The locksmith was a lifesaver! I was rushing to get to an appt and accidentally locked myself out. Sent an inquiry out for immediate request through yelp and called different businesses. Everyone but this guy was double the price and longer wait time to arrive at Kakaako along Ala Moana Blvd. He had the best rate way under $100, and he was immediately available -- within 10minute arrival! I was lucky. Later on, a neighbor was locked out and I recommended him but he was out of town, unfortunately for her. I would still recommend this guy for plan A if you are in Kakaako or nearby areas -- bookmark on yelp. Always keep a plan B too. Since then, I do keep a lock pad outside my door and spare keys in other places. read more

5 years ago, I lost my spare car keys. I called Jason after reading about about him on yelp. He didn't disappoint. Today I needed a key (lost again) program my remote and as a bonus asked him if he can repair my door lock cylinder. (The thief didn't get in.) The keys and remotes are no problem, but the lock cylinder was more of a challenge. I must say, you have to have a lotta patience, strong back and legs and good eyes. (Small hands help). The working space is small and you have to turn and twist your hands to get to the screws and clip hidden by the door frame. Story ends with success and I'm grateful that for the time and effort he put in my s2000. ps. good personality, soft spoken, on time and good price! DA MAN read more

Excellent trustworthy service. Needed to replace a couple of my fobs, since the plasticky surface on the buttons were starting to break down. Had brand new replacements from online, but the switchblade keys needed to be cut along with the reprogramming. Called, and Jason showed up just a couple of hours later (little after lunchtime). He got them all set up, tested, and done about 15-20 minutes later. Reasonable pricing and fully licensed. Highly recommend. He's got you covered! read more

**This was my first time getting locked out of my apartment, and my dog was inside. Anyone who has been in a similar situation will know that both the dog and owner (aka me) will be very anxious and stressed! ** It's a Friday night and a lot of businesses are closed and/or not answering. Another locksmith referred me to Jason. When I called Jason he responded very quickly and arrived in no time. He was very friendly and professional. I was impressed at how quickly he was able to unlock my door - probably in less than 10 minutes! His price was very reasonable compared to what other businesses charge so that's a plus. Will gladly recommend him to anyone and use their services again, if needed! read more

This was my second time using them and he was on time for both my appointments. He does excellent work and my key duplicate I needed was a smart key so the key needed to be cut and the FOB needed to be programmed for my keyless entry and push button starting of my car. You can't go wrong using them. Steven S. read more

Jason was so nice and professional. My MIL dropped her car keys to her car and the remote/key broke apart. The remote stopped working, so I needed a replacement made. Bought 2 blank keys/remotes (all-in-1) from eBay ($15 each) and called up Jason. We scheduled a date and time to meet at my MIL's parking stall, he comes to you (mobile). Jason checks and verifies his work throughly to your satisfaction. He charges a Very good price . The car dealer quoted me $400 each key, ouch! I'm definitely calling Jason again if I ever have lock issues . Thanks Jason! read more

Jason is AMAZING! I locked myself (and my 3 year old) out of our place and looked on Yelp for a locksmith. The person I spoke to couldn't help me and recommended I contact Jason/ABCO Lock & Key. I called Jason around 10:15pm and he came over quickly in just 20 minutes! He explained everything to me and unlocked my screen safety door and front door. Excellent service! Very reasonably priced. A+++ I would highly recommend! read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I was very impressed with Jason. The three values I'm looking for in a locksmith are trustworthiness, timeliness, and affordable. Jason of ABCO Lock & Key hits all these marks. Throughout the process of getting two fobs programmed with emergency keys cut and an additional replacement emergency key for my Mazda 6, Jason was very prompt and transparent throughout the whole process. He quoted me a very reasonable price and timeline and followed through. During the actual process of him programming and cutting the keys he fully explained each step of the way. I will be recommending Jason to all of my friends and families in need of a locksmith. read more

My key was accidentally locked in the Trunk when a beautiful Hawaiian breeze blew it shut at the absolute WRONG time. Called AAA, plus FIVE DIFFERENT "Locksmiths" who said "Not possible" several trying to unlock it, Failed...miserably. My trunk ISN'T easy because it's a trunk to the very COMPLEX Beast....of a JAGUAR XK8 CONVERTIBLE, * All failed......until a friend of mine who currently works at THE Jaguar Honolulu, slipped me the great advice, of calling this guy. He did it in no time whatsoever! And even was able to make me a extra key...WITH a chip! - That would have taken two weeks and twice the money at the dealership! (I had to call my dealership, show proof I was the owner, and they sent me the code, which I gave him to go to work) He is FAST and lives here in the heart of Honolulu. Jaguar is harder than Mercedes. Locked out....or need an extra key at a FRACTION of the cost.... Trust me...CALL & ASK FOR JASON. read more

Jason is a wonderful guy. I made an appointment with him yesterday at 5:30pm and I got hold off at Liquor license hearing. My phone was out of battery and I didn't get a chance to let him know til 7:30. He waited me for like one hour. I explained to him for what happened and he understood and came back next morning and provided me all the service I needed. I asked him to charge me for the time that he waited here. But he still gave me same rate for the service. A very nice guy. He understand life is not easy in Hawaii. And he understand to help customers out is the #1 thing for business . I end up gave him $20 more as tips . I high recommend this guy. He will be my #1 lock smith on the island. read more

What a blessing! I needed a spare working car key and Jason was responsive, on time, thorough, quick, and the best price and service I have found. I needed a replacement key for my car. The original (and only "surviving") key broke; as well as the transponder chip. I called Jason and he arrived at my home within 10 minutes of hanging up. His customer service was really great...he's a really nice guy. The entire process (cutting and programming) took him about 20 minutes tops. I got two keys for a reasonable cost - way cheaper than what I was quoted for just ONE key from the dealership. And both keys work remarkably well. Will definitely call him again if need to! I called this business out of desperation. My blond girlfriend purchased a used Lexus ct200h from a less than reputable dealer that refused to provide her with a spare keyless fob. If you have ever lost one, or had to replace one, you know that it is a costly and at best inconvenient procedure. I puchased a blank aftermarket replacement on EBay, but no one, including Lexus was really interested in programming the key. The only Lexus dealer in Hawaii even said that if I had puchased a factory part from them, it would have a different story; an understatement if there ever was one. What they charge and what I paid is a difference of more than half. The job was completed at my convenience in a mutually agreed upon time and place within twenty minutes. The work was completed in a manner where my blond girlfriend felt comfortable with both the procedure and the cost. What needed to be done and what the cost would be were explained up front. This is as good as it gets. read more

5+ stars if I could! Needed some help getting keys out of a locked car, and seeing Jason's reviews, decided to give him a call. Jason is really dedicated to helping his customers. He came in non-work clothes and his non-work car loaded with well-dressed companions. Who does that? Only someone focused on his customers. The car was unlocked quickly for a great price (and Jason and friends were back on their way to dinner). So glad to have found him via Yelp. I'm going back to him for business since I could use an extra FOB. read more

Employees were unexpectedly locked out of the office because new janitorial staff may have accidentally set a deadbolt the night before. After calling various locksmiths claiming to be 24/7 on Yelp, Jason of ABCO Lock & Key was the only person who answered their phone at 6:30am and showed up 10 minutes later. What a response time! His pricing was so reasonable that we would have paid more but this guy is so humble, knowledgeable, and so kind. He saved the day and is now our locksmith for life (unless he retires). Stop your search for a locksmith and just go with Jason! I learned my lesson after calling other locksmiths who charge much more and take longer to come to your rescue. Both times I have called Jason for help because my key broke and the transponder inside fell out so my car wouldn't start. He quickly came and made a brand new key for an unbeatable price! Other places I've called charge too much. This time, I locked my car keys inside the car because I was carrying too many things plus had my son with me so I was distracted and locked the doors from the door control panel and left my actual car keys inside. Once again, Jason to the rescue. Within 15 minutes he arrived and quickly opened my car for me. I definitely recommend his services to everyone who needs to make new car or house keys! Be sure to tell him Eimi recommended you! My stressful situations turned around thanks to Jason's prompt services with affordable prices. I now have him saved in my phone on speed dial because I won't need to yelp anyone else. read more

I called Jason at 640am in a panic because I locked myself out of my apartment. He arrived at 6:55am with a bright and friendly smile on his face. Jason went above and beyond from explaining step by step what he was doing, to giving me tips so that I do not lock myself out again, to showing me his credentials. I am definitely saving his number in my phone in case I ever need another locksmith. Mahalo Jason, I enjoyed talking story! read more

Jason Kwak is the name. Getting nimrods like me out of a locked-out-of-the-car jam is his game. In my hurried state to grab the million things out of my car and get into my office, I did what I always do: threw my car key into my gym bag and took my office keys out. Then I hastily grabbed my breakfast plate, bottled water, laptop bag, cell phone, and a couple work papers and magically held onto it all while I reached over to the door, clicked the door lock button, jumped out and then slammed the door shut. At about the second step up to my office door I had a mild heart-attack. About face. Wide eyed. Quick, wide paces toward my janky ass car. And then something hit me in the face like a slab of reinforced concrete -- my dumbass forgot to grab my gym bag ... like I always do ... the same bag that I always throw my car key into ... so that I don't lock myself out. Lesson learned: never change your routine no matter how much you have to carry. Hell, it worked for Jesus. Did I just mention The Messiah and The Place That Shall Not Be Named in the same sentence ... heck ya I did! CASH ONLY. $65 dollars for car lockout service. Call -- 779-4422 or 777-8622. I can vouch for Jason that he is THE ONLY dude who will answer the phone at 6:45 AM to help you out. All the other numbers online went to a mainland dispatcher who couldn't even pronounce Nu'uanu. read more

Jason did a 1st class job! I would highly recommend ABCO Lock & Key. My 1994 Miata trunk lock was getting worse, to the point the key wouldn't turn. I googled locksmith in Honolulu & read a few reviews. ABCO seemed to have the best reviews so I called & spoke with Jason. Jason came out to my house this morning & did a great job taking the trunk lock apart & fixing whatever was wrong. I also had him cut some matching keys and a key for our Toyota Rav. The work was all done on site for a very fair price. He has a well stocked work van with his tools & supplies for his trade. I will definitely call ABCO Lock & Key again when I need locksmith service! read more

Jason helped us out with programing a van key for a used van that we bought. Everyone I called was going to charge me over a $100, Jason was the least expensive so we chose him. So when I asked if he was available he told me I could meet him now, but mind you, he was on his own personal time doing some shopping. He stopped what he was doing and helped me right away. I think my case is up there as far as worst situations that require a locksmith. I have a Honda Civic and lost my key (with the fob), so I needed another one programmed and didn't have one readily available to copy, although I did have one INSIDE MY CAR. Pretty great forward thinking on my part. Jason and his wife pulled up to my apartment about 30 minutes after my first call with them, and after another 30 minutes of trying to break into my street-parked car using what looked like unfolded metal hangers and sphygmomanometers--which we almost got to work by the way!--Jason decided it was time to just make a key. He had to call someone else to get him a key code for my car, which is why I think he preferred to try to get in himself. He told me I didn't need to wait around anymore, and after a quick nap and a vivid dream about me as a little boy in my garage sitting in the driver's seat of my pop pop's old Nissan pretending to drive, Jason called and just said, "Come here" without telling me if I was going to keep dreaming for the rest of my days. But I have parents, so when he was being secretive about something that I really wanted, I knew deep down that he had produced. The rest is pretty obvious given the 5 stars. I should say that I provided two of my own aftermarket blank keys, which helped drive down the already low price he was offering, so I ended up paying something like half of what I would have with other companies. And he didn't need to tow my car. He asked if I knew the FCC ID numbers for the blanks I got, but I had no idea. It didn't appear to slow him down, but I think there was a possibility the keys wouldn't have worked. He's an honest, hard-working dude, and I'm glad I chose him. I might get another key copied with him and "accidentally" lock my car with all four inside just so we can go on this roller coaster ride together one more time. TLDR: Programs fobs, doesn't need to tow, very competitive pricing, fun roller coaster ride read more
