I'm really glad I saved and kept this company booked marked because I'm so grateful that Alex was able to come in at 11 pm on a Saturday night after reporting I've been locked out. Prior to this service a different company was called in to help with the lock out and couldn't get it open. The locksmith tried everything, they couldn't open it up and even suggesting to drill my door open and I wanted to avoid breaking my door. However when I called Alex, he arrived after the other lock smith left he answered right away and was able to come by and less than 15 mins. I was truly amazed at how he was able to figure out how to unlock the door with ease. He is so friendly and tried to fix the repair from the previous handyman for me and it truly shows how much he cares and enjoys his job. I highly recommend his services ! i definitely felt relieved that he was able to come in and if I'm in the same situation again I'll call Alex from A to Z Lock and key and he will definitely find a way to open the lock. read more

Alex was prompt in response and reaction. I, however, was not prepared in the way that I thought, but Alex had it covered. First, I'm an introvert, but he was friendly upon arrival and welcoming. I didn't acknowledge, getting straight to business, but he reiterated and made sure he introduced himself and that I knew his name, Alex! And now I won't forget it LOL He programmed a key fob I ordered from Amazon for a 2013 Yukon, and I did not have the needed battery to complete the job, but he had it no problem! Even asked if I needed a chain ring for my fob, which I did! He mentioned how he can cut keys as long as I had the original and so forth, and gave me his business card. Definitely go with Alex for your locksmith needs, you will not be disappointed. I definitely will be reaching back out to get another fob programmed. Already ordered! Thank you, Alex! read more

Let's start with availability and the sense of urgency. When the hubs called- Alex said 20mins and there he was. On time and on point. He isn't just a professional that can open up your car for you because you forgot your car keys inside. He's passionate about it, even showing us how the keys work. Like our own car key sucked, so he actually got us 2 fabulous WORKING key for $15. (Basic for old cars, he did offer like a key fob too but this car ain't fancy lol) The service we requested was just to unlock the door of our car for us but lo and behold with his feedback and his details for checking, we found out we can get keys. Very personable too. Great experience on such Stressful situation. read more

I searched Yelp looking to find an affordable company to program a key fob for my car. Got quotes from a few companies. Alex responded pretty quick. His quote came in under what others were offering. I asked him a few more questions through Yelp and eventually decided on him. I told him the year and make of my car and he said he needed to order the key fob and would let me know when it came in. About 5 days later he messaged me saying it came in and we set up a time to meet. Since I live in town we agreed to meet at Kakaako Waterfront park. Alex was on time and already waiting for me. He's a nice guy and knowledgeable. It took him a few minutes to program the remote but took a little longer to cut the key because he ran into a few problems. He was very apologetic for taking longer than expected. Once everything was done he made sure I checked for myself that the keys were working perfectly. Everything was good. Alex is a nice guy and even brought his friendly dog with him. If I need help with keys or locks I'd probably call him again. read more

Alex was super prompt, showed up in the window we agreed on. He got the job done, and talked me through it! * Edit: He did such a great job that we then asked him to help us with copy our car keys, which was going to cost $500 if we did it through the dealership - cost us less than half with him! read more

Alex is amazing! I was calling around pricing out, and he was the first to answer. Once I called around and finished work, I called again to see if he could come. He calls and keeps you updated. He called after I requested help, and said he may not be able to help, which was fine with me, duty calls. It's no big deal. But when he called again, he gave me an ETA of 5 mins, and was there less than that. He is amazing, without his help, I'd probably be waiting hours for another locksmith to come by. Mahalo Alex! If I ever get locked out, I'll remember to contact you again! read more

Great service, got here when they said they would, and quite engaging to speak with. Definitely recommended!

Alex was amazing! He responded in a timely manner and came to the rescue to help my sister get her lock open. She was locked out this morning and needed an emergency service. I've called around to other places and mostly got quoted a wait time of 30mins. His price is reasonable as well, flat rate and doesn't over charge either! I appreciate his knowledge and expertise when it came down to opening the door for my sister. The door knob seemed like it was a well made one that's also on the older side and he was explaining to us as he goes about on that doorknob. Very very knowledgeable and personable as well. He traveled to me and was able to get a copy of my key very quickly. Key worked perfect.

I requested through Yelp a locksmith needed for deadbolt instillation. I received several responses, the most persistent being Alex from A to Z Lock and Key. I had sent him a picture of the deadbolt I wanted added to my door, it was a Kwikset 660, which is approved by my HOA regulations. It was on sale $20.00, however Alex told me it was not compatible with Master Key and we then exchanged 10 (ten) texts, which included double sided picture of key, lock, etc...during which I identified the manufacturer of current lock on my door, and he explained that a compatible lock could be installed for "just a little more". He also suggested adding an aluminum strip at bottom of door for extra security and keep AC air in. This was a Saturday and he that he could not get in touch w/ the manufacturer until Monday. His responding texts were always w/in minutes. Fast forward to Monday and I receive an invoice for materials $345.45 that can be paid via credit card. I send a text asking for a breakdown for materials and estimated cost for time and labor. This was two days ago.... (crickets). Alex has gone missing. I thank Yelp for the other referrals that were sent to me and will contact them. read more
