The person who unlocked my car in January was very nice, professional, did everything right and I'm thankful for him, but I would NOT recommend this service for a lockout due to price. (Likely not the guys fault, he's just doing his job.) For the same service in the past from other locksmith companies, I've paid about $60-80 for them to air pump my door open and use the device that hooks and pulls open the latch of the door to release it. No extra service cost. With this company, they quoted $65 over the phone and that it might be more depending on the job's difficulty and what the serviceman will assess. ...I didn't expect it to be ---$100--- more. According to the receipt afterward, that initial quote was only for the "service call" which ended up being about 75-ish, while $100 was for the actual process of opening the lock. I paid $178 total for a call at 8:03 pm with an arrival at 8:41pm. Now, I -technically- can't complain because I signed everything that said I was okay with the price. Honestly what could I do? Just refuse? I'm not one of those people to haggle prices down or make a fuss or be rude so I just swallowed my pride, told him it was all good, signed, paid, and he was on his way and so was I. The thing is... when I had called the company, the receptionist should have VERY CLEARLY EXPLAINED that there are separate "service call fees" and "locksmithing fees." I was not told this at all and they can check their recordings for January 14th at 7:59 pm and then again at 8:03 pm. I asked how much it would be to unlock my vehicle and was quoted something around $65 and the only stipulation for it being more was depending on what the driver assesses/difficulty. I was okay with that, thinking it could be about $20 more if it took a really long time or there were other methods involved. I was absolutely not privy to the fact that the receptionist's quote was just for the service call alone. This just seems like a very dishonest way of doing business and upsetting experiences like these can be avoided if they are upfront and clear about there being a separate service fee so as to not lead first-time customers on with thinking that the given quote was for the actual locksmithing service or for the total. read more

Very unfortunate set of , my husband thinks he can fix everything, circumstances. Our front door knob was giving us some problems. When we attempted to open it, the knob wouldn't turn all the way so it was a bit of a struggle. My husband thought it would be a good idea at 10pm, to take the knob apart to try to fix it. When he gave up and tried to put it back together, the knob would turn at all!!! The middle part that allows the latch to move, no longer moved! So yes, yelpers we were locked in! After about an hour of trying to break out of our house, I got on yelp to find help. I revived many quotes through the yelp help system and 808 was the most reasonable. Ali contacted us immediately and came out. Even he had a little trouble from the outside, trying to get the latch to break free so we could open the door. My guess is my husband had damaged it trying with all his might with wrong tools to open it for over an hour. So we offered to help from the inside. It still wasn't easy. We inflated the bags and we both worked from opposite sides to get the latch flat and Ali push from the outside. Ali instructed us on what to do and we all had to be patient. Eventually the door was pushed open, only to find I was right the screws that protected the doors latch had been damaged preventing the door from opening. After it was done Ali offered to find some spare parts to replace the damaged ones, so we didn't have to fall asleep with a hole in our door til morning. He was very nice, and he seemed truth worthy. To have someone come to your house in the middle of the night, I feel that's important. I would definitely recommend his business and if my husband gets any fresh ideas about any locks in the future, I will be calling him again. read more

We were locked into our apartment on a Sunday night after 12pm because I decided to take the knob off myself and try to fix the door epic fail , this company replied ASAP with a quote , it took the locksmith (Ali)20-30 min to get to us and another 40-45 min ,with our help, to open our door ,he also gave us a passage door latch ,so I did not have to go the next morning to purchase one .charge was $150 cash preferred credit cards accepted . What a rip off! Do not use these guys ! The call was made by an associate of mine . The locksmith came in an unmarked car, pulling tools out of car trunk , no business sign on his car . We were charged $1222.00 to change two locks on two doors, and a lock on a third door with an original lock is now messed up! Locksmith said he didn't have a lock for the third door so he kept it as is, but he made it worst, difficulties locking and unlocking using the same keys that always worked from years ago on that particular door ! We have made at least a dozen phone calls to have this locksmith correct the problems he created , each time a woman answers saying she will send the guy over but we have not seen or heard from him ! What is bad is they are not locals from HI, though their websites makes it sound like they are - I know that has nothing to do with running a business but here in Hawaii , integrity and honesty matters a lot ! Lesson learned here , do your research and don't go with the first business that pops up when searching for a locksmiths. We got taken !! read more

Good services from Eli, 6 new locks were sold. The original estimate was in 190-200 range, it came up as 350 for total bill. Since I scheduled the service in advance and needed the key changed on that date, I went with the price, but really not happy with the price in comparison with other locksmiths. The lady from customer service was very helpful and friendly as well as Eli, the reason I went with this company because of that. But lesson learned, sometimes you need to evaluate a company not from the talk but the actual evaluation of other customers. If you want good service, high price, 808locksmith is the one. read more

Called for an estimated cost and got an quote of $65 or more depending on the difficulty of the lock. Eli came and wrote a receipt of a "Call for service" fee of $65 AND a "Change of lock" fee $185. Total $250, TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS. That's for a DURALOCK 50mm lock, a standard lock without fancy features that took him 3 min of service without having a need to drill it. Argued with him that the lady in the phone DID NOT mention such high costs. I clearly asked her how much the estimated cost to "open a lock", she said $65 or more. From $65 To $250, this is an unreasonable increase. Luckily I only brought 100 cash no credit card. Ended up paying my 100 for the service. One star for the speed to come for aid, Another star for the politeness of Eli, but the quote was very misleading making you believe the costs were at a low end without mentioning about the hidden fees. I will not recommend to others due to hidden fees and unreasonable high prices. read more
