And from the moment the chips and salsa were set on our table, I was in love with the food. Warm, homemade chips and a salsa that had just the right amount of spicy bite to its flavor. I went with the taco plate (with pork), my wife went with the enchiladas (also with pork). The pork was delicious, and the tacos were some of my favorite that I've had in Seattle. I'm not usually a huge fan of beans, but these beans had a flavor I can't quite place, so I'll just call it delicious. I'm not used to having potatoes served with my tacos, but they worked, and they were also delicious. My plate was clean by the end of the meal. We'll definitely be back!!

We started with house made Micheladas (Bloody Mary made with beer instead of vodka), a Ballard (spicy) marg, and Stoup IPA - all great on a surprisingly warm day. The chips (hot), salsa and guac were exceptional - too many times we end up with pretty good but maybe room temp chips - glad these were fresh. I started with the pozole rojo, a pork shoulder, corn, and chile soup topped with red cabbage and sliced radish, and pickled onions - I don't get to enjoy too often but was happy to see it here! The campechanos taco was truly special - could definitely taste the smoked pork belly and chorizo in addition to the carne asada and pork. The charred tomatillo salsa is one that I will be adding to my heavy rotation. Next time we are in Ballard, we will go out of our way to return for a great time!
