I'm extremely disappointed with the pricing practices at ABC pharmacy. I was initially quoted $365 for my methadone prescription, and when I called back just two weeks later, the price had jumped to $565 with no clear explanation. That kind of sudden increase is unacceptable. After doing my own research and calling around, I was able to get the exact same medication at another pharmacy for just $66. Methadone is a very inexpensive medication .20 cent a pill so this kind of markup feels excessive and, frankly, like price gouging. Patients rely on pharmacies for fair and consistent pricing, especially for essential medications. Situations like this create unnecessary stress and make it hard to trust that you're being treated fairly. I would strongly recommend that others call around and compare prices before filling prescriptions here. Oh, on top of that, the main reason why I'm recommending not going to them. I was looking for medication that you cannot find in "the chain" pharmacies. I searched compounding pharmacies and ABC and a few others showed up. I called and asked for what I needed. They didn't have it but would have it in two days. ABC is in the Valley and I'm in the South Bay so driving up to get it was "iffy" and they said no problem we can have it delivered. Whew! I've been a customer of this pharmacy for a few years, it's probably one of the better run & well stocked for pharmaceuticals than any pharmacy around. They're a family run biz, and everyone strives to provide great service. They have an assortment of inexpensive jewelry & other gifts for kids & adults, so when you're waiting for your RX, it's fun to poke around & buy something you didn't know you needed! Called in a prescription that wasn't covered by insurance. They advised us of the cash price over the phone and we agreed to pay. We were assured they would fill it and we could come pick it up any time, making this what should be a five minute transaction. Upon arrival, they said they were waiting for a pre-authorization! Why? We already knew it wasn't covered - we discussed it in advance. After repeating the earlier conversation and explaining (again) we would pay cash, they said it would be five minutes. More like thirty minutes. Only after I asked them if it was ready did it come out from behind the pharmacists counter. Meanwhile, to pass the time, I'm observing how they treat other customers. They skipped one lady in line as if she was transparent. Someone finally recognized she was waiting just as randomly as they skipped her - I guess she turned off her invisible cloak or something. Pharmacies aren't really known for great customer service, but this pharmacy is eligible for the worst pharmacy award. Avoid them if you can. read more

Went there to start a relationship with a new pharmacy. Heard good things. Was disregarded and left unattended for 10 minutes. Just kept getting stared at by the workers, literally without anyone else in the Pharmacy. Finally a female, maybe the owner? Asked what I needed and showed her my Rx that I needed. She confirmed that she had it in stock, but not taking new clients right now. She knows how crucial this medication is and how it effects my daily life. Oh well, i guess that's understandable? But then didn't even have the decency to validate my ticket... ended up paying for 30 hour because I made the 16 minute mark to pay. Place is a joke. They literally cook there next to medication too. I have been using this pharmacy monthly for some time & will never again. I'm afraid now to go see my doctor in the building. My child needed a refill as did my adult children. I was informed there would be a lengthy delay & spoke to our docs & made the decision to use another pharmacy. My docs office said they would handle everything. Some time passed & yesterday I was charged for 1 of my adult kids meds without my authorization or knowledge. These meds are controlled. If there are any issues we don't get our meds & risk death. They did not call to tell me they charged my card or call the adult it was for. When I called to ask for a reversal of charges I was screamed at & threatened & push back on reversing the charges. The demands for private information from my adult children that I didn't have their consent to share. The randomness of charging my card & screaming at me when I refused to give information and kept asking to reverse the charge because I didn't authorize the charges I had no idea such hostility & anger from a pharmacy was possibly especially to a disabled sick person with sick disabled family members just trying to survive & get their meds. People use different pharmacies for different reasons. I am also saving over $100 with going somewhere else. I have wanted to write a review for ABC for a while now since I have been going there to get my prescriptions filled for a couple of years. I drive from Burbank to Encino every month because of the kindness and empathy of the staff and pharmacists. They call me by name and always go out of their way to listen and help with any concerns I might have. Some chain pharmacies are either out of stock or can't get certain medications but at ABC it has NEVER been an issue. During this very difficult season of COVID-19, they have followed all the protocols so that everyone who comes in feels safe and cared for. Supporting local businesses is important to me and ABC makes it easy... they are the BEST!!! read more

Came in for a quick protein boost while i was waiting for x-ray next door. The place is a bit disheveled. Random items full the shelves. There are no prices marked on protein bars which just made me feel like the guy behind the counter was just making up prices as he went. Would have been nice to see some protein drinks in their cooler and low calorie, sugar free options (as I'm sure some employees of the building grab quick pick me ups throughout the day). I gave this place 5 stars and as fate would have it - I also placed a new order with them on the same day. Assuming my order was going to be delivered the next day I waited. It was a Thursday and I waited Friday, Saturday, Sunday was a no brainer and then finally on Mon or tuesday I called them. Honest mistake - they thought I was going to pick the order up, although I paid over the phone and that to me is a clue that I wasn't planning on coming in otherwise I would pay in person. I was told no problem - they would send it out. Apparently it was lost in the mail somehow and the post office says it was delivered they are trying to track it. To date I have yet to get to the bottom of what happened to the mail. ABC made it right by having a new order delivered free of charge and for that, I say YAY! I'm a fan!! They are so great I transferred my mother's Rx there as well. read more

Been coming to this pharmacy for a little while now. What got me started here is because I am very sensitive to certain medications or medication combinations. Being that I have to take them for my allergies it's something I have to work with. First of all, the staff here is very knowledgeable, thorough and I have learned so much. Of course I have my favorite pharmacist that I work with and he is so great. He worked with me to develop a skin cream that is specialized for me. They even know my first and last name, I'm not just a number to them. The other thing that is great is that they worked with my insurance company to get my medication covered. That was such a load off of my back, they know their special pharmacy lingo which if I had to call my insurance about, I probably would have had a much harder time getting it approved. Even my hubby gets any of his prescriptions filled here now. Not only is it easier to get everything done at one place but they also deliver! It saves SO much time. As someone who is primarily taking the bus it's a great service for me to utilize. If I did drive though, I would take advantage of their valet service, how cool is that, valet at a pharmacy, what? And just because I am an addict, I am also able to get my Hello Kitty fix here, LOVE IT! Because of the time that went into creating my prescription and not to mention that my body is responding so well to the medication I received here, this place leaves other pharmacies in the dust, it is by far the best pharmacy I've dealt with since I've been in Los Angeles. read more
