Approved contractors on the "Tech Clean list" are responsible for knowing and following all the rules, regulations and timelines of the program to insure customers are guaranteed the program rebates. Air Synergy failed to perform any of those tasks causing us as the customer to be excluded from the program and rebates in the amount of $14,000. Air Synergy was directly responsible as an "Approved Contractor" for failing to perform the work prior to the start of the programs approved timeline.

I found this company based on all the wonderful Yelp reviews to tune up my old gas furnace- something I do every year before the winter season to ensure optimal maintenance. They came out and immediately refused to do the service citing possible asbestos tape. I asked how this was possible when the last 15 years I've gotten service and have even asked the contractors to do a visual inspection of my system. They weren't sure but said that another employee in the area can come look and give me an estimate for a new system. I thought this was shady and it turns out, I was 100% right. They came later that day and quoted me $26K for a new system not including subcontracting to get the asbestos removed (another $1500). I was told and shown pictures that there was evidence of the same tape inside the duct work. I was told I would get these pictures sent to me with along with the estimate but never received any of them. I got someone to come out and test a sample of said material for $100 which did come out positive for asbestos. However the only asbestos that presented any harm was the tape on the outside of the system. There was no asbestos inside but it was recommended that I do more expensive air testing since Perfect Star said I would not be able to use my heater without the asbestos getting released into the air. Not only was this stressful to hear right before the cold weather, but I was very concerned that over the last decade I had inadvertently put my whole families health in danger using this furnace. Meanwhile, Raymond Kinder texted me a few days later to find out if I was going to move forward with the new unit. I told him asbestos removal was my priority. His response via text was "if they remove asbestos, you will not be able to run that furnace as the gases will not be vented out properly." This was not true. After several weeks of not using my heater and exploring other options to deal with a pretend problem they created for me, I went with Air Quality Testing who charged $540 for an air test. $640 later along with having no use of my heater, I learned that there is no asbestos running through my air or ducts. Perfect Star literally lied to me in order to attempt to get me to drop nearly $30,000 on a new system. Stay away from this company! They do not deserve your business for lying to their customers.

Last few years, the ac would sometimes turn on and going into this year, I didn't want to worry. I booked Smart on-line and it was really easy. Michael came by and he checked the current setup and explained what needed to be done to replace the unit. He was extremely knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Granted this was my 4th quote so I knew somethings. He never pressured me to purchase but i decided to pull the trigger to have him do the job. The rate was competitive but it was his knowledge and being personable that I made me feel comfortable to have him do the job. The replacement happened the following week and his team took all day. Michael went above and beyond making sure the job was done right and replaced a wood piece to my attic that he didn't need to do, but he did. Very nice. I talked to Susie at the office and she made sure I was aware of the next steps for the HERS test and city permit visit. She was personalable and said to call her or Michael with any questions.

Since then, they've serviced the almost 22 year old system at my home, nursing it along. With each semi-annual "check-up" service, they advised me on what I needed to do, and what could wait. When funds were tight, they suggested stopgaps to help. Because of this history, when Alex showed me that my heater was leeching carbon monoxide into my home, I knew I could trust him. While I waited for my appointment, I was provided with space heaters gratis. This IS an independently owned business, and they treat customers like family. Ozzy (Osvaldo) and Anthony installed a new heat pump and air conditioner for me last week. They were at my home three days. Not only were they professional, friendly, and polite, they were also respectful of my home--taking time EVERY day to cover my carpeted areas, covering their boots as they came into and exited the house, and cleaning up any installation debris before they left each day. Ozzy and Anthony discovered that a part of the original system was not going to work as efficiently with the new system (the dampers) given the difference in the size. Ozzy explained the difference to me, noted the cost, and the pros and cons. He didn't pressure me to upgrade the items but he made sure I had enough information to make a decision. At the end of the installation, Ozzy took the time to show me how to use the new digital thermostat controls and gave me tips on how to use the system economically. He provided me information on how to follow up if there were ever any problems. Just like other times, Vic called a few days later to see how things were going (I missed the call, but still...so so kind and thoughtful). It's a lot of money to replace your entire HVAC system, no matter which company you use, but hiring one where you know you can trust the company. Simply put, you'll never have worries about trusting Elite Comfort Systems.

Last Fall (or was it the year before?) our furnace stopped working, and I called Cali HVAC for service. They sent Oleg fairly quickly, and he did a good job repairing it; in fact, he proved himself to be very conscientious when, after replacing a circuit board that fixed the problem, he didn't like the way one part on the board was oriented, so he came back and replaced that board with a different one that fit better. He could have left it as is, since it was working, and I probably never would have known. In addition to fixing the problem pretty quickly, Oleg was also very informative and polite, answering all questions with patience and no attitudes. So, now I have moved into a new house, and even though the HVAC works, I want to have them check it out, and hopefully educate me about filters to use, what maintenance it might need, and how to make it quieter.
