We have been using them all these years for our HVAC system. And they always offered fast response and quality service. Even in the hottest day of LA weather. We always able to book their service in a very reasonable time. And we just got them to service and maintenance the system. The tech that came is professional and totally on time (right at the door by the minutes, how rare is that in this business). Did everything and check everything, spend a few hours working on it and cost amazingly reasonable price. A totally trustworthy company. We need one as the weather each year only get hotter and hotter! read more

I called Ability because my whole AC/Heating system stopped working out of nowhere. They were very nice and were able to get someone out first thing the next morning. Their Tech arrived at the agreed time and did everything he could to get our system up & running again. He was excellent and their pricing was so reasonable. Thank you Ability for saving us. read more

I called Ability for AC maintenance service since they had many positive reviews on yelp, and they were located close to our home (didn't want people to travel very far especially during COVID). We have not had the main Carrier unit looks at since we moved in 9 years ago, and thought it's about time. James was a delight: super cordial and easy to talk to. He carefully tested everything and discovered the blower motor in our attic was leaking oil. James explained clearly what needs to be done, and did not push us into making any decisions (we did have the motor replaced). My elderly mom was very pleased that she gifted him one of our cactus plants! read more

I am so happy with the customer service I received today. My A/C stopped blowing cold air and I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day (it's busy season for broken A/Cs). James showed up towards the beginning of the two hour time frame they gave me, and he was so incredibly polite, friendly & knowledgeable. He was super sweet to my 18 month old daughter too. He figured out the issue, and thank goodness I have cold air again! I highly recommend this company! read more

I called a week after the July 4th weekend and was able to get an appointment within a day. They did an amazing job checking out my aging centralized system and only recommended what was really needed. Luckily they found a capacitor that was nearing the end of life and was able to test it for me to show how it worked. I had them replace it right way because I didn't want any issues in the dead heat of summer. Honesty is hard to find these days, but these guys delivered. read more

We moved into our Arcadia home in 2004 and hadn't had the A/C serviced since then. This past Saturday, I cleaned the coils myself and the A/C ran for a few hours afterwards then just quit :( Hence, no A/C for Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and 1/2 of Wednesday. The receptionist at Ability was terrific. Very personable and customer service oriented. I might hire her... you've been served. Joey from Ability arrived on-time and identified and repaired our problem, which I am responsible for, in under 15 minutes. Very good. On a side note, my wife who was at home at the time, shared with me that Joey attempted to charge on additional $45 for labor which she questioned him about. After some discussion, the $45 uplift was waived. All in all, we are happy with our experience with Ability except for the incident described above. read more

AC went down on one of the hottest days in August. My LL contacted Ability and they sent a tech to resolve the issue. After explaining the problem, Rodney was quick to diagnose the issue and repaired the problem. He was very knowledgeable, professional, informative and friendly. Ability Heating & Air has been assisting my family for the past 11 years. Markus the founder and his father Rodney are the main reason that my family continued doing business with this wonderful company. Throughout the years we got introduced to Joseph the business manager and his great team of technicians. Thank you Joseph for your kindness, assistance and endless support, your positive attitude and how caring and understanding you are with the clients is commendable. Technicians always arrived on time, efficient and professional. We are thankful to Ability Heating & Air and their assistance. read more

Excellent communication and service from start to finish. Joseph was honest and helpful over the phone and Darrell and Diego were professional and polite when they came and fixed a potential carbon monoxide issue with our furnace. They also charged about 25% less than a competing quote. Would definitely recommend for any of your HVAC needs. read more

I just want to give James and Tony and huge shout out for rescuing me from this heat! I called for service and got an appointment for the next morning. Can we say...A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! They got here introduced themselves I directed them to the a/c unit and they got right to it. They were both so informative of what they were doing and resolved the issue in no time. Updated review: This year our A/C unit went out again and we called Ability, because of the great previous service. This time, 1st technician was supposed to arrive between 8am-12pm, but did not arrive until past 3pm. (They were short technicians, it seems.) He fixed the a/c unit, which needed a new capacitor and it seemed to have been fixed. After he left, we discovered that the air was cool, but not cold; the air coming in was weak and something was still wrong. We had to call for another appointment and the next time we got Brian, who saved the day. He saw that the fan in the machine was connected incorrectly, so it was not blowing air out and overheating our unit. He fixed it promptly and there is an instant difference. Many thanks! We still prefer Ability Air, because everyone is extremely nice & friendly. Main feedback is that we had to deal with this in super hot weather for a while and I wished it was fixed properly with the first technician. ------ Wow, never thought an A/C repair would be a pleasant experience. Rodney came with a cheerful attitude, very friendly and super, super nice. (He's also very funny!) We thought Rodney was very knowledgeable, answered our questions and explained the problem thoroughly. In fact, he knew what the problem was immediately after looking at our unit, had the part in his vehicle and installed it. He also had the ladder needed and carried it up and down the stairs. We are much cooler and much happier. Because of the experience with Rodney, we will definitely call Ability Air if we have any issues in the future. Thanks so much! read more

I had ability for repair last year and maintenance this summer. Thank you, James and Tony, for the great AC maintenance service.

Update on my review. After our first great experience with this company, I called them back to service our condenser, just a simple annual service. First, they rescheduled with me three times which was annoying but no big problem. Right after they serviced my unit, I woke up the next day to a burning hot oven of a bedroom. I went outside and my condenser had iced over. I called them and asked them to come fix the problem they caused. It took the receptionist hours to call me back because she was looking for her manager. Then she couldn't get a tech out to help. This was in the middle of a heatwave and completely unacceptable. I never had problems with my condenser before, never had it ice up until these guys touched it. I told them to forget about it and now I have to get my condenser replaced because of whatever their tech did. read more

I had some unfinished installation of my heating and air condition units as well as needing a thermostat installed from the previous installer. I have used Ability to service my air conditioner 2 1/2 years ago, and I had a wonderful experience. Anyway, this time James and Anthony came for my appointment on time. I had the most excellent experience today. James was knowledgeable and efficient. James and his assistant in training (Anthony) Checked everything for me and had to do everything from scratch almost. Hooking up and checking both the heating and air conditioner. James was extremely honest and explained to me every step of the way. The most important part, he informed me what the estimate will be within ..... and when everything was running-he charged exactly within the estimate. Both James and Anthony were so pleasant to work with, I would definitely recommend them. Especially James' knowledge, honesty, and efficiency. From Mary Lin, (son Brian Chu) in San Gabriel read more

Since the summer weather arrived early and my 20 year A/C stopped working I decided to consult with my usual A/C repair man and a Costco recommended company, but I was not satisfied with the $olutions offered, so I decided to contact some companies with good/great reviews listed on Yelp. One of them was this one and a few minutes after leaving my voicemail, Markus called me back and offered the details and info I needed to meek a decision which looked as the best $olution to me. After a few days he came to my place to inspect the job and again I was impressed by his professionalism, so we came up with an installation date. His crew members were also very good and professional, so I recommend his company (already did to one of my neighbors...152 to go) and I'm looking forward to a comfortable summer and a lower electricity bill! read more

Customer service and quality of work was great. Everyone I communicated with was extremely nice and thorough. Our Heating wasn't working so after a long search I found Ability Air, Markus was able to come the same day and fix the problem, however a few days later we set-up a new thermostat and the heating wouldn't start again. It was Saturday at 4:55 pm, so I knew that it was a long shot to get him on the phone to trouble shoot it .But to my surprise not only did he offered to help me he actually came over and he wired the thermostat correctly and in no time at all we had heat and everything was fixed!! He didn't charge any extra for coming the second time!! We highly recommend Ability Air, its very difficult to find a company that is reliable, honest and professional and we found that in Ability Air. If you need a great Heating and Air company in the San Gabriel Valley call Ability!! read more

Thank you for your efficiency and professionalism! It's been about two months since we got our AC replaced and we are absolutely satisfied. Even before the installation we were very well-informed on all the details of the works he would do and recommended. There was no surprises and the price was reasonable. On the day of the installation, I really had nothing to worry about but to sit back and relax. They knew what they were doing and I knew everything that they were doing because I was so well-informed. I only came out because I was nosy... I would recommend Ability Air to anyone. In fact, I already did, and am doing it again! read more

So glad to have found these folks! We have an old house with a floor furnace that needed to be retrofitted to comply with safety code. We felt that Rodney went over and above what was expected, and the best part is he didn't try to gouge us with additional cost and whatnot, even after doing an extra setting for us to make our lives easier, which we thought would cost additional. Thank you, Rodney! It's so comforting to know that there are still homegrown, honest-to-goodness folks out there! Again and again and again, Yelp comes through for us! read more

So, our air conditioner goes out on Friday at 11am on what was reportedly going to be the hottest weekend on record in Monrovia. And our regular a/c company says the first appointment they have is between 8-9 on Monday. Monday! All weekend without air conditioning? Not an option. I called several other services that said basically the same thing as the first one... All weekend without air conditioning? Not an option. The next call was to Ability Heating & Air. Markus, the owner, answered and said he had a full day but could be there around 6:00. Yes! I booked the appointment and said we'd be waiting for him. He arrived just after 6:00 - he was running just a bit late, no surprise on such a crazy-hot day. His first guess was that it was likely a failed capacitor and confirmed this after testing it. He had the part on his truck, replaced it, filled up the refrigerant, tightened the valves and put new caps on them. He explained everything he was doing, answered all my questions and was a really nice guy to top it all off. I really can't recommend his service highly enough. Fair rates, great service and a great guy! He definitely earned our repeat business. All weekend without air conditioning? Not an option with Ability Air! read more

Very pleased with the service from Ability Air. From the start, Joseph who answered the call was very pleasant, straight forward, and answered all my questions. I needed someone asap to fix my a/c that wouldn't blow out cold air although the fan was running. Joseph seemed eager to help and was able to contact a tech to come out to my house within a few hours. BRIAN the tech was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. He was able to diagnose the problem fairly quickly and switch out the capacitor which he had in his car...then out came cold air! To top it all off, I was pleasantly surprised with such a reasonable invoice. I would definitely use Ability again but hopefully I won't "need" to! Thank you Brian and Joseph!! read more

Quick summary: highly recommend Ability Air - they're professional and friendly. Communication was also great. We had Markus come over for an estimate to install an entirely new full HVAC system for our house, and after getting a few other estimates decided on Ability Air. I'm happy to say we didn't regret our choice. Ability kept us informed of when they would come over for work as well as handle all of the permit issues. Thank you Markus, Joseph, Mike and the rest of the Ability crew for the great professional work that was done! read more

Our central air conditioning unit had been leaking for over year. Building management sent a few different companies to take a look a few different times but the problem continued. Worsened even. Now at almost 8 months pregnant walking out of my room in the morning to slip in a huge puddle of water had become quite the hazard. Until Rodney from Ability Heating & Air! He's the first person who came and took the time to actually take the unit apart, explain what the problem could be && then find out what the problem was. Such a great guy! If ever we have an issue with our AC again, this is the ONLY company I'll contact. read more

The best company around !!!!!! Friendly helpful service. Honest and awesome .don't know what i would do without this great company

Good service and easy communication. They make things easy and deliver the service very on time.

I was very impressed with the care, concern an overall integrity of both of the technicians: Darrell and Ivan. Their overall professionalism and ability to withstand triple digit heat was remarkable. It is rare these days, to observe such hard working, salt of the earth, humble, smart and respectful. I hope the team at Ability Air knows they hit upon a couple of gems! read more

Diego and Darrell were absolutely wonderful! They were honest, friendly, efficient and wore masks the whole time for safety. We have had 3 a/c companies come look at our unit over the past year and each one of them said it was unfixable and quoted an exorbitant price to replace it. Then Diego and Darrel came, told us it was a loose wire and an old run capacitor that they could fix and the unit did not need to be replaced. Within an hour we had working a/c and heat for a fraction of the cost. We are thrilled and will definitely be using Ability Air for any needs in the future! read more

Rodney was great! Our A/C was repeatedly leaking, leaving pools of water on the floor of our apartment. Not only was he friendly, he thoroughly assessed what was causing the problem and explained it to us. He did a great job fixing it and now it works great. Thanks Rodney! Would 100% recommend read more

My property management company uses Ability to perform all of their AC service. My AC went out on 7/9 and was told their earliest appointment was today 7/18. That's fine, I understand that it's the busiest time of the year given the heat. The tech arrived on time and and diagnosed my problem and submitted an approval for a new wall unit to my property management company which was approved by them within an hour. Got a call back to reschedule the installation and now the earliest time they have is a week from Friday 7/27. When all said and done this should not be a 17 day process. If the unit was approved as it was it does not seem right to now be placed again behind all those who presumably called after I did last week to schedule the initial appointment. The staff at each part of my experience have been great but the time elapsed to diagnose and install a wall unit being over 17 days in a these conditions is a pretty long duration. NOTE: As you can see the management is very attentive and responsive to any issues by the Managers reply below. Also got a call to move up service after they had a cancellation early in the week. Great customer service and prompt reply. Will be changing to a 5 star review. Thank you! read more

We've used Ability Heating and Air for about 5 yrs now. We bought our house in 2008 and it need an entire heating and air con system. Never had it before. we carefully picked our machine and did multiple walk thru-s with Markus and his team to determine best set up for the house. The crew had to work within a strict time frame we had laid out as the house needed lots of work! Markus and his crew have been available for this and that every since, maybe a total of 3 or 4 times in 5 yrs for yearly tune ups or replacements. The unit we chose is excellent as well. The house blows cold --nice--even on the hottest days -Heat works just as well. I cannot recommend them enough. They were affordable, honest, reliable, and responded in a timely manner. A+ read more

Our a/c stopped cooling, so I made a couple of calls to find someone that would help get it working again right away. Markus called back promptly after I left a message. He said he was going to be in the area and could stop by on his way to another a/c repair job. So glad he did. He was a true gentleman, identified what was needed, performed the work and quickly got our house cooling down. Good thing, since the temperature was 100 deg and we were just about to leave for a place that was much cooler. The cost was very reasonable. I'd definitely use him in the future! read more
