I searched Yelp looking to find an affordable company to program a key fob for my car. Got quotes from a few companies. Alex responded pretty quick. His quote came in under what others were offering. I asked him a few more questions through Yelp and eventually decided on him. I told him the year and make of my car and he said he needed to order the key fob and would let me know when it came in. About 5 days later he messaged me saying it came in and we set up a time to meet. Since I live in town we agreed to meet at Kakaako Waterfront park. Alex was on time and already waiting for me. He's a nice guy and knowledgeable. It took him a few minutes to program the remote but took a little longer to cut the key because he ran into a few problems. He was very apologetic for taking longer than expected. Once everything was done he made sure I checked for myself that the keys were working perfectly. Everything was good. Alex was amazing! He responded in a timely manner and came to the rescue to help my sister get her lock open. She was locked out this morning and needed an emergency service. I requested through Yelp a locksmith needed for deadbolt instillation. I received several responses, the most persistent being Alex from A to Z Lock and Key. I had sent him a picture of the deadbolt I wanted added to my door, it was a Kwikset 660, which is approved by my HOA regulations. It was on sale $20.00, however Alex told me it was not compatible with Master Key and we then exchanged 10 (ten) texts, which included double sided picture of key, lock, etc...during which I identified the manufacturer of current lock on my door, and he explained that a compatible lock could be installed for "just a little more". He also suggested adding an aluminum strip at bottom of door for extra security and keep AC air in. This was a Saturday and he that he could not get in touch w/ the manufacturer until Monday. His responding texts were always w/in minutes. Fast forward to Monday and I receive an invoice for materials $345.45 that can be paid via credit card. I send a text asking for a breakdown for materials and estimated cost for time and labor. This was two days ago.... (crickets). Alex has gone missing. I thank Yelp for the other referrals that were sent to me and will contact them. read more
