    Gyro plate
    regina g.

I don't normally rave about restaurants, because let's be honest, most around here are simply not that good. This place is absolutely delicious! Got the gyro plate. Meat was tender and moist. Salad was fresh and delightful. Rice was out of this world! Absolutely loved it! HUGE portions. They also use the compostable takeout boxes. We will definitely be back.

Hummus with Cauliflower Sandwich--perfect for now and later!
    April S.

Quick, delicious, and nutritious! I was the only customer seated inside but there was a steady flow of online and pick up orders while I ate. Service was helpful and my cauliflower sandwich was perfection! Better than I've had in a minute and layered with lots of fresh vegetables. I appreciated tasting the sumac too! The hummus was creamy and the pita warm. They even gave me extra tahini. Will definitely come back here if ever I'm close again.

Gyro Makers is a convenient spot for some good, fast Greek food if you're in the Renton area! Located near the Benson Fred Meyer, this place offers fast, casual Greek food at a decent price! I've come here a few times with my family, and the food is always great! They definitely load up the plates for you, and the quality is always good as well. The staff are really helpful too, offering recommendations on what to eat and pointing out new things to try. My personal favorites are the gyro plate, as well as the greek fries. For me personally, the first time I got the Greek fries I thought it was a bit too sauce-y where you couldn't taste much anything else, so I recommend ordering less sauce/sauce on the side, I thought it tasted much better that way. Gyro Makers is definitely a great spot if you're looking for some decent Greek food without breaking the bank!

    Special Heroes Fries

Ordered the Special Heroes fries for pickup at lunch and it was loaded up! My Togo box was so heavy it was packed to the top! Always so delicious and flavorful, it's my go to when I am craving Greek Fries!

Food is really good, fast service and clean. Wish I started eating there sooner. I'll be back

    5 Pieces Dolma not great
    Brian C.

I just wasn't impressed with this place. It has great reviews maybe I just picked the wrong things. The dolma tasted old and the rice was an odd brown color and the rice was hard like they were older. The shawarma I have had many of these in the past and this seemed more like an oversized chicken burrito to me. I did DD and maybe that was a bad call as it was cold by the time I received it. I just didn't even eat it. The chicken and dry and looked beat up. The shawarmas I have had in the past were in a similar wrap had the pickle and are juicy and have more sauce to them. This just seemed like it was so large it was overcompensating for flavor.

    Special Heroes Fries

Special Heroes Fries are amazing. However utensils and napkins were not available as requested. Gyro was ok, could've been better. Vegetables were chopped into cubes which was weird instead of sliced. And no onions. I'm used to gyros with onions. Also, barely any lettuce. The fries are what I would order.

Gyro plate, amazing portions and taste.

Absolutely incredible. The meat is tender, tasty. Huge, satisfying portions. I got the europlate and it comes with the rice. The meat a little salad but the most impressive thing is how they give you so much of the tzatziki sauce. Sometimes other places can be a bit stingy with their sauce, and give you a dollop. This place gives you pretty much a bowl's worth of the dressing. This is the place I go whenever I am craving Mediterranean food.

    Fries and Feta Crumbles Yum
    Sarah S.

We came in for a quick snack, and left with some Fries with Feta Crumbles. While this was not the most notable visit, I love Gyro Makers because their flavors are solid, their food is fresh and they always provide excellent service. These were so good!

The gyro has very little meat pieces. Falafel was too highly seasoned and I had a reaction to that.

    Did this food truck close?

Yes, but the owner of the truck is opening an actual restaurant in Renton, according to his recent posts on Facebook (Newcastle community).

Where did the truck go? I drove over to order in person but it was gone today

I saw either on their website or Google that they were coming back on the 11th of November.

Overall, I really enjoyed my meal. The rice was great, the gyro meat was flavorful, and the tzatziki was really good. I got the lunch portion, which was good, but I do wish I had gone with the dinner size--definitely doing that next time since I want to try their hummus. The salad was the only part that was a little off for me. It seemed like the veggies hadn't been dried very well, so there was quite a bit of water sitting at the bottom. It also had pickles in it, which was interesting--but I actually didn't mind that part since I like pickles anyway. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is because my husband's order wasn't made correctly. He ordered a similar plate with chicken and specifically asked for no salad and no tzatziki, and it was even confirmed when he ordered. But when he got home, both were still on his plate, which was frustrating for him. Aside from that, the food itself was really good. I'd definitely order from here again--and next time, I'm going for the Dinner Plate

I think the owner honestly loves the food that gets served and that translate to really good food. I was amazed at the flavor profile. I loved the vibrant taste and extravagant use of garlic in al the dishes. We even brought our 1 year old here and she loved a lot of the food even some of the more flavorful ones. I think I can echo that some of the grilled meat can be a little dry or rough. I do think that might just be the cut of meat that is used and maybe that's how it might taste? But I have faith that with some different meat cuts those can come out a lot juicier. Even at 4 stars, I do suggest anyone reading this to go check this place out. Its definitely a party of flavors.

The menu is huge, with plenty of Greek, Jordanian, Turkish, Yemeni, and other classic Mediterranean entrees, sides, desserts, and drinks. I got the hummus mix, a chicken shawarma plate, and Karak tea. Everything was fantastic! The portions were huge so I have plenty of leftovers for future meals and snacks. The hummus was absolutely a standout, with delicious ratios of creamy chickpeas and tangy tahini, garlic, and fresh veggies on top. The Karak tea was a perfect balance of sweet and spiced flavors, absolutely a must try if you like chai or similar spiced coffees/teas. The shawarma plate had fresh veggies, even more hummus, and tons of chicken and rice. Everything was well cooked and delicious. The service was very fast, and the employee I talked to was so friendly! He gave me a free maple donut to snack on while I waited for my to-go order.
