I just had Mike replace my old (20+ years) heater and install new air conditioning for my home. He did everything in 2 days. I am very pleased with the results. Mike took the time to explain my thermostat so I am comfortable setting it and controlling the heater and air. I found Mike a few years back when my heater stopped working. Mike got our 25 year old furnace going after it failed in cold weather. He cautioned us that the old furnace might fail again. He gave us an estimate that was much lower than that from another company that gave us a hard sell. When the furnace failed again on a Monday, we asked Mike to replace it. He loaned us two portable heaters to help us get through until he could install the new furnace on Wednesday. The new furnace brings the house temperature up to the thermostat setting very quickly. Hammer's gets 1 star because I received very poor and unprofessional service. He scheduled my appt for a set time, 430pm. At 530pm when no one showed up/called, I called and left a message. He did not return my call until 800pm! He told me he had another job in Morgan Hill he was working on but would schedule me for next week. Next week?! Are you kidding? After i rearranged my schedule and waited nearly 4 hours for no one to show up then I have to wait until next week for a person to check out why i have no heat or a/c? Obviously my service is not valuable to this company and my problem was not a priority. To me, that's the quickest way to a lose customer and a sloppy way of running a business. If i had been notified about Hammer's needing to reschedule at a reasonable time, like prior to them not showing up, I would have understood. Since I was not, I'm taking my business elsewhere and suggest others do the same as well. read more
