A friend needed her lock rekeyed since the previous tenant moved out. It can be cheaper to have a lock rekeyed verses buying a new lock. You can run into issues installing the new lock with placement or the building/association might be against installing a different looking lock on your door. Anyway I got some quotes from Yelp. But I decided to go with Jose's Locksmith. Instead of giving me a flat rate right from the get go, he asked questions about the lock I wanted to be rekeyed. After showing him some pictures, he gave me a decent quote and then we worked out a day to have the job done. On that day, an earlier appointment finished quickly. Not responsive, I had to constantly pursue him and got flaked on. Key was also not available for my car and had to keep rescheduling. Needless to say I never got a key made.
