I needed a new key fob and was shocked at how expensive it was going to be at the Chevrolet dealership. I saw Salz advertisement in the Midweek and decided to give them a call. They didn't have the key fob in stock, but they ordered it for me and called as soon as it came in. I didn't even need an appointment! The staff was friendly, and the service was quick and easy. I'll definitely be back if I ever need another key fob or keys. I highly recommend Salz 100%! Don't go to the dealership--give Salz a call first. You'll be glad you did! read more

Excellent place to get keys and locks! I used Salz because of a friend's recommendation. There is a difference when you go to a place that specializes in keys and locks. Making duplicate keys was very easy and inexpensive. There are also a ton of accessories (lanyards, keychains). So convenient and definitely made things much easier. I noticed another room filled with different locks but I didn't check it out. The people working here are quick and efficient. Parking located outside and there were lots of stalls. I'd highly recommend coming to Salz for all things keys and locks! LOCATION: 4/5 SERVICE: 5/5 VALUE: 5/5 AMBIANCE: 4/5 CLEANLINESS: 4/5 PARKING: 5/5 read more

Per the reviews everyone stated this is the best key spot. The customers don't lie, we tried nymph place to get a key for a tunnel cover made. Salz team didn't even flinch, they made a key, tested it and it worked. This team is beyond friendly and quick. They also have alot of key accessories (key chains, holders, design key). There was no intent to by key chains but 8 key chains later I was even more happy lol. They have a buy 3 get 1 free of any accessories mix and match. Also if you have a football team this is the place to get it. Highly highly recommend. Will br coming back to get my car fob made here. read more

Salz Lock & Safe - Key chains, fob holders so much fun - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

There aren't a lot of local places to get keys made aside from the hardware store like city mill or hardware Hawaii. This place was affordable and had helpful/ friendly staff. There's ample parking right out front and the keys are made quickly and accurately. read more

Service is great. People are friendly. There parking directly in front. Keys are reasonably priced .

Shout out to Saltz Lock and Key for excellent service. Recently replaced a lost car key then found it hours later. Didn't realize they disable the lost key. Once I figured it out I called and they offered to reprogram at no additional charge. Mahalo for great customer care! read more

If you need keys copied quickly and with zero stress, Salz Lock & Safe is the place to go. They made two house keys and two car keys for me in no time, and everything worked perfectly. What really stood out was the vibe--super friendly, lighthearted, and genuinely welcoming. I came in feeling stressed and a little grumpy, but their positive energy completely turned my mood around. It felt relaxed, easy, and honestly kind of fun. They also have a great selection of supplies in the shop, which makes it a one-stop spot for anything key or lock-related. Highly recommend--fast, efficient, and just really good people read more

Walked in with my girlfriend to get duplicate keys made and wasn't greeted. Service was slow, and the overall atmosphere felt off from the start. Music with explicit references to cocaine was playing loudly -- not ideal, especially with a child present in the shop at the time. At one point, an employee made a loud comment in our direction -- "sharing is caring" -- which didn't relate to anything happening. When I asked what he meant, he smirked and said "oh, nothing," offering no explanation. Between the lack of basic customer service and the uncomfortable behavior, the experience came across as unprofessional and, frankly, a bit unsettling. I won't be returning. Hoping management takes a closer look at how customers are being treated. read more

Very honest and trustworthy. Cut a key without knowing is it would work. Told me to try first and if work, come back to let them know and pay for the key. Trusted me to come back and pay. read more

The signs were there ..... things were happening; but I chose to ignore the signs. It all started a couple of years ago when my key wouldn't turn in the lock of my vintage SUV cargo door. I started using the auto lock to open that door.... This was definitely kind of wacKEY! About a year ago my key again started acting funKEY! It could open my driver side door lock but wouldn't turn in the lock of the passenger side door..... This was definitely getting kind of kooKEY! And then two weeks ago I dropped off my friend at the entrance to Kuakini Physician's Tower for a doctor's appointment and for some strange reason I couldn't get the key out of the starter switch ..... This was definitely was getting more and more spooKEY! I searched for and found my spare key and it opened all the doors and went in and out of the ignition switch just fine .... Duh! I knew I needed a new key which definitely made me feel like a donKEY. I haven't made a duplicate key for years and discovered the place I used to go to, Modern Key Shop on Bethel was no longer in business.... This definitely made me feel kind of unlucKEY. I remembered that City Mill made keys so I went to their store on Nimitz. They have converted to an automated key making machine so I push the call button, a clerk comes over and that person inserted my key in this slot and then that slot and got a message saying they didn't have my key .... This definitely made me feel like their key making machine was hoKEY and they were key making rooKEYs I drive over to Lowe's and they too make keys and also use an automated key making machine. I push the call button, a clerk comes over and inserts my in one slot and then another slot about four different times and got the same message saying they cannot find my key..... in my mind, I'm thinking this is getting kind of freaKEY and making a duplicate key these days is definitely not a quicKEY. I remember seeing a key making machine at the entrance to Walmart so I decide to go there. Their machine identified my key but the machine wanted me you pay, and they will make and then mail my duplicate key to the address I enter. I'm thinking this is kind of funKEY. Making duplicate keys at Modern Key Shop used to be quick and easy .... by the time I get this duplicate key, I felt I would be eating a Thanksgiving turKEY!! I decide to go home and browse the internet and I find Salz Lock and Safe at 3012 Waialae Avenue, Suite 100; telephone number (808) 734-6557. It definitely sounds like a locKEY store. They got plenty of parking in front of their shop and when I walk in.... WOW!! What a difference! This place looks like a professional key and locKEY place with real technicians that know locks and keys. There are hundreds of blank keys on the wall and doohicKEY machines that you can watch technicians operate to make your duplicate keys. I definitely felt lucKEY I found this locKEY place. I hand over my key to the technician; he grabs two blank keys from the wall; I watch him do his finiKEY and tricKEY work on the key making machine; I pay for the two keys he made and I'm out the door in less than eight minutes which I definitely thought was really a quicKEY. All I can say is that automatic key making machines are definitely gimmicKEY, sucKEY and risKEY and may make you wait until after you eat a Thanksgiving turKEY. I am so glad I found Saltz Lock and Safe. My duplicate keys work great and this may sound kinKEY; but when the technician gave me my two new keys, I was so grateful and happy, I wanted to do the hoKEY poKEY and give that man a hicKEY! I know ..... that definitely sounds awfully YucKEY!! read more

Always go to Salz for my key and lock needs! Awesome customer service and local-family run business. I called today because I locked my keys in my car! They don't do car lock outs anymore and referred me to Colin at Lockout Specialists. Nicest guy in the world! Mahalo Salz! read more

I heard good things about Salz when I needed a copy of my car key for bringing into the water, so called ahead of time to ask a few questions before going in. Great local shop and theyre nice. Ive been going here for years for house key and car key duplicates, even to get a surf key duplicate.

I've been to so many different key shops to get one key made... its a Masterlock key. No one makes it! Luckily, my landlord told me to try Salz Lock and Safe to see if they can make it. Luckily, I went... and they DO make copies of the Masterlock key!!! I went to the store, and its a small store in the building. They have a few parking stalls reserved for their shop. I went in, and was greeted immediately. I asked if they can make a copy of my Masterlock key, and to my surprise, they do! The guy took my key, and I swear, not even 5 or 10 seconds later, he made my spare key! I was shocked to see how fast he did it! I paid... wasn't as much as I thought it would be, so this place is super cheap (compared with other places i normally get my keys done). They also sell lanyards, key chains, and key rings... everything you need for your keys! Since I needed other keys made, I went back to their location again, and again, good service, and to my surprise again, the key was made in less than 30 seconds! LOL. I highly recommend to get your keys made at Salz! I wish I knew about them sooner. I've been living in the area for over 40 years and I never knew about this place! Thanks to my landlord for telling me about it. I won't go anywhere else anymore! read more

After over a month of manually unlocking and locking my car due to a dead battery, I finally found time to get to Salz Lock & Safe. The folks there are so friendly and there is no attempt to upsell anything. Fifteen minutes and about $25 later, I had a key with a new battery. On top of the quick, professional service, I also want to note that they were playing awesome music and they have absolutely every sort of key and lock accessories I've ever seen. An errand I thought would be kind of humbug turned out to be fun! Thanks, Salz Lock & Safe! I won't go anywhere else for any of my future lock and key needs. read more

Salz Lock & Safe - My key works again! Yay! - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Salz Co. is the only locksmith I'd use, recommend on Oahu. Exceptional service. Discrete/confidential professional rekeyed condo lock/bolt. Arrived precisely on time, with all tools & equipment. Extremely efficient. Payment was simple. The person who scheduled the work, service order was pleasant, helpful, efficient & professiona. "Rekeying" deadbolt & door's lock was imperative bcz while in unit, an unknown individual apparently "picked my lock" - I heard the bolt open & took appropriate action to deter the individual to enter my unit. W/in 3-minutes, I heard resident in adjacent unit scream, "Get Out of my Guest Room". As a "neighbor", that woman & male partner were "difficult"; intentionally didn't adhere to Condo's rules so I don't know what happened after she screamed. Perhaps their pit bull guard dog (typically walked to intimidate neighbor) came to her aid. (despite highly secured condo that requires Security Guards to allow all (aside from authorized residents) to access residents' floors... read more

Great place to get simple spare keys made. I"ve gone here twice in the last year and both times went great. They are friendly and were able to help in my situation. My only need was valet key's so I could take them in the water. My car keys are connected to the electric FOB, so I would ruin them in the ocean. They were able to copy my car keys, so I could have a key that would unlock and lock my doors, but not be affected in the ocean. I will be back again as I've had all positive experiences. read more

Fast, cheap key duplication services! Will always come back here for any key copies I need.

If you are looking to buy keys, key accessories, key related equipment, or safes, I recommend this store. The reason is the high quality, service, and speed of work. Since it is a key specialty store, they have good equipment. If you are running a restaurant, I recommend the key chain for your toilet key. In addition, they sell lightweight and functional key chains for key chains. There were also cute keys with colors and patterns. There is also a parking lot, which is convenient. The reason I chose this store is that I actually made a duplicate key at CITY MILL, but when I took it home and tried using it, the key I made would not open the door. I was in trouble, so I looked for another locksmith. Then a friend introduced me to this store. I researched the business hours and address on Yelp and chose this store. They are open from 8am to 4:30pm. They are closed on Sundays. A front door key costs $4 + TAX per key. The color is gold. The finish was the same as the original key. I am very satisfied with everything about this store. read more

Great customer service, knowledgeable, professional. Almost as soon as I walked in, they addressed my presence and told me they would be right with me. Busy place, but didn't have to wait long. I wanted to have a copy of my car key for my 2006 Honda Civic. The key itself was a little wobbly so I wanted them to tighten it up. They said the mount on the inside was starting to fall apart so I needed to replace the key. Once they were done, I had no doubt the keys would work. They even gave me my original key back mounted on another plastic body and said it was a last resort in case the new one and it's backup didn't work. They gave me a discount on my back up key of almost 1/2 price! I was very satisfied and would not hesitate to go back to them! Much mahalos Salz Lock & Safe!! read more

Great guys. Got a good deal on extra FOB. They really know their stuff. This is the place for all things keys.

The customer service of Patrick, the guy with glasses and tattoos on his left arm needs major improvement. He should stay in the back where he doesn't have to interact with customers. Abrupt, abrasive and arrogant. I am going to look for another company to take my business to. Patrick is the reason to take business elsewhere. It wasn't my error that brought me back to Salz. It was an error of someone at Salz. It was a major inconvenience with poor attitude. No apologies for the error. On the other hand, Jace is wonderful. Just hope Jace assists you rather than Patrick. read more

We have a rare Winkhaus lock on our front door that stopped locking and unlocking with the key. Mark Yealey of Salz Lock and Safe was determined to get it working again. In June, after a lot of research, he ordered a new gearbox that first arrived in the wrong size. After another trip to our house with the correct gearbox, we discovered that the lock cylinder was also bad. Again, the first replacement cylinder was the wrong size and a second one had to be ordered. Mark stuck with it and came out on Christmas Eve to complete the job! Thanks, Mark! read more
