Love these guys! I've used them many times and I trust them. This last visit they couldn't make it to my house during the appointment window and nobody called me to tell me so I sat around for hours waiting for them and then had to call about it..... Either way, it's worth using them since they do GREAT work and are wayyyy better than anyone I've used before in my dozens of properties. I found Ability Air through Yelp. I called around for prices to assess an a/c problem for one of our tenants, and the receptionist quoted me a fee of $89 plus an additional fee every hour afterwards, and told me that the fee went toward the service repair if I went with them. This fee seemed reasonable and lower than other places I had called so decided to go with them. She scheduled me very quickly the following day for a morning slot. The next afternoon I called the the office to ask what the diagnosis was, and she reported that I wasn't in the schedule and the technician had not come. I was disappointed (but these things can happen), so I scheduled again for the following morning. I was very clear at that point, that I was the manager, and it was for a tenant. The following day, the technician tells me that they fixed the job (adding refrigerant and filter) and quoted me a price of around $600. I was not happy with that, as I had explained to him (again) that I had not requested them to fix the problem, but just wanted a diagnostic. No one had communicated to me what the problem was before deciding on their own to fix the problem. After phone calls with the owner (who did not want to budge but offered to TAKE the refrigerant out that they put in?) Long story short, everyone was confused, they charged me for the $89 service call fee (though over the phone they said otherwise), the owner over the phone didn't want to budge, although it was their fault on their end. Because of their shoddy communication with each other and the front desk, I definitely would not recommend this place. read more

Marcus came out to fix our AC unit on a hot Saturday afternoon. He quickly diagnosed the problem, got it working w the available replacement parts. He didn't try to gouge us, didn't push for work that is not necessary. He even offered to check with the AC unit's maker to get replacement parts if it's still under warranty. Seems like a honest business man and a very competent technician. I would recommend his service for anyone with a/c trouble. read more

Just had the A/C repaired yesterday on our new home with Ability. Was referred to them by our real estate agent. Were on a tight budget and was afraid of how much I'd have to spend. He is also very reasonable and can troubleshoot just about any type of A/C - Heating repair job. Just had a full A/C unit replaced which took him only half-shift to finish and complete at a very great price. We had a great experience with Rodney and Ability Heating and Air! They squeezed us in quickly since our heater was broken and we have a baby and quickly assessed the situation and fixed it. A week later ended up also needing a new part since it was old and again were quick to see us that day and replaced the part. I had a heater that looks like it hasnt been used for the last decade or so, a thermostat that has fallen off the wall, and pretty much no idea how to handle it. Rodney from Ability came by early on late notice (day that I scheduled an appointment) and managed to make everything work. He had to take apart the heater and replace various parts, but knowing that I had a flight to catch for Thanksgiving, managed to get everything done as quickly as possible. What an amazing company! Many, many thanks to Joseph, Darrel and Diego for the outstanding work they preformed on my estate in Glendale. I have a guest house on the rental property and was told by other companies that the entire rooftop combo unit (AC/Heat) was old, couldn't be fixed and had to be replaced. After speaking with Joe and emailing him the photos of the system, he suggested sending out technicians to see if the unit could be repaired instead of being replaced (saving me thousands of dollars). Sure enough, Joe was absolutely right! Darrel and Diego were the technicians who identified that the problem was a loose wire and old run capacitor. They repaired both issues and now the tenants are jumping for joy! Both Joseph and Darrel called me to provide updates on the repair work and were honest and courteous. The system had been serviced by others and some had highly recommended that we replace the system. I highly recommend Ability Heating & Air. I tried two other services before finally finding these wonderful people. I purchased a condo with a heat pump system containing mis-matched components. In the cold winter weather it simply would not heat my unit. I could not warm the interior to even 70 degrees. I called one company who told me I needed a new $16,000 system. I called a second company who told me it was working fine. I finally found Ability and they diagnosed the true problem and fixed it for a reasonable cost. They were on-time, respectful, and efficient. They patiently walked me through the problem, and solution, and the cost. This was my first time having problems with my central air unit. I looked on yelp to see which air service company was closest to me. I contacted Lane's first because they were closest but they wanted to charge $109 for someone to come out and assess the situation which I think is a little too pricey. When I told the receptionist that I would get back to her because I was going to get some other quotes she became really rude and upset so I wasn't going to give them my service after that. The next people I called that we're close to me was Ability. I am so happy that I did!!!!! They sent someone out literally within 15 minutes of my call. The receptionist was very kind and let me know exactly how much everything would be and how much it would be if I needed additional services. They sent a technician named Brian out and he was awesome! He was very friendly, quick and diagnosed the problem immediately. We had everything fixed within about 30 minutes and since I had the parts at my home he use my parts and I was only charged $59 for him to come out. He explained to me why I had the issue that I had and how I can prevent it. I am definitely going to be using them for all of my heating and air services. They were very honest and very reasonable. Ability Heating & Air (AHA) and its technician Rudy provided a great service. In the middle of the heat wave, our AC unit stopped working on Monday. All the companies were mentioning minimum one-week wait time, but I was able to make an appointment with AHA for service on Friday. On Wednesday (two days earlier than my appointment), AHA called me and sent Rudy to repair my AC unit. The company gave me a few calls to make sure that I would know when Rudy would arrive at my home. Rudy quickly diagnosed the problem and got my AC unit working in 30 minutes. He was very polite and kind, answering all the questions I had about my AC unit. It was a great service. read more

My friend referred me to them and I also referred them to my family members. I had my air conditioner serviced today as my circuit board needed to be replaced. Markus, the owner, came out the same day! He was professional and friendly. Not only did he fix the burnt out fuse on the roof unit for a very reasonable price, but he also hosed it down so debris would not cause future problems and he changed the filter inside the house at no charge.
