I get why she recommended it! This place is absolutely delicious in every way! Driving past, you might miss it entirely. The exterior is almost secretive (perhaps that's what they're going for). But once inside, you step into a small Italian market filled with authentic staples. You'll find imported pastas, olive oils, sparkling sodas, cured meats, olives, etc. Equal parts neighborhood pizzeria and Italian market. The owners themselves came out and greeted our table, which immediately impressed me and set the tone. This place is truly family-run. A husband and wife from Hawaii and Italy who have created something similar to the movie "Nonna". Then there's the wood-burning oven that sits glowing in the kitchen, the kind that makes that perfect blister and char. We ordered the Burrata y Speck pizza ($23). San Marzano tomatoes, whole burrata, cherry tomatoes, basil, speck, and Parmigiano. It was outstanding! The crust is PERFECTLY crisp! Funny note* Look how they shaped the pizza as a heart for us on their own....how cute! We also tried the Bruschetta, which was equally excellent. For drinks, we shared a bottle of blood orange sparkling wine, which might have been the most refreshing thing I've had all day. A couple of things worth noting: - First, like most small Italian eateries, dining here is communal as space is limited. You might get your own table, or you might end up dining along fellow pizza lovers. Roll the dice and enjoy the experience. - Second, if you order something to go at the counter, remember to pick it up before leaving. I ordered the cannoli ahead of time to take with me, and completely forgot to take them with me on the way out. My fault. My only real suggestion for Via Rosa (should they need more business) is to lean into the curb appeal a bit more. This place deserves to be discovered IMO, but right now it's so subtle from the road that many people will drive right past without even realizing what they are missing. Which would be a shame because if you stop, you'll find a tiny slice of Italy tucked away on Bainbridge Island! Will ABSOLUTELY be back. 5 stars.

We did find seating and there is seating in the restaurant portion, as well as down the stairs. It's a cute little place in the heart of pike place. We got the lasagna casalinga, from the farm, and from the sea pastas. Lasagna casalinga: I love lasagna but I've never had a white sauce lasagna before. I really loved this and I loved it a lot more than I expected. It has peas, sausage, and mushrooms, made with in house bechamel sauce. I thought this might feel super heavy and rich since it was a cream sauce but it wasn't! It was creamy without the feeling of being "too much" when eating it! That's always my worry whenever I eat cream pastas or sauces, that I can only eat a few bites and then feel full bc it the richness. The mushrooms, pea, and sausage worked so nicely into the flavoring of the lasagna and the sausage was flavorful and seasoned well. I believe it's a pork sausage which in my option always tastes great. From the farm: this was my absolute favorite! I always lean towards ragu or bolognese sauce, it's my favorite dish because the flavors become so pronounced during the cooking process. This was a bison ragu with perfectly al dente rigatoni. The bison wasn't gamey and pair so nicely with the ragu because it was able to get in all the crevices of the pasta. We opted for burrata as a topping which gave a really nice creaminess From the sea: this was a spaghetti with rockfish, pea vines, leeks, and harissa. The pasta felt a little Asian inspired, in Chinese cooking we steam whole rockfish and pea vines are a very common veggie dish, so I loved that the elements made me think of my culture. The harissa also gave it a spicy kick which was reminiscent of having chili oil or chili paste on the side at dimsum. While I loved the flavors of this it wasn't my favorite because it was a bit too light. I really wished the flavors were bolder and more pronounced. Rockfish/white fish is very mild fish so the taste is very dependent on the flavors you add to it. However if you like light flavors and fish that isn't too fishy, this is great! This is a really fresh dish so even though it wasn't my favorite doesn't mean it's not a great pasta! I can't wait to come back to try the next rotation of pastas!

There weren't a lot of people that day, we had the whole place to ourselves. The guy who took our order had so much patience to explain each pasta. I got the from the sea and my husband got Pomodoro. He still talking about this place and won't stop talking about it. Mine of the other hand was okay; the taste is kinda odd to me, and it's kinda too salty for my liking. The fish were so small, like tiny pieces, I wish its bigger. My personal favorite of my dish is the Al dente part and the pea vine. Other than that mine was meh. The whole place is sooo cute and definitely a cute date spot!!!
