    Front Camera View

    Wanted a front camera installed in my wife's 2019 Lexus ES 350. Found the best (& only?) option was the Beat-Sonic CS11A Lexus Front Camera Interface. I asked the owner if he could recommend an installation shop in Maryland and he sent me to Absolute Electronix in Rockville. These guys are awesome! Even though they are 2 hours away, it was well worth the trip. Aaron helped find the best location for the camera and it's switch and went to work. They have a deal with a nearby Toyota/Nissan dealer for a very inexpensive car rental while we waited which gave us a chance to visit the Air and Space Museum at Dulles. The installation was impeccable, we couldn't ask for a better job. There was a snag with the camera interface box which Aaron and Eric at Beat-Sonic solved in the best way possible. The installation was perfect. I can't speak more highly of the entire crew. They really know what they are doing, are very professional in their work and personable and attentive in working with the customer. Don't hesitate to give them a call!

    If you spoke to the customer BEFORE completing you installation, this wouldn't be an issue.

    In short, take your car elsewhere. To be fair, they USED to be a good company. Apparently things changed and all of the issues revolve around customer service. Customer service 101: 1. When a customer schedules an appointment at 10 AM, driving up to the store at 10:10 AM is not a good practice. 2. When a customer schedules an appointment at 10 AM, they expect work to begin at 10 AM, not 3 hours later. 3. When the tech states that installation should take 3-4 hours to complete, they expect the installation to take 3-4 hours, NOT A DAY AND A HALF. You don't know the customer's schedule to hold their car for longer than you stated initially. 4. If staffing levels change suddenly impacting completion times, contact your customers to advise them that things will take longer and they can plan accordingly. Do not surprise the customer after they already dropped off the car, especially if you said it would take 3-4 hours. 5. If there are unforseen issues with the install, contact the customer, advise them and get feedback on how they want you to proceed. Don't just jerry-rig an ugly solution as if that's acceptable. Example 1: Placing a big screen radio DIRECTLY in front of the ac vents, when the screen can be adjusted to ensure vent usage. Example 2: Force-fitting a radio with the unit sticking out an inch instead of calling the customer to find out what he/she wants. 6. (Basic) Always speak professionally in your environment. You never know who is listening. Most of these issues could have been mitigated or completely avoided with proper communication to the customer. At this point, I don't see myself going back to this company for any future services.

    During the pandemic, I purchased a classic van. It came without a stereo; the previous owner…read moreremoved it. I had a small budget for something temporary so I purchased a Pioneer unit on Amazon. Afterwards, I contacted Hot Tint in May 2022. They responded to me that day and told me to stop by the shop. I made an appointment for later that week. When I arrived, I asked them to install the unit and a backup camera. I can't recall how much time it took but it was done in a reasonable amount of time and I'm happy with their service. I called a few other shops around this time. A couple had other projects and couldn't get to me for a few months. A couple of others didn't want to touch the van because of its age, manufactured in 1989. Hot Tint was straight-forward. They said let them see what I have and they'll let me know if they could use what I had or needed something else. I appreciate that approach. I did have a couple of problems but they were responsive. While driving home, my radio rebooted twice. The cable came loose so they told me to return to the shop so that they could fix it. The second is my clock resets to 12:00 every time the vehicle is restarted. They told me to bring it by so that they can fix it but I haven't. I'm rarely on the screen to see the time and just had other priorities. I mention these items to show that they were responsive and willing to troubleshoot the problem. I rate them high also because there are many mechanics and technicians who can work on a classic vehicle but refuse to do so. There are a handful like Hot Tint that jumps right in and do the job. I'm finally ready to add an amp and subwoofer so I will be contacting them again soon.

I was happy to schedule tinting and a remote start installation. Unfortunately, my experience walking through the door this time was immediately negative. I understand I was 39 minutes late, but the front desk representative repeatedly emphasized how important their time was, without considering other factors like traffic. The constant badgering made the situation uncomfortable and unprofessional. Ultimately, I decided to leave because the interaction didn't feel respectful or customer-focused. This is not the best way to treat a returning client who has had positive experiences before.
