The last 2 - 3 times have been a consistent bad experience with food and service. Their dishes just taste different all the time, basically they put something on the plate and then give it a name. Always apologizing for late service doesn't make up for the delay. They keep mixing up orders even after taking electronic order. We dined in at night, with an order of 4 chicken items. It seems the table grilled part is now a hoax, since they either grill inside their kitchen, or they put the meat directly into the gravy. We ordered grilled skewer malai chicken but they served it inside gravy. That too came out from the kitchen, after we had dined, and we were forced to take it as "to go" because they didn't want to cancel the order. The portion sizes range from small to very small. The chicken soup was flavorless. The biryani is nothing but white rice with garam masala and extra small meat bites thrown inside. It had NO taste of a typical biryani base that includes tomato, saffron, yogurt, etc. The only recipes we enjoyed was the chicken Manchurian and mango lassi. They charge for the water too and serve it in pathetic, baby size, to-go bottles. The tipsy, alcoholic drinks menu doesn't pull up on their website, but it is listed on the table menu with a scan code that is then ineffective. We left a tip but we were not fully satisfied for the high prices we paid. Likely will not return. read more

Service was so horrible, there was 1 server for ~20 guests. He was almost getting annoyed for asking to bring additional food items once we needed refill. We wait 30 min to pick it up, the employee/owner tells my boyfriend that it'll be another 20 minutes because 'the cook just came in,' so we wait until I have to send my boyfriend into the establishment MORE THAN AN HOUR LATER and he still didn't come out with the food. We get the food after waiting for two hours in total, the food itself is tasty but the FOOD POISONING was HORRENDOUS. We bought food from them LAST SATURDAY AND JUST NOW FULLY RECOVERED. I had to miss work bc I couldn't move due to the pain in my stomach and my boyfriend had to go through the exact same. We ordered take out, and while we did have to wait a little longer than expected (we ordered it for 5:30, which is right when they reopen for dinner), it was definitely worth the wait! The boneless chicken biryani was our favorite, but we also really enjoyed the samosas, paneer makhani, garlic naan and the mixed chicken platter. We were excited to try this place out as they serve halal (although they are mostly vegetarian from my understanding) and were left unsatisfied. A family friend recommended Absolute BBQ so we went to check it out with the whole family for July 4th lunch buffet. The food was delicious! It was our first time there and it was really a great experience. The outside of the restaurant was not very attractive however once inside the ambience is very nice. They put a lot of effort in the setting of the restaurant from what they serve the food in, utensils, plates, etc. They provide a non-veg or veg grill at your table which is something we hadn't experienced before. That day our grilled meats were just ok. However we enjoyed the items in the buffet more. That day they had a variety of items ranging from mutton, chicken, paneer, 2-3 types of biriyani, 2-3 desserts, chat bar, even a Fourth of July cake and ice cream. The servers were very helpful. The charge for children is a bit high though. All in all we had a great experience and will definitely be back. read more

There have been three Indian restaurants at this location since we moved to the Naperville area several years ago. Absolute BBQ is the one we hope will stay for a long time. We love that we get texts to tell us when a dinner buffet will be offered, as buffet style is our favorite way to experience Indian food, and we are not able to come at lunch time, which is when most Indian restaurants offer buffets. Harsha, one of the owners, is aways helpful and informative. On one visit, one of the dishes was too spicy, and we were trying to eat it anyway, but he had another batch made for us, less spicy, which we took home and it made for a wonderful lunch the next day. Recently, we arrived a little earlier than the 5:30 dinner time, and a large lunch crowd made the dinner prep run a little late. We were content to wait, but we were seated and brought chicken boti (which was AMAZING - I am very picky with chicken - it needs to be moist and this was) and tandoori chicken while the buffet was prepared. Knowing we were not experienced in Indian food, Harsha prepared some pastry shells with yogurt, sweet and mint/coriander sauce and some spicy topping for us to try. He told me the name, but I can't recall it. We are very happy that this restaurant is here and that there are buffet options at dinner time on some occasions. I can't speak to authenticity, but I do love the food, and it is obvious that the staff takes great pride in what they serve.
