We Started our adventure with Absolute Air Heads in May when they made 2 visits totaling $400 for a water leak that was a waste of money as they resolved nothing. We have a split unit AC/ Heater Mitsubishi that has been perfect until the leak. They assuered us this was something they could handle...Wrong!!! It was a mild summer until August when we needed to use it and once again we had the water dripping...Floors, Blinds all at risk from water damage. We had one more visit 3 days ago and the person did find the water leak but was unable to fix it...Doesnt water run downhill and you should be able to trace the problem? NOPE. We have spoken to the office manager Denise who is amazing and I feel very sorry for her to be stuck with being the first contact with this company as she has amazing people skills..Denise is 5 stars.! However, she can only do so much so I dont not blame her for her promise the owner willl call us back. We are now ghosted. If you couldnt do the job and tell me I apreicate and respect that. Dont tell me you can do the job and are clueless as to what we need. In my opinion if you need HVAC service do not call these guys, If you are looking for a office manager...Call them and Steal Denise as she deserves better. Because I live in a condominium complex, Absolute Air had to work with the existing system and ultimately fabricated a crucial piece. Anthony sent Mike to check our furnace that had been having an intermittent ignition problem. Mike listened to the symptoms and checked for some common problems. After a few minutes checking the operation he notice that the igniter (that appears to have been replaced in 2014) was not quite in the right place. He removed it and showed me how it was not installed about 1/4" off. The bracket has 2 mounting holes and the last service person used the wrong one. After fixing it he quickly checked the overall system operation and I believe he found the problem. Excellent diagnosis and repair. Thanks for the honest, quality service and repair. The ducting (10 total runs) in our 50+ year old home has been showing its age, and with what seems to be an annual "smoke" season, we decided it was time to ensure that our entire A/C system will function as effectively as possible. I requested a quote from Absolute Air, and Anthony came out to provide the bid, which was consistent with other prices I had been given. The crew got the work done in about two days. John, Mason, and Javier were professional, and happy to answer any questions I had about the process. I was particularly impressed with John's experience. He explained the rationale for which duct sizes are used when, and how it will all work together to provide good airflow throughout the entire house. He also came up with some improvements on the old routing approach, which now allows better access under the house. Since the existing boots (the boxes that connect the ducts to the floor vents) were pretty solid, we opted to keep them. Javier went through and cleaned them up, applied sealant to the seams, and ensured they were all well secured to the floor (while wearing a mask, of course). When everything was done, Mason performed the final walk-through, making sure that airflow was good at all vents, and verified that the entire system was functioning. It took Absolute Air nine months to install all new ductwork and retrofit my existing Trane furnace for air conditioning. OK COVID did screw up a lot of timing for this work. I had a design concept in mind and I thank Anthony Mecure for staying with me and provide the duct sizing I wanted. It actually required only seven days out of the nine months to do the work and testing that was required - crazy business. I am very pleased with the final results. With increased duct sizes and the addition of a second return air duct in the attic, the system is much quieter and heats the house more uniformly. Hats off to John, Javier, Luke and Mike for their excellent work. I took one star away because their major flaw (with me) is their poor and even lack of communication. The questions or complaints I initiated often went unanswered. When the action started and his staff was on site communications were more frequent and responsive - by design? I would work with Absolute Air again. In fact I did! They installed the furnace in 2010. read more

Absolute worst! We bought a house in Martinez last year that was a flip. Near HVAC unit was great news. Then we lived in the house through last summer with mediocre AC. we quickly discovered that 90% of the air goes into one room next to the garage and separate from the rest of the house. It is also one of the least used rooms on the house. We called American Home Shield who came out for an inspection. They informed us it wasn't covered by our policy because it was installed incorrectly and should have a diffuser. We then called the contractor who did the remodel. He pointed us to Absolute Air who installed the unit. Here's where it all goes south. AA agrees to send Anthony out to take a look. Weeks pass and no one comes out. Call the office repeatedly and on occasions where I had to leave a message we do not get a call back. I'm persistent though! Finally reach someone and they promise a service call. Not Anthony, but a service person comes out and quickly points out he didn't install the unit and the guy that did is no longer with the company. He agrees to put in a new grate in the one room so we can close it off and to install a diffuser. Weeks pass and no one shows. More calls and finally he shows up with the closeable grate! That's it. Didn't remember he said he'd do the diffuser. Well the grate didn't do the trick. No surprise. More calls and finally Anthony shows. Agrees to come back and fix the issue. Weeks have passed and no one shows to date. The contractor has suggested we take AA to small claims court! Not sure if he's suggesting based on first hand knowledge. Clearly based on other reviews, service from this company is an issue. I guess they count on making money from quick installs and moving on to the next rather than standing behind their work! Update- So to be fair, Absolute Air finally came through. After months of trying to coordinate my schedule to their ability to "fit in" a non revenue job, they made it today. Domenic was friendly and professional. He confirmed what he was going to do before starting. Eve when he was leaving and I remember to ask him to show me something and it became apparent he was given the wrong directions when he was dispatched he immediately corrected it without a grumble, and then confirmed what was done and showed me how to control the airflow. I'm upgrading my rating to three stars until I see how it all works. But if service today is a reflection I expect I'll be upgrading from there. read more

I've been a home inspector for the last 23 years, and I have seen lots of unprofessional, funky, dangerous and just plain wrong furnace installations. One of the worst happen to be in the house we bought in Alameda. Anthony and his team came in, evaluated the situation, brought in the correct furnace, repaired and reconfigured the ductwork, installed a two zone system so we weren't freezing downstairs, and roasting upstairs and wrapped the whole thing up in just a few days. Stay far away. Close to a $400 bill for a capacitor change. Flat rate 287. Diagnostic fee 89. The guy told me it was probably a capacitor before even looking at the unit. They didn't have the proper capacitor so had to make two trips. Work time total was 20 minutes. Outrageous and office staff if rude to boot. They did fix the problem, but fees were not disclosed ahead of time because they were unfamiliar with my unit (as we're many other companies I called). I called the company to duscuss. No one ever called me back. Call a handyman first or do it yourself if you can turn off the power.Having watched the process, this is like changing a battery in your remote control. I understand that this is a long review, but I feel so strongly about the service that I have received that I did not want to leave anything out. I vetted 10 different HVAC companies before finally deciding on Absolute Air to replace my aged furnace and A/C unit. It all started with Mike, the sales rep. He had a low key approach that I really appreciated. He recommended the most appropriate system for my house based on heating and cooling load calculations. To perform the calculations, Mike measured all the walls of my house, windows, evaluated my ceiling and wall insulation, sun exposure, etc. All of the work that Mike performed was just to give me a quote for an appropriately sized system! Not one other HVAC company offered to perform similar calculations. All of the other sales reps looked at the size of my current unit and gaged what was most appropriate. Most of the other salesmen tried to recommend their higher tier (most efficient) systems to save me operating costs, but after doing the math on my own, there was no way the added premium of the equipment was going to save me enough over the expected life of the equipment. In my opinion...gimmicks and tricks for upsales! Mike was straight forward, to the point, considerate and responsive. He provided an excellent first impression from Absolute Air. OK so Mike the salesman was great, but what about the installation and service...even better! I was fortunate enough to have John and Mason perform my installation. When John first looked at my old furnace, he immediately saw that the new furnace would not fit in the same place because the new higher efficiency furnaces sit up higher due to their condensation drains. He recommended that we move the furnace over to be able to raise it up. I agreed that his recommendation seemed appropriate and they got to work. Since the new furnace was in a new location, my attic light was not directly over the new furnace. Mason had shifted over the light to work in the new furnace location without without even asking. He needed to put plywood down on my ceiling joists to form the platform for the new furnace and he used some additional pieces to form a catwalk from the attic access to the new furnace location, again without asking. I was surprised by the attention to detail and care that both John and Mason were putting in because I suspect that most other companies would not have worried about the lighting or catwalk. I thanked John for the extra effort and he humbly replied that he did the work on my house as he would on his own house. I really appreciated the quality first mentality that John had. He was going to do it right the first time regardless of time, material or extra effort. With the furnace moving to a new location, the ducting had to be altered. John and Mason noticed a had dampers at the beginnings and end of all of the wye pipes. ( Side note, the ducting was installed by Service Champions and they tried for 3 years to rectify our lack of HVAC to our back rooms. One option they had was to install dampers everywhere to try an choke flow in the beginning to free up flow down the line. It didn't work! Our experience with Service Champions left us hating HVAC contractors and very reluctant to seek out another one to replace our system) Sorry about the sidebar but I feel that it is important to point out when companies are doing exceptionally well and when they are not. Back to the dampers, John explained that if some dampers were loose they could close automatically when the air blows. He noticed that several were loose so he recommended to remove them. I agreed again with his assessment and he removed them and basically reconstructed my entire ducting system. I could site several other examples of John and Mason's workmanship, but I have already written a long review. All in all Anthony is doing a great job with his company and it shows with the overall team that they sent to perform my work. I would highly recommend them to everyone I can. I got an appointment within 2 days and it all went smoothly from that point on. Cole showed up at my house, explained to me what was wrong, fixed it and left my place way better. Needed our a/c unit, furnace and thermostat looked at after a home inspector found the thermostat to not respond during an inspection for the buyer of our home. I was concerned with the idea of having to replace our 35 year old furnace and really hoped the issue was within the thermostat. Turns out most of the issue was with the way the thermostat had been programmed so he got that set up and did a few things with the actual heating and air units. I knew the programming was wacky but with our fans and being able to set the a/c to auto, it wasn't much of an issue for us but we wanted to take care of the requests our buyer had. I would've given them a 0 if i could have. I bought a $3000 water heater from them. Two problems they haven't fixed, 6 mo later. 1) It now takes 3-5 minutes for my water to heat up, coming out of any sink. It wasn't like this with my old water heater. They say the only fix is for me to now pay even more money ($400+) for a recirculating pump. 2) PGE said they didn't secure the pipes right when they installed it. They haven't come out to fix it despite my repeated asks. I would never trust them again in my home. read more

Scheduling the appointment was easy enough. However when it came to them showing up they were running late without any call to let me know. I don't care so much if somebody wastes my time but my tenant was also having her time wasted. 10 minutes late and I call them again, apparently they are around the corner. 20 minutes late call again and supposedly they are around the corner. 6 calls later and still they aren't here and 45 minutes later. I told them to just cancel the appointment even though they were supposedly still around the corner. Felt bad for my tenant and I let them know I'd find another company and they didn't have to be hostage for this appointment anymore. Anthony was great, came out right away to fix my airconditioner but... I was charged $323.00 for a 49.99 part and labor. He was at my house maybe at the most 45 minutes. I think that is excessive. I asked him about the price before I paid and he told me the part was exspensive. After he left I looked it up and the exact model is $49.99. Really I would give 3 1/2 stars. Their workers were great and worked hard, however we were a little annoyed that they didn't ask us where we wanted the unit installed in our crawl space before they stuck it in a pretty inconvenient location (below an electrical conduit and next a water valve which makes servicing those two things more difficult). Their office leaves something to be desired: they completely forgot about our initial consultation which started them off on a bad note. But they came highly recommended from an architect so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. Because of the model we got installed we received a rebate from PG&E, however we needed Absolute Air to complete our paperwork in order to receive it. This took them 8 months! I called about every 2 weeks for several months and when they finally got around to it they had to lie about our install date because PG&E requires the unit be installed within the last 6 months. After spending several thousands of dollars on a new heating system, that rebate makes a difference. The heating unit was installed about 2 years ago and we've had no problems with it. All our rooms are warm and well serviced. They were also pretty flexible about two unfinished rooms that we were renovating at the time. They ran the duct lines there and capped them off for us to finish later. They also let us work on the price by letting us cut the holes in the floor ourselves and do some of the electrical work as well for several hundreds of dollars off the price. read more
