Absolute Plumbing is one of the worst plumbing companies in the Bay Area. We hired them to fix a leak at a Grundfos recirculating pump connection. Two technicians arrived, and I showed them where the pump was leaking. One technician removed the leaking gasket. They asked me to pay for and order the gasket, which took a week, and asked me to pay $527 for less than one hour of time, which I paid for the first visit. They sent a new technician to install the new gasket a week later, but the new technician didn't know what to do and left in a hurry. I called the manager, who accused me of being anti-immigration, which is false since I speak some Spanish and often hire immigrants. They emphasize "Diamond Certified," which doesn't mean anything since they cannot repair anything. Absolute waste of time and money. read more

We gave the 2 stars for showing up. There was no estimate upfront. It is a tankless water heater, no hot water. The tech showed up, was in the garage for 2 hrs mol, he was waiting for "tech support" for an hour...which we were charged for. They were able to get the part the next day, which took a half hour to install. $450. later and we still have inconsistent hot water. Complete lack of professionalism. Always get an estimate upfront, that was on us. I also had to call for an invoice: separation of parts and labor and nothing was delineated. And now we have to get a new plumber. read more

Do yourself a favor and find another plumbing company. I hired them to do a camera inspection of my home and address a plumbing issue in our lateral line. Instead, they installed a cleanout that was not relevant to the issue with my lateral sewer line issue and created a bigger issue with my lateral line when they tried to hydrojet it. I had to bring in another plumber to fix it. Aside from the lack of effective plumbing work, their owner was extremely unprofessional and unethical when I tried to resolve the issue with them. He lied about the work they did and resorted to screaming and swearing at me when I called him on his lies. Avoid at all costs. read more

I have used them more than once. the first time was when they picked up after another plumber could not deliver. they did it successfully. The second time there was an issue. I suspected a leak after they reset a toilet for me. after couple of calls they came back to address my concern and they reset the toilet again. and guess what? they are so concerned about customer satisfaction that they didn't change me for the second visit. well, I have to say, they are not cheap, but good service do cost if you want good work. use them. read more

I heard a leak in my pipe and Oleg with AP found the problem under the house right away, it was a pinhole leak in a copper pipe under the sink. He took photos of before and after he fixed it, and told me the work is warrantied for 50 years. I have a peace of mind, and appreciated the efficient and quality work. The technician, Reid , found the main source of the problem within 15 minutes and tackled the job quickly and efficiently, leaving everything clean and tidy afterwards. This was a very unpleasant experience . We asked them to come over and examine a small leaky faucet under the sink. Guys come and come and have an estimate over the phone for $243 and asked my wife the credit card number and charged $473 . RUN!! If you don't believe me, read the list of negative reviews below. I hate to write these kind of reviews, as you'll see in my profile, I really like to highlight a business, but I can't do that here. These people are the absolute worst! They charged me $30 to have someone come out for a quote, which they said would be applied to the job if I accepted the quote. This isn't normal, but I needed someone that could complete the work that day. When the tech came out to look over the job, he gave me a quote (which was high compared to other quotes I had gotten) and I agreed to it. We signed a contract and he went to grab tools to start the work. When he came back he said his boss told him to leave and they couldn't do the job, AFTER I JUST SIGNED THE CONTRACT. When I asked why, he said our valves were not to code (which is weird, it's a newer house). I said ok, well let's have them fixed. The tech told me his boss said no and he had leave. I then asked why he couldn't update the valves being that he was a plumber and all. His response was, we don't want to be liable if something leaks. WHAT?!? You shouldn't be in this business then! I asked for his boss to give me a call, which he never did. I had to call the office, and they transferred me. The supervisor got hostile with me and said he doesn't owe me an explanation and sounded like he threw the phone. When I called back, they sent me to their answering service. NICE! TLDR - Charged $30 for a service call, had me sign a contract and was then told they couldn't do the job anymore. I had a storm drain issue that required pulling up cement and installing new pipe. They did a great job and got it done in a timely manner

These people showed up, attempted to fix a leak by removing a fitting and putting new pipe dope on it. They charged me $300. Long story short - it still leaked after they left. I sent my son over to fix it, he saw that the fitting was cracked so he replaced it. Took him 45 minutes including going to the hardware store. Leak fixed. Absolute Plumbing and Drain refused to refund my $300. I would NOT recommend this business to anyone. read more

Called them Thursday for a new leak. Was told no charge to look for leak! Kathy said we would figure what needs to be done then email you bid to do work. I asked if they would do nitrogen testing to detect exact leak location. She said today was just to figure things out and no charge. Juan showed up and saw outside hose bid had been left on and two toilets have slow leak fill valves. He quote my ill wife $285 to fix them and my wife declined and said my husband can handle that. Now the scam begins!! Juan says if like I can look under house in crawl space and my wife said no thanks as you already found problems. He pushed and pushed and finally she relented. He looked around for 9 minutes no leak. They bill my wife $443 for looking. Not a single repair was ever done. Call them back and Rod the owner said like a bad used car dealer- no charge to come out but there is a "Diagnostic fee" to look around. Total dishonest dirtbag who was extremely rude on the phone. We had a leak somewhere in our underground pipes, from our water meter to the front of the house. We had Absolute Plumbing to come out & see the damage & check to see if they could fix our problem. Mr Billy Dixon, the owner of Absolute Plumbing, sent the 2 very best of his crew. These 2 men worked so hard all day. They of course had to dig up our yard to get to the pipe. They had to endure all the mud from digging 2 feet down. They were right on the money, very professional, very kind, & didn't mine us asking so many questions. They came out on a Friday evening, saw a desperate mom with sick children and decided that's a great opportunity to take an advantage of her. Tried to get me to pay $4500 for a job that a different reputable company did on a Saturday morning for $800 (doing exactly what Absolute plumbing said they would). And they filled the hole back since I didn't hire them just to be spiteful, even though I was willing to pay for their time to do it. Stay away from this garbage company read more

Quick response when I asked for help with my water heater. Larry (the plumber) was knowledgeable however glossed over some details and you could tell right away he had zero interest in fixing the water heater to repair it. The repair estimate was 900 to replace a 160 dollar part (which You Tube showed me how to replace in about a half hour). What he wanted was to replace the water heater to the tune of 3800. A new water heater costs about 1000 so he is expecting 3000 for labor...The trip to my house for "diagnosis" was $280 and the thermostat itself said what was wrong...so no big brain needed. I know the bay area is expensive, but this seemed too much like a rip off and I would shop around if you have time to do so. I'll check with Home Depot next week. read more

Good service but DECEITFUL PRICING. The minimum charge is $448, no matter how simple the task is. Clearing my sewer line took 5 minutes. The receptionist will tell you there's a $30 charge for the technician to come out and provide an estimate, but she also tells you she doesn't know anything about the service rates. She's lying. She knows that the minimum charge is $448 (plus the $30) for ANY SERVICE. She knows that no one would schedule an appointment if they knew about the $448 minimum charge. RIP OFF!!! read more

These folks run a SHAM business. I paid for their service fee of $60, no issue. Upon Arrival, property was walked and 3 weeks passed and I finally got an estimate, after multiple calls asking for it. $40K for a single family residence for French drains, no permit cost or even ROM included. I rcv'd an ultra high level estimate and I asked or a google earth image to be marked up with the basic idea of what is in the estimate. I've been emailing Melody for weeks and then today after I sent an inquiry from my 2/3/22 inquiry for status and was told that the ONLY person who estimates, who also came to my property, is out on medical leave for an undetermined amount of time. I was also RUDELY cut off and rushed that Melody only works once a week (the one who was supposedly fielding my inquiry) and their RUDE AND SPEED taking Vanessa refused to listen to me, spoke over me, hung up on me because she asked me to email her and I stated that the "info" email has all of my details. Being that she called me in answering the "info" email she then goes on to say that she doesn't have any of the information from those emails. I asked her how that can be as she called me today moments after I sent my inquiry email off today. THIS IS A SHAM COMPANY where I was initially prodded for a review. I emailed to inquire as I have not really a reason to a review, and then the reception who had no details, was not capable of reviewing emails that she claims to all of a sudden have access to the in box...yes, I will be posting this review on as many places as possible. I can't rave enough about Absolute Plumbing, and in particular Reid S. and his colleague. I had a leak in front of my house which i could not for the life of me find the cause of. I had the city come twice and another plumber too, but neither could figure it out. Absolute were very courteous, professional and explained every step what they were doing. Reid crawled under my house (only about 18" clearance under there - nasty!) in 110 degree heat, and not only found the leak in my refrigerator hose but fixed it within the same afternoon. He took photos under there so I could see where the water was spraying out. It was unbelievably hot and I suggested they reschedule, but they persisted! They upgraded the water intake and put a new valve in, in just a few hours, leaving my kitchen very clean, and all for a good price. Yesterday at this time, I Called for a simple rooter service, asked for an idea of what it would cost . Gal said they would be happy to provide an estimate in person but it would cost $20 for the tech to come. But that it would be applied to the service of course if we decided to move forward. Agreeing to the fee, of course because I understand the rising cost of fuel, I book an appointment for today. 24 hours later, still no drain, I leave work, excited to get this fixed, Just for the tech to tell me as simple as the job is it's a min charge of $448. Thinking he was kidding I asked again.... He was not. Disappointed for sure at not only their price, but mostly their business model. They did not have to waste everyone's time. I hired Absolute to fix what they had diagnosed a bad sewer lateral connection. Sean Salah was the estimator. Sean seemed like an honest person and his explanation for the problem made sense. He told me they do repairs like this all the time and once a permit was pulled, they could start and finish the project immediately. Sean told me they would be bring in an excavator and I could be there. Once the trench was dug, I would be able to see the connection and they could camera the rest of the line so I could see this as well. I was there when the Absolute workers broke the main sewer line while digging the trench to gain access to the connection. I saw it with my own eyes. Note: there was no excavator, they were digging the hole by hand. Unfortunately, after they broke the sewer line, I had an appointment and had to leave while they were still trying to pump the raw sewage out of the hole. I told Sean I would come back as soon as my appointment was over. Sean called me about one hour after I left the site. He told me they needed to bring in an expensive piece of equipment to finish the job. They tried to up charge me an additional $800 to bring in a "ditch witch". I told them I was going to consult with another plumber before agreeing to the charge for the "ditch witch". After I spoke with another plumbing (same afternoon) Absolute stopped working on the job. They left the raw sewage in the hole and covered it with a piece of plywood. Sean did not respond to my text messages or my calls that day or the next morning. I finally was able to speak with the owner, Rod. Rod told me he was going to pull the permit he had obtained and walk away from the job since I would not agree to the additional $800. Rod was rude and combative. As a result, I set up a meeting with the Contra Costa Sanitary District inspector and Rod. Rod was a no show. The inspector called him at the appointed time and he said he had the wrong time. The inspector and I waited at the site for another hour. Rod never showed. At that point, It was apparent that Absolute was not coming back to complete the job. I hired another Plumbing company to finish the job. They were professional and knew what they were doing. Turns out, Absolute Plumbing misdiagnosed the problem. As a result, I had to pay to fix the real problem (root ball- install a new section of pipe) and to fix the problem created by Absolute Plumbing. I only wish I would have read the reviews before hiring Absolute Plumbing. They are dishonest and they don't know what they are doing when it comes to sewer laterals. I have filed a complaint with the State of California's Contractor's Licensing Board, and I have met with an attorney. My kitchen sink stopped draining for the first time in 30 years and measures suggested on Internet sites failed. Panic gave way to a decision to choose the very best company based on yelp reviews and diamond certification. After all, you get one chance to do it right the first time. I called absolute plumbing and drain and had a return call from Hamid who listened carefully to all my concerns in a very kind and patient manner. He put me at ease, and said he would immediately dispatch. I next received a text message with a picture and bio of Oleg the plumber as well as a summary of their protocols to keep me safe. Oleg arrived within an hour and was a friendly and smiling man with a professional demeanor. He studied the sink and the undercook cabinet as I told him about my efforts to clear the line as well as how I had removed water above the disposal to minimize water gush when he opened the p trap beneath the sink. He asked me if there was a clean out and I told him there was one for the whole house in the garage but not for the kitchen. He asked whether I was sure and I said I was. Instead of proceeding to open the p trap he said he would search himself and OMG he found a cleanout I had never noticed in 30 years on the outside of my house. When he opened the cleanout there was a huge gush of turbid water that would have been inside my kitchen had Oleg been less experienced or persistent! Quality matters!! He worked at the clog for about 10 minutes until the tenacious obstruction yielded to the motorized snake. He then repeated the snake back in and out several times to be absolutely sure. We then ran water for 10 minutes to confirm all was well. So thorough! This was a Absolute perfect experience - I am so grateful! read more

They came out on 4/1/21 to Quote a job for me in Concord, where the water line that went to the building was leaking under the dirt. They charge $20 to come out, fine. Then the guy starts to look at the job & taking pictures to have an estimate prepared for me a few days later. Then he said That I owed an extra $68.99. I questioned him for not disclosing in Advance that the charge to write up an estimate will be an Extra $69! I Didn't want to give a poor review right away so That i would give this some Time so that perhaps my emotions may subside. Thought I may feel different later. But I do not. I Don't consider them to be honest. Because of this, I decided to go With a 2nd quote I received and gave a $3200 business to a different company. So they nickel and dime and Charge you $20 to show up (fine) & Trick you in paying an extra $69 (I never got the estimate btw), but lose On $3000+ business. How smart is that! read more

Avoid this company at all costs! They are extremely dishonest in their pricing. We were told by the receptionist and by the worker that they would bill us by the hour for work done. We were prepared to pay their high hourly rate for one hour of work in our bathroom...but then they charged us $1300. For one hour of work! Outrageous. But unfortunately, they already had our credit card number and we were unable to stop the charge from going through. We have complained to the better business burea and the contractor's licensing board...and noticed that there are numerous complaints against this company for deceptive pricing. We had a sprinkler problem in our front yard and Absolute responded quickly but their workers didn't know what they were doing! They spent 3-1/2 hours digging a hole in our front lawn and going out two times to pick up parts! My husband called to complain and the foreman told them to leave the job and hung up the phone-Wow really terrible way to do business and unprofessional! Absolute worst customer service. The staff that came out to the site were friendly and professional; however the staff in the "office" are absolutely useless. Had to call multiple times for a written quote on fixes and still got no report with an estimated cost of fix. Got attitude and even a staff hang up on us after few attempts. I called on Saturday to get someone to fix a tank-less water heater. They could not make it until Monday. No communication except occasional emails saying they were going out there and who my tech would be. Three days later my tenants still have no hot water and no word from them. When I called to speak to owner, they told me he would call back in 10 minutes when he got in to the office. 45 minutes later I called them back and HE (Owner) told me I was not their only customer and they will get back to me when the had some information.
